Hello Ladies,
Another crazy week here. I will post more than weekend. Hope all is going well with everyone. |
Happy Friday ladies -
Super quick check in for me. I hope you all are doing well. Happy - I hope the cardiologist appt. went well. Mel - Thanks for the recipes. I hope you're enjoying a nice relaxing MELLIDAY. Shad - I hope your Friday went well. Any fun plans for your weekend? Patty - Hope you're doing well. Ruth - Sending big hugs to you. Ceejay - I hope you have a great Friday. As for me...my co-workers and I are going out to lunch, and then I need to leave a bit early to take the doggies to the vet for booster shots and annual check ups. So I'd better get right to work now. Love and big hugs to all, |
Good morning ladies,
Last night the girls from work went out for dinner and a play. We went to see Menopause - The Musical. They reworked alot of famous songs from the 60's and 70's into lyrics related to hot flashes, night sweats, chin hairs, mood swings and all the lovely parts of "the change". It was really funny. We had a great time. Went to a hole in the wall place and had the best grilled fish and veggies. It was nice to spend an evening chick bonding and laughing. The cardiologist said the pain I have is either heart or lungs. Said the only way to really tell if I have blockages is to do a heart catherization where they run a camera up your groin artery to your heart and look around. I have the test scheduled for April 3 but in the meantime am doing alot of talking to people and research to decide if this is the route I want to go. It's invasive and of course, not without it's risks. Michelle - I hope you get all your chores done today so that you can enjoy your weekend and get outside, even if a little cool. Enjoy your lunch today! Good luck applying for the new job :crossed: I know what it's like to really like your boss and then be stuck with a new one who is nothing like the person you enjoy working for. Hope everything works out  Hi Patty - hope your busy week ends today so you can catch up and relax. Thanks for the recipes Mel. I might try that pisto and vegetables tonight. Interesting to mix rice and eggs - at least for a Polish girl  Ceejay - yes I guess I am waiting for the doctors to say that EVERYONE feels like that when they exert themselves and the more you do it, the easier it gets so don't worry about it. :dunno: Make sure you plan a nice vacation for yourself. Don't fritter it away or give it back to the company. Shad - Sunday is a mighty pretty kitty. But I'm sure she knows that  Did your workmate get his contract renewed? Hope so. Doesn't sound like you want to be there on your own. Time for me to get going. Hope you all have a good Friday. Happy Spring to us on this side of the pond, Happy Autumn to Shad! And... my tulips that were laying dry and dark in the garage are now sending big shoots in the pots so I hope they will be ok and I think / hope we are going to have an extra especially glorious azalea bloom this year. One flower has popped on the bushes and the rest are heavy with pink, red and white buds. Can't wait! |
FLYING IN AND OUT......EMERGENCIES AND A TRAPPED MAN IN THE ELEVATOR TILL DANG NEAR 2AM THEN THE MAIL BROUGHT PROBLEMS WITH THE GOVT. THE GIRL WAS SO NICE BUT PUT A LOT OF FALSE STATEMENTS IN MY PAPERS AND I CAN'T SEEM TO FINBD HER. SHE NEGLECTED TO GIVE ME HER PHONE # :tantrum: SCREW IT..I AM LETTING THE INFO GO THE WAY IT IS...I'M NOT GOING TO GO NUTS OVER $23!!! THEY'LL GIVE ME THE MONEY ANYWAY SO WHO CARES IF SOME DATES ARE WRONG. STILL FIGHTIN GOR MY ELECTRIC HELP SINCE SPETEMBER. I THINK THE PAPERS I PUT IN THE MAIL SHOULD END THE BATTLE. LET US HOPE SO CAUSE IT'S ALMOST COST ME $800 NOW PAYING FOR MY HEAT ON MY OWN. SIGH. I AM TOO TIRED TO FIGHT NAYMORE. NEED A NAP.
HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A BETTER WEEK THAN I AM! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. I AM DOING NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Mel
(hugs) you should not have to deal with this gov stuff. Is the man who was trapped in the elevator okay? Michelle Good to talk with you via chat on FB. Wish 3fc still had chat. Happy I wish there was another way other than having a heart catherization to find blockaged in the heart. You do know they do not put you to sleep while doing this. I had good news and bad news today at the Jonesboro Toyota place. The Rav4 had been recalled so it didn't cost me anything to have it reprogrammed. JT did tell me that Blytheville Toyota had done the paper work but did not fix my problem. They(JT) verified that it had not been fixed. I was peeved to say the least. Maybe this is why they (BT)didn't want to schedule me to fix the problem. He also told me that this was not the first time that they had complaints about Blytheville service department. He said they would get to the bottom of it. I'm gettiing hungry but all I can eat is veggies and fruit for dinner. I blew my points at Burger King today. Think I'll go to the grocery store and get lettuce and tomato and add corn and pinto beans to the salad. |

:brr: I FORGOT TO SAY...JOHN CALLED ME YESTERDAY AT 7:30 TO GET UP AND LOOK OUT THE WINDOW. THERE WAS A LOVELY BLIZZARD GOING ON OUT THERE FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!! SNOW LIKE I HAVEN'T SEEN IT ALL WINTER!! THEN IT WAS FURIOUSLY SNOWING EVEN HARDER AND THE SUN CAME OUT!! WHAT A SIGHT. OF COURSE IT MELTED AS FAST AS IT FELL. BUT BIG FLUFFY GEATHERY FLAKES ALL OVER THE PLACE. SO MANY THAT YOU COULDN'T SEE THRU THEM. WHAT A SIGHT

Morning.....
Mel, so nice to see you up and sending us good feelings about your day and the Spring. I love all of your cheerful helpers on your page. Hope you have a wonderful dinner. Mom & Andy are coming here for a couple of days. They are attending a memorial over in Hamilton and will come here after it is over to spend a night or two. I had a friend from my 1st grade class come and spend one night on her way to SUn Valley and Boise for business. SHe brought along one of her Goldens...what a love he was...Baker and Toby and him had so much fun. Toby was actually lonely the next day I could really tell. Poor guy just has his mom now to play with....but two dogs make travelling a bit difficult. I will return with more personals later. I have some news to share with my Worldly friends in the near future. I am glad Spring is here too. I have pots of tulips in my house that are blooming. Makes me smile......the meadowlarks have returned to welcome the day outside my house so that is my joy once again. Have a great day everyone! Peace, Rose |
Good morning chicks,
It's a cool and rainy one here. Good for house cleaning but we need to get out and do some shopping. Unlike up north where stores stayed open on the weekend to accomodate those of us working 9 to 5, down here many of the businesses are open Monday to Friday only. If they "accomodate" its to 6pm on the weekdays or 9 to noon on Saturday. We want to look at wood flooring, find a faucet for the downstairs bath and one of the guys at work told me about a wonderful local butcher shop that has great meat at reasonable prices. Sending me into a new food store is like a kid in a candy store. I'm sure I will hear "come ON, we don't need ANYMORE at least 4 or 5 times today. I am back to jotting down all the things that I need to do that flit in and out of my head that I forget about unless I'm passing through the kitchen to get a cup of coffee or about to fall asleep at night. I also thought of using mini post it notes but I don't have anywhere to put them without making a mess. Mel, I'm glad you are rested up and feeling perky even if the weather isn't. I remember once DH accompanied me on a business trip to Monterey California. We stayed at an expensive but incredible hotel right over Monterey Bay (right by the aquarium Shad). Our room had a balcony and you'd look down and see the crashing waves and the seals playing in the bay and all the damn noisy seagulls too  My favorite sound in the whole world is the sound of the surf. The first night I left the balcony doors open and feel asleep the to sea air and the sound of the waves breaking. The next day I woke up at 6am (completely unlike me) got dressed and took a walk on the beach. DH felt like sleeping in. I walked for a few miles all up and down Cannery Row and the beach. I had the most incredible feeling. And then it hit me. I was RESTED. It hit me like a sharp electrical shock. I had been in an incrediblely stresssful job running on literally 3 to 4 hours of sleep 6 nights a week and I was about to collapse. I'm sure no drug could have made me feel any better than I did that morning on the beach. I've been chasing that feeling ever since then  So sorry for the long dissertation but your comment brought back that very vivid memory! Anyway, I hope your corned beef dinner comes out tasting as great as it smells. What time is dinner? :hungry: I will bring a salad and dessert. You'll have to talk to Ceejay if you want that stewed cabbage stuff  OMG about the poor man stuck in the elevator. My biggest frightful nightmare! Thank goodness you could talk to him - that helps keep the willies at bay but not quite. I think there is nothing quite like a spring snowstorm. First of all for some reason the flakes get extra fluffy and the best part is like you said IT MELTS FAST  Rose - waiting on pins and needles to hear your news. Our tulips aren't ready yet but the daffodils have been out for a while. I love, love, love the songs of the birds in the spring. It's such a peaceful feeling - sounds like you have that too. Ceejay - Sorry to hear you had troubles with your car repairs. One of the reasons we stuck with Toyotas for the last 25+ years is because they have been the most reliable when it comes to dealer service. Even when we crashed the car in central Illinois last year, the dealer was really good. Well except for when they told us the car was fixed and DH almost made a 700 mile round trip for nothing when they tested it one more time and found a leak in the radiator. But they called the day before he left so it was okay. We have had nothing but routine maintenance here and are ok with the service so far. I think we have 3 dealers in the area, the closest only 5 miles away. Thanks for the info on the test, they gave me a pamphlet to read that I haven't done yet. Still talking to people and forming an opinion. I am trying hard to be aware of how I feel and whether it's lungs or heart. I lean to lungs and then I'll get some shooting twinges in my chest and think, well maybe I should do this just to be sure. Are you staying in this weekend? Michelle - how is the back doing? Are the doggies all checked out and clean bills of health? Shad - guess you are staying in town this weekend. Hope you can get away from the office and get out and see some sights and unwind. Any news of on the co-worker's renewal? Patty - hope you can kick back for a bit. I have to go find something to eat. DH is typing away at the computer. I guess he forgot we were supposed to do stuff today. :( |
I'll pass on the cooked cabbage Happy. I probably saw the hotel that was on the bay near the aquarium. I loved the sounds of the waves myself. Don't necessarily like being caught up in one though. Loved the aquariam.
Rose Good to see you again. Glad you had a good visit with your friend. Mel  I didn't go back to read the post. I have a lot to do today but am in the I do not want to mood. Made contact with my sister who lives in Missouri. I'm going there for the week of Easter. More later. |
How y'all going??
It's Sunday afternoon and I figured I should get on here and see what you have all been up to. I've have a fairly active weekend. Yesterday I walked for kilometres up to the Queen Victoria Markets. QVM is a great place for fresh veg, meat, chicken and fish. I spent about $50 and will be feeding myself in meat etc for the next three weeks and veges for the next week and a bit. The only thing I didn't get was bread. I would have loved to bring some back but couldn't carry anymore. QVM is a really colourful place. Has everything from souvenirs to eggs and is run by a mainly greek or italian community - with lots of other nationalities thrown in. Sometimes you don't even get to hear English down the aisles. After I got home and got the food sorted, I had to go back to town to buy a present for the 40th birthday party I went to last night. I had to walk there and back as well since I couldn't get a cab anywhere in town. The party was fun and filled with people I have worked with over the past 6 or 7 years. It was like a grand reunion. Friday night I went to a Greek restaurant with my friend R and we had a nice meal consisting of a selection of mezedtes (sp). After walking so much yesterday, I figured I could give the feet a rest today and went down to the gym (upper body weights) and pool for my daily exercise. 10 lengths of the pool yahoo although it wasn't very warm at first I must admit. Anyway the exercise got done and I feel okay about it. Mel - that Pistou sounded really good. I'm going to have a go at that. I also went into the link. It looks like a lot of good stuff in there. Michelle - hope the doggies played fair with you at the vet! My two used to love the vet. The vet wanted to figure out what it was that they liked and bottle it so he could give it to all his other patients Happy - Hope all goes well with the medical procedures. I know you will eventually pick the right choice. Loved the memories of Monterey - makes me wonder what that pesky Canadian is up to at the moment. Certainly isn't keeping in touch with us, is it? Rose - what could this news be?? Getting married again? Becoming a Grandmother?? Shifting house - nah that can't be it. Hope Annie is enjoying Texas!!! Ceejay - glad the car didn't cost you money. No cabbage for me either thank you. Okay - better get on with the day. It's nearly over but I have some clothes to fold, and I'd better go and find some get up and go for work tomorrow. I'm back in training tomorrow - being the student from **** again. |
Quickie again! I'm having a great weekend - not just no funeral to attend for a change but had a lovely lunch with an old friend yesterday and am taking a Thai cooking class this afternoon. It's nice to have a good weekend for a change - although it did snow a bit overnight.
Looks like life is bopping along as usual for the Worldlies. I do try to read although I don't always have time to comment. Happy SPRING! :encore: :flow1: :flow1: :encore: |

Hello Ladies -
Having a good weekend so far. I don't know if it's just because the sun has been shining or what. I'm trying to figure out when to start planting. I'm going to grown some veggies in pots but worried about late freeze. I could move them inside, but the pots are soo big and heavy. I think i'll go to the local Feed Store that has the best plants and see what they have to say. Shad - you lead such an exciting life. Happy - I"m with Mel, maybe having the lung x-ray first to rule out. My dad and a few of my aunts have had that procedure. Hundreds are done, it's a common procedure, yet when it's you having it done, that's what matters. I too am having a procedure on tuesday, it's a Hydra Scan on my gallbladder. It's basically a sonogram, but they have to give me an IV to see how the gallbladder is working. Last week on Oprah, Dr Oz was on there and he had a checklist to ask, Yes to ask the doctors or nurses when your having procedures done. Like you said do your research, know what to expect. I will keep you in my prayers. Rose - What's the news? Can't wait to hear. Mel - I"m glad the guy in the elevator was ok. I would of been panicking. Ceejay- I"m glad the car was a no-charge fix. Easter will be here before we know it. I think i need to figure out what i'm going to do to. Ruth - enjoy your cooking class. Mitchellez - Blackie is somewhat ok at the vet. He likes the technician's but doesn't look at the Vet. I think he remembers him from a uncomfortable prode :). He won't look at him... maybe he's embarassed. |
Patty
Dogs do remember who's been nice to them and who hasn't. Mel I'm ready to go some where different. My sis either comes here around Easter or I go there. They were here last year so it's my time to go there. Ooh I just remembered I will have to go back in May for my nieces graduation from high school. I'd better find out what time that date is. Shad I was going to ask you what mezedites were but after Mel looked it up all I can say is ughh. Hi Ruth This morning I popped in here around 9 a.m. then the power went out. I was busy with answering the phone for 2 solid hours. I finally gave in and called B. to help me watch the psi gauge in the control room and the ground storage tank level gauge out back. I may get in trouble for doing that but hey, that's what they are there for. I had 4 sheets of names by the tiime he got here. There is not much else to say. Have a good Sunday |

Mezedtes (sp?) are like tapas in Spain. Lots of small dishes filled with a couple of pieces. We do not go for snails!!!!! We had zucchine fritters with cucumber aioli, beer battered cod with skordalia, meatballs in some sort of tomato sauce with cheesy bits and prawns in filo. There was enough each for just a taste and I have suspicions about the prawns. Certainly the tail was there, but I have a feeling that the bit wrapped in shredded filo might have been seafood extender. Anyway, it all got washed down with a nice Pinot Gris from Tasmania and we didn't overeat or drink. Pleasant night.
Ruth - Glad to hear that there was no funeral for you this weekend. You must be beginning to feel like a professional mourner. Also sorry that the Italian Job is put off until the spring, but that gives you more time to save up and have an ever better time. Wish I could be there. Mel - if you want the bag, I will go up and get it for you on my next trip up there - probably next weekend when I will need more fruit and veg. Hope the newsletter is worthwhile. By the way, the deli section is incredile. We should send some snails to Ceejay!!!!! Patty - can you get those pot carriers on wheels over your way. I have several of them for moving big pots around the yard - they are simply a heavy gauge steel wire flat frame coated with plastic and put on castors. They aren't that expensive. In fact when I googled them I saw these wooden ones - you could probably make these yourself. Pics attached at the bottom of the post. Okay - the usual weekend funnies have been happening here in the office. I'd better go and sort out these folk. Banging some heads together might be a reasonable option. |
JEANETTE~ YOU WILL BE THE TRAVELING GAL THIS YEAR. GRADUATIONS TOO! WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? WHAT A MESS POWER OUTAGES CAN MAKE!! I NEVER KNEW! WAS THAT 4 PAGES OF COMPLAINTS?
SHAD~ I WAS TRYING TO THINK OF THE WORD TAPAS. I WAS JUST KIDDING ABOUT SNAILS IN ALL OF THEM. COULDN'T RESIST WHEN I SAW THAT ONE KIND HAD SNAILS. HOPE YOU GOT THE WEEKEND FUNNIES SORTED OUT. IS ANYONE BLEEDING YET?:dracula: :cofdate: A QUICKIE TODAY. NOTHING IS NEW AND I NEED TO GO OVER MY "SPEECH" FOR THE 2ND CALL. LET US PRAY THERE WILL BE NO NEED FOR A 3RD ONE. SEE YOU MANANA. HAPPY MONDAY :moped: |
Happy Monday!!!!
I'mmmmmmmmm baaaaaaaaaack!!!! What a wonderful time I had. Spent two days on the Riverwalk, had lunch and dinnet there. Went shopping and shopping some more. Spent the day at the pool at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Drove to Corpus Christi, stopped a some really cute shops. 3 Sisters Boutique and a fabulous BBQ joint. Yummy! Went to the beach one day near Corpus, went shopping some more, went to a Cowboy bar and was introduce to the Margarita MARTINI. Quite yum, I do not like martinis, but this tasted kinda like a margarita only not as sweet. Tried to learn to two step, but had heels on and was a little intoxicated. Mostly stumbled. haha Didn't want to come back. I think I would like to live in Texas. MEL...thanks for the great recipes. Sounds like you are taking care of yourself and relaxing a bit more. Good for you. Shad....day late and a dollar short on the wearing of the green, but what the heck. Sounds like the job you are on has too many chiefs and not enough Indians...hahahhaa Ruth...hope your knees are getting better. Happy....ew, goodluck with the cath. My dad went through that, he did alright, ended up getting a stint. I saw Menapause a couple of years ago when it was in Indy. Yes, it is quite funny. Michelle....goodluck on the job, hope you get just what you want. I will send great vibes your way. Ceejay...I absolutely hate car trouble. Sorry to hear of your experiences. Dang it anyway. Tony came over yesterday afternoon, we got reacquainted (he he) then had baked porkchops, taters and mixed veggies, the went to Sam's Wholesale club. Beautiful day in Indiana yesterday. Today is a bit cloudy but 60 degrees. I will take it. It is not the 82 and sunny like Texas tho. Gotta get busy, 1st day back for me and the President. She keeps me hopping. Hello to all. Love and Hugs... |
Mornin' chicks,
Mel, I hope your call goes well and does not involve any screaming, yelling, begging, crying or anything wild other than a THANK you for your prompt attention to this matter ;) :crossed: for you  And I'm not eating no snails either :snooty: Although I would like to try the tappas some day. Shad - you can bang the heads together - just remember not to leave marks  Sounded like you had a nice weekend. I would have been in heaven at that market with you! Ceejay - thought you were with the water dept. Why so many calls if the power went out? Patty - I agree with the caster roller things. We have some very large pots and used those too on the patio. I found them to be quite useful because sometimes you plant something new and it gets too much / not enough light or shade. Very easy to move the pots around with those things. Also easy to clean the leaves and schmutz that gather around and behind them. You can get them in the garden center of any home improvement store. Hi Ruth, how did the cooking class go? Well I bought a mango and ingredients and was about to make that mango walnut bread that Mel posted. Next most important rule for WW after you bite it, you write it - is to check the points values BEFORE you eat it. So I plugged her recipe into the online WW recipe builder and it comes out to 16 points per slice figuring an 8 slice yield. :yikes: That's almost 2 meals worth of points for one slice and who wants to bet you'd stop at one slice? So... sadly :( I won't be making that. I do have a nice black bean and mango salsa I can make or dig up a recipe for mango salsa to go with fish or chicken. I only eat beef about once a week but have really overdone it the last few days. DH and I got some incrediblely wonderful bacon wrapped filet mignon at a local butcher shop on Saturday. And cheap too! Yesterday I got home from grocery shopping really late (ran some errands beforehand) and needed something quick for supper so we had steak fajitas. We have another steak we were going to cook tonight but DH forgot he signed us up for a financial seminar and it's not tomorrow night (he listened too quickly to the telephone reminder message) but instead it's TONIGHT. We were planning on doing some yard work tonight and that will mess us up for both grilling and yard work as tomorrow is supposed to be a rainy day. I will have to talk to that boy. Other than that nothing much going on... talk to y'all later. |
Morning all,
Tapas are really good. However they are not all calorie conscious so you need to pick and choose. There are some good vegetarian ones as well so you can get the veges in too. Also for those who don't want to eat too much, they are small samples and bite sized so a couple of plates and you have probably had enough. R and I ordered two each to share so we had a fairly wide variety. Happy - Mango, red salad onion (spanish onion) avocado and cherry or grape tomato cut in half and marinated with a bit of oil and lemon or lime juice are great as a salsa. I do that often. Goes well with fish, chicken and pork. Haven't really tried it with beef so don't know. Might need a bit more kick to compliment the beef. That's a heavy bread that you were about to make. Wonder if you could change some of the ingredients around to lighten it up a bit. But I agree, you need to stick to the points and good for you for doing it. Annie - so glad you are back and have enjoyed your break. So nice to just get away from it all for a while. Mel - you little kidder you!!! I knew what you were doing trying to stir up the population!!! Hope all goes well for the phone call. I'll be keeping the fingers, toes, legs and eyes crossed for you. Yesterdays training was just awful. It wasn't the trainers fault, but the course she presented originally started as a five day course. 3 or 4 would have been more appropriate. Then it got squeezed into a 3 day course and then to a 2 day course. Don't take anything out, just talk faster. Yesterday we were expected to do it in one day, and a short day at that 10.00 to 5.00. Poor girl, she talked for nearly 6 straight hours and we did our best to absorb the info. It was cruel. Since we were a bright bunch, we could have done it properly in 2 days, but 1!!!!! No wonder this company is in the state that it is in!!! :yikes: So today - I'd better mosey on to the work I missed out on yesterday and see if I can come up with some answers to the riddles of the gearboxes and their associated main shafts. So far there are two turbines which don't have either according to the system. I wonder if the turbines actually exist?? |
IF IT WOULDN'T HURT MY EYES I WOULD JUST SIT DOWN AND CRY. THE CALL KEPT GETTING POSTPONED EVERY 20 MINUTES TILL 3:30 THEN THE GIRL WHO HAS IT DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT WAS ABOUT. THANK GOD SHE IS SWEET AND BRIGHT!! SHE PULLED IT ALL TOGETHER AND TRIED TO SOLVE IT IN ONE CALL. SHE EVEN HAD LAST WEEKS WOMAN AND TOGETHER THEY DECIDED WHT TO DO. BUT NO DICE. I HAVE TO SUBMIT 3 YEARS WORTH OF PAYSTUBS IN AND SIGN MY LIFE AWAY WHEN THE PAPERS GET HERE. THEN WE SHALL SEE WHAT RETIREMENT DEPARTMENT SAYS. I ASKED CAN WE JUST STOP ONE INVESTIGATION AND DEAL WIUTH THEM ONE AT A TIME CAUSE THEY ARE CONFLICTING. NO DICE. I ALREADY HAD MY BIRTHDAY. SO FAR THEY HAVE TAKEN $1000 OFF THE MONEY THEY SAY I OWE. LEAVING A $600 BALANCE. I THINK ONCE ALL THE PAPERS ARE IN, THAT THIS SUM SHOULD BE REMOVED ALSO. THEY ARE ACCUSING ME OF HAVING GOTTEN A RAISE EACH YEAR BUT THE TOWN HAD A WAGE FREEZE ON FOR 2 YEARS. I CAN PROVE IT WITH MY STUBS. YOU WANT TO LAUGH??? WE ARE TALING ABOUT A $5 RAISE PER WEEK THAT COVERED 3 YEARS! WTF!! YOU WOULD THINK BY THE WAY THEY SPOKE TODAY IT WAS MILLIONS AND I WAS THE PRESENT CEO OF AIG HERE IN THE USA!! :tantrum: THEN SHE TELLS ME WE HAVE TO WIND THIS UP BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH OR I WILL HAVE GONE PAST MY 60 DAYS!!! |
It's probably and automatic return mail. Every man and his dog gets one if they want one.
So sorry you had to go through all that crap. It's getting to the totally ridiculous stage. Maybe you need to talk to Barack. Certainly seems to need to go hirer in the ranks. |
Mel
HUGS to you my friend. The four pages were addresses, but it all stemed for the sub station. I was so happy that one of the electric crew's bosses was on call yesterday. I gave him the first four address and said that is probably the sub station. he was right on. He had to replace a breaker. Happy Yes i work in the water department but on week ends and after 5 p.m. the water plant gets to answer the phone. I wish they would change it but they probably will not. Annie Welcome back. Sounds like you had a fun time. Did you ride the "boat" that goes down the river. |
Hi shad i see you are above me. How is work going?
|
Good morning all,
In a hurry this morning so not much time to post. So sorry to hear of all the hassle Mel. Really makes me mad that you are expected to jump through such hoops. Bah! And others just take, take, take and it is handed to them. Don't stress yourself over it though it is hard not to. Crikey on the accellerated class Shad. 5 days shrunk to one?????? These companies never learn  Gotta run, talk to you later. Love to all :grouphug: |
Good Morning All....
MEL...so sorry to hear of the trouble with the govt. You might know the good news you had a couple of weeks ago would bring diaster. D*mn them anyway. SHAD...good thing you are so intelligent, getting 5 days of training into 1. Yikes! Not much going on today. Am thinking about joining Curves. I belonged before, at least it gets me moving. I left my pedometer in the ladies restroom yesterday before I left for home. Sadly it has not been found. I could cry. To think I made it all the way to Texas and back without losing it. Hidee Ho...Ceejay, Happy, Michelle, and anyone I might of missed. Much love and many hugs, |
Happy Tuesday ladies -
Sorry I've been so quiet. Yesterday was insanely busy at work...but that's a good thing. And I had quite a busy weekend getting the doggies here and there and running other errands. Then my back starting being really painful...I'm hoping it's due to that TOM and nothing more serious. I see the sports med doc on Thursday to hopefully get new xrays just in case it is something structural, in addition to my arthritic SI joint (well hopefully he can confirm whether or not the SI joint is the issue). The doggies got clean bills of health at the vet. They love going to the vet because they get to see other dogs and the vet (and the techs) have pockets full of treats. The dogs just LOVE everyone there. And they love going to the groomers too for the chance to see and converse (bark) with other dogs and catch up on the latest doggie gossip...just like at any beauty salon. I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'm going to a party at a former co-worker's house on Friday night and on Saturday night, DH and I are going to a hockey game and Styx will be playing in concert after the game! Happy - I'm so glad you enjoyed Menopause - The Musical! I've heard lots of good things about it. The heart catherization doesn't sound like any fun, but if it can help determine the cause of your pain, it's probably worth it. My DMIL has had it done a couple times and says it's not that bad. She ended up getting a couple stints put in and feels better than she has in decades! I'm with the other chicks though that if you can start with a chest xray or even an MRI to provide some images of what might be going on, that would be much better. Have you done asthma breathing tests - you take a deep breath and exhale into a device that measures your lung capacity. Do everything you can noninvasively first. On another subject...so you're already experiencing budding and blooming flowers? I'm so jealous! My kitty willow has buds, but that's about it. Of course, I saw my first robin of the year over the weekend. It made me so happy to see the little harbinger of Spring! Stores that are closed on weekends or only open a few hours??? As one who works in the retail industry....that's CRAZY! Especially in this economy, stores should be open during hours when it's most convenient for consumers to spend money. I make lists as well because I have "CRS" (Can't Remember :censored: ), and then just hope I don't forget where I put my lists! And I totally agree, the rhythmic sound of the surf is so relaxing. Your description of your visit to Monterey brought back fond memories of when we used to go there when we lived in CA. We love Cannery Row and the Aquarium. Such a lovely city by the ocean. :) Ceejay - It was nice to chat with you on FB. Good for you for sticking with your points so well! Mel - How great that you had such a restful sleep on Friday! We woke up to a dusting of snow on Saturday morning too, but thankfully it melted by 9 am. Sorry you had such a frustrating phone call and that the gov't is being such a pain in the arse. Rose - I can't wait to hear your news! You've really got me curious. We don't have tulips or daffodils or anything yet...but hopefully soon. Shad - QVM sounds wonderful! I wish we had somewhere like that here. Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend with the party and dinner with your friend! When do you get to go "home" next? Good for you for getting so much exercise in! So frustrating when a two day training is crammed into 1 day! Not good for the trainer or the trainees. Ruth - I'm glad you had a nice weekend and hope that your week is going well. :) Patty - I hope your Hydra Scan procedure goes well today. Good luck. I'm starting my veggies indoors this week. Especially the ones that take awhile (pumpkins, gourds, etc.). When I plant them directly in the garden or in pots after the last frost, they never get fruits. Very frustrating. I wonder how farmers do it here. They grow pumpkins and other stuff that takes a long time to mature. If you still have questions regarding growing cukes, squash, etc. in pots, just let me know. Speaking of frost...if a frost is expected after I've set my plants out, because my pots are SO heavy, I just leave them outside and cover them with a tarp or old bed sheet or something and that works well. Annie - I'm so glad you had such a great vacation and a nice (he he) reunion with Tony! I hope Hella Bella didn't bite him while you were away. Sorry to hear about your pedometer. :( I hope it turns up. Well, ladies, I really have to get some work done! Love and hugs to all of you, |
SHAD~I DID TELL THE GIRL YESTERDAY THAT IF SHE HEARS FROM BARACK TO TELL HIM NOT TO GIVE ME ANY MORE STIMULUS MONEY AS THE OTHER BRANCHES WILL ONLY TAKE IT ALL AWAY ANY WAY!!
JEANETTE~ GLAD IT WAS ADDRESSES...INSTEAD OF COMPLAINTS!! :faint: HAPPY:wave: WAVING BACK TO YOU YOU BUSY CHICK!! ANNIE~ SOMEONE WALKED OFF WITH THE PEDOMETER?!?! :tantrum: MAYBE THEY WILL TRIP ON IT AND FALL!! SERVE THEM RIGHT :rollpin: MICHELLE~ SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR BACK. HOPING THAT THEY CAN FIND A WAY TO EASE THE PAIN. THE WEEKEND COMING UP SOUNDS NICE THOUGH SO DON'T GO NUTS AND JUST REST UP FOR THE FUN!!! YOU GAVE ME A GOOD LAUGH ABOUT THE DOGGIES!  DOGGIE GOSSIP!! WE CALL IT READING THE DOGGIE NEWSPAPER WHEN THEY SNIFF THE TREES AND CURBS HERE!!:lol3: :lol3:  I WAS HAVING A PITY PARTY YESTERDAY.,...COULD YOU ALL TELL? BUT I AM OVER IT NOW AND READY FOR WHATEVER THEY HIT ME WITH. I WENT TO SHOPRITE AND GOT FRUITS, VEGGIES AND CHICKEN BREASTS. ALSO SOME SLICED TURKEY, EGGS AND OF COURSE WATER! I EVEN BOUGHT BRITTA FILTERS FOR MY PITCHER. I SHOULD BE ALL SET NOW. IT WAS FREEZING OUTSIDE THIS MORNING....AT ONLY 26 WHEN I LEFT HERE. WE JUST GOT OUR WATER TURNED BACK ON...THEY FOUND A BIG LEAK IN ONE OF THE UNUSED OFFICES. :yikes: !! HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A GREAT DAY. |
Hi Mel - Good for you for getting such healthy food at the store, as well as the Brita filters. 26 degrees?? Brrrrr. I got a good laugh from "reading the doggie newspaper"...my DH and I say that dogs are checking their "pee-mail" (as opposed to e-mail).
|
Popping in to say hello, it's getting close to bed time.
Happy Did you get rain or storms? Thankfully we got rain. |
FLYING IN AND OUT TO WISH YOU ALL A GREAT DAY. THE OFFICE IS SHORT-HANDED AND I CAN USE THE MOOLAH!!! NOT SURE HOW LONG I CAN STAY. THE RIGHT EYE IS A BIT WONKY AGAIN. GOTTA LOVE STRESS!
HAPPY WEDNESDAY :moped: |
Hump Day ALREADY!!!!
Good Morning Chickies..... MEL....We all deserve a pity party now and then. You certainly do after dealing with the govt. I think you are holding up very well. Yummy food choices at Shoprite. Could you pack my lunch for me? Michelle...I believe doggies do gossip back and forth. I know Hella Bella puts her two cents in regularly. I think she misses Tony and the boys as she has been moping all week long. She will barely play ball with me in the mornings while I am getting ready for work and she is pretty demanding when it comes to morning ball playing. Hidee Ho to Shad, Ceejay, Happy, Ruth and anyone else I may have missed. I am going to an Indiana Pacer's BB game tonight. Not really too psyched about it tho, as the Pacer's STINK. Going with some girls from work with free tickets from Humana. Free tickets usually end up being about 20+ bucks after we get a bite to eat and an adult beverage. Work was a madhouse yesterday, didn't get out of here till about 6pm. My president/boss has a meeting at Corporate in Cincinnati today and tomorrow. It was crazy getting her ready to go. She did bring me back a lovely summer dress and necklace to match from her cruise last week. They are from St. Kits. Everyone have a wonderful hump day. Much love and Many Hugs, |
Happy Wednesday -
I'm so glad the work week is nearly half over. I want a day off. Last weekend seems like ages ago! My back is doing a bit better today after PT, then going to the gym for 20 minutes of cardio, 10 minutes of stretches and planks, 20 minutes of abs, and 30 minutes of yoga. I'm planning on going to the gym tonight for cardio, stretching and abs. According to my physical therapist, part of the cause of the pain in the lower left side of my back could be due to tight hip flexors, quads, etc. on my right side, which is pulling and twisting the left side of my pelvis and back to compensate. So I've got all new stretches to do at least twice a day. It's a good reminder to me how important flexibility and stretching are in preventing injury. Seems like just about all I do now is stretching in one form or another. I used to just be able to do cardio and weights....but just doing that started this whole mess to begin with. :dunno: Anyway, I'm glad I'm feeling a little better today and I'm looking forward to seeing the doc tomorrow. I'm thinking about talking to my regular doctor about either Alli or Xenical next time I see him. Not sure I'm thrilled with the side effects (oily discharge - ewwwwwwwwwwww), but if it will help me by scaring me into sticking to a very low fat diet and and help me lose weight a little faster, maybe it will be worth it. Do you chicks have any opinions about Alli or Xenical? Shad - I hope your work is going better. Hang in there. Mel - We do all deserve a pity party every so often....especially with all you've been put through. Hang in there. Don't work too hard....don't strain your eyes too much. I know the $$ is nice, but your health is WAY more important. Ceejay - I'm glad you didn't have bad storms. We had some rumbles of thunder last night...but nothing too bad. Happy - I hope you're having a good day. Annie - How nice of your boss to buy you a dress and a necklace! And I'm sure she appreciates all your help in getting her ready for her trip to Corporate. Sending a  to Miss Hella Bella...so cute that she's missing Tony and the boys. Have fun at the Pacer's game! Well, I'd better get back to work. TTYL my friends! Love and big hugs, |
Michelle...I have heard some people have had success with Alli, some have not. Yes with the side effects. Ewwwww to say the least.
Good news on the Pacer Game. We get to be in the Humana Suite with food and drinks, only thing I have to pay is parking. whew whooooo! |
