Hi Munch--We all identify with you about putting on pounds easily and struggling to get them off. Monet and I have hypothyroid problems on top of weight problems, so it is a real struggle. However, this is the first of a new year, and this is a great time to just persevere and drop some pounds by the time Christmas comes around again. Nothin' but super highway till then, eating-wise. So we can do this!! Actually, a loss of one pound is very good. Re your double post, you can click "edit" at the bottom of your post and delete one of them very easily.
Fruit--Way to go!!!
OK, everyone. When you read Muncher's post, let that remind us all that a positive attitude and a non-complaining spirit will uplift everyone around you. My MIL was a wonderful woman who NEVER complained, even though she had her share of difficulties. But her sunny smile brought joy to everyone around her. I hope I will be remembered in the same way. Let this be an encouragement to do an attitude check and think about what your actions and attitudes are saying about you. What memories will your family have when you are no longer here. Munch--you are a trooper, and your Mom must have some very good qualities about her that have rubbed off on you. I'm sorry that life has dished out junk to you all right now, and hope she will be better soon.
Country--Congratulations on the 3 pounds. That is fabulous!
Solly--Ain't meds just the pits sometimes! Don't worry about this weekly MMM, but just keep your eyes on the goal that you WILL REACH! We all have weeks that we plateau or jump up a little. Maybe next week will be a big drop for you. Or your body is "regulating" after that big loss last week.
Hi Melf--Welcome back. We missed you girl.
Monet--Yep--we could have some real fun. Painting, cooking, eating, visiting, etc. When the Gators get to Atlanta we can get together again.

Maybe this year.
Thin-I agree with Monet. Some of that cholesterol prob. is genetic from you and your husband, if you both have high cholesterol. But high cholesterol is something that is just a recent phenomenon in children. The healthier their lifestyle now, before they get off on their own, the easier they will have it as adults when they are responsible for their own health. I know that puts a lot of responsibility on you now, because as the food preparer and the food buyer and mom (the boss) you have that responsibility now of how they are eating for the most part. Diet is probably 90% of it, but the exercise is that other 10%. So, if they are eating lower fat meats, staying away from the greasy chips and fast foods, and are avoiding the trans fats that are in so many cookies and crackers and some cereals, (in many, many prepared foods, in fact), keeping away from cookies and cakes and all that processed sweet stuff, and learning to enjoy fresh fruits as a snack and eating their veggies, you will have done your job and they will be well on the way to a good test at the doctor's office. We wish you much luck and prayers, and know you all can do it.
Princess--Welcome to a very good board. Lots of info here. If someone (like me!) does not know the answer to your question, someone else will. This is a good group of people who are very supportive, and we are all like a close group of friends--even though, mostly, we have not seen each other.
Got my walk in,m and exercised with my trainer with weights. Today I go to the trainer who does the "Super Slow" and it is a ton of weight. It takes me only 20 minutes, but I can hardly walk when I finish, because my muscles have worked so hard. I am lifting 275 now with the leg press, down from about 300 about 6 months ago. I do the reps VERy VERY slowly, to a 10 count, almost barely moving the weight plate. It is HARD!!! I actually was brought to tears today on the leg press, I don't know why, something about it being almost scary and having to dig down so deep to make myself continue. It was weird. I did about 6 reps. Solly, I recommend weight lifting for you, and I hope you are doing it. I think you are, right?
I have French class tonight. I have been busy today--Went to 4 different hotels about 6 minutes from our house to get prices for out of town guests for the wedding in March. Prices from $150 to $79. Then finally found a place where I have a good selection of wedding arches for our patio for the wedding. I'll probably go tomorrow to select one. Tomorrow I get braces on my teeth!!!!

I had lunch with my DH and DS after my workout. The gym is in the building downtown where they work and so we went to a restaurant there. I had a cup of chicken gumbo with rice--spicy--and a spinach salad with tenderloin tips on it. I have been feeling a little bit punky the past week, amost dizzy but not quite. I don't know what it is, but it might have been because I wasn't eating enough. So I am trying to up the calories this week. I hope that is what the prob. is.
Well, gotta go. I've written a book and hope y'all have not minded wading through it. Have a great day.
