Morning ladies! I have found the new thread. Things here are very touch and go. and I spend most of my time parked on the couch, as any activity seems to make me feel worse. HAve to get moving and get the kiddies ready for school. Luv and hugs!

Good morning chicks,

Oooh Ellen, sounds like you're having a rough go of it there. Hope it eases up soon

Rennie - I agree with you and am very surprised at the amount of young girls (girls who should be more fit) walking around with cropped tops and flabby muffin tops hanging out. And what's this with everyone's boobs hanging out lately? I was watching Two and a Half Men and they had Jenny McCarthy guest starring. (Jenny went to high school across the street from our apartment and worked in the mom and pop grocery store next to us before she went to Hollywood and got famous). Anyway she looks fantastic - lost the baby weight on Weight Watchers and tho she was playing a scheming sexpot con artist, man every dress had the middle cut out and the "bags" as my mom calls them were hanging out. After a while it just doesn't look good anymore. So I'm with you - be appropriate in your dress and I think we all tend to wear things that are too loose rather than fitting properly.

Madcat - hope you had a nice evening and it spilled into the morning for you.

Shad - get outside and enjoy some of that nice weather before you have to run off again. Oh wait, you're supposed to be working from home, aren't you? Never mind You're right, takes alot of discipline to do that.

Mel - go for a nice ride outside, forget about the shopping. Save the cards for when you run out of something. Go wait outside for Marie and have a whiff of fresh air. Hope you have a good time together!

Michelle - that's so sad about the dogs at the shelter. I know there have been 2 outbreaks of Guardia virus among the cats but they are able to contain it quickly. Hard when you have so many animals in close quarters together. I too have gone to containers for the tomato plants. The soil here is full of clay and the only spot that seems to get enough sun is DH's hummer garden and we know we will NOT be getting access to that or up by the pool. I might just stick with the farmer's market this year and forgo the garden altogether.

Cripes, look at the time. Gotta run. Love to the rest of the chicks. Have a good day all...

Happy Tuesday ladies --

I went to the gym last night and did a 1/2 hour step class followed by a 1/2 hour weights class. Both classes kicked my butt , but in a good way. I was tired and sore when I left, and was lucky enough to come home to a home cooked meal made by John's mom. Beef stew over potatoes. Yummm! But I did learn something interesting...I ate around a cup to 1.5 cups of potatoes and when I checked my blood glucose, it was higher than it usually is after dinner. It was only 122, but that's considerably higher than it is normally after dinner. So I need to take it easy when it comes to potatoes. The weather today is supposed to get up to the mid 70s, so I'm going to take a walk at lunch. Yay!

Shad - your winter temps sound lovely! Although it might be a few years before we get to Oz, I'll heed your advice about the timing. The photos are great, both made me laugh! Thanks!

Rennie - You crack me up! Mutton dressed like a lamb -- too funny!

CeeJay - I hope your work settles down a bit.

Ellen - Take good care of yourself and it's okay to rest when you need to. Just listen to your body and your doctor.

Happy - I totally agree, people need to dress appropriately for their age and figure. A few years ago at Harley-Fest, my DH saw a woman wearing as*-less chaps (with a thong)and she was about 250 lbs. Needless to say she should've been much more covered up rather than letting her cottage cheese butt and thighs hang out. Someone that size should not let it all hang out. And once we were in Reno, NV and we saw a 75 year old woman wearing a neon green tube top over her 36D- EXTRA LONG hanging down chest. They almost went down to her hips. Yuck! I mean, I'm rarely a fashion plate when I walk out the door, but I do look in the mirror and make sure everything is in it's place and all my flab is covered. We go to the Farmer's Market for some veggies in the summer, but I want to grow stuff I use a lot of like tomatoes, cucumbers, yellow crookneck squash, and lettuce. Might need more pots though. I grow cucumbers and squash up tomato cages too rather than let them spread out, and it works just fine.

Anyway, I'd better get going on my day!

A big to everyone I missed!

Here's to a great day for all of us!

Happy, your DH has a Hummer garden?!! Who knew - I always thought they built those gas-guzzling monsters in Detroit or Japan or something. A bumper crop of those would sure pay for a lot of renos!!!

Madcat, I hope it was the very happiest of celebrations last night.

to everyone else. I'm not really back yet, just lurking while I do my time down in the doldrums.

Annie
I didn't sleep didaly again. Tossed and turned and made myself stay in bed until noon. I might as well have gotten up at 6 because I sure didn't get any sleep. That would really be nice to contact an old friend and get together.

Happy
I find that so sad. I know when I was a teenager there were a few girls that were over weight but not all that many, at least in my school. Most girls were built pretty much like they should be and we all had small waists. Try to find a girl now with a small waist. It isn't easy. I am not sure if it is eating habits, sitting around all the time or that woman just don't seem to have the pride in them selfs that they use to. There was a time woman knew they were better than men lol. Now females try to act like men ( just because we can do what a man can doesn't mean we have to ) and in turn have lost a great deal about our sex that made us better. I don't have a problem with people dressing how they want as long as their private parts are kept private. I think when we were young ( at least in my neck of the woods ) we thought more of our selfs and didn't have to show everything to everyone and sure wouldn't have if we weren't fit and trim. I would be happier to see a 60 year old woman with a nice figure in a pair of low rider jeans and a bellie shirt than I would be to see a 20 year old in the same outfit who is 80 pounds over weight.

Di
I started growing my tomatoes that way. I get to eat more of them because the dog gets to eat less of them lol. I remember waiting for this one tomato to get ripe. I watched it for days. My mouth watered at the thought. I went out one morning and it was GONE the dog got it before I did. I was not a happy camper lol. Potatoes are one of those things people have to watch, I know my dad did.

Michelle
It is so sad about animals at shelters. Even the best of the shelters can only do so much with what little money they have. It is hard not to go into one of those places and bring all the animals home.

Morning all,
Seems I don't get diddly squat time to read and answer personals these days. Ah well, time will come when I can.

Had a good workout at the gym this morning. 6.15KM, that 3.85miles in 48 minutes and burned 501 calories (according to the machine) I decided today was going to be cardio and although I normally do bike, elliptical and treadmill, today I decided to indulge myself and just run, so I did.
On the way home, I filled up the car - Wednesday is the cheapest gas - and went to the car wash (half price Wednesday) but the darn thing wasn't working. I'll have to go down again later. I have to do some shopping anyway - clean out of yoghurt and getting down on veg. So my lunch break will be in the shopping centre and the car wash - oh what fun.

Yesterday DS2 and I went tile shopping for the kitchen splashback. Naturally enough, the one thing I wanted was going to cost an arm and a leg so we are into compromise. We have a white ripple tile and some mini brick shaped small tiles for a feature - they are a charcoal shade and then we found a glass strip which looks like it has been smeared with oil. All the rainbow shades and will use that to break up the mass of black and white. Sounds funny writing it down, but I think it will work. I am waiting for the tile man to come up with samples so we can look at it at home and make the decision.

Hi ho - I owe - so it is off to work I go. Time to annoy the chickens again. I'll be back

Hello to all

My boss got in one of the main parts to the main control panel and installed it. I was a happy camper about 12.30 today.

Rennie
Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Happy
Wow, you are doing great with all that exercise.

Now I know why I hate HR. It's enough to drive the sanest person to the whisky bottle and keep them there. I mean heck what does PA61 - Quota Corrections mean when it is in the PA20/40 section. It's in with creating and deleting attendance records. I know what the PA61 means. I might just have to go to SAP and try and figure it out myself. Is there a quota of times a person can attend whatever Training and Event is being held? Is there a quota on the corrections a person can make. Who knows.

Okay grunge over.

Is anyone else having trouble with the site in that when they go to the Go Advanced section, they can't see the other posts?

I think I will just insert a couple of pics and be done with it for the time being.
Have you smiled today

What the animals get up to when you are away.

Cee
I got a few hours. My little eye balls popped open about 5 hours after I went to sleep so I just got up. No good reason to just lay there since I won't go back to sleep anyway. You would think I would be dead tired by now NOPE I bet I am up another 3 or 4 hours at least lol.

Shad
Those are cute. I bet Winkie sits around the hamster cages saying to himself, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Breakfast, lunch, dinner lol. One did get out and he brought it to me so maybe not lol.
