Well, no loss this week -- the scale has me down .4, which doesn't let me move my ticker. I'm pretty sure I've noticed before that I often gain or don't lose when I've got a cold, so :crossed: I'll get a nice loss next week.

Such great losses here. Gwen, I think the salt and the carbs. A little too much of either and I do pay for a while. That's why I lose the same 3 or 4 pounds over and over again.
staci, netamars - Wow! Keep it up. Down any is a reward, Arabella. And the swoosh fairy cometh once in a while. 1/11/11 198.6 1/18/11 197.8 1/25/11 198. 2/1/11 201.2 2/8/11 197.6 2/15/11 197.4 2/22/11 197.4 (and this is a great gift as I had a lot too much carbs, salt on Saturday) |

I'm staying OP and looking at all calories in & out. Really believe I should be losing. :riveroftears: (no smiley for that) How do you break through to onederland??? Any one have advice? |

I did have 2 days off when I went away, but I certainly didn't go crazy. Hope this is gone next week! staci, NICE week! gwen, i hear you girl! Is TOM a factor for you? Sodium? Carbs? Are you eating the same calories every day or varying? anagram, arabella - good job maintaining! |
Oh dear -- a couple of off-plan food items and I've got to move my ticker in the wrong direction:

I also joined the Wellness Program at work, determined to win the "awesome prize" that goes to the person that loses the most. This weekend is our annual family getaway, a little worried I will end up off plan but also think I have the determination to keep me from going crazy. I plan on taking my workout DVD's with me and my son's portable DVD player and plan on swimming a lot. natamars and arabella ~ I hope this week brings you big loses!! |

So.... YAY infection!!! Natamars - I'm right there with you! Hang in there. I've been counting calories (have always hated this) using the calorie counter at about.com.. Absolutely LOVE doing it now. It calculates calories needed, nutrients & calories consumed - it saves meals and recipes -- has become quite fun AND informative. I found out that there's a LOT of hidden sodium in the foods I eat. So I'm working on changing some things. Arabella - :smug: Read "the Beck Diet Solution" Very inspiring (once you get past page 52 and get started with the actual plan. Amazon.com had it to me in just a few days for LESS than the bookstore. Gotta go! I'll see you all next week - sorry if I've missed anyone. |
Gwen, what an awesome week! Glad you are starting to feel better.
Hope everyone else has a great week also!:) |

Gwen - welcome, welcome to onederland. Thank you all for posting your inspiring losses. They keep me going after I've done a BAD :O: |
And, another move in the wrong direction. Last week was not a good one and, despite a few good days under my belt, I'm up 2.
Anagram, you inspire ME with your steadfast reporting. I'm often loath to come in and admit to a bad weigh-in (or worse, not weighing in because I KNOW it'll be bad). And accountability is the name of the game -- who do I think I'm fooling, anyway? ONWARD! Gwen, woohoo for you, getting to Onederland! :woohoo: I'm setting my course to get there too. Natamars, congrats on the 2 down -- you're so close to goal. Staci, wow -- three pounds is GREAT! Let's make this a good week. :dancer: :dancer: This week? Aiming for reversal and then some. |
 Hi everyone! It's a beautiful morning here in North Carolina. Spring is in the air and the crocus are blooming!

Even though I don't taste it, I guess it's really there. Oh poo. REALLY liked seeing 196. (tell that to a 130 lbder!) Has anyone cut calories down to 1200? I've read that it's unsafe, but also that it's best for someone whose bmi is over 30...:dizzy: So, what do they do on biggest loser? Those guys lose awfully fast! It seems to be working for me, so I think I'll stay there another week. Arabella: Hang in there! Stay OP, keep up your exercise and it WILL drop off! Are you logging your food online? It's really helped me to realize my true calorie & nutrient intake. Sodium is killin me! Anagram: Bad Bad weeks are motivation to get back completely on plan! After all, we're on a ONE WAY road to meet our dream self... DON'T TURN AROUND. OK, so maybe that's not inspiring enough... Here's what I've done to motivate myself:
Natamars: Wish I were there! According to caloriecount I should see 136 in January of 2012. How many calories do you allow each day? How much exercise? Staci: Did I see you on the Beck thread? Hope you're doing well! |

Gwen - Nope not me on the Beck thread, not even sure what that is. |
1/7: 141
1/14: 140.2 1/21: 139.2 1/28: 138 2/4: 136.6 2/11: 137.2 2/14: 136.2 2/18: 134.4 woo-hoo!!! 2/25: 137.0 3/4: 135.2 3/11: 137.4 SO frustrating. Apparently I can't have any off days to get through this plateau. OK, I have my plan set - back to lower-carb(no more than 1/2 cup quality carbs/day), limit treats to 1-2 squares very dark chocolate/day, keep calories under 1350. Increase running to twice/week. Gwen, I try to keep my calories as close to 1200 as possible, but let myself go up to 1500 if needed. There's usually one day a week(lately 2) where I go over that - trying to nip that in the bud. I go to the gym 5 days/week for 45-85 minutes. Usually spin once/week, Zumba once/week, running once/week, body sculpting class twice/week, and elliptical at other times. I work full-time and have a very sedentary job, so I need the gym! |
I thought this was going to be worse. Down .5, when I expected to be up. Salt, salt and more salt. I ate an entire bag of kettle chips on Friday afternoon and then had a few handsful at a dinner party on Saturday, plus some very salty prosciutto. O/w, I had a pretty good week. But definitely gotta watch the salt -- and dinner parties.
1/8/11: 231 1/15/11: 229 1/28/11: 229 2/5/11: 228 2/12/11: 227 2/17/11: 227 2/28/11:228 3/7/11: 230 3/14/11:229.5 I've reinvigorated my mojo and I'm starting tracking everything on SparkPeople today. It really does help staying on plan. So easy to skip the weights workouts when DH is away, for example. BUT if I've got to go in and report, I'll do it. Natamars, you're so close to goal -- those pounds are the hardest. Your workout regimen is terrific! Staci, almost 20 pounds down from January? Fantastic! Gwen, how sweet to see the crocuses! Our snow is receding and I saw some shoots poking up bravely yesterday. Nice motivation list! Anagram  All right. Have come to terms with reality -- behaviour is going to have to change to see the results I want. Going to do it. Let's make this a GREAT week! :cb: :cb: |

(196 yesterday) 3/15/11 196 (194 yesterday) I weighed 194 yesterday... ugh! I should weigh in on Mondays!!! :D Still - the overall trend looks like 2 lbs a week, which confirms that I'm doing this right. YAY Me! Bought a bike and rode on Saturday! Other than nervous husband yelling and sun in my eyes, I had a great time. (I'll do it again - with a visor and no husband.) Arabella: YAY for reinvigorating your mojo!! You go girl! Anagram: YAY for moving in the right direction! We can do it! Natamars: Since I haven't reached a plateau yet, and am nowhere near maintainance weight, I have no personal experience to pass on. However; Dr. Beck states that your "goal" weight and "maintainable" weight may not be one and the same. MAYBE, since you seem to have stablized at 137 this is your maintainable weight? You are working out quite a bit, and eating well - are you logging in every bite to be certain calories are on track? I've read that a set-point can be broken by adjusting your calories UP for a week or so, then plunging back down. ???? Just rambling here. I added the set-point article to my blog - you can click through to it if you'd like to read it. ***You are still my inspiration! Staci: I'm sure you'll show a loss tomorrow. Have a great week everyone! |
Great job everyone! I did not weigh this week. We had a passing in the family Tuesday morning so I completely forgot. I'm not even counting points this week, I will get back on track next week when we get back to our normal routine. Just wanted to check in so I don't let myself get out of hand and wanted to see how everyone did so far!

binge binge binge - damn
 Up 4 yesterday and afraid to step on the scale today. I'm gonna try to fast today. Really binged last night and am very disappointed in myself. Very upset that husband keeps bringing garbage food into the house. WHY? Because HE can stop at just one, and then the remainder sits there... and sits there... until I cave in and demolish the whole thing. This sends me on a rampage through kitchen until every last morsel of junk has been consummed. Damn  Will I ever get control of this?
It started with the bikini shot from the rear... ugh. I've been spiraling toward oblivion since that. Someone kick me into next week please, maybe even next month... I need to get through this. I've been here before and it's so maddening that I'm here again. :hun: :jeno: :m: :chockiss: :cheese: :corn: :rollpin: :frypan: |

Hope everyone has a great week! |
A couple of bad days in the past couple of weeks but I'm mainly on track. Started tracking everything again and still getting in my exercise. I'm going to be travelling this week, so will have to be extra vigilant.

And I bet it's even more fun once you get over the "two left feet" style that I've been rockin'. Anagram, guests and eating out may not be excuses, but they sure can be challenges. You'll be back in business this week. K, gotta scoot. Let's make this a GREAT week! :cb: :cb: |

I have been switching up my work outs and hope to push that number down under 190 by May 1st. We'll see! I'd love any suggestions on getting the weight to start comming off without bouncing around. Tons of challenges in the next 4 days, though. Thinking of doing the 4-day belly fat cure intro next Tuesday-Friday..got the book from the library. Gwen, what plan are you following? I calorie-count and based on my BMR, exercise level, and intake I should be losing 1.5/week, but it often doesn't work out that way. Hormones, water weight, bathroom issues can easily throw things off. anagram, you're still in onederland..stay strong! staci, wow - your losses have been fantastic! arabella, nice week!!!!! |
Vow to do better!
So, yeah, then a less careful week, a couple of salty snacks on the weekend and 2 of the 2.6 have returned. This week: back to counting everything and staying OP!

(196 yesterday) 3/15/11 196 (194 yesterday) 3/29/11 195 (194 on 4/1) 4/5/11 195 4/12/11 195 It's been 195 every day this week... no more bouncing scale. Just stuck. I WILL break through this plateau!!! Any day now the scale will just drop 5 lbs. (ha) I've been reading a book that suggests our minds control our bodies, even so far as to either lose or retain weight depending upon how our thoughts are bending. Does anyone believe that? I've been trying to think positively (which can't hurt anyway) and putting hypnotic suggestions out to my body... "the fat is melting off my body" "all this exercise is really working" etc... but, maybe all the subconscious thoughts like "yeah right... you'll be stuck at this weight forever" have more control then the conscious thoughts? |
