Worldly Chicks - Ready, Forward, "March"
Wow, I didn't realize until I walked past the calendar that we are into March already.
So maybe our goal will be to get a little extra movement as we go through the month. I have to peek back at the old thread to see if I made my February goals. Be right back... |
Ok, so I didn't lose the 4 pounds I was supposed to. I had a bump last week and have been working hard to overcome it.
I did pretty well with journalling my points. I started exercising but was not as regular about it as I need to be. My March goals are to keep journalling and planning my meals, up the exercise to at least 3 days a week on a REGULAR basis and to declutter something at least 4 days a week - even if it's one thing that takes 5 minutes. Mel - YOU GAVE AWAY YOUR MUSIC COLLECTION????  I could think of maybe 4 CDs I have that we not such good buys but I certainly could not part with enough of them to make a group go into a frenzy  I think I'd rather give up the TV  Ok, back to meal planning... |
Thank you Happy!!!! Forward March I like it!!!!
Be back later! Rose |

Morning all,
Sorry I didn't get in all weekend although I did read most of the posts. I was busy doing some gardening with R and we went out to the other side of the city on Saturday to get some Australian natives. The side of the house is now resplendent with Kangaroo paws in varying shades of yellow and orange and a Grevillea called Bonny Prince Charlie. We bought two of these which are collectively now known as the Charlies in the garden. Seems like while we have been having end of summer balmy weather with a few showers here and there, you lot have been going back into the depths of winter and having fun in the snow. Yesterday after we planted the wee paws and the charlies, we went down to a place called Williamstown to have brunch and stopped off on the seawall to watch the black swans and eat ice cream. There was also a speedboat race going on out to sea a bit. The filming helicopters were so low and so close to the boats that I can't see how they could see anything for the spray of the wake. After a while it was about as exciting as watching paint dry or the grass grow so we came back to R's house and I stopped off at the shop to buy me some books to read. The afternoon was quiet and peaceful but it got very cold after a while and I had to find something warm to wear. I can see I will have to get myself some warm gear if I am to last down here. May is not really winter in Melbourne but if yesterday is any example, it will be a close run thing for this hot house flower. End of Feb goals, Happy. I think I said I wanted to lose 4kg. Well I have lost 2. So somethings do happen in this body from time to time. I'll try for 4 again this month. I guess I had better go find some work to do. Can't muck around here when there is so much stuff going on. But WHERE do I start??? Sorry about the lack of personals. I'll try to get back later to do those. Thanks for starting up March Happy. I like the title. |
Happy Monday ladies -
Happy March! I had a wonderful weekend! I spent Friday night and part of Saturday doing website work, laundry, cleaning and catching up with some old friends by phone and internet chat. On Sunday, DH and I went to the dog show, and had such a great time seeing (and petting and hugging) all the different breeds of dogs. :) And relaxed with the DH in the evening. After work today, I'm planning on going to a PT approved strength training class. I'm ready to forward March with journaling my points, eating more veggies, doing PT exercises daily, strength training 2x a week, cardio 3x a week, and yoga 1x per week. Mel - Yes, you and I need to both be good girls so that we can enjoy the spring/summer with little or preferably NO pain! I'm glad the Zyrtec is helping your eye pain. Hopefully you'll be able to find something soon that does the job without making you foggy. I hear you got a big snow storm. So stay inside and stay warm. We had our warm (well mid to upper 20s), sunny day on Saturday, and it felt SO good! :) Ceejay - I'm glad the new employee is working out well! Maybe that will take a little of the pressure (and crazy hours) away from you. I'll try and post a picture of the recumbent stepper. It's hard to explain. I hope the new buds and flowers survived the snow. Happy - Snow over the weekend and 70 degrees by Friday?! That crazy...but I would definitely take even a 50 degree day or two right about now. Your house is sure beautiful. And with it all covered in snow, it looks like it could be up here in IL or WI. 5" of snow for you and Ceejay? Wow, that sounds like the storms we get up here. Shad - Congratulations on the weight loss! It sounds like you had a lovely weekend! Thanks for posting the flower photos. They're so unusual. The black swans sound beautiful. Find yourself some warmer gear so that you don't get chilled. Should I send you some Wisconsin winter gear? Of course that might be way too heavy for Melbourne. Annie, Nae and Ruth - I hope you had a great weekend! Here's to a great week for all of us! Love and hugs, |

This is my PT approved cardio machine for now. When my back gets better, I can graduate to treadmill, elliptical and eventually back to the fun classes.

Happy Monday Ladies............
Oh Shad, planting season is about to arrive here in Indiana. Whew Whoooo! I love gardening. Happy...thanks for starting the new month...March Madness, shu weee! What a great weekend. Went to watch my bro's band Friday night. We had so much fun. Danced my pants off. Yesterday Tony took me out to eat at Claddagh's Irish pub. We had fish and chips, eggrolls with corned beef, cabbage, potato and cheese in them, which were fantastic. Stopped at Sam's Wholesale club and bought 60 bucks with of fresh fruit and vegetables. I have enough for lunch this entire week and then dinner too! Yummy Saturday I just laid around most of the day recouping from Friday night. I did go over to my mom & dads, took a card and flowers to celebrate their 61st wedding anniversay. Hard to believe people can stay married that long, especially when they didn't even like each other for some of that time. haha Not much else going on here. Very cold this morning, but unlike some of the other worldlies-no snow! It was 15 degrees this AM, high today 28. Supposed to be 60 by week's end. Thank you Jesus. Hello, good morning and have a great day everyone. Love and Hugs |
Good Morning Ms. Michelle, we posted at the same time. Take is easy working back into exercising. Don't want you down and out.
|
Happy Monday ladies,
One thing about snow, it surely makes the sunshine EXTRA bright  I guess the afternoon sun is stronger than the morning sun because my neighbor across the street has no more snow yet on my side the yard is still covered under several inches and the only thing that is dry is the sidewalk. It looks really funny! I hope the snow melts soon as it's heavy and wet and weighing down the bushes. Things are starting to bloom now and while the Japanese Maple is ok, I'm hoping it doesn't wreck the azaleas as DH thinks they were going to be especially pretty this year. It was a good weekend for staying in tho I did make DH go grocery shopping with me yesterday  I am happy to say I got the temporary pudge off me and am back to where I started weight wise 2 weeks ago - hoping to have a good weigh in this week. Meals are all planned out. I made a chicken and bell peppers dish yesterday that I did not care for but DH liked it. Good thing because there are left overs and I won't be eating them - actually they might make a good sandwich on Italian bread now that I think of it... I do have a recipe for the Subway Sweet Onion and Teryaki Chicken Sauce. Going to try it and if it comes out well, I will print it. Speaking of recipes I know I owe you guys some... My favorite breakfast right now - Fruit and Yogurt Parfait 1 serving, 6/8 points 1 LF vanilla yogurt 1/3 cup Uncle Sam Flax Seed Cereal handful 1/3 cup fresh blueberries, strawberries or sliced banana 7 pecan halfs chopped into smaller bits dump the yogurt in a dish. Add cereal on one side of the bowl, sprinkle with pecans. Add fruit on the other side of the bowl. Eat and enjoy. You can also layer this in a parfait glass if you like. All ingredients are good for you and the protein will help stave off hunger until lunch. Typically, if I eat cereal I am hungry an hour later but this combo works for me. It doesn't get you bloated full but it's a quick breakfast. I measure portions of the fruit and cereal & nuts in snack sized bags and grab it to take it to work with me. DH likes it too. Uncle Sam Cereal can be found in the cereal aisle where they have the organic cereals and off the wall brands. On it's own it's pretty tasteless but it's great with this, is low glycemic, full of good stuff and has a great crunch to it. 8 WW points if you use the red 99% FF Yoplait yogurt, 6 points if you use the blue carton Light style (which has artificial sweetner in it). You can cut out 2.5 points by cutting out the pecans, but i really think it adds to the dish and it's a filling good kind of fat. This is a recipe I got at the meeting a few weeks ago. It's not bad. Certainly not as good as the "real thing" but you get used to it fast as you learn to change your tastes. Hamburger Stroganoff - 4 servings, 5 points each 8 oz (half pound) lean ground beef - I used ground sirloin 1/2 cup diced onion 2 cups COOKED wide egg noodles 1 can FF cream of mushroom soup 1 can sliced or 1 cup fresh cleaned and sliced mushrooms (optional) 1/4 cup LF sour cream salt and pepper to taste Brown ground beef and onion. Add mushrooms and cook for a 10 minutes until beef is no longer raw and mushrooms and onion are soft. Drain fat. Stir in cooked noodles, soup. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer about 5 to 10 minutes. If the mix is thick you can add a spoon or two of water but don't thin it too much as this has a tendency to thin out as the leftovers sit in the refrigerator. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream before serving. Serve with a hot green vegetable and a cool, crisp salad. I divided this up into 4 servings and stored the rest in containers. This was good for lunch. |
And now to personals...
Mel - I hope you are not buried under that snowstorm that is heading east! Take care and stay warm and dry. Well maybe scoop some snow off a window ledge and hurl it at a passing fireman :snowball: I hope it does not create a hassle for you and the seniors. Annie - Irish eggrolls. Now there's an interesting thought. That is amazing - congrats to your parents on such an enduring partnership! I will be married half that long - 32 years on Thursday. And I have to say, there have been years that DH and I were not so liking each other too. I think in a way, that's a sign of a lasting relationship - when you hit the skids and are willing to work together AND change the behaviors that got you frowning at each other in the first place. Heaven knows neither of are the people we started out with when we first met in 1972. (she says with just a small tear of regret missing her 28 inch waist  :  ) I'm also glad to hear you are one of the few of us who still gets to dance on a regular basis. I'm jealous  Michelle - I have seen the recumbant bikes at PT and the gym, but not a recumbant stepper. Wow. I find the recumbants MUCH harder than the regular ones. Not much thigh strength I guess. But you go girl! It sounds like you have a great mix of exercise - I will have to follow your lead. And thanks for the compliment on my house. :) Shad - I am a little confused about your planting. Did you buy the plants for your friend's house? Or did you plant them at your new flat? In any event, they are quite pretty. I try to imagine what it must look like in your part of town. Really do wish it was easier to get to the other side of the world to visit as I'm sure we'd spend the whole time going WOW with our mouths open catching various native bugs  And I can't fathom the idea of it being cold 'round your parts. Time to dig out that nice fleece jacket you got in Canada. Speaking of which, I had to call customer service for my American Express card yesterday and got to talking to a lovely agent who lived in Canada. She affirmed that they too are TIRED OF WINTER  Rose - glad you like the new title, seems to fit in with everyone's plans this month. 'Morning Ceejay - you must be busy training your new person. And I'm back to my charts and spreadsheets :comp: |

|
Forward March indeed! February was a crappy month for me and I weighed in exactly the same as at the start. This just has to stop. I fully intend to lose 5 pounds this month and am telling the world that.
Been pretty involved with "troubles", not mine but my friend Claire's family and am also dealing with bucking up my dear friend Shirleyanne who goes for an operation for bladder cancer tomorrow. We've been friends since we were both eighteen and through a lot of Life together. We plan on at least 30 more years of it. There were four funerals during the month to add to the joy! Luckily nobody close. Spoke to the Baptist minister after one of them and he told me he no longer performs wedding ceremonies. He says he prefers funerals because they last and some of his marriages don't! I snorted my tea back into the cup in a true ladylike fashion. Looked in my garden journal from 2008 and found that our snow didn't really start to go until April. Of course there was a lot more of it last year so I'm hoping this year's crop goes faster. We will be in deep cold until the weekend but then there'll be another melt. The lads at the diner will be making noises about tapping the maples and syrup making soon. Nice to see the Worldlies still here and Marching On. Hugs to all. |

It's a cool, grey and damp Melbourne morning. I'm considering taking a walk to check out the distance and time to the new apartment which I shift into next week. I guess I had better talk to the wee lady again about times for picking up keys etc. as well. Not much going on here apart from work, more work and lots of stuff I can only hazard a guess about. I think I might be quite knowledgeable by the time I have finished here. Happy - well done on the removal of the temporary pudge. Always an achievement. Not saying that was easy, but it does seem to be easier to get off the recent stuff than trying to shift the old, hard and settled flab. Or is that just my imagination. We were planting the Kangaroo Paws in R's yard. We heaved out some huge clumps of Agapanthus and put in the natives. There isn't room for a garden in my apartment. Enjoy the charts and presentations Yahoo. Michelle - glad to hear you are taking the advice of the PT. The weekend sounded like fun. We don't get as cold here as in your part of the world and I'm just being wussy because I am no longer in a sub-tropical climate. Melbourne is known to have 4 seasons in one day. At the moment we are bracing for high winds and scorching temps, which will undo all the good the poor old firefighters have been doing. Hopefully the drizzle will help to dampen down the ashes and prevent other fires from starting. They could do with a break or two from Mother Nature. Annie - sounds like you had a great weekend as well. Dancing? What's that again???? Mel - might be a good idea to get thermals. Not so sure about the ones with the flaps though. They could prove interesting. Got :crossed: for your coming interviews. Can't they think of someone more deserving to harass??? Ruth - Tapping noises again. How the seasons roll around. My best wishes to Claire and Doug and their family 'troubles' and big  to Shirleyanne for being brave through her operation. I can just see you two old darlinks hooting up on the 100th birthday of one of you. Swinging from the chandeliers in the saloon bar. And to Madcat - who may not be reading this as I saw her sister is back in hospital again and a miracle is needed for her - :grouphug: and well done on taking the troubles out on the treadmill. YGG. I'd better go. I've some Danes to persuade that they really need to take away batch management on our materials since the whole thing is causing strife and is definitely not needed - not the strife or the batch management!!!! Have a happy day. |
RUTH~ SENDING YOU A HUG  FOR ALL THE SAD TIMES YOU'VE BEEN HAVING AND I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE FRIEND'S HEALTH. SAYING A LITTLE PRAYER FOR HER. THE PASTOR GAVE ME A LAUGH TOO. TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN! STAY WELL AND WARM!!
HAPPY~ I VISUALIZED THE FLAPS AND I THINK SHAD IS RIGHT....THEY MIGHT PROVE TOO INTERESTING TO HER!!! :lol3: :lol3: SHAD~ YOU HAVE AN INTERSTING ENOUGH LIFE WITHOUT ADDING FLAPS TO IT SO I'LL SEND THE FLAPLESS ONES OR STITCH THEM UP!!! WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED I TOLD YOU YOU WILL BE THE :queen: OF TURBINES!! HOPE THE DANES LISTENED!! JEN SAYS THANKS FOR THE GOOD THOUGHTS....SHE WILL NEED THEM SHE SAID! IT IS ONLY 12 DEGREES HERE THIS MORNING SO I HAVE CANCELED FOOD SHOPPING. THE WIND IS A BIT MUCH AND GOD KNOWS WHAT THAT MAKES THE TEMPERATURE! MUCH TOO COLD FOR ME THOUGH:brr: I HAVE LOTS TO KEEP ME BUSY. SO I AM OFF TO INVESTIGATE MY OPTIONS AND HAVE BREAKFAST :hun: HAPPY TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY :moped: |
Morning chicks,
Quickee post for me this am. We seem to have another cat (female) that is trying to adopt us. She's been coming around and we fed her. Last night DH petted her head, she plopped down on the blanket and (DH said) she waited for us to let her in the house. She gave up the blanket and walked away, 5 minutes later, Mr. Feral was all snuggled into the new set of blankets I laid out on the porch. Such is life at a cat flop house - move fast or you lose your bed. Mr. Feral had a nice comfy sleep, he's still curled up this morning. Brrrr. Mel. I am so ready to be done with the cold too. One more day for us. I heard on the news that it's been 40 years since they had that much snow here. I'm surprised the city has not come to a grinding halt though I hear the highways were backed up for 9 hours the day of the snows. Sorry you had to cancel shopping - what's for breakfast? I have pancakes, english muffins, eggs, yogurt and berries - take your pick. :hungry: Madcat  for you and your sweet sis. Shad - did you find your Danes? Maybe you need to set out a trail of Danish biscuits to snare them  Glad you got an apartment. Are you near the fires? Nice to see you Ruth. and good thoughts for Shirleyanne. I made the Sweet Onion Chicken Teryaki sauce yesterday. Not too bad. Not exactly like the sandwich shoppe but still with the sweet/sour sugar/vinegar thing. It was 1 point per tablespoon full and it actually did make a good sandwich. I will post the recipe later. Gotta run now, early morning meeting. to the chicks I didn't get to. Will try and catch up at lunch. :grouphug: to all - stay warm and cozy. |
Happy Cold Tuesday...
MEL...We were much warmer than you this morning...a high of 14 degrees. I am so ready for cold weather to be gone. Happy...I guess what you are saying is you run a cat house. hahaha Ruth...hope your March is a little more mellow for you. Shad...how's the new joint working out for you? Michelle....did the exercising get you down? Not much going on here either. I put together pizza noodle casserole last night to throw in the oven tonight when Tony comes over. Thinking about a salad and maybe garlic toast to go with it. Probably ghetto garlic toast. We leave for St. Louis Friday night. Will get to see little Miss Olivia. She is already 6 mos old. Time sure flies. Samantha, her BF, Tony and I are all going out. This should be interesting. We have never gone away together. Hard to believe T and I will be together 6 months in a week or so. Amazing. Tony is still teetering on the job front. They will know more come April 1. His company is offering a buy out of 60K per person in hopes not to lay anyone off. He is thinking of taking it and going back to school full time. He will have enough with the buy out, 401K, and savings to live about 3 years. The only thing he will not have is health benefits, which could get scarey as he still is responsible for his two sons that are 17. Big decisions on his part. I am staying out of it. Don't want to be responsible for any mishaps. Better get to work. Got lots on my plate today. Also eating like a horse for some reason. MOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Oh that would be a cow. Hello to all. Love and hugs. |
Hi everyone -
I'm doing great! I had fun at the gym last night doing a killer strength training class which really worked the entire body. Then I did 1/2 hour on the recumbent stepper. Afterward, I went home, ate dinner, showered and relaxed. Tonight, I'm hoping to do an Abs class followed by a Yoga class. I'm crazy busy at work today...but I'm not complaining...it keeps me out of trouble (yeah, right!). Anyway, I'd better get back to work. I'll be back later to do personals. Love and hugs to all, |
A TURKEY MEATLOAF IS IN THE OVEN. SOME SALAD IS ALL CUT UP AND I ALREADY EXERCISED. CAN YOU TELL THE DAY IS GOING WELL? THE PHONE IS TURNED OFF AND I AM GETTING A LOT MORE DONE THAT WAY. I AM FEELING EMPOWERED THIS WEEK. IT ALL STARTED WITH THE SPRING-LIKE DAY LAST WEEK AND THEN THE SNOWSTORM BOOSTED IT UP TO A HIGHER LEVEL. WEIRD HUH? BUT THEN I HAVE NEVER BEEN NORMAL AT ANYTHING!!
A FRIEND AND I, AT HER SUGGESTION, HAVE BEEN DRESSING UP RATHER THAN DOWN ON FRIDAYS SINCE LAST MONTH..NOTHING FANCY BUT NO JEANS OR SWEATS. I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT I HAVE BEEN FEELING BETTER...EVEN WHEN I DON'T GO OUTSIDE!! GO FIGURE. NOW I AM GOING TO LOOK AT THE WEATHER CHANNEL AND THEN PICK AN OUTFIT FOR FRIDAY! :belly: http://images-partners-tbn.google.co...le_628x371.jpg A NO SALT-ADDED TURKEY MEATLOAF 1 egg white (beaten, not frothy) ¼ cup ground oats (grind in a coffee grinder...i also use flavored breadcrumbs instead) ½ teaspoon onion powder 1/8 cup finely chopped onion 1 tablespoon fresh snipped parsley (I use dried) 1 teaspoon Mrs. Dash Table Blend (I use my own mix) ¼ - ½ teaspoon oregano ¼ teaspoon sweet basil 1 lb ground turkey breast TOPPING ¼ cup ketchup 2 tablespoons Splenda (I use a dash of real sugar) 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/8 teaspoon black pepper Pre-heat oven to 350º Mix together the egg white, ground oats, onion, onion powder, parsley, Mrs. Dash, basil and oregano. Add in ground turkey mixing it well. Put mixture into the loaf pan and pat it down. Bake in oven until you meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 165º (about 45 - 60 minutes- the leaner your turkey is, the faster it will cook.) Meanwhile, Mix together the ketchup, dry mustard, Splenda and pepper. When the meatloaf is finished add the ketchup mixture to the top and cook an additional 10 minutes. (I usually put it on right from the beginning) |
I CANNOT "SEE" MADCAT MISS HAPPY! BUT MAYBE SHE IS IN OUR HEADS & HEARTS...OF SO I SEND SOME GOOD THOUGHTS AN HUGS ALONG WITH YOURS

HAD I KNOW YOU WERE DOING SO MUCH I WOULD HAVE PASSED ON MY PEDALING AND LET YOU DO IT !!! :ebike: |
Hello Ladies,
Still battling this cold/sinus. At night is when it's worse with the coughing. I have NOT worked out at all this week. I'm planning on taking a day or two vacation this week and next. Maybe i can just rest and recoup. Mitchellez - Glad to hear the PT is working. I know you in a hurry to get back to your old routine, but take it easy. You'll get there. Mel - thanks for the receipe. Glad you having a wonderful day. Annie - 14degrees. that is cold. Our temp have been up and down, that's probably why i have this cold/sinsus. Sounds like an exciting trip this weekend. First trips with boyfriends always make me nervous. I"ll keep Tony in my prayers. He has some big decisions to make. Shad - hope you had a good walk this morning. I hope you were able to get things settled for your move in. Happy - your breakfast selection sounded good. Do you think the new cat might try and go at Mr Feral.? Ruth - Let's both March out of a crappie month... March on... I too am looking forward to doing some planting. Do you have a full garden? I just plant in big garden pots. |

PATTY...HOPE YOU WILL BE FEELING MUCH BETTER WHEN YOU REST UP AND RECOUP YOUR STRENGTH! |
Just popping into say hello. I'm still busy at work.
Mel I like your routine. Sounds like mine. |
Geez Mel - I went to Google to look up Union Suit. It's a bit much for this hour of the morning - Puhlllllleeeeeeezzzzze.
I entered 'Union Long Johns' and clicked on images and there were a stack of drawings of union suits and long johns. At the end of the first page of pictures something caught my eye and yes HE was wearing a red union suit but it was not done up and three guesses as to what he had in his hand. Eeeeeuuuuuuuu - this is not a regular sight at 8.30am. in Melbourne or anyplace else I have visited for that matter. Turkey meatloaf sounds nice. Happy - do you have one of those invisible signs outside the gate. "Strays Pet Motel". All welcome but please one at a time. You will spend your super on cat food!!! Teriyaki stuff sounds good as well. I might try some of these things when I get into the apartment - which will be next Tuesday. Annie - 6 months :woohoo: with T. I hope he finds some relief on the workfront soon. Maybe if he does decide on school, he can do some maths on the health benefits. If he and the kids don't use it that often, he might be better off funding it himself. I do this. I refuse to take out health insurance but I put away a lump sum and then something smaller every month. It's there earning interest if I need it and if I don't well it makes a great holiday package!! I've been round the world twice on my medical benefits. Good reward for staying well, eating well, and looking after yourself. It is a bit of a gamble, but in my case it is worth it. Michelle - were all those activities PT recommended???? :yikes: take it easy woman. Patty - hope they come up with something to tame this sinus infection shortly. Seems you have had this forever. I shift into my Apartment on Tuesday. I am going for a walk at lunch time - provided it is not too hot to find out how long it will take to walk to and from work. According to the map it is 1.2k and will take 24 mins. But I don't know whether the map is just making assumptions because it can or because someone 6'6" actually walked it. Anyway, that's what I will do. This weekend is a long weekend in Victoria. R and I are going to Philip Island to watch the penguins come ashore. I will take the camera and take photos as I can. I have seen the penguins before but not the nightly show where the whole bunch waddle out of the sea and make their way to their burrows. It should be fun. It is about 2 hours drive from Melbourne and not near the fires. And I'm not near the fires either. They are around 11/2 to 2 hours drive to the north east of here. My apartment is about a block from the Southbank promenade and river. Better get on with it. I'll try to get back in here later. |
And I forgot to mention I lost another 1kg this week. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
|
Happy March Worldly Chickies!!!!! Madly waving HI!!!
|
SHAD~  LET ME GUESS....IT WASN'T A TURKEY MEATLOAF?????:lol3: :lol3: I SHOULD TRY GOOGLOMG MORE OFTEN!!! CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 1K!!!! YOU'RE ON A ROLL. THE GOVT THINKS I CAN FOLLOW THEM AROUND FROM OFFICE TO OFFICE AND I NEED PHONE INTERVIEWS :faint: THIS SAGA MAY NEVER END. IN THE MEANTIME THE LADY LIED AND THEY DID TAKE MONEY OUT OF MY CHECK :tantrum: I AM REALLY SO SICK OF ALL THIS AND THEIR UNCARING ATTITUDE. SIGH. OK I AM OFF TO FIGHT THE FORCES OF EVIL  ALSO.... TOMORROW IS TRADER JOES SO I WON'T BE BACK TILL LATE AFTERNOON. HAVE A GREAT DAY.:moped: |
Good morning chicks - it's supposed to be 60 degrees today. Last of the snow should melt. Buh-bye. Looking forward to the warmer weather even if it will bring the rains with it.
Mel - good luck with the g-men. I'm really sorry you have to suffer so much and explain again, and again, and AGAIN. They really need to spend their time on the real cheaters and leave those doing the right thing alone. I hope you connect with the right people and get your money back. Loved your routine - I can relate     Right back at you Holly!   How are you doing? :congrat: Shad on the pounds down :yay: I'll bet that makes you happy. I'm thinking it's the cold weather that did it :s:  Patty - when I was battling the schumutz in the lungs (and it's on temporary hiatus now as it's always around) - the nurse practicioner suggested a cough medicine with a suppresant at bedtime to get some rest and plain old Mucinex (not Mucinex D or any additives) during the day with lots of water to clear the lungs out. Not sure if that helps with seasonal allergies where the environment is making all the mucus but it's worth a try. I take the Actifed at night when I'm wet and wheezy and that dries me up a bit. Some nights it's just a lost cause tho. Feel better. Michelle - you are an exercise MACHINE - wow - keep up the great work. The woman is back in dah house  Annie - pizza noodle casserole, ghetto garlic toast? Sounds interesting but not WW points friendly so maybe I'm better off not knowing. 6 months with Tony already! Congrats to you both... Good morning Ceejay, Ruth and the rest of the crew. Gotta run, I swore I'd get to work earlier today. |
Good Morning Worldlies..........
Shad...congrats on the loss...you go girl. I would love to see the penguins. Do take some pix if possible. MEL...the turkey meatloaf sounds scrumptious...send some my way. YUM. You are like me, sick to death of fighting for everything due you in life. Right now I am fighting the insurance company for a new roof that got half blown away. Michelle...you impress the socks right off of me with your exercising. Exercise Goddess, you. Happy...Hidee Ho!! Hollybelle...Howdie to you too, my friend. Miss you bunches. Patty.. you poor thing, you have had one long battle with the sinuses, etc. Do feel better. Ceejay...Hey to you...you busy little beaver. Not much going on here. Mr. T came over last night for dinner. We had an enjoyable evening. I think Hella Bella is in love with T. She tends to bark at us when he kisses or hugs me. LOL Hello to all the Worldly Girlies... Much Love and Many Hugs |
Heeellllooooo from the wilderness of ID, Hope all is well with everyone! Nice to see a few of our good friends stopping by to wave!!! Come again soon!
I have just today to put in and then Toby and I are off on a little trip over the mountains to see a former neighbor and friend. It should be lots of fun....I will try to walk as much as I eat and drink>>>>>is that possible????? If laughter could take off the pounds I should come back home skinny!!!! I am down 7lbs. since the beginning of the year....ugh that was tougher than I thought it might be but there is more to conquer. My yoga class is kicking my behind!!!! Happy the house looks so wintery dressed in its white garment. Hope all the plants survive the little nip of winter. You have so many great plants to enjoy in that part of the world. I went into the basement and found my tulips were growing despite absolutely no attention whatsoever...so I brought them up and plopped a few bulbs throughout some pots in the house....oh joy I may have blossoms someday soon! Joy, the pics are so unique of those plants. What fun! Hope you get settled soon and it turns out to be a good thing. Maybe a handsome neighbor or two!!!! Do tell> Mel, you sound great! Hope you are able to get out and about soon. It was so fun to show my patient the chair she can't take it home til next week but the sense of relief and calm was very cool to see in her. I do hope everyone else is doing well and getting healthy and leaving those colds and flus behind. SPring is almost here sooner for some than other of us in the North. Loved the comment Ruth from the minister....it is a great comment. What would we do without humor in our worlds. Family stuff going on in my little clan..... I am just remaining calm in the midst of it and sending good thoughts good vibes to my little tribe. Peace to all the Worldlies, Rose |
OMG...just went to the breakroom to get my morning cup and someone left Girl Scout DO SI DO cookies on the table. DSD are my weakness. I ate 3 before I realized what I had done. Now my tummy is rumbling and about to poof out of my skin. I feel like poo. Why oh why did I do that. I am such a boobie. Someone beat me. :barf: barfing now.:cookie:

Good morning ladies -
Another crazy busy day of work ahead....but I'm enjoying it. Last night, I went to the gym and did 15 minutes of recumbent stepper, followed by 20 minutes of Abs class, followed by 1/2 hour of yoga. I felt WONDERFUL when I left the gym. I'm a bit sore today...mostly in my glutes...must be 'cause I worked my butt off! :lrofl: I don't know if I'm quite at exercise goddess or queen status yet, but I'm getting there....I LOVE those endorphins! Tonight, I think I'll take a rest from the gym and just do my PT exercises and relax with DH :) Anyway, I'd better get back to work. I'll be back later to do personals. Love and hugs to all, |
I JUST HAD TO COME HERE BETWEEN CALLS. THE GOVT SAYS I HAVE 3 PROBLEMS:
1- I TURN 62 THIS MONTH MAKING ME ELIGIBLE FOR SOME RETIREMENT SOCIAL SECURITY 2- I HAVE PUT IN ENOUGH MONEY INTO SOC. SECURITY TO APPLY FOR FULL DISABILITY 3- JEN AND I HAVE THE JOINT ACCOUNT WITH ACCESSIBLE MONEY TO BOTH OF US SO THIS MAN SAID WE COULD HAVE 2 PHONE INTERVIEWS TO TRY AND STRAIGHTEN THIS OUT. NOW I ADDED THE 2ND TO THE CALENDAR. BUT I HAVE TO SAY...THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN THE WORLD HISTORY OF SOCIAL SECURITY BEFORE??? I FIND THAT VERY HARD TO BELIEVE HAVING KNOWN MANY WORKING DISABLED :tantrum: OK GOTTA USE THE PHONE FOR THE NEXT AGENCY NOW BUT I HAD TO COME HERE AND BIOTCH TO MY WORLDLY SISTERS. |
OMG MEL......I am sure you are the very first in history to have this issue, especially since they had a response for you....NOT :luck2you:
|
ROUND 2:
I GOT A CALL BACK AND THEY WILL DEAL WITH THE ISSUES ONE AT A TIME SO IT WILL BE 3 PHONE CALLS:faint: AND I FINALLY GOT THRU TO THE OTHER AGENCY AND THEIR PC HAS BEEND DOWN A FEW DAYS  SHE TOLD ME TO KEEP TRYING AGAIN TOMORROW. SHE WOULDN'T EVEN TALKE MY # AND CALL ME BACK HERSELF. BIOTCHY WITCHY! :witch: IF THIS WASN'T SO RIDICULOUS I REALLY WOULD BE CRYING. BUT I AM LAUGHING AND PACKING MY STUFF AND GETTING CLOTHES OUT FOR TOMORROW'S SHOPPING TRIP. |
Good afternoon ladies -
It's been a long day already and I've still got 2 hours to go. I'm tired. I'm glad I decided to take a break from the gym tonight. I've got a quick errand to run on my way home, then it's home to relax and do PT exercises while I watch TV. Madcat - Sending  and :goodvibes: for you and your sister. Ruth - Sending  to you and :goodvibes: for Shirleyanne and Claire. Out here, they'll be starting to tap the trees soon too. When I was a little girl, I used to go "sugaring" sometimes with my grandpa. We'd tap the trees, collect the sap, and make the syrup. And then we put some of the warm just made syrup on fresh clean snow...Yummm! It sounds weird, but it was sticky, gooey, sweet heaven! Happy - How sweet of you to "adopt" another kitty! Or to let another kitty adopt you! Hopefully, she and Mr. Feral will get along well enough to share the accommodations. 60 degrees? Oh, I so wish it would get that warm here, but at least we're getting temps in the low to mid 40s for the rest of the week! Yay! When you get a chance, can you please post the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sauce recipe, please? Annie - Congrats on 6 months with Tony. :) Pizza noodle casserole sounds yummy! Will you share the recipe please? I'll bet you're so excited for your St. Louis trip! I'm sending :goodvibes: to Tony for his job decision. If he goes back to school full-time, I know some colleges/universities offer health services to students (not sure about families though). Mel - Thanks for the turkey meatloaf recipe! Wishing you much luck and success with the gov't. It seems like the reasons the gov't says you have problems are the reasons they should be paying you $$. :dunno: 3 more phone calls?? That's insane! And the other agency wouldn't even talk to you - their PC has been down for days?? That's ridiculous! Well, enjoy your shopping trip tomorrow! Sending you  and :goodvibes: Patty - I hope you're feeling better. I'm glad to hear you are taking time off to rest and get better. I plant in big garden pots too. I grow tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, squash and green beans. Ceejay - I hope things are going well for you! Shad - Congrats on the weight loss! :woohoo: Don't worry...I am sticking 100% to only PT approved movement. I want to get my back better ASAP and it seems the only way to do that is to listen to my PT. I'm glad your apartment is not near the fires. Have a wonderful time at Philip Island! Say hello  to the penguins for me. Holly - Great to hear from you again! I hope you're doing well. Rose - Congrats on the weight loss! That's wonderful! My yoga class is kicking my behind too. Sending :goodvibes: to you and your clan. I'd better get back to work....so much to get done! Love and hugs, |
Morning - or rather afternoon all,
Just a fly by for me today. I have a desk that resembles Mt Stationery and Mt Technology. 2 computers, 3 big piles of paper. Soon, I will need to take off my shoes and work with my toes. I am woman - I can do anything, probably even work and attend meetings. Mel - at least things are moving - even if it does seem to be sideways. Talk is good, just don't stop. If you make enough noise, then you will get dealt with - works over here. Just keep on complaining - put your medical bills up to them to and let them know that your face looks like it does because they are stressing you out!!!!! Good to hear the chicks are exercising, losing, eating well and getting on with it. I'll be back |
Good Morning Chickies....
We have two out sick this morning. Yikes, I am staying away from their area. Don't want any nasties. Michelle....get your rest girl. Don't want to get run down and get the sickies. The gym can live without you for a night or two. Shad...hmmmmmmmmm, Mt Stationery....can you say shredder? hehe Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. MEL...how's the battle of the govt going today? Got lots of laundry to do tonight, want to run the vacuum, make cupcakes to take to St. Louis, and a few other chores to get done before tomorrow. Hello to everyone. Love and Hugs |
Hi ladies,
Well sadly we had to give the newest kitty the boot out of the yard. I had fed Mr. Feral and the calico yesterday and left for work. Shortly afterwards, DH heard ferocious screeching outside. It even scared our cat who raced upstairs to hide under the bed. He went out and both cats scampered from opposite directions. Mr. Feral went and hid in our storage shed which is his 2nd home after the porch. Calico scampered on the fence where DH chased her away. Apparently they both decided to take refuge in the azaleas after breakfast and neither was happy about the other's choice. Mr. Feral is old and come springtime he gets these bloody sores on his shoulder and bib. The one on his bib was even worse after the fight. So DH said as much as he doesn't want to, no more feeding of Miss Calico. She is a good size so even tho she eats like she hasn't had a meal in a week, she is not looking scrawny by any means. DH is also worried because she has front claws that she might go after our cat too although Boo runs her right out of the yard when she sees her. So such is life in the cat house. The calico came by several times last night and is lurking this morning - I'm sure she does not understand why all of a sudden the gravy train has stopped. In other news, today is our wedding anniversary. 32 long years ago. Me in platform shoes and a size 3 wedding dress - you've come a lonnnnng way baby  Shad - I like your "mountain range" - come to think of it, your desk sounds like it looks like the all the ones on the other side of the building with all the SAP folks. Hope you get on top of things. Michelle - lettuce in pots? Really? I would think that would require a larger field to plant. I am torn between planting a pot garden or just doing flowers and getting the vegetables from the local farmers market. I will post the sauce recipe for you. Mel - silly Mel - she thought the government might be PRO-ACTIVE :lol3:  I'm sorry you are going through so much grief - and on an all too frequent basis too. Glad you can keep a smile about it. :crossed: for you. Yes, we would have a hoot at Trader Joes together. My SUV would not be big enough to hold all the loot! Annie - you have asked the eternal question - WHY do we keep eating things we know are bad for us even when they make us sick????????? If you ever figure out the answer, or better how to overcome it, I would be the first to buy a ticket to listen. :D We have the cookies at work too and Tuesday we figured out that a sugar free chocolate chip cookie was just as many points as any other regular cookie save for the highly caloric Samoas. They just took out the sugar and added more fat. I hope you didn't get too sick and avoided the rest of the cookies. Rose :congrat: on the weight loss for the year! Even if it comes off slow, it's coming off and that's what matters. That's so funny about the tulips. You remind me to go check my pots in the garage. Can you possibly plant tulips too late??? I had a very uncomfortable bra on yesterday which dug into me and left sore spots. The girls are not happy about being corralled up this morning but if I leave them free they will be typing all kinds of things on my keyboard at my desk if you know what I mean so I'll have to find an old and more stretchy boulder holder as well as a loose shirt today. See yah! |
Morning All, Trying not to be grumpy here....can we all say oh BOOO HOOO FOR Rose this morning!!! The three mountain passes I would have to travel are expected to get up to 14 inches of snow.....so my trip is off. So at work yesterday I had to reconfigure the days ahead. On my list to make it be a bit more fun....go see and hold my friends new baby Nevaeh........ go to my kick butt yoga tonight to see what new torture position she comes up with. Good band playing friday night....go dance my legs off..... sat go decorated two rooms at the care center for some friends who are coming to stay in salmon in the home that I adore. A mother and son who both suffer from MS.
So anyway, I am being a bit sarcastic ....but I will try to get out and about and enjoy!!! Spring in the ROckies is always like this. Happy I went around and planted the bulbs all over in different pots and they are all coming on....sort of fun. My Jasmine vine is blossoming also and that smell can give you a glimpse of what heaven might smell like...I love it! I do hope the troubles that surround each of us just become faint memories with good resolutions for all!!! Mel, are you gearing up for St.Patty's????? I will be checking back throughout my days.... I will try to post that soup recipe. Enjoying my morning coffee and trying to wake up. Peace to all, Rose & TOby hangin' in the ROckies |
