Chelle...Congrats on the gym! I knew you wouldn't fail me. lol. Keep on Rockin Sista! Goodluck on WI.
Happy...glad you got a little better sleep last night, probably better tonight as going to work will probably wear your tushie out.
Shad...don't cha just hate it when you lose your post. And it is always a great post that gets lost too! If only we could lose weight that well. lol
Hannah...welcome.
Mom is now in a comatose state. In and out of it. I was there last night for a couple of hours, and she was "with" me for about 8 minutes. I think her body is just plum worn out. The cat scan and chest xray came back no change. The blood culture will not be back till this afternoon. Other than her sugar dropped down to 52, doctors cannot figure out why she is out of it.
DD spent the night last night. Her BF is out of town all week and I think she just wanted her momma. It was nice having her there altho the majority of the time was spent sleeping as I did not get home from the hospital 9pm.
My dad is beside himself over mom. It is so sad to see all this. I just wish I could make everything happy for everyone. I am usually a VERY positive person, but here lately I am having a hard time staying the course.
Chelle send me some of your good feeling endorphins.
Hannah
Welcome to the worldly chicks. You have set some good goals.
Michelle
You inspire me to exercise. I've done 2 dvd work out's this week. I should have done more.
Happy
I know how you feel as I remember my foot surgery.
Annie
Maybe your mom just needs to sleep longer to help her body heal. Sending you good vibes and thoughts.
Shad
Congratulations on getting that job. Are you packed and ready to go.
I've been battleing sinus problems since August but it's finally gotten outta hand. I'm going to the doctor this afternoon to see if he will give me an injection. I've been taking otc meds but they are not strong enough. I also need to have blood drawn for the thyroid meds refill.
ADT called Wednesday to see how I was liking the system. I think I'm ready to put it on line. They've given me a week to play with it. I was told last week that the police had caught a prowler, so maybe they caught my peeping tom also.
Annie - Thanks for the congrats. I'm not feeling totally back in the groove yet, but I'm getting there. I'm sooo sorry to hear about your mom. If her Blood Sugar is that low, that could definitely be why she's out of it. Are they able to "feed" her through an IV? At least to keep her blood glucose and electrolytes up. I know when my diabetic cat's blood sugar went too low, he went unconscious and we had to give him Karo syrup to bring his blood sugar back up and then get him to the vet asap. I understand about your dad. It's sooo hard when a loved one's health starts failing. You feel so helpless. Believe me, sister, I've been there. And I am here for you, always. I'm sending you lots of love, hugs and :
Ceejay - Congrats on doing the exercise DVDs! That's great! I hope your sinuses clear up soon. My DH went to the doctor and got some NasaCort steroid nasal spray and that cleared him up quickly. He's almost all better now!
Haven't caught up on reading your posts, but I wanted to pop in and report that yesterday's scale reading held this morning - 182. Down a pound from last week.

Yummmm... sitting here at lunch enjoying some of DH's most delicious homemade chicken noodle soup. Last night we made a roast beef that smelled heavenly but we started it too late and it wasn't done until after 8:30pm - way too late to eat supper. I tasted just a small slice - deeee-lish! - and we will have it for supper tonight. Y'all are welcome, just call ahead so I make enough mashed potatoes.
Laura on a good scale reading. Every little bit counts - especially hard to lose this time of year!
I am still down from last week but up a tad from the other day - salty foods.
Welcome Hannah - nice to meet you
Ceejay - you mean that there actually CAN be an end to sinus issues here? I figured it's a seasonal thing I'll just have to learn to deal with. Hope you get some relief as the coughing and sniffling is very frustrating. Good for you for doing 2 exercise DVDS - ***pats your back***
Annie, sister-friend - sorry to hear about Mom. I'm not sure we really realize how hard a battle to body faces sometimes, particularly in a weakened state. I hope she can be comfortable. to Dad too. We took care of my Dad as he slowly deteriorated from heart disease. It was awful - to watch him, the helplessness and the overwhelming sadness of losing him a bit each day. I think the hardest part is just knowing we can't help when we want to so much... my heart to him. Glad your DD could spend some time with you. Would have been better if you didn't have to work so late. It helps to have people around. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this now - especially at this time of the year when we think we are supposed to be so full of happy happy joy joy.
Michelle - won't you be the spiffy chick Perfect time to get all pretty too. Enjoy your trip to the city - have you decided what you're going to see? Ugh on getting woken up last night. The one good thing about it being cold out is that if I have to drag myself out of bed, I can usually fall asleep very quickly just because the covers are all snuggly! Hope you don't have a winkin' blinkin' noddin' afternoon! I'm sure work will keep you awake.
Shad - you packing and hauling? Find a place to stay? Luxury resort with fabulous man-waiters? NOT, huh?
Hello Miss Mel - giving the peepers a rest today? Hope so.
Laura - Congrats on the 1 lb weight loss! That is a tremendous accomplishment over Thanksgiving week! YGG!
My WW weigh in showed a gain, which I expected....but it wasn't nearly as much as I thought. I gained 1.2 lbs. And all I have to do is lose 3 lbs by New Years to have LOST weight over the holidays!
I'm might not be able to get to the gym tonight after all, as DH wants to get the Christmas tree since we're so busy this weekend. But I'll get a workout helping him carry it. Plus I did A LOT of walking at work today. I'm gonna have to start wearing my pedometer again. I'm curious how many steps I'm getting in with working and doing holiday errands. I am going to go to the gym tomorrow morning and do cardio and weights.
Happy - How is your foot doing today? Congrats on your weight loss from last week!! MMMMM, homemade soup and roast beef and mashed taters for dinner! I don't know if I'll be getting all pretty...but at least my hair won't be three tone (roots, gray and blonde)! We're going to Daley Plaza to see the tree and the German/Bavarian village they have there at Christmastime. Then we're going to window shop along State Street and Michigan Avenue, taking in the lights and the store displays. It's supposed to be chilly - upper 20s/low 30s and since it's Chicago, it will be windy. So we'll have to dress warm and in layers.
Sorry Again For This Short Post. Promise To Catch Up Tomorrow Or Saturday. Lots Of Outside Pressure Being Put On Me And It Should All Be Over Tonite....hopefully. All Political. Will Explain Soon. Just Send Nlove My Way.......sigh
Half hour more of work and then I'm off to the train.
Happy – Hope you got a better night's rest last night and that your foot feels better today. Re The Blind Side, I definitely feel safe saying it's worth seeing at the theater or as a rental. You may not have hit your target loss this year, but you made progress, and that's worthwhile! And yay for being down from last week!! Happy THURSDAY!! The soup and beef sound fab.
Michelle - Good job getting to the gym the other day!! Have fun putting up the tree tonight, and hope you can get to the gym again tomorrow morning. What you said about lack of exercise being bad for your asthma – none of my lung complaints started until this year, after I stopped doing Jazzercise classes (which was vigorous cardio for me). I hope getting back to some sort of vigorous cardio can help me. I need to make that a goal for and 2010! Okay, it should be for the rest of 2009 too, but…I'm too busy being anxious about what I'm not getting done for the holidays. Re my loss - not expected at all. The 180 -183 range is what I've been at the past few years, I think it'll be a challenge to break into the 170's. Wondering if scale is reflecting muscle loss because exercise has not been what it should have been all year!
Thanks for the reminder about Lifetime's Christmas programming. Our newspaper's weekly tv listings (printed well in advance, I'm sure) said that A Charlie Brown Christmas was supposed to be aired this past Tues night, but that didn't happen because of the President's speech. I looked it up and the dates are the next two Tuesday's - 12/8 and 12/15 at 8 pm ET, on ABC. Enjoy your Friday off work, and enjoy your Saturday in Chicago!
Hannah – Hello and welcome! Happy Birthday in advance!
Shad – I hate when I lose my post!!
Annie – I hope the docs get your mother's blood sugar back in line. I agree w/ Ceejay - maybe her state will help her recuperate? My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom!! Nice that your dd is with you right now!!
Ceejay – I hope the doc takes care of the sinus problems. No more playing – get that ADT system online and on watch for you!
Mel – Hello!! Whoever's putting on the pressure better let up on you or we'll have to go over there and pressure those folks right back!! \
Back from the doctor's office. My sinuses had drained so much that it's gotten down to my lungs. He said they were crackling. I'm not coughing. Happy, I thought about you saying your lungs crackled. He asked me if I had chill's and fever, told him no. He did give me an injection plus two presciptions and ear drops. My ears are also infected. While I was sitting in the waiting room the doctor's wife came out for a visit. She's always been very friendly. Remember I used to work here. They have a position open. I'm attempted to apply but I know the salary will not be as much as I make now.
Laura
The ADT system is on line. I'm not sure what to so when the door bell rings. Good job on loosing a pound.
Happy
My sinus problem is year round, which means I react to both indoor and out door stuff. I shouldn't have done all that rakeing the past couple of weeks. The leaves were covered in mold on the underside.
Michelle
I use the Nasocort spray. Probably not as much as I should.
Mom update: Crap. SHe has developed an intestional bug of some sort, they do not know what it is or what caused it. She has had the poos for 4-5 days. We now have to wear a gown and mask when we go in to see her. Poor thing, her heiny is so d*mn sore, plus the bed sore she has on her right cheek bum is not very good either. God love her and bless her. She is so miserable. I hate to even visit today, seems like every day it is something new. I love her so.
Ceejay...hope the drugs from the doc help your sinuses. I always have some type of draining/sinus/nose thing going on. Everyone things I have a cold, but it is just my messed up head (more than one way) making sound like I talk through my nose. I call it the chronic "Indiana" nose. You must of gotten it too when passing through here at some point.
Laura....I would love to go on a train ride, but not to work! lol. Have a relaxing ride.
MEL....the mood I am in lately, bring on that pressure, I will whoop up on them for you. Between the two of us, I am sure we can kick b*tt. Leave my MELLIE alone, you nasty people. I told them...
Shad...getting ready for the big move/work date? What a time of year to go off to work. Merry "bah humbug" Christmas!
Chelle...enjoy your day off, hair beautification, and Chicago weekend. I should of met you up there as I actually have this weekend off. Go figure. It is only a 3 hour drive for me. That would be a blast!!
Cold and windy here, and we had a very light dusting of snow last night. I wore my short wool jacket to work, but I should have worn my long down coat. Brrrr. Yesterday food was so-so, but I did two Body Electric workouts last night - sore today. TGIF!! Have to really get busy this weekend with decorating and cleaning, but first thing Sat. morning is a dentist appointment - annual exam and cleaning. That's about it for me.
Ceejay - Hope the shot and rx's work for your sinuses. And your ears too! You poor thing! I'd be dizzy as heck if my ears were being affected by sinus congestion. Now that you're live on ADT, guess you don't need to answer the doorbell now, bonus! Does ADT give you stickers to post on your door, or is it just the lawn sign?
Annie - So sorry your mother's having to go through all this misery! Why is it that one bad thing happens and it seems to open a floodgate for a bunch of other bad things? Life is definitely not fair. Hope you have a relaxing weekend off from cvs.
