Morning Rennie
See you snuck in to read Mels jokes before I got to post mine. |
Oh and Melody - That's blonde and not blond. You are definitely not male!
|
lol politically correct. No one would ever accuse me of being politically correct. I tend to say things in the nicest way I can BUT I do not pull punches and I don't worry, at times, about someone being offended. I don't see anyone caring if I am offended when they use Gods name as a curse word. I don't see them caring if I am offended when they have sexual relations in front of my children and myself that are against the bible. I have decided I don't care if they are offended either. I am teaching my children to stand up for that they believe in.
Ruth I love quilting. We have a quilting shop right down the street. We meet there once a week and have a whole lot of fun. |
Ear plugs might work. Who'd ever guess, i miss them like crazy right now. I had a Avon dinner banquet right after work and now they are sleeping. They look so angelic.I even miss hubby. It has been a busy few weeks. Things are GREAT!! Just busy. Not complaining at all!
HUGS!!!! |
Miss who? The earplugs, the kids or the DH?
Rennie - if we don't stand up for ourselves, who we going to call when the mob tramples right over the top of us?? We can happily be assertive, but I'm not keen on aggression. |
shad
I can sure understand that. I have just made sure my kids know they shouldn't let their rights be trampled all over. One never has to be overly aggressive to get ones point across. If you don't stand up for what you think is right you might as well be saying what you think is wrong is ok. |
Shad - thanks for passing along the good vibes on the job front. It WAS a good day today. I come in later in the morning and stay later in the evening so when I show up at work, the parking lot is full. (Not so bad as I get an extra walk in but it does mean I have to walk again at lunch to move my car closer to the door since it's pretty deserted when I leave. And I'm not in the best part of town either). Anyway, drove up this morning and wow, right in front of the door - primo parking spot :D Someone apparently had to leave for an early meeting. :celebrate: Getting a bonzer parking spot always puts me in a good mood. Then I have been tearing my desk apart looking for a document I desperately needed to get a project done for my boss - due on Friday. I saw the stupid thing a few weeks ago. Where could it be? I even knew the spot where it was on my desk. Frantically searched the pile of papers there 8 times over. Ever keep looking at something expecting it to change right before your eyes? :dunno: Finally today I thought to myself, I wonder if I filed the stupid thing? :chin: Sure enough, there the silly thing was, filed and neatly labeled right in front of my nose for the last 3 days. I am a "pile" person and pile people should never become "file" people. I may have many piles on my desk but I can find whatever I need quite quickly. Once or twice a year I feel guilty and decide to clean up and file things and then they are gone forever  So thank you Shad, today was a better day than I've had in a few weeks. Waving some good karma back to you. :wizard:
As far as the challenge, well maybe instead of chucking it into the closet, perhaps go back to basics. Pick one thing and just focus on it - vegetables, a bit of exercise, no eating after 7pm - something like it. C'mon - I'll do it with you. Ok? Sounds like you are quite busy at the moment and perhaps it's all a bit too much. Perhaps you could do laps around the office chasing after the roosters  Why is it universal that if you are called by your first / formal name then you are seriously in trouble? :yikes: Time to cuddle up with the pillow. Goodnight ladies... |

LOL!!! Shad -the kids and even hubby. Many loooong days away from home. I do the morning routine every day but have been working a lot of evenings with hair and Avon.Busy weekends too.
15 days, 1 hour, 8 minutes, 16 seconds til I leave for my Thanksgiving road trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Good morning chicks,
Mel, I want a motorized scooter thing. I keep pointing them out to DH when I see the commercials on TV. I'll put a flag on the back, a bike bell on the front, decorate the baskets with flowers and off we will go. I'll ride ahead of you and we can have our own parade :scooter: oh wait, looks like that would be getting exhaust in your face, can't have that now. Must make sure DH gets me the electric kind, that way we can time it so we run out of "juice" at the same time. I agree Shad - you need some at home time. Cripes you were barely unpacked from your vacation before you had to turn around, hop a plane and leave it all behind. I also find as the seasons transition that it reeks havoc on the old system. Found you a nice souvenier - how'd you like this while having your morning "aigs". Elvis doesn't look too happy about being on this monstrosity. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...lvisEggCup.jpg And with that, I'm off to work hoping to still ride a bit on the good vibes leftover from yesterday. Have a great day all... |
SHAD~ I FORGOT TO SAY...EAT PRUNES!!! I8 WAS JUST EATING MINE AND THOUGHT OF YOUR PLUMBING!!! WHEN THE ARSE CAN'T SPEAK IT GETS EVEN WITH US AND MAKE PEOPLE MISERABLE!!!
HAPPY~ GOOD MORNING LOVE...THE ELVIS EGG CUP?? WHAT WILL THEY THINK OF NEXT??? :faint: that's the best part about electric scooters....no gas, no exhaust, no oil changes!! ride those good vibes for all they're worth!! |
MELODY
I am glad they aren't very high. I am not very tall. The hubby just laughs and says I shouldn't laugh they say the same thing about me lol. |
Shad--Feel better soon. Mel is right about the prunes. Just think of them as dried plums.
Happy--Glad you found the lost file. I've done this many times. I have a bad habit of leaving things in the copy machine also. The Elvis aigs dish is cute. Goodness Holly is already counting down to Thankgsgiving. Howbeit the Canadians celebrate on a different day. Mel--The no exhaust, gas fumes is one of the reasons I bought the electric lawn mower this spring. Take it easy on the eye's paper work should be a no no. The challenge is going pretty good for me, But I'm like Happy I've taken a couple of things and tried to focus on this. One being exercise. I've been trying to get a mile in every day by the use of pedometer. The other is staying on schedule. Weigh in this morning is 181.8. I should be at a district water meeting today but I just couldn't bring myself to go. I am, however, going to a concert tonight in Jonesboro, AR. The Gaither's are preforming. I'll be back home tomorrow morning by 11 a.m. for a safety meeting. To much to close together for me to handle. |
If you can't stomach the prunes - sliced pears work well too. Chill them and give them a sprinkle of cinnamon for a nice treat.
|
Morning all,
Happy, your little aig is glowing with rich golden yolk. |
Okay, I feel much better today and thank you for all the suggestions a la prunes and pears. Actually I quite like prunes and eat them regularly. I think the problems are simply me putting too much pressure on myself to perform. And as if that wasn't enough, I pressure myself because others are not performing properly. Time to calm down and smell the roses - which because it is spring are starting to bloom on Parliament Hill. Speaking of Spring - we have had 2 fine days in a row (no rain) and it looks like another perfect morning coming up. Okay so having put the kaibosh on the weather, what else should I go stuff up?
Happy - That aigcup makes Mels little bag with the hounddog *** sticking out look a little less tacky - but not quite in the same league as the gates fireplace or the gates book ends or the wall and gates that didn't seem to have a purpose. Not a lot will beat that Christmas ornament though or the clock with the pendulum legs. Seasons never used to worry me in the tropical north - however when you think about it, they don't really have seasons. It's either hot and wet and sticky, or warm and delightful. Here they have the lot and often all in one day. As for the pile versus file. I'm a bit of both and bloody lax on both of them. But what annoys me most is searching for the bit of paper I KNEW I put just there (and put bits on/ over/ in front of/ behind (cross out that not applicable) and can't find it. I go through the pile/ file again. I go through the pile/ file again. Swear mightily and go put on another load of washing or whatever and return to find the piece of paper has miraculously manifested itself on the top of the pile. Where it had been before is a total mystery. I'm becoming sure I need the lease on the room next door to my Mothers in the Home. Mel I don't get anything about Maxine - half the time I don't seem to see any attachments these days. Maybe the company firewall is blocking them out no tickers, no graphics. So what has Maxine been throwing in the air - laigs?? Mind you I did get Elvis' aigcups. Even the powers that be can't keep a good Elvis aigcup invisible. Thanks for the vibes and tonic. I think there is just too much on my plate at the moment to worry about the challenge. It doesn't mean that I will go out and eat a huge bowl of spaghetti bolognaise chased down by good NZ Toppa icecream. It just means that I won't put pressure on myself to get up, get exercised, get to work, get to the shops, get the team sorted, do some more exercise etc.etc.etc. I'll just concentrate on smaller meals, and taking my fluid tablets. Something that if I don't do, weightgain will be guaranteed and I can carry up to 5Kg of water/ fluid in this body so I have found previously. My team finish first!! :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3: That I have to live to see. The absolute miracle will be if any of us get finished in time. Holly - the countdown has begun. You will get to meet The good witch Ruthxxx and the stately Hershey, and be run over by the irrepressible Lucy. I'm sure you will have a grand time. If you let Lucy take you for a run, you WILL lose weight. Rennie - Now I am really wondering what we are talking about with Maxine. They aren't very high??? The mind boggles. Okay, I had better go get ready for my team meeting this morning. I'm practising cracking the stock whip. (Not sure if anyone else other than the Aussies understand that crack - they have competitions here for cracking the whip). Since they haven't achieved objectives yet again - no dinner for them. I'll have to have a word or two. See ya |
Shad
lol Maxine is saying she loves leprechauns because you can kick them in the butt easily. They aren't very tall you don't have to raise your foot very high. My husband tells me not to laugh. The leprechauns say the same thing about me. They don't have to lift their foot very high to kick me in the butt. |
Hey, I can see that one. I could have several teeshirts made of cat hair, the cat loses so much. I could have a black one, a ginger one, a white one, a tortoise shell one etc.
Better go sort out the masses yet again. |
I want to see Mel's bag. Now you have me curious...
Gotta run. I'm going to actually try and get to work early.   Of course getting there early means I won't have to stay there until it's almost dark out. |
HAPPY~ THE LITTLE ELVIS SHOPPING BAG WITH THE STUFFED HOUD DOG STICKING HIS HEAD....NOT HIS BUTT....OUT OF A HOLE IN THE FRONT!!! RIGHT NOW IT IS NEXT DOOR. MARY'S GRANDDAUGHTER IS SLEEPING WITH IT THIS WEEK. :cloud9: SHE IS A PETITE ELVIS FAN.
SHAD I AM GLAD THAT YOU ARE GETTING THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE. IT'S JUST ALL A BIT MUCH AND BECAME A MUCCLE. NOW YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK I WILL LEAVE YOU TO IT AND NOT USE THE PROD....I WAS CHARGING IT UP FOR JIC!! :cheer: ROOTING ON YOUR TEAM:cheer: PS~ I THOUGHT YOU MEANT 9/26 AND NOW I SEE MY NOTE SAYS 10/26 FOR GOING HOME! :faint: JEN POINTED OUT THE ERROR OF MY WAYS WHEN SHE READ MY POST-IT AND SAYS HELLO!!! I GAVE HER YOUR MESSAGE AND SAYS YOU ARE TOO KIND. I SAY YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE WITH HER....BUT THEN SHE SAYS THAT ABOUT ME. SINCE WE LAST MAILED...MY PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SOLVED. SENDING MANY  RENNIE~ YOU AND ME BOTH...5' 2 1/2" 0VER HERE :lol3: I LOOK TALL IN THE CHAIR CAUSE I HAVE A LONGER TORSO THAN LEGS!!! BUT AN ELF COULD KICK MY BUTT!!! CEEJAY~ I WAS CAREFUL WITH THE PAPERWORK AND DID IT IN INCREMENTS. HOPE YOUR FUMELESS MOWER IS A JOY TO YOUR LUNGS!!! I AM RUNNING OUT THE DOOR. WEATHER IS GOOD BUT HUMIDITY NIS ON IT'S WAY SO I WANT TO GET OUT EARLY. WAVING A HAND AT ALL THE CHICKS  HAPPY FRIDAY AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!:moped:  MADCAT..MEADOW..NAE..RUTH..PAINTER..HOLLY..SUZI..T IG..TEAL..LINUS..AND MISS CARLA I AM SENDING YOU  AND  |
MELODY
Oh, you are one of those tall people stop complaining lol. I will be 5 foot someday lol. I have long legs and a short torso that is how I can reach the leprechauns bums lol. Ceeja I got an electric mower years ago to help with the trimming around the sliding doors and the patio. Yard is just a bit to big to try to mow it with one of those things. Heck, would have to have miles of extension cord lol. Shad Have you ever noticed the darn things never run out of hair. My gosh Winkie sheds so much you would think he should be bald by now and it never looks like he has lost a single hair. My daughter should get the Elvis lover of the year award. Has loved the man, I swear, since the day she was born. " Mom Elvis didn't die, he just went home. " lol |
Mel--I must of missed the post about the hound dog. You and I used to be the same height. I'm now 5'2" due to the osteoporosis. But I can still kick a little high.
The Gaither concert was great last night. Suzi hasn't been here for awhile. Hello to Reenie, Happy, Shad, Madcat, Meadow, RoseBlush, and PainterWoman. |
wow Ceejay - I don't know why but I had the impression that you were a "long drink of water" - I imagined you at 5 foot 10 or something. Maybe Ceejay is just a tall sounding name
Guess we do have a bunch of shorties here. That's ok. We're petite. Wouldn't have it any other way. Get to meet new friends at the grocery store - 'scuse me mister - could you please reach that cereal/jar/can/bottle off the top shelf for me please? Another advantage of being short is I can lurk around the office - no one can see me passing through the partitions so I can sneak up on people  |

Keep your eyes open Toronto ladies, this fellow is one of yours ;) I've been reading but talking in my head and not posting, whoopsies:o Welcome Rennie  I've never ironed a sheet and I don't own an ironing board. I think the iron I had was used by my husband to put some wood trim on something and is covered in glue. My laundry is sitting in three baskets waiting to be put away since Wednesday, so you can see me and my family are very wrinkled and rumply  Mel-the pic above is to help you start your weekend :D How are you doing with this foul weather? I've had to put the heat on here, rainy days, fall starts on Sunday. Looking forward to the leaves changing. Happy-loved the jokes, unique up on them :P lol MMM, sliced pears sound yummy. I want pears now! The neighbours gave me some apple/pear sauce they made, I think I'll put some in the blender with a bit of ice and or maybe frozen strawberries. Scooby doo just sounded in my head, must be hungry :p  Ceejay-are you singing after your concert? Glad you had a nice evening out. Did you go to the safety meeting? You sound like the challenge is working well for you. I'm still doing fine with my exercise, averaging three times a week. The food choices are not too bad also :broc: yeah! Shad-how goes the overseeing of the young whips? Are they bowing to your higher authority or giving you the gears? I would love to have your power! :carrot: Your marinated recipe gave me the push to do some ginger beef and broccoli for dinner with brown basmati rice. Thank you, I would never have gotten there without your twigging my brain ;) Ruth-quilting sounds like fun. I just crocheted a caterpillar for my daughter. Hugs to you and Lucy and Hershey. Glad Lucy is being her irrasible self :D Holly-turkeys are on sale right now, gobble, gobble. Hope you and the kids are keeping your good energy and hubby is still smiling while he lends a hand. PainterWoman-what colours have you mixed up? I was playing with my paintshop program and created a fuzzy chrysanthemum in a vase, that I printed and framed. Messed with the light on it and it turned out okay. Hope your creative spirit is soaring. Carla- Tickles to the kitties. I hope you are feeling positive and smiling at the cloud formations out your window. Hello all you chicks of the world, you splendid fluffy yellow wonders! |

Very cute little girl and what a wonderfull age.
|
And she's not like her mother is she - NOT MUCH! Nice photos Holly.
Well here I am at work again despit vowing I need not come in this weekend. Some twits got together in a meeting yesterday and decided that the workflow of events on one of my courses was to be updated. Well thank you very much. It won't take much to change. Won't it? Would you like to do it then? It's only 2 Quick Reference Guides (QRG's) to be changed. My South African co-worker, who was in on the meeting (I was even invited) said that it shouldn't take long to do the two guides. No I said it won't, but the ripple effect will. What ripple effect she said. Those two QRG's are referenced through out the entire course and a few other courses as well. It's the ripple effect that will take the time. So thank you, there goes my weekend. I now have to go through every document we have written looking for the references to these two. I am so pleased. I could say I am so pleased I feel like chucking something through the nearest window. The only one of us who has any height at all is Carla. She tells me she feels like a giant among us. But that's okay, we need someone with lofty visions. I hope she comes back soon. Great jokes Happy. Started my office day off well. Now I can get started with a smile instead of a grimace. Don't you remember the little plastic coated bag with the dog sticking out of it. I thought it was the butt but Mel says it is the head. The other side from the head is a picture of Elvis with a big Hound dog. I put your key ring in it to take to Mel. Meadow - Ginger beef sounds so nice. The pics not bad either. Unfortunately I'm not in TO anymore. Madcat will have to go looking. Mind you she has her own cutie so she may not see much else. Have a poem here. Actually it came with pictures, but I can't reduce the pics to put them on here. So I'll rejig the poetry. Back in a minute with the masterpiece. I may never see tomorrow Theres no written guarantee And things that happened yesterday belong to history. I cannot predict the future I cannot change the past I have just the present moment I must treat it as my last. I must use this moment wisely For soon it will pass away And be lost to me forever As part of yesterday I must exercise compassion Help the fallen to their feet Be a friend to the friendless Make an empty life complete The unkind things I do today May never be undone Any friendships that I fail to win May nevermore be won I may not have another chance On bended knee to pray And I thank god with humble heart For giving me this day. Have a nice day. And don't spend it in the office - it's Friday - get out there and embrace your weekend |

Quickie again! You chickies are nutso! I'll never get caught up!
Love the fireman, Meadow. I can be in Tranna in 3.5 hours but think I'll skip the drive. Happy BD to Heather, the wee princess. What a cutie! Yes, Carla is tall but a gentle giant. I love meeting 3FC friends IRL and hope to meet all of you someday. I must list who/whom I've met! (It's whom but who sounds better, right? I'm too obsessive! Just slap me. ) Dashing through as usual today. Lucy does a weigh-in and prescription renewal at the local vet this morning. Then we will go to visit Harry and take him his weekend beer which he seems to enjoy. He has a pretty flat affect but beer gets a spark as do the dogs. I sometimes think they should just have little casks and I could just send them to visit in a cab - if we had cabs. After that, the afternoon is mine! I'll be making my real-food dogfood which I've run out of. I might even get to do some painting or cutting for my quilt project. Loud woofings from the yard....I may have company and I'm still in my robe! :yikes: Maybe it's that fireman! |
Good Morning all
Hello, I thought the girl from the Wilderness should check in and howdy! My heart skipped a beat this morning after letting out my dogs, I soon heard a coyote yipping very close by and was so scared Toby would go after it. The little girl Teeka came right in and soon Toby returned to the house. I grabbed my.22 and loaded it with the first bullets I could find....just bird shot for my flickers and fired a few the coyote immediately shut up and hopefully ran. I do hope there is not a kill some place close to the house they are taking care of. I do not want to lose another dog to predators. So you can just call me Annie Oakley this morning, so much for sleeping in!!!!!!
I am back from my trip to Minnapolis and it was so much fun. Minnapolis is a great city and very livable I decided. Now I have to my picture board and get my speech ready. Trying not let that thought scare me toooooo much!!!!!!! SO nice to see everyone here and see some new faces too. I can hardly keep up with all of you when I take off for a while. The fire restrictions are off right now and fall is cooling everything off. I do love this time of year. Take care everyone and many Blessings! Peace, Nae |
Here is my little addition for the morning
|
'morning ladies,
The weekend's here :yay: Well I guess it is for some of us. Sorry to hear you have to work Shad. Ugh. That seems to be the nature of the industry - someone makes a snap decision without forethought and everyone else has to scramble to make it happen. I hope you won't have to give up your entire weekend. :( After stressing out and chasing my tail for the last 2 weeks, my new goal is to get in front of the tsunami instead of being caught rolling in the undertow. Since it's the weekend, I will start with the house. And if I have time I will dig into the pile of papers I brought with me from work. A friend asked us if we wanted to meet them in Las Vegas for a long weekend just after Christmas. We haven't been to Vegas in over 4 years. It will be a good incentive for me to step up the weight loss efforts - both to look better going home for Christmas as well as sitting comfortably on the plane for the long ride west. I am motivated. Slap me - HARD if I drift off again. Thank you. Poor Mel. I'm not sure moving you out to the country would help those peepers but we have to get you away from the big city and to a smaller, less messy area without all the pollutants and irritants. I tried to talk DH into moving to Rhode Island but that fell through. Would have been closer to you for a visit. Do whatever you need to in order to be comfortable. Coffee cup is empty which means it's time to start cleaning. Have a good weekend chicks - whatever your plans bring you. |
Holly-You have a beautiful and precious daughter.
Nae- :yikes: a coyote near by. It's a good thing you keep the .22 rifle handy. Meadow--Thanks for the picture of the hunky fireman. Yes, I enjoyed the concert. Mel--I'd invite you down here but right now the farmers are harvesting their crops and the golden rod is in full bloom. I've been eating allergy medicine. So far I've not been to the doctor for a shot. Happy--You can stay motivated now that you have something to look forward to. I am planning on a new goal of 172 by Thanksgiving. Weighed in this morning at 181.4. Ruth-Enjoy your visit with Harry. Slept till ten oclock this morning and have a headache as a result. Went to the furniture store to see if they had the coffee table that went with my end tables. She is going to order it. I may not be able to get the single chair to the sofa, but she's going to try. I can still make it work. I need to get up and start cleaning the house. I just don't want to. |

Skipped Church this morning because dear Lucy seems to be checking out.
It's very strange because she was fine yesterday although restless last night. This morning she's not eating, breathing very heavily and is listless. My Church friends came in to visit and she did manage a polite wag for each of them but that's it. She doesn't seem in pain but just wants to lie on her bed. I am afraid this is "it" and am hoping she just falls asleep and departs on her own. Otherwise, I'll make the hard decision and call the vet. Dammit I love that dog! I didn't know I could cry so much! |
