Friday I had my best run ever 2.5 miles at 5.2mph, with an extra 1.75 miles walked at 3.5mph. Saturday I did "intervals"; ran 1.4mi then walked 1/4, etc, so I ended up with a total of 1.75 miles ran and 2.5 miles walked. Sunday is my day of rest, so no exercise then. Today I plan on running 2.75 miles at 5.2 (keep your fingers crossed).

I did manage to run 2.75 miles straight yesterday!! :woohoo: And at 5.2, so I was able to reduce my 5K time quite a bit (from 39:40 to 37:45).
Miriam - I hope you get to feeling better soon. You've been suffering with this for a long time. |

How's the exercise? I really want to buy a resistance band, but haven't gotten to the mall to do it yet. I need to find the best weight loss workout in the shortest amount of time. Any ideas? |
Miriam - I wish I knew! If I don't do an hour at least 5 times a week, I don't see any results. Sometimes I just don't want to "waste" and entire hour, but you just got to do what you have to do. :shrug:
Exercising has been going okay. My neck/back has been acting up (lots of headaches and indigestion, expecially when I run :( ), but I've been plugging along. Tuesday I walked 4.5 miles, and Wednesday I ran 1.5 miles and walked 2.75. Yesterday I ran the whole 2.75 miles and walked 1.5. Still doing my running at 5.2, but I've been able to increase the walking parts to 3.7mph. Today I'll be walking. |
I often wonder if when I lose all my weight, if I'll look better or worse. I mean, after pregnancies & c-section.. I have one ugly tummy. I certainly feel my tush is a lot smaller, and my stomach IS smaller, but is hangs, ugh!!! And this rotten double chin! Grr! I'm having an i-feel-ugly day, although I shouldn;t!
My parents came for lunch today, and I was wearing a housecoat i got last year that just fit, and my father said - what's with you? you look like you're wasting away! I don't have a full length mirror <for obvious reasons, haha> so I hadn't noticed how giant it really is one me! I guess 23 pounds ain't nothing to sneeze at! |

I do have a full length mirror in my bedroom, but I didn't mount it on the wall. I have it leaning against the wall, and the angle makes me look extra tall and thin. Everybody in my family loves that mirror! :D I'm sure you'll look great. My Mom never had a c-section, but she has had 11 pregnancies, and while she couldn't be a bikini model, she looks great after losing all her excess weight. Sometimes I think she looks a bit too good! ;) |

Yes - it IS nice to be noticed, but it always makes me wonder - uh, did I look that bad before?!? Oh well. I did TONS of walking today - I can't even believe how much! There's tons of road works going on downtown, otherwise I would have taken the bus. Anyway - I'm really proud of myself - mono and all!! I've also reached the halfway mark on my weightloss!! |
I'm not sure about the hanging skin. She doesn't usually dress to show her abs! ;) She looks fine with clothes on, though. :D
Congrats on reaching the halfway mark!! I know that was exciting for me. I think I danced around the house for at least an hour!! I'm not feeling to great this week. It is harvest time, so there is lots of defoliant (horrible chemicals that they spray on the cotton so the leaves all die and fall off), plus the dust from the bean harvest. So my allergies are acting up horribly, to the point that I quite certain that I will have completely lost my voice by tomorrow. I didn't feel up to running yesterday, so I just played frisbee with the kids for 1/2 hour. I think that I will just not run this week, instead just focus on eating well, and getting in some nice long walks. |
I wasn't quite as exuberant about the halfway mark - heck, it means I have even harder work to take the rest off!!!! :P
I didn't do any exercising today - except if you count exercising my eyes - haha, do 3 hours of data entry - ugh!! Have Yom Kippur tomorrow night/thursday - so another no exercise day. at least it's a no-eat day, too!! :P |
My allergies are a lot better today, but I still won't be doing "official" exercise this week. I still get in 20-30 minutes of some random aerobic/stretching/hoppin in place, but not real structured exercise. I've got to get in my Columbus Day run Monday, so that will be my first day "back". I'm afraid that I won't be able to meet my goal since I haven't ran all week, but maybe I'll be rested up, and totally smoke it. Who knows? :D

I hate cardio. I love weight training for some reason, but I really don't like cardio, in the go to the gym and workout on a machine cardio. I only do it because I need to and I've made it part of my routine. I prefer walking, hiking, but they don't ever get me to that target heart rate and the only way I can do that is by going to the gym.
On the weekends it's doubly hard because I don't have a workout room in the next building I can pop over to during my lunch break. I keep telling myself I'll do Yoga, but I tend to talk myself out of it more often than not. |

I am thinking about restarting the gym soon. Thinking of ordering Jillian's 30-day shred and zumba dvds. Any input? |
I have the Shred. It is a good program, but I just couldn't stick with it. She does a lot of compound exercises, and while I didn't have any problem with the squats and stuff, the upper body exercises KILLED me. Even when I was doing it regular, I never could do it more than 3 times a week. I think at the time I was out of shape, and I plan on giving it another shot once I'm closer to goal (maybe the 150s). I'm not even sure what Zumba is, so no imput on that.
I really ready for my run this evening. I can't wait to see what I can do! |

I'm debating about purchasing any exercise stuff, I mean - I have a treadmill IN MY LIVING ROOM, and.... nothing!! Zumba ROCKS! Well - if you like latin music and dancing :) check it out online and on youtube. I wish they had Zumba classes ere! my friend in Houston lost over 40 lbs (and she wasn't heavy to begin with) just by doing Zumba twice a week. It;s fun! |
