Monet, after I signed off here, I went to ebay again and accidently clicked on one of the pedometers listed for sale and saw that the seller was Lloydster...lol. I don't know why my earlier search came out as nothing, may because the "L" was in capital letter. Anyway, looks like a great deal to me. Is that the one you have? One more question, what do you use to pay in ebay? Paypal? I read up on it and it sounds simple but I wasn't sure if I want to use Paypal yet. Thinking about money order, which is a little troublesome.

Alright, I am really gone for good, that's until tomorrow :)

Evening all-- Today was a pretty much do nothing day. Took the cat to the vet first thing this morning for her shots. She was not a very happy camper. She is very vocal when she is upset. Even the Dr. commented about it.

The boys, (dh and youngest ds) smoked salmon today. Oh my gosh, you should have seen my little Jo dog. She is a red and white basset hound but she ended up being black all around her face and neck clear down to her front feet. She came in the house and we couldn't figure out why she was all black.....Bill had left the door open to the smoker after he took out the fish.....she was out there licking the racks where all the fish had been. So I ended up putting her in the bathtub.....it was soooo funny! Then the oldest ds joined us for some homemade WW pizza. Brant and Bill will leave in the morning to go off to three rodeo's this weekend. Hope he does well and stays in one piece!!

Dh and I are going to take a few hours tomorrow and hit the local Indian Casino for a bit. Then stop by Costco to get his meds. And that is about all we have planned for the next couple of days.

Eating has been OP today.....but seems like I was always hungry. I didn't eat any starches during the day so I could eat pizza with the boys. It was great!

B-- 1/2 c egg beaters scrambled with a bit of cheese and topped with salsa, Lite 85 yogurt.

Snack-- Apple, 6 pieces pepperoni with cheese.

L-- 3 leftover chicken strips, tomato slices, cucumber slices. 2 SF Caramel Nips.

Snack-- 1 oz peanuts.......Cherries.

D-- 3 slices WW pizza. 1 slice of SF huckleberry cheese cake.

Lunch

Jackie-- Believe me, I haven't forgotten, or forgiven......as the saying goes, "I don't get mad.....I get even." It will come when he least expects it. Ha ha.

Monet-- How nice of that company to set you a new Pedometer. That is the kind of place that makes you want to do business with them. I am always glad when dh and one of the boys take a day and go off and do their bonding too. The oldest one and dh like to hunt, so fall is their times together. Then, with Bill being gone most of the time on the boat, anytime they spend together is good.

Keng-- Believe it or not, but the more you exercise, the more you will want to. I feel really crappy if I miss mine. Which I did this morning due to taking my wild kitty cat to the vet. Gonna hit the hill in the morning though.

Fillise-- Sounds like you are having the time of your life. I would love to be there. New York, how exciting..... What a wonderful thing to do, and you raised a hefty sum of money too!! Enjoy yourself.......time enough to get back on the wagon when you get home. Just don't do like I did and prolong it.......not good!!

Gator-- I am sure that the stress has alot to do with your eating right now, and who could blame you. Praying for a safe haven for you and your family.

Tranquil-- Thanks for the update of Deb and Michael. Glad that you all had a good time. Hope that we will hear from her soon.

BOB-- Thanks for updating us. Be safe!!

Pancho-- Thank goodness you had that mole taken care of. So many times we let things go "just knowing it is nothing" or that it is "no big deal". You can rest easier now and know that you are taking all of the precautional steps. Good for you, and glad that you can now rest easier.

If I have forgotten or missed someone.....please forgive me......it is not intentional.

Good night all.

Morning! I feel a little stiff and sore this morning. James is going to Dragoncon this weekend, so he let Laura use his car. Hooray! I have to drive him to meet his friend, then I can go on to run my errands and do my volunteer work.

The house is awash with kittens. They are beginning to drive me nuts...so its about time to close them back up into their room. They want to sit on my shoulder while I am typing, or get on the bathroom counter and knock stuff around. Or they are chasing each other all over. Makes me feel tense...

TEENSY: I loved your story about your dog and the black face. Good thing she did not try and crawl into the smoker. Pets are so much fun! Well, usually. (see above)

KENG: Not sure which one of the pedometers you are looking at. The one I got was less than $10...maybe only about $7....and had free shipping. It is blue plastic and has three buttons. Lloydster is going to be a reputable company to buy from, so I would say, go ahead. I use Paypal on ebay almost exclusively. I have never had a problem, except when I got bogus emails from paypal and ebay asking me for account information to update their files. Don't ever respond to those kinds of emails. They are not legitimate.

I need to go rouse James and get some breakfast...and probably another cup of coffee.

Anyone hear from SEF? She has not posted for over a week...makes me worry about her. Where is HEARTMOM this week? Also, Melf and Rosalie....

Solly 09-03-2004 09:04 AM

Good Friday Morning.

Thank goodness it is Friday. I awoke exhausted. Even though I was in bed by 9. My stomach was killing me all day. Woke at 11 and took an Ativan to make me sleep (sleeping pill wasn't working). Stomach is better, but just exhausted today. Glad I have 3 days to rest up.

Sunday is the big college rivalry game UK vs U of L. We are going. Hope I'm up to it.

BOB, thanks for the update on Deb. Hope they are safe. Glad you are only getting strong winds and rain. What a shame about Deb's GF. Hope you have lots of movies to hold you through the storm.

Monet, look for some young, bronze adonis to be your model! Great deal on the ped. I may check it out myself. We leave on the 21st. I will have DH have a couple for you (that will be no problem) as I don't like beer. Glad you got a car. Enjoy your freedom.

Ken, I bought something off ebay once and used paypal. It is much easier.

Teensy, you go girl, you are my kind of woman. I was pretty p**sed at my DH last weekend. But I just let it wear its corse and forgot it. It just didnt seem worth the effort to argue. How funny about your dog. My DD's licks the spatula that hangs on the side of the grill.

Where are all the strays, Heart, Sef, Rosalie, Deb.

Need to attempt to get some work done. Or at leas look busy. Have a great day.

kengjw 09-03-2004 10:08 AM

Good morning...I am back!! LOL. I guess you can tell my energy and mood are both in good level...lol. DD woke up around 8.30am so I did get to sleep in a little bit. We are supposed to go check out a old house for sale for $29,000 in the next county. Need to see where the location is. I am waiting for my chicken patti (not legal) in the oven so I will try to get some replies in :

TEENSY : LOL... what a funny dog story. Did you think a second that it might not be your dog...lol. Sounds like you are having a good time with ds around which I am glad. I agree after my exercise (no matter how little I did), I always feel better. I know I don't like anything strenous, so walking seems like a good choice and swimming is of course my fav, almost effortless :)

MONET : I can imagine the chaos in your house with all the kittens everywhere..lol. We used to have a cat (stray one) who drive me nuts whenever he was in the house. He would climbed up to places that he wasn't allow to. It was so much harder to train him than my daughter...LOL. I also had to watch him with Jess as he scratched her few times and one time all over her face and hand. I know Jess might have provoked her with her "little active girl personality. Anyway, I think Jess can have fish as her pet next time until she can take care of the pet herself...lol. She said her fish name will be "goldie"...LOL. I believe that Lloydl is only selling one kind of pedometer, about 6 to 7 dollars depends if you bid on it or buy it now. Sounds like a great deal. I will definitely look into that.

Oops, dh is up, got to go..

CountryMom4Him 09-03-2004 11:09 AM

Good morning

The kiddos woke me up way too early this morning. :) But he good news is extra time to come online and catch up on things.

Monet...sorry the little kitties are being so crazy. Your painting sounds so exciting. I can't draw to save my life. Praying your recovery time is short after your operations. I bet you come through with flying colors and are back on your feet in no time. My mom and both of my sisters have had a hysterectomy...they all healed pretty quickly even my sister that has NO tolerance for pain.

Colleen...aww your puppy must have been a site. Reminds me of the time when I was sneaking some chili to my mom's shi shu...LOL His whole face turned red. It was kinda hard to deny giving him a snack.

Jack-K...praying you have a fantastic time this weekend. And that your energy level starts to pick up.

Julia...so glad you are feeling better. I use paypal and it seems to make things so much easier....and faster.

Poncho...glad you caught your mole before it became cancer and much harder to deal with.

Bob...I hope you all make it through the storm okay. Thanks for the update on Deb. I missed the post about Eli last week...did his test turn out okay?

Gator...praying for all of ya'lls safety.

Susan...I saw the parts of the speech last night. It looked like a pretty lively event. I bet you had a blast.

Toni..if you peek in you are in my thoughts and prayers.

(((Missing Ladies)))

Love,
Crystle

Melf 09-03-2004 11:49 AM

Praying for ALL you FL/East Coast gals, that this storm will continue to grow weaker & disorganized.

Pancho 09-03-2004 01:31 PM

Good Morning:

Britt had a bit of a cold this morning, but begged me to go to school. I'm not sure that she should have gone, but I obliged. She did not have a sore throat or a fever, just a stuffed up nose and sneezing. I told her teacher to call me if she didn't feel like being there. The little things that kids care so much about....she had her first spelling test today and didn't want to miss it. She also picked today for her day to eat in the cafeteria and asked all of her friends to ask their parents if they could eat in the cafeteria too. I just put a call into her teacher to check up on her, but I think they had already left for music class. If she makes it through, then I will go to the gym this afternoon before picking her up. If I have to go get her early, then I will skip the gym today.

I can't wait for the weather to change, but don't look forward to all the illnesses flying around that time of year.

Ken: Glad you had a better day yesterday. We can't get high speed dial-up where we are located (rural area), so I have to deal with my turtle-speed computer. I can't wait until they offer it out here.

BOB: Gosh; I hope Deb's GF recovers and they don't have to put him through a surgery at his age. STay out of those winds!!

Monet: Wow, what a company to do business with. I'll have to remember that if anything happens to mine again! Does yours have a cover to close, or is it exposed? I bought a generic one that just says, "talking pedometer with radio" from an independent seller; I liked my old one better. I think my sister boiught it for me from Amazon last year for Christmas.

Teensy: How cute; your pup must've been quite the site. Good luck to Brant; I hope he rides well and stays safe.

Jack-K: Enjoy your long weekend and try to get some rest. Enjoy the game on Sunday; I hope you are feeling well enough to have some fun.

Country: HOWDY!!

It's time for those missing ladies to come forward!!!! Where are you all??

I'll check in later!

ANY OATMEAL COOKIE RECIPES??? I found some oatmeal with wheat, other grains & flax in it that I am dying to try in an oatmeal cookie recipe.

Also, here's a recipe that sounds yummy:

Brown Rice Italiano:

2 cups brown rice
1 or 2 bags prewashed greens
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 large yellow pepper, chopped
3 large garlic cloves, chopped
1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, sliced (fresh would probably be fine too)
1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
1 can artichoke hearts (in brine - not oil), rinsed and drained
1/2 cup pine nuts (optional)
salt & pepper, to taste
5 small, chopped black olives - for garnish
1 tablespoon paremesan cheese

Prepare rice. Chop/prep rest of the ingredients. Once the rice is finished, place it is a large mixing bowl. Pour the olive oil and vinegar and toss. Add the remaining ingredients (except greens, olive & parmesan cheese). On a large platter, arrange the greens as a bed for the rice mixture. Arrange rice on top of greens in an attractive mound, and garnish with olives and parmesan.

I got this off my Beachbody board!
Enjoy!

Pancho 09-03-2004 01:40 PM

I only got 10,025 steps yesterday, and am only up to 3,086 today (that should increase if I get to the gym).

Gotta go!

Ellen 09-03-2004 02:36 PM

Afternoon! I just got an email from a teacher my girls had that I had gotten to be friends with...and I have not heard from her in over two years. I had emailed her about something school related, but was not sure if she would get it since it appeared that she was no longer on staff....she has moved to another school and replied. Fun! I love hearing from old friends.

My menu for today so far: yogurt with Teensy's AWESOME raspberry jam in it. Oh, my gosh does this stuff taste like heaven in yogurt! I put some oat squares in it too...they are not legal, but not too bad. For lunch, I made a pizza with the ww pocketless pita. It tasted SO good, I made another! :O Boy am I full now!

PANCHO: My pedometer is closed. It has a clock and step and calorie counter. I am not sure I know how to use the calorie feature. The steps was all I was interested in, to be honest.

JACK: I hope you feel much improved by the game time. The long weekend ought to help. You probably just need extra rest, don't you think? Your immune system is in over drive right now...bound to make you feel tired!

COUNTRY: Funny how the kids will do that. Mine have a tendency to wake me up in the middle of the night for some stupid reason and I have to try and go back to sleep!

MELF: Good to see you posting...

Ok, time for the afternoon down time. I may read some today. I haven't read for a while....or I could go draw or paint. Decisions, decisions...

Tranquil 09-03-2004 03:30 PM

Hi All:

Well, the only thing left for me to do is pack up the computer and move it into another room wrapped up and safe from anything that could possibly happen...it sits right next to my baywindow, in the den, which would be the one room to flood since it is ground level...the rest of the house is higher. Zach and I have pulled everything in and we are ready - enough water for the whole neighborhood, and food to feed us for a year...at first I was not worried, but then as the day goes on they say she is more on course for us than South Florida...you never know...

Got Scattegories, Othello, Scrabble, and a few other games to play if the lights go - and I finally found flashlights - YEAH!!!! along with a whole pack of D batteries... My Grandmother is on her way with her cat, I already have her dog...she will stay at my place as her place - well lets say I think a good huff and puff would blow it away!!!

I have triscuits, reduced fat smoked gouda, pickles, olives, and some other good stuff - figure the cheese and salt will keep the bathroom trips down if the water is out! Yes, pretty sick bathroom humor! hahaha

Hope you all have a safe and happy weekend, and for my Floridian buddies - THARRR SHEEEE BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hang in there and wishing you minimal if any damage!

Sabrina :)

Solly 09-03-2004 04:51 PM

To all the Flordia gals, be safe. Hope you don't get any damage.

Everyone else, have a great weekend.

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 09-03-2004 05:09 PM

Talked to Debbie again this morning and they are in the dark! The hurricane shutters make it pitch black in there. Eli told me that Debbie tricked him...he got up to go to the bathroom and thought it was about 3 in the morning and it was 9 a.m.!
They are just hanging! Got all the food and water that they will need. Eli is mad because they made him close the store!

JACKIE...Eli had one side that was over 99% blocked and they put a stent in there.
Two others were over 40% blocked and they have him on meds for that and will keep watch on him. He's feeling fine now, but is doing too much. Debbie had me tell him about it this morning!

OK...Here's your movie picks for the long weekend:

PRINCE AND ME!

TWISTED

BUTTERFLY EFFECT

CONNIE AND CARLA

JOHNSON FAMILY VACATION

JASPER TEXAS

ONE EYED KING

I'll check on y'all later...the rain has started in Miami, but the sun is still shining here!

Dh and I went to check out the property at the next county. <<Drum roll>> I drove all the way there. I have driven in my county and there is less traffic and I am more familiar with the roads. I wish I can tell you I enjoyed driving today but I was terrified and constantly giving myself peptalk that I can do this and I need to experience all kinds of road conditions. Dh was patient but being a man he sometimes doesn't know how to say things nicely :( Anyway, I am not taking it personally and if I am in his shoes, I will probably be tensed and terrified as his lives was in the hands of an unexperienced driver...LOL. Did I say, I was terrified?? LOL. Usually at this time, I will give up, at least that was what I did in many things I went thru in the past. However, this time it is different as there is no option, at least not in my head. Jess is definitely my biggest reason I "have" to drive as much as I want freedom to drive myself anywhere. I had given up driving twice (once back home and once with dh when he wasn't too patience with him during parking..lol) so this time I am going to hang on and face my fear head on!!! Gosh, did I just say that, I am terrified...LOL. I just have to tell you guys although we slight embarrassment, so I have someone else to accountable for and more reasons not to give up. Now I wonder, were you terrified when you first drive and who taught you how to drive? I know this is just to make myself feel better...lol.

Oh, I actually lost my appetite for lunch today after that driving experience (lol), just ate some salad and a small piece of egg and sausage casserole. Needless to say, when snack time came, I was hungry. Jess and I shared a pb and j sandwich.

Okay, now that I get that out of my head, I can get some replies in :)

JACK-K : Glad you are feeling better. Yes, get some R & R over the weekend.

COUNTRY : *waving*. I am feeling much better. Thanks . Have a great day :)

MELF : *waving* Glad to see your post today. Miss your posts.

PANCHO : Looks like nothing can stop your little energizer Britt-bunny from going to school. I am glad she enjoys going to school, that is a blessing. Hope she feels much better. WTG on your steps, very impressive!!

MONET : It is always so nice to hear from friends that you lost touch with. I am sure both of you have a lot to catch up.

TRANQUIL : Stay safe! Keep us posted!

Will check in later.

Julia

Ellen 09-03-2004 06:13 PM

Wow..I laid down to take a nap and slept HARD for over two hours! I feel kind of out of it right now, but I will hopefully wake up some eventually.

Today is Erik's birthday, so I am hoping Tom and I can go out to dinner with them. He called to see what we had planned for tonight. He woke me up, so I was not totally coherent...and of course I don't want to hurt his feelings by not having anything in mind. Of course, Laura works until after 7 tonight, and James is gone to DragonCon...the great weirdo convention held in Atlanta each year. Lots of people show up in costume..there are many Klingons, and Vulcans...pointy ears and crinkled foreheads...wookies, stormtroopers... its like Halloween for grownups. James went in a t shirt and pants. Thankfully he is not 'dressed up' like so many of the others. Erik mentioned Mexican....not what I would pick, but hey, he is the birthday tyrant and gets to pick. Hopefully, I can keep my hands out of the chips! Tom is not home yet, as he was working out. I sure wish he would hurry, cause I am beginning to feel hungry!

Tomorrow is our 28th anniversary. My time flies! If I had it to do all over again, would I? Yes, I definitely would. I will keep this one for another 28 years. He is wonderful.

Ok, that is it from me for now...will try and check in later!
