Good Morning Ladies

Didn't get home from bunco until about midnight and DH woke me up at 5:15. So I am pretty :tired: today.

Ends up DD has dry sockets, so that is why she was in so much pain. I'm just not a tolerant person when it comes to being sick. I guess I need to work on that.

Have fish fry prep tonight. We will be adding crab legs and green beer for St Patty's Day.

We didn't make it to the gym, but got about a 2 mile walk in, about 40 minutes.

Crystal, I'm so sorry about your FIL. I'm keeping him in my prayers. I pray he does not suffer. It has to be so hard on everyone.

Gator, enjoy your trip. I'm sorry it will be cold for you. It is supposed to be 63 today and then 45 tomororw. I don't expect the Cats to go far. If they can be UAB, UConn will get them. Who knows. I've got your Gators going to the final 4. Good luck.

KayeC, I'm so glad to her DH's mole was caught in time. Men can be so hard headed. I bet he won't wait as long the next time.

Thunder:

Toni, glad to hear you are safe. Now get back on here.

Nicolee, glad to hear you are feelin better.

Thin, good job getting your walk in. I don't like to walk in the dark either.

Monet: Have a great day.

Got to run. Have a great op day.

Ellen 03-16-2006 10:40 AM

Hey everyone! I just got back from breakfast. I had a egg, cheese and bacon biscuit. My friend loved it,and I kept my mouth shut, but felt like we went to the wrong place. It was expensive, and just ok. The biscuit was not legal, but the least of the available evils on the menu.

I got a new book on knitted toys and started a sheep. I hope it turns out ok. The picture is awfully cute. The pattern is not too complicated, so I may start cranking out toys! :) I am knitting it with a fuzzy yarn that just looks so cute and is real cuddly soft.

I think it is about time for my morning nap. I can't wait until next week, when I go check out this new doctor. I am SURE my thyroid meds are wrong. I hope he will boost them up so I am not so tired all the time.

Ok, I SHOULD do replies, but I am sorry that the bed is calling me!

UMMM... BOB... I think that is too much information!:o   Just kidding! Hope your shoulder is better soon!;)

Ellen 03-16-2006 05:26 PM

BOB! What ARE we going to do with you? Feel better my friend...

Ellen 03-17-2006 08:42 AM

Good Morning! I just finished breakfast:

espresso
two egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on whole wheat
small glass OJ

I have a few very important errands to run today. I have to go to my old doctor's and get copies of my records to carry with me to my hopefully new doctor on Monday. I hope I like him, or he seems to have some ideas on how to deal with my issues. I hate looking for doctors I feel comfortable with.

I slept fairly well last night, after about 1. Not sure what woke me up then...my guess is someone was up and opening and closing doors. Often I will wake up and not know why, then one of my grown kids will say, "I came in at 2" which is when I was awakened.

Today is Friday Funnies... I am going to have to look for some to post. I did post one a few days ago...

I will be back in a bit...

nicolee 03-17-2006 09:03 AM

Sorry I've been MIA for the past few days. Truth is I'm ashamed to show my face. I've not been eating legal foods for the past few days...ever since I got my migraine I've been starting off on the wrong foot for breakfast each morning, which just puts me in a downward spiral for the rest of the day. I know if I don't stick to this plan I'll not lose any more weight and that I'll gain back the 10 pounds that I've lost.
I'll check back later when I have a few more free minutes.

ThinWithin225 03-17-2006 09:22 AM

Where is everybody? Hope everyone is in a St. Patty’s mood today!:lucky:

I had a mini-goal to hit 220 by today. I got on the scale this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see 222.5! :carrot: SO, I’m not complaining it’s so close! I seem to have finally gotten all my ducks in a row and have been having consistent weigh loss for the last few weeks. I have been eating “cleaner”, exercising more and increased my thyroid meds recently, so those probably all contribute! I am excited about it, but I do realize that eventually it will slow down and not be so easy, (I hope that is not for a long time yet though!):crossed:

I have been thinking about new goals and I think I am going to go with more of a reward system and not worry so much about how much time it takes me to get there. One of my big goals is to get back into dance. I danced for about 10 years while I was growing up, most of the time at the same school where Rachel now dances. One of the girls I went with teaches an adult ballet class and has asked me in the past to come. They do more of a lyrical style of dance and the class is made up of women my age who want the stretching and exercise as well as moms who have or had daughters who go there. They range in age from 30’s to probably 50’s. Performance in the recital is optional for this class, but I know if I could sign up for it, it would further my loss and help with tone and flexibility. So, I’m going to try to make that one of my goals. We’ll see how it goes!:^:

I’ve been trying to be fairly strict this week also because St. Patrick’s Day is a BIG day in DH family.:lucky: They are a Big Scottish/Irish family and do the whole corned beef and cabbage, mulligan stew, Irish soda bread thing, just to name a little bit! Also, Sunday is my and DH anniversary as well as Sean’s birthday and I know there will sweets involved. ;) I’m going to try to be careful with my eating and drink lots of water. Fortunately for me, I do not care for alcoholic drinks; I just don’t like the flavor!:dunno:

Ellen 03-17-2006 09:24 AM

NICOLEE: When you are struggling to get back on plan, don't hide. Coming and posting regularly really helps you get back into the swing of it. Starting the day off poorly is hard, but seriously, just determine to end the spiral before lunch, and eat legally for lunch. You CAN do it!

Solly 03-17-2006 12:12 PM

Where is everyone today? Out drinking green beer?

Did nothing last night but watch ballgames. Probably will do it all weekend too. It is supposed to be cold here again. Just when I thought Spring was close.

BOB, Now that's the best one I have ever heard. That must have been some reach!! Hope you are feeling better soon.

Nicolee, Don't be ashamed. Coming here and admitting it gets you back on track faster. We all have been there.

Thin congrats on your loss. I think the reward system is a good idea. I did it with every 10 pounds. Enjoy your St Patty's Day and Happy anniversary.

Monet, Hope you like this dr. I hate trying to find a good one. Any plans this weekend for your birthday?

Gator, congrats on round 1.

Country, how is your FIL doing?

Susan, where are you?

Have a happy St Patty's Day :irish: and a great weekend. :luck2you:

 GRRRR  Well, most of you know our woes with Derek's job. To make a long story short, the company he works for (Konica) is going out of business. The company that he works for Konica IN (Kinney's Pharmacy), fixing their one-hour photo labs, has decide to go with a company called Noritsu to service their labs. Derek was told that Noritsu doesn't want ANY of the Konica employees. Of course, he was told this by his co-worker, Brian. Brian...is the guy that doesn't leave the house to work until noon...not the least bit exaggerating here...and then will fix one or two machines and get home nice and early. He lies all the time to the customer...and to derek...about where he is and about what's wrong their machines...if he doesnt' feel like fixing something, he tells them he's ordered a part and that it'll be in in a few days...it's only March and he's already used up ALL of his sick days...he takes the day off to take his wife to the doctor or to get his oil changed. And its always a Monday or a Friday. He's had such an incredibly bad work ethic. Derek, on the other hand, is up and out by 8am at the latest...he NEVER calls in sick, except one day last week when he threw his back out draining chemistry in a storethe day before...drags himself around all over covering for Brian not doing his job properly...fixes machines that Brian has been working on for weeks in a few hours...

Anyhow...Derek just got a call from Brian that Noritsu has hired him on as a technician. Derek is SO MAD! Now, I know you guys might be thinking I'm on Derek's side just because he's my DH, but I met Derek working for a company called Qualex...which was basically the same thing as Noritsu and Konica...and I was Derek and Brian's boss's boss's secretary (their boss answered to my boss) and worked with about 20 other technicians (this is where I met Derek in the first place) and Derek has always been the hard working one that beats himself into the ground trying to get everything done. I used to do their payroll and Derek always had LOADS of overtime...and earned it! Brian was always, 'well...I'll get to it tomorrow...' Its so frustrating.

Anyhow...just had to vent over my smoothie. I had scrambled eggs that were scrambled with salsa, extra green peppers and some sausage and some cantaloupe. My smoothie has whey protien, milk, frozen blueberries, fresh strawberries and some cantaloupe. I got some fresh strawberries form Walmart yesterday for under $3...the rectangle size! :carrot:

Okay...I'm not the least bit Irish, but :luck2you:

Kris

Tech- So sorry about the dh job situation. My dh is like that as well, only he is a sales manager with Pepsi. He will stay 10-12 hrs daily if needed and even worked last Saturday because sales have been low lately. He knows of other "new hires" who are hired in making much more than him and he's been there for 12 years!

I also had to use some of these guys before it's too late! :goldpot: :patrick: :luck2you: Arent' they cute!!

CountryMom4Him 03-17-2006 02:02 PM

Good afternoon

A quick hello to let ya'll know I'm still around. Just very busy. They are still telling us that things are not good with my father in law.

Tech...hang in there. Maybe they will approach your husband next. :)

Thin...WTG getting that close to your mini goal. Fill up on the cornbeef and cabbage. :)

Bob...I didn't laugh very much. ((hugzz)) I hope you are feeling tons better today.

Monet...Praying the new doctor will work for you.

Solly...thanks for asking about my FIL. How are you doing sweet lady?

Nicolee...I've had a few bad days myself. Hang in there. Don't hide, they'll just come looking for ya. :) ((hugzz))

I'm not at the house so I gotta run.

Hope you all have a SUPER weekend.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Toni48 03-17-2006 05:02 PM

CountryMom- I'm so sorry about your FIL. I'm saying prayers for him....

ThinWithin225 03-17-2006 09:49 PM

:patrick: well, I am officially stuffed! I imagine I will have some water weight from the corned beef and cabbage, and I'm sure the cupcake and cookies won't help!:nono: ;) It was very good and I've turned down several "treats" this week in anticipation of the weekend, so it's all good!:p Tomorrow we're taking Sean and his friends to the movies and to a pizza buffet. I will try to stick more on the salad side. It is about the only place I can afford to feed my four, plus two more 14 yr. old boys! Then we'll get through birthday cake all weekend.:o I'll try to chug some water in there somewhere! We did go for a short walk before going to grandma's and will go again on Sunday if it is not raining!
