I just wanted to get on here quick and say after our walk tonight, we went by MIL house. (We walked right past it on the way, so stopped on the way back). She offered blueberry muffins, but all I had was a glass of water. Yea! Pat on the back for me!!!
Well, another day gone…one day closer to summer break! HAHA! Not much to report. I did have some sad news today – a co-worker of mine found out that they found her son dead today. He died of a drug overdose – I think he was only 21. I got a phone call after school from my boss – and she told me the news – how sad. I feel so sorry for her! He lived in Florida so I guess she’s probably already half way there. I just can’t even imagine the pain she is feeling right now. My poor friend….
OH – guess what! We’ve got a little group together that will meet at school early in the morning and do a 20 minute walk before the kids take in. I think that’s a great start for me – I’m really excited. We will walk the halls so it shouldn’t be hot!
TALITHA: He is so beautiful!! Picture perfect – I know you are enjoying him so much!!
THIN: HAHA! Funny thing is – I’ve got a kid in my class this year that tried to run away last year! And – he punched and kicked the principal last year!! What a loo loo! WTG on passing on the drinks and having crystal light instead!! Also – the muffins!!
SOLLY: OMG! I could never deal with the EDBD kids all day! I do have some in my homeroom but I only have them half a day. I block with another first grade teacher so they spend half a day with her!
MONET: It’s always so much more fun to have a partner to walk with – it goes by much faster!
TONI: Home made bread sounds so yummy! It makes me think of my grandmothers home made dinner rolls!! YUM!!
BOB: OH MY!! I can’t believe you didn’t sleep at all!! What’s the deal? I sure hope your aches and pains go away soon! You must be miserable! As for the kids…I’ve got 2 criers too – and they are driving me and my partner teacher completely nuts! The first few days we were sympathetic now it’s like “GET OVER IT!” HAHA!
THUNDER: Don’t worry about the slip up – just get right back on the wagon! I’ll pull you up!
PANCHO: HEY!!! Great to see you! I just came back myself! Time sure does get away from you when you aren’t looking! Before you know it – 3 months pass and you haven’t posted! Glad you are back!
OK I’m heading out for now – since Talitha was able to post a picture of the little one – I’m going to try again to post one of Alexis!
See you tomorrow! Missy

TALITHA: Great picture! He is as cute as Jacob and Selah, and almost as cute as Kaeleb! (Ok, I admit a BIT of prejudice...)
PANCHO: I was considering emailing you to see how you were, so it was a joyful surprise to see your post! Once I get good at this grandmothering, I am going to have to adopt your two!
I am drinking a cup of Sleepytime tea and hoping for a good night's sleep. My meetings today went well... We got a lot accomplished tonight, so I am pleased!
Here is another picture of Kaeleb... He is one week old today, and had his first pediatrician appointment. He is doing great! He weighed in at 9 lb 11 oz! Laura said that proves she is not exaggerating when she says he is a pig!
Solly--For the Ky. Wildcats: Cat's Whiskers stew with Kentucky Flat Bread, "Mild, not Wild," special MOUNTain recipe.
This refers to moo shu pork with the paper thin pancakes that I'm also serving. The MOUNTain part is a reference to the Western Carolina Catamounts that the Gators play for their 12th game this year.
Complete menu:
The Red Tide is a Dead Tide Punch
Smokey's Bones
Put the "Nights" to Bed Tidbits (refers to the Golden Knights--will be pigs in the blanket)
Bulldog Beignets "A Gator treat: Chopped Dawg Meat"
Spicy Chopped Gamecock with Carolina cooked veggies ala "Ch's a Cokck" Spurrier
Golden Baked Eagle Stuffed with Tiger-style Hash (twice cooked and very tender)
Vandy Candy "They're Nuthin' but Shrimps" tempura
and the Cats' Whiskers stew
finally, Clown Town Cookies "Their fortunes have turned" and Gator Glory Cake
This, in reality, will be
Sangria
Cheese straws shaped like bones
pigs in a blanket
Chinese appetizer with ground pork etc, steamed in won ton wrappers
Spicy chicken and vegetables
Chinese boneless stuffed chicken
Tempura shrimp and veggies
Moo Shu Pork
Fortune cookies (I've changed the fortunes inside them)
and cake with a gator logo on top.
Talitha--VERY CUTE little boy!!
Fruit-and your pictures were adorable too!!
No more news from here. I'm doing well with my eating. Am only weighing once a week. I don't know exactly how I will do at the party, but I will let you know. I just don't want to overeat. I think I may try to forgo any cake. But I probably will have sangria.
Bob_Thanks for the quiche recipe. I made it last night and had some for breakfast this morning. It's wonderful!
My one week plan is working so far. I'm hoping that the results will be extremely motivating for me to continue. I just need to keep my will power strong.
Wow this is so wonderful... The board is so strong.... So many different posts. Just got off the treadmill. I've got 4 days in this week and my goal is 5 so hopefully before I go out with a friend tomorrow I'll get on and walk my way to the 5th day. My eating has been good but I've had several glasses of wine this week. Last night was burritos in ww shells. This morning I've had a kashi bar for breakfast. The cleaning lady is here so I couldn't get in the kitchen to make me anything else.
Pancho- Its so good to see you posting. Sure would be nice if you could pop on once a week and talk to us. Hope you get off that sugar soon! I've had trouble this summer with it too.
Thunderwoman- Did that kind of eating when my kids were here for a visit. Can't seem to control my food when we have company. Now its time for us to get going on eating right.
Gator- Your party sounds so fun. The menu is just great....
Fruit- Your little one is a cutey!! I'm so sorry for your friend. I can't hardley think of anything worse.
Bob- I hope you got a good nights sleep and rested up. I just hate when I can't sleep good.
Monet- Oh my gosh what a sweetie you've got. Are you going to be teaching art this year?
Thin- Way to go on passing up the muffins.
Well time to go. Need to figure out what to have for dinner tonight.
It is has been a nerve racking morning. I went to the American Cancer Society's Kick Off Breakfast for their Breast Cancer walk. I was nervous about going and going alone. THe parking garage was a nightmare. I had to park in the very last teeny tiny spot. I bet I backed up and forward no less than 25 times. I had a line of cars behind me and there was no way to go anywhere to get out. By the time I finally got in the space, I was a wreck, sweating and shaking. When I came out, I asked some man to watch me so I could get out. It only took about 4-5 times. I am still rattled and everything has gone wrong since I have been at work. Guess it's going to be one of those days.
Got to the gym (Monet, I posted on the exercise board too). Got 25 minutes of elipitical and 30 minutes of wts.
Won't get there tonight, DH is playing softball. Hopefully I can get on our at some point before bed.
Monet, it is nice to have a walking partner. Glad you found one. I don't see h ow you could ever put that boy down. What a cutie. OK now we have to drag Country back here.
Toni, You are doing so great. Keep up the good work.
Bob, Hope you got some sleep last night.
Thunder, Put last week behind you and start anew. Don't let those binges develop into a gain. You have done so great. You can do it.
Pancho, I am so excited to see your post. I see all our pleading and vibes brought you back. We would love even 1 post a week. Glad the girls are doing to well. Maybe you will get a break while Lane is in school. You have done great with only gaining 3 lbs. 123 is a number I will never see. Welcome back.
Thin, Way to go girl, see you can do this. BTW, I made that banana cake recipe. I used ww flour instead of the white and made it into muffins instead of a cake. It is wonderful. So filling. It calls for 1/2 cup of splenda, I only used 1/4 and probably could used a little less. Next time I will add some walnuts. Everyone should try it. Nice change.
Fruit, I am so excited for you that you have a walking group. What great support. You are on your way girlfriend. Sending prayers for your friend. How terrible. I don't know how anyone survives a death of a child. I could just gobble Alexis up. She is adorable.
Gator, how in the world did you come up with that stuff. Much less the names. Enjoy your party, you deserve it.
Ladies, your mod is a bum! I came in from my walk, had some breakfast, did a bit of emailing for my volunteer positions, checked my email and decided I was tired. I got vertical on the bed, and slept for TWO HOURS! Yikes! I must have needed the sleep, but I hate sleeping the day away.
Now I feel confused and disoriented. I better go try and focus on who I am and what I should be doing!
Man, what a storm we had this afternoon!!! I had to go to the Eye Doc and it was still going strong when I left to go. Last year when I got my glasses, they were $253....today, I put out $338!!
I slept good last night and got right up this morning. I hate when this happens to me...DANGED OLD MENEPAUSE!!! I know that's what it is...I never used to have this problem...
NAT...It's so GOOD TO SEE YOU!!! Are you watching BIG BROTHER this Summer? Get on back in here...WE MISS YOU!!
MONET...That child is big! Tell Laura to get prepared...y'all will have to buy a cow to keep him in milk!!
JACK...I'm so sorry that you had such a bad morning. How did the breakfast walk go? When you get home, fix yourself a BIG STIFF ONE!!!
FRUIT...good for you on the walking...That's the first thing on my agenda when the weather cools down some. I'd have a heat stroke if I tried it now..I hadn't seen those two pictures of LEXIE...what a sweetie! She's changed since the last pictures you sent to me. Give her a big squeeze for me!
TONI...WAY TO GO ON THE TM!! Keep it up...you're doing great!
THIN...GOOD FOR YOU on the muffins!! Glad you liked the recipe...I love it..did you add any meat?
THUNDER...If my Mom had known you had OKRA in your garden, she would have camped out at your house this summer and you would've been frying up a mess every day!
GATOR...Your menu sounds really good...funny, I didn't seen anything on there for FL STATE?????
Hope I didn't miss anyone...Oh...I got the weekend movies in the mail today.
SHILOH
SHILOH II
FINAL DESTINATION III
I'm loving this NETFLIX...so convenient! So CHEAP!!! Anyone else use their service?
BOB--Florida State is the Clown Town Cookies. We call Tallahassee "Clown Town" because they have the circus there at FSU. I got fortune cookies and took the fortunes out of them with tweezers and inserted new ones. Example: Lane Fenner says he was really out. (You have to be an old Gator fan to understand that one!) and "Burt Reynolds name to play the lead in the remake of 'Brokeback Mountain' ". And "Turf at Bobby Bowden Field destroyed by sod webworms. Experts at UF Dept. of Entomology arrive to repair devastation." And one more --non FSU-- "Cocky named the new spokesperson for Viagra." Again, you've got to be a SEC fan!
Am really tired and have worked hard all day. Have not gotten off plan. Am hungry now. Will go now and geet something to eat. Bye.
