Hello! Yesterday I rode my bike for 65 minutes. I hope to do at least the same today. I've been cleaning around the house also and am on a mission to buy furniture for my 12 year old son's room. He wants it to look like a science lab! Fun!!!

'Noon everyone! So since today was a holiday, the Y wasn't open so no exercise for me. Which is okay since I've been busy getting my stuff together to apply for that escort position. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get it! Tomorrow, me and my mama are going to try to go look at these apartments I was interested in. I really wanted my mama to come because she's really the only person's whose advice I really value and listen to. My eating has been very good today and I think a large part of it has to do with the fact that I was doing dishes today so I wasn't delivering which means I wasn't surrounded by food. WI was this morning: 244.6

Good morning all, it is the am, so I can say that. Had a pretty good day yesterday, got my groceries done, so good food in the house only, did 45 mins. floor exercise, my walking was just at 2 grocery stores, hope to get more in today. Stayed on my diet and drank a fair amount of water, need to work harder on that too. Called re-information for my arm operation, doc still has to call back. Talk to you all later.

Okay back to the old grindstone today. Did the am workout before heading to work. So last night I made whole wheat pizza dough and tonight that's for dinner. Is it wrong that I am thinking about dinner when it isn't even 9am?
Everyone have a healthy day!

Good morning everyone! I have still been a busy bee around here! Ugghhhh....But I wanted to check in with all of you to encourage you all that we CAN do this! I got back doing OKAY with food yesterday and am really proud of how many healthy foods I had yesterday BUT I did over do it on the coffee and creamer! 40 oz and 6.5 tbs creamer instead of 32 oz and 5tbs. That is the difference between having 195 cals and 250!!
I need to get back on the kick of not having it at all except for the weekends but right now I am trying to concentrate on eating the good foods again. I did pretty good yesterday, the only really bad thing I ate was two white flour tortillas. Left over from new years, I don't mind though but normally when I go to the store I get the wheat. I do feel bad cause I did not walk and have been bad about that the last week. But to my defense Karolina was sick and puking so I did not want to go anywhere and leave her!!
Apple, raw 63 0 16 0
Orange, raw 62 0 15 1
Blueberries, frozen, unsweetened 53 1 13 0
Coffee, made from ground, regular 24 0 5 1
Hazelnut Creamer 228 10 33 0
Ezekiel 4:9 100% flourless sprouted grain bread (0 sugar!) 160 1 30 8
Honey 43 0 12 0
Beans, pinto, mature seeds, cooked, boiled, with salt 234 1 44 14
Guerrero 260 9 40 6
Arrowhead Mills Organic Creamy Valencia Peanut Butter 2tbs 1 sugar gram 95 9 3 4
Tillamook Medium Cheddar Cheese(1 oz, no trans fat, cultured milk, salt, enzymes, annato(color), contains no animal rennet
Walnuts 164 16 3 4
Centrum Vitamins 0 0 0 0
Salad dressing, KRAFT Ranch Dressing 74 8 1
Tea, leaf, unsweetened 2 0 1 0
Carrots, raw 28 0 6 1
Oscar Mayer FF Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast(3 slices) 40 0 2 8
Lettuce, cos or romaine, raw 12 0 2 1
Spinach, raw 13 0 2 2
Mom's Sp. Rice w/ 1 tbs of Olive oil
ANyhow I just copied all that straight from my fitday, don't feel like typing it out! Oh I also got some garlic onion and tomato in my salsa! My cals were at 1791 so a bit more than I wanted but compared to my other really bad days where I was scared to even COUNT the cals! This is a big step in the right direction! I was also very good since we had left over nach chips and sauce from new years day and I wanted em for breakfast and gave the rest of the chipos to the kids so i would NOT be tempted! I had my fruit smoothie instead! I also wanted to have bean and cheese burritos for lunch and that wouldn't of been so bad BUT I might of started getting on a bad trip and then what to have for dinner etc? So I had my ezekiel bread, some organic creamy peanut butter and a lil honey and a serving of walnuts! Yesterday Joey had to work til 7:00 to. *sigh* Around 3:30 I was munchy but I went in there and fixed a salad! 1.5 cups romaine, 6 spinach leaves, .50 cup carrots, 33 FF slices of lunchmeat turkey,1 tbs ranch! I was so proud of myself! For dinner was bena and cheese burritos, two of them and .50 cup spanish rice and some salsa, onion , garlic, cilantro, tomato. Also had a cup of green tea.
So today I am doing good so far, pb sandwich packed for lunch and had my smoothie. I will grab some walnuts too. Four of The kids are taking to the oatmeal well too. Even added a lil honey to it so they are happy and Joey liked it too! Yeah!
Someone asked about my teeth a while back I think. I am doing pretty good. They are not sore any more thank goodness, still trying to finish up my amoxcillin though and taking an ibuprofen with it for good measure. For some reason when I was trying to finish the last of the amoxcillin last time it was like every nite I would have small panic attacks! I am not getting that this time though. I just need to find out about getting a partial now.
Today I need to go pay the rent I really hate going there cause the lady who owns the realty place is so snooty and had once threatened to throw us out.
When I left two years ago to go to montana we had given her notice but had not planned on leaving for sure. SO usually when I do this (move from somewhere),I send one in every month til we move. Well I had really wanted to wait two months but when my ex called and remember he had started getting really violent the time he was home before? I was scared! He told me he was on the verge of losing his job (trucking) cause he thought he wouldn't pass the physical and my ex~dh had lost many jobs thru our marriage peeps so don't get me wrong here! And I have stood by him thru all of it but this time was different. He was getting violent and had threatened to beat me up the previous time he was home so that is when I was seriosuly wanting to move, him calling and telling me he would be home in a week and probably with no job spelled BIG TROUBLE for me and my kids! I was terrified! And I knew he would be even worse without a job and he would have no job to go to so he would NOT be eventually leaving! So I felt it was now or never kind of thing.
SO long story short I had to do what I could to put as much stuff as I could in storage, I generally try to leave a house spotless but in this circumstance I couldn't. There was still alot of heavy stuff in the garage, the house needed to be painted, I had tried to get rid of as much stuff as I could but it wasn't enough. One fence plank was gone, the stupid handle to the sliding glass door was off. Now mind you you can still push it open and lock it etc. Anyhow she had a cow!!! I was paid up on my rent though. When we found out a few weeks later we would need to be coming back I knew there was no other affordable place and Joey called and smooth talked her into letting us have the house back and that she hadn't called the owner yet even. But she let me have it and said she was tempted to put an eviction on my credit since the fence was "broken" and the sliding glass door was "broken", etc. You can imagine. He smooth talked her and said he would be here to help me and to fix everything up and paint, steam clean, new blinds, etc. So thank God she let us move back in but ever since then I am scared. She did come a few months later to check. It met her approval thank goodness. But that is very scary! I thought we could be homeless!! About 6 months ago she jkust happened to be in the area and Joe does a pretty good job with the yard and roses and stuff and everything was in bloom and the grass was cut and looking nice etc and when he went to pay the rent that month she told him what a wonderful job he was doing here and what a great help he was to Sarah etc and that she had met my ex and could see how I could be depressed with him, etc. hahaha
Anyhow so Joey usually trys to take care of paying the rent and when we had a car he would even do it on his luch break but now with the bus unless it falls on a sat it is impossible! *sigh* So I need to go over there this a.m. I HATE going! But I always remind myself that I am very fortuante that we always have the money to PAY it! There was many years with the ex where we were always struggling with rent in an apt etc. Anyhow got to run but I wish everyone well! We can do this!!
I am also getting my walking in today for sure!!
I hope everyone is doing well!

Oh and a little sidenote, I did change my ticker back to the two pounds I gained and that it said 210 new years day, but yesterday the damn scale said 212! Good lord! I am sad by this but other than getting back on plan I am not going to beat myself up over this! I really do NOT believe that I gained 2 pounds in one day though and the last few days I had been eating bad AND salty food! Like chips, nachos, onion dip, etc. SO I am hoping that 2 pounds is just water etc. I did good eating yesterday and will again today and am walking today so i am getting back on track. Focus people!!

Hey guys, took me a while to get back, but here I am.
I managed to maintain over the holidays, which is good in my books. I fluctuated, but once everything was said and done, and I weighed myself this morning (official holidays ending yesterday), and I was the same as when I started.
Work has been stressing me out. It has been making me very tired and very grouchy. I work an administrative job, and do some of the accounting, and it's the financial year end, everything is due by January 31st, and everything is so out of wack, and done wrong from before I started working there, and I'm ready to tear my hair out.
So I've been taking "me" time to relax. Today I started getting hot flashes in the left side of my face in the middle of dealing with a work crisis. It was so weird. But don't worry, I'm keeping an eye on it, and will go see a doctor if it happens again.
My goals:
- Organization and budgeting. Big one for me
- Quit smoking (this is my month!)
- Opt to walk over taking a drive if able to (ie: today I walked, but shouldn't have, we had freezing rain).
- Workout at least 3 times a week.
- Stay on top of my day-to-day chores.
That's that!
Happy New Year everyone!
~Mande

Mia, It just seems like a not very nutritious day. A lot of it is processed stuff (sugar and starch)which could put you on a sugar roller coaster, which will cause headaches.

Mia: I have to agree with Ennay here. There doesn't seem to be any fruits or vegetables, which I feel will either make or break my day usually. If I don't have them, I eat awful. And if you are putting white sugar on cereal, chances are it's about a teaspoon or so, and that can be a lot of sugar for your body, causing a spike, and with it, a quick and hard crash, which can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, etc. I definitely feel you on the headache thing. I had a hot flash on one side of my face today, and later tonight I've realized that I have a fever :S So I feel pretty blah, too.
And tonight was TLT (my version of a BLT - Turkey Lettuce Tomato), but I didn't feel well enough to eat it

Jasmine, I can really feel for you, like I said before, it could be me talking when you talk about your X and the things that happened. Your better now and that is what is important. I know paying rent is the pits, especially when you have a rotten land lady.
We rented one house from the neighbours right across from my parents, there son owned the house, it was also on the same street as them, so I always felt we were being watched, I was even afraid to hammer a nail in the wall to hang a picture (going a while back), and even if the lawn wasn't just right, I was freaking. It was terrible, I was really happy when we were finally able to buy our own house, after many years of renting. You will too, it just takes time and if not maybe you will eventually find another house even nicer and in your price range to rent!
Your two pounds sounds like water weight, from all the salt.
Well I did okay with eating healthy today and did about 40 mins. floor exercise, but was not up to doing the walking, still fighting the cold and we had a nice visit from my Dad today, he was actually riding his 3 wheel bike, here in Canada, with No Snow and the weather was quite nice, although windy, I got him to stay for a bowl of soup, I still get a charge out of that bike riding at the age of 94, 95 next month!
Here is to a good day for everyone tomorrow.

Mia, sounds like you didn't have nearly enough protein. I try to eat protein w/everything even snacks. I'm trying to eat a balance of protein and carbs -- maybe slightly more of the carbs -- but I know when I get a good balance of each that I am satisfied for several hours. Also, don't go more than three hours or so w/out eating something. Small, frequent meals will keep your bloodsugars level, which in turn makes you feel good and avoids that rollercoaster. Also, drink enough water. Not drinking enough can give you a headache. Good luck!

Mornin ladies! Yesterday was a HORRIBLE eating day but it also was my first workout day of the new year. Today has been okay so far. Last night, I went ahead and premade all my sandwiches for this week. See, that's what was throwing me off the last two weeks. As they say, 'if you fail to plan, you plan to fail'

Okay so I think that the working out is really starting to pay off. I just noticed this morning that my midsection feels so much tighter. Don't get me wrong there is still flab, but it just feels stronger and I don't have to suck in so much if that makes since. Another piece of motivation for me!
Canuk: That is so awesome to hear about your Dad! My grandparent still go dancing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights and they are 85! DH and I went with them once and it was so great to all their friends and them having so much fun, they actually wore us out!
martiniforme: What a great idea! TLT, I am going to have to try that.
mia: Just try for a healthier day tomorrow!

Hi ladies!!!!! It has been a while, My work crazy got way crazy then the Holidays and 4 days of christmas (and dinners, food, sweets). My days are finally back to normal. My kids or I were sick through all of December, and today is the first day we are all feeling normal!!!!!
Well through the Holidays I gained 5 pounds but with what I ate, I am suprised it wasn't more. I am back on track as of yesterday I ate about 1400 calories, I plan on eating 1400 again today. I am slowly working my exercise routine back up to 60 minutes a day. I really need to start pilates again, it is amazing how my stomach has changed without doing it for a month. The two things I want to work on in the new year: cut out the salt/sodium and NO SODA! not even diet. I noticed a pattern with my body: if I have soda (all I drink is diet) then I retain water so much for 5 days. I have stopped drinking it all together. I hope I will lose the 5 pounds I gained quickly.
