  • ROSE....HOW COULD I MISS YOU MISS NAE??? I JUST SCROLLED BACK AND SAW YOUR POST....HOPE YOU DO FIND SOMETHING THAT WILL TAKE AWAY THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF MISSING THE TRIP. 14"!!!!! SORRY TO HEAR IT WAS CANCELLED! AND YES MY FRIEND ALL THIS CRAP WILL PASS....but I AM STILL CONSIDERING TAKING UP DRINKING ON ST. PATTY'S DAY!!
  • Hi ladies -

The rest did me good. And after work today, I'm going to the gym for cardio and strength training, then on to pet sitting for an hour. My PT says that most of my problem is due to the fact that I have an exaggerated sway in my lower back. She gave me some new exercises to strength the muscles to try and pull my spine into proper position. I think this might be a long haul - my PT calls it a crock pot type fix...rather than a microwave type fix....in other words, slow and steady. Unfortunately, patience isn't my strong suit. She suggested I go see a doc again, but my back specialist has left the "network" that my insurance covers...so I've got an appt with a Sports Medicine doc on 3/18 and an appt. with a really good orthopedic doc on 4/2.

Shad - I hope you've been able to conquer Mt. Stationery and Mt. Technology!

Annie - have a great time in St. Louis! Thanks for the great banana info!

Happy - Good for your DH for helping Mr. Feral defend his turf. Congrats on your wedding anniversary! 32 years is a long time! Good for you (both)! You cracked me up about unharnessing the girls and them doing the typing!

Rose - I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip. That's too bad. Hopefully you can go another time when the weather is more cooperative. Sounds like you have A LOT of fun things planned! You go, girl!

Patty - Yes, I grow cukes and squash in pots. I grow them vertically supported by tomato cages. I use the biggest pots I can find (that are about one size down from whisky 1/2 barrels).

Mel - Glad you had a great time at TJ's! So nice of Willy to help you out so much!

Ceejay - I hope things are going well for you! And that you're relaxing whenever possible.

Well, it's just about time to head home (and to the gym) for the day.

    Have a great evening ladies.

    Love and hugs,
  • I'm on the last day at work. I would do a happy dance but to tired. The newest employee is coming along. She should be going to nights next week.

    Annie
Like the tidbit on banana's. Congrats on the 6 months anniversary?
Like the picture in the avatar.

I'll tryo to do more personals tomorrow.
  • Oh Joyous Day (it's Friday and there is a public holiday on Monday)

I'm really looking forward to this weekend although it will probably be fairly chilly. I'm going to look for some warmer clothes tomorrow and then on Sunday we will go down to see the penguins. If we can find accommodation down there we will take it and stay down that way until Monday, but if not it's about a 2 hour drive home and should be fine as well. We can then go down to the other side of Port Philip Bay on Monday and see the sights down there. Life is good.

Conquering Mt Technology, but Mt Paperwork (Stationery) is looming ever larger. So many problems from one place. Still the best we can do is to look at one thing at a time and set our goals to do the best we can for one wind farm at a time. Slow but steady - crock pot stuff as Michelle would say.

My niece (the pregnant one) rang me to see if we could sort a date for her baby shower but I won't be home. I've said I will be there for Easter so maybe we will just have to have a private shower come Easter. Having said that, I had better go check the flight times for Easter since it will be a busy time for the airlines.

Happy - one boarder at a time at your place huh?? Fair enough. Haven't you got enough azaleas for the entire neighbourhood of cats? Why do they both have to try to sleep under the same one??

Annie - thanks for the banana issue. I always knew there was a sound reason why I liked bananas. But I can see now if I eat too many of them, I might have a problem. All that sugar must go somewhere!!

Michelle - I hope to join you as the exercise queen next week. The apartment has a gym and swimming pool available in the building. I look forward (well sort of) to trying it out.

Mel - there will be no drinking on St Paddys day unless you lose 10lbs before then! Understood?? Capisce?? Hope the government gets back it's computer service soon. Trying calling reception and see if that has happened. You may find it has never been down!!! That happened to me once. That's how I know what to do!

Rose - sorry the holiday was cut short. I'm sure you will find something to do with yourself and Toby the wonderdog.

Everyone else - look after yourself. I've got to go. More boring meetings
  • Good Morning Good Morning....sunny and high 66 today, break out the shorts!!

MEL...Yes, that is me and the Tony. That is the night we went out to watch my brother's band. Glad Trader Joe's went so well. Lots of yummy, fresh stuff there.

Michelle...have you thought about seeing a quack-o-practer for your back? I went for my neck and shoulder and he did wonders.

Ceejay...I will do the happy dance for you. I took a major poo this morning and feel so much better.

Shad...enjoy the penguins. Hope you find accommodations, it is always fun to stay out, of course, you probably get enough of that with your job travel.

Got laundry done, scoured, ran the vacuum, and packed last night, so am all ready to head to St. Louie for the weekend. I am so looking forward to it.

    Pizza Noodle Casserole

1 lb bow tie pasta, or any other pasta you like
    1 lb italian sausage
    1 large onion
2 jars spaghetti sauce, any flavor (plus I add 1 T sugar to the jar)
    1 lb sliced pepperoni
3 8 oz bags of shredded mozzarella cheese
    1 t garlic powder
    1 t dried oregano
(I also added 4 cloves fresh smushed garlic)

Cook pasta in boilin water til al dente.

Cook sausage, garlic powder, oregano, fresh garlic, and onions until juices run clear...(sausage done)

Grease 9 x 13 pan (i use pam), pur small amount of sauce to lightly coat bottom.

Layer ingredients in order listed below:

1st layer...1/3 pasta, 1/3 sauce, 1 bag mozzarella cheese, sausage and onion mix.

2nd layer...1/3 pasta, 1/3 sauce, 1 bag mozzarella cheese, pepperoni (pizza style to cover)

3rd layer...all remaining pasta, then all sauce, 1 bag mozzarella cheese, all pepperoni (completely covering the entire top with pepperoni).

Bake 375 degrees for 45 minutes. I covered mine with foil for the first 30 minutes. May have to bake longer if cheese is not all melted.

Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

(on the second layer you can replace pepperoni with ham)

Hello to everyone and all have a marvelous weekend.

    Love and Hugs.
  • Happy Friday ladies -

I did not make it to the gym last night. By the time I left work, I had a migraine and was feeling really nauseous too (typically goes along with migraines for me). Anyway, another night of R&R was just what I needed. I'm doing much better today. I may go to the gym tonight...or I may just do the grocery shopping and the laundry so that I'll have the rest of the weekend to have fun. We're going to the Sports Show tomorrow, where there will be exhibitors on fishing, camping, kayaking, and reps of camping and cabin resorts from across the midwest and Canada. There will also be a lumberjack competition demonstration, which is always fun to watch. A retriever dog training demo. And a demo from the local Dog Training club. We have a great time every year when we go to the Sports Show.

Ceejay - I'm hope today you'll be able to rest and relax! I'm glad the new employee is working out well.

Shad - How lucky you are to have a LONG weekend! Sounds like you have a great weekend planned. I wish I could go with you to watch the penguins! How nice that your apartment building has a gym and a pool! That's great!

A big to everyone! I hope you all have a Fabulous Friday and a great weekend too!

  • WHERE ARE ALL OUR MISSING CHICKS?
  • Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I got in 12,284 steps yesterday. We walked at lunch today and so far I have in 7653 steps. It was so nice walking outside today. It has been a long time coming. However very windy, it is very warm outside. The sun has dissappeared, but still warm. I will take it.
  • Annie
good for you in getting in your walk. I'm so ready for warmer temperatures.

    Mel
I'm with you, where is the rest of the worldly chicks.

    Michelle
    Enjoy your week end.

    Shad
lucky you in getting a holiday on Monday. Enjoy the trip.
  • Forgot to mention that I'm off the next couple of day. Still to tired to do a happy dance.
  • No time for long post today. I've been into town and checked out the apartment and figured out a path to get to work from it. It will be a lot of walking exercise unless I can find a shorter way to get around.
I've picked up some new clothes to keep me going for the week until I can get some more from home.
We have found a Begonia festival in Ballarat and intend to go to that tomorrow instead of the penguins and then hop up to Euchuca and check out the paddleboats on the Murray River. I've been there before but it is worth a second trip. The penguins will still be there in later weeks. They've been there for 100 years already so I don't think they will disappear over night.

Every one seems busy for the weekend. I'll check in again tomorrow and on Monday. Have a good one.
  • It's a special person's day today

Wishing you love, happiness, a joyous day and a wonderful year ahead of you. Love to you on your birthday.
