Apple- Day 18!! You're doing awesome!!

Prepping- Day 5 You're doing great!!

    Quote:
my fingers are for you too! but whatever your scale shows really just a number - the greater worked you did happened on the INSIDE of your body more muscles and more stamina and such so you are a double winner!
Thanks Unwanted37!! I feel so much better now that I've started pushing myself with jogging, only a little at first but I want to eventually be able to run!!! I am soo sore today, everywhere, was jogging uphill yesterday
I guess the working out harder is working because I stepped on my scale this morning for my weigh in and I was shocked! 164.8 lbs!!! Thats down 4.4lbs!! I couldnt believe it, I did it 3 times to make sure. I'm so happy I'm below my prepregnancy weight I'm predicting a small loss next weigh in because I've had two good ones but doesnt matter because I feel GREAT and I'm NOT giving up!!

Day 11 is completed on the Apple Challenge

Sorry, people, I don't feel much like writing, but I am reading and supporting your efforts.
My old cat is dying, slowly failing and it's hard to see. His sister went last year. Every night when I return home, every morning when I wake up, I wonder if he'll still be alive and that I wouldn't have been there for him. On the other hand, to watch him dying an entire day like I watched his sister is heart-breaking too. I hope he goes easily. He is very old, which makes it harder. He has hung on nearly a year longer but I see him going the same way, by kidney failure and that is not nice to see. I don't think I could bring myself to have him put to sleep though and it's very hard to find a vet here that will do it. Any way, it'll be hard to see him go. He has slept under my covers with me every night.
  • We've got a good run of days going in here! wtg everyone!
I went spinning for an hour followed by yoga last night. my muscles are jello and it's wonderful.

    6 glorious days!!
    - Alcohol in moderation (max 1 glass on weekdays, 3 on weekends): 2 of 3 pauses left
    - NO junk food: 2 of 3 pauses left
    - 30 min of activity/day: 3 of 3 pauses left
  • red, oh I'm so so very sorry to hear your troubles. It's absolutely heartbreaking to go through that with your fuzzy little family member. But he did lead a good long life so you can take comfort in the fact that he was happy, loved, and well taken care of for his time.

I've gone through this time and time again (only one animal in my life had ever made it to pass away from old age). My latest happening last October.

my thoughts go out to you.
  • Day 20 completed, run! No pauses left
Yesterday I had to do a wii run to get the run in. I don't think I should do that anymore, it seems to bother my knee. My calorie mini challenge is out the window, but I'll be really good today and tomorrow. After that we are into Easter week-end and I'll do my best not to pig out. After Easter I really have to crack down. I keep saying that. I have to act on it or I'm going to be really upset with myself. The weather here is getting warm and I can't hide under layers of clothes anymore. And I hate my fat arms SOO much...
Everyone is doing so well!! Caleighsmom, I am way jealous. I am hoping to report a great weigh-in next week. At least something!! Great job!!
Red, I remember your sad cat news from last year. It sounds nice that he sleeps with you, you must both be comforted by that. Its just about a month since I had to euthanize my old dog. It's sad, but knowing they had a long and happy life makes it a lot easier. Great job with the apples, by the way.
Hello to prep, sara, Jess and 37! Keep it up girls!
  • day 6 of 3 miles walk complete
  • Thursday morning here, early. I left an apple at work so I'll have to wait till I get in there to eat it. I'm finding it's better to get it eaten first thing in the morning or at least cut and packed. Though, yesterday, I ate it walking home late. I didn't want to wait until I got home in case my old fella was gone and I couldn't eat it. Is that kind of ridiculous that I think the challenge is that important?
As for my Super Challenge, I am not declaring it, but I am doing well. I'm going to try days (maybe weeks) of trial, which takes the pressure off. When I'm getting good days on end, I'll declare it.

    **************

prepping -- Thanks so much for your kind words. They mean a lot, especially when the person has been there before, as you say you have, many times. Thanks. And congratulations on your "6 glorious days!"

Apple -- Thank you too. Yeah, you were here then with his sister. Because of her, I know the signs. He is hanging on much longer. He was a very strong cat and he keeps trying to keep doing the things he always did. I hate to have to go to work and leave him. I wish I could just spend all this time together with him. He craves being with me and craves attention, not like his sister, who was a real loner. At least there is another cat who stays with him. The other one is a loner too.
I can't believe you have 20 days down on your challenge. That is awesome! I feel the same way about the layers of clothes. I am dreading having nothing to hide under. In fact, I don't any longer as it's warm here. And not being able to ride because my horse has girth galls is packing on the fat. It's awful. I'm just trying to overcome this all but not letting my emotions cave me in as they usually do, or did.

    unwanted -- Good for you!

  • Twelve down, working on 13....
Day 12 (from Thursday) is done on the Apple Challenge. Hurrah!

My old guy is still hanging in there though he can barely walk. One of my other cats keeps him company so I don't feel so bad when I'm away at work. I planned to stay home today in case he looked real bad or had already died, but he's still going so in to work I go.

    **************

Caleigh -- Thanks for your warm words. The end is always tough but I've had far worse with my lifelong menagerie of animals -- the sudden deaths, the illnesses, the injuries. Dying of old age is the most natural way and I can't complain. He's just been a presence and a literal and figurative source of warmth for me since he is the most affectionate of my cats and very vocal. In fact, the neighborhood will miss him because they always heard him crying when I came home. He would wait outside and greet me and demand food. Now, though he can barely walk, he comes out into the kitchen and demands his favorite special food, a Japanese food made with crabmeat.
Caleigh, you are on a roll. Use it and enjoy it!

Sara -- There you are! Good work. You're looking good! Thanks, too, for your words.

prepping -- Three cheers for a successful WEEK!!

unwanted -- Very quiet but doing your thing. Good for you.
