Well, I guess I am talking to myself today! :) I got the cake baked, now I have to decorate it and fix the pizza dough. I went through part of the refrigerator and threw out a bunch of stuff that had gotten pushed to the back, and spoiled. I had some homemade protein bars that had turned green! Gross!

Laura buzzed off to school, and I am stuck home without a car. I really need to clean up a bit before small group tonight, and decorate the cake too, but I am feeling supremely lazy and I really want to take a nap! I have no idea why I am so tired! I am up to 5310 steps. I just might make it to 10k!

Gonna go make the bed, then lay on it for a few...somebody wake me up at about 3:15. OK?

Afternoon...

I spent 2 hours at DMV this morning getting my written test and passed. Whewww!! One hurdle is gone. Jess chatted with lotsa people there while waiting for me. I think she made their waiting more pleasant and entertaining...lol. When we left, she said "goodbye everyone!!" and they all greeted her back..lol. She even went into the men's bathroom (the door wasn't close) and said she wanted to wash her hands. I couldn't stop her in time. She then pointed at the "men's potty" and said, "that's a potty!!"...LOL. Now, I have to incur a min of 40 hours training on the road to be able to take my driving test. I won't say I am comfortable driving but I just want to get this (license thing) over with. My driving test appointment is on middle of Nov so I have plenty of time to practice. Alright, back to SB, my menu for today :

Breakfast : Was a little nervous about my test so kind of lost my appetite too. I only had 1 medium (leftover) pancake. Water.

No snack

Lunch : Meatloaf, pasta and mixed green salad (green romaine, yellow lettuce, mixed spring, cucumber, onions, spinach, cheese and avocado).

Snack : Fruit salad and yogurt.

Dinner : Leftover meatloaf, pasta and salad.

Some replies :

PANCHO : Glad you like Slim Sweet. 1/8 tsp sounds great! Does it has a distinctive taste or just just like regular sugar?. I remember how it tasted in the soup my mom made, it sure has its own taste, not a bad one though. Hope you feel totally well today. Once in a while, I had this "cold" like system but only for few days. I just got very tired, that's about it. It wasn't cold though. I figure out they were probably allergies. Since moving to this new house with less carpets, I think that has helped a lot. As for ants, we did have ants in our old house only after 3 to 4 years of being in there. I was surprised and I used the bugs sprayed to take care some of them at the beginning and that was a bad mistake. I learnt that they actually spread out more around the house...lol. So, we just used some ants "food poison" and dh actually treated the outside perimeter and I believe the ants problem was solved then. Hope yours will be too.

JACK-K : Thanks for the restaurant recommendation in Destin. I would remember that. I know dh and I would be eating a lot of seafood since we both loves seafood and want to take advantage of that while we are in Destin. Buy one get one free sounds fabulous...LOL. Hope you feel better everyday.

TEENSY : Glad you are home safe. Wow, you are amazing, no cheats at all?? Woo Hoo!! You mean business didn't you when you mean you wanted to stay op...lol. Great job! No, have fun "smokin'" and cannin"...LOL.

TONI : Glad to hear from you. We all have problems staying op once in a while, some last longer than the other. Just don't stay away, keep posting. Perhaps, don't focus on being 100% op, just on whatever you can eat legal, praise yourself. Without SB, you might have made much worst choices than some of the choices you are making now. You can do it....just baby steps.

MONET : There is a saying that dh and I kept reminding ourselves, "Don't shop when you are hungry" and that's so true for me. I definitely spend more money when I am hungry. Is laura's car being repaired at this moment or she still doesn't know what is wrong with the car?

GATOR : Thanks for the interesting article and info on pedometer. I am planning to get one soon. Need to join the walking club :)

Well, that's it for now. Have to go check on Jess. She is not making any noise so that is no good..lol. Good day!

Julia

MONET : Are you up yet??? It is already 3.15pm...lol.

Howdy ya'll!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to pop in yesterday we went to mom's. She seems to be recovering nicely. She goes back to the doctor tomorrow so we will know for sure.

Monet..thanks for starting the board. It's such a blessing to know I can come here and read up on how every one is doing. The love and motivation really help on rough days.

Jack-K...I am so sorry you are feeling so wiped out right now. Praying your food begins to taste better and your energy level picks up.

Toni...hang in there. Just remember you diet..way of eating is all in your control. If you want to add a few things that aren't SB friendly but it works for you that is okay. Guilt over what you eat just holds you back and makes you isolate yourself from your support systems. At least that is how it worked for me. You are a vital part of this group and a blessing. Praying for you.

Julia..woo hoo on your written test!!!!!!!!! WTG

Poncho....hope you continue to feel better.

Gator...I'm so glad you had the funds to put in a few trees. When we moved in here there were none. It's the middle of a hayfield. A neighbor gave us two crepe myrtles a couple of summers ago and they are about 6 or 7 feet now. It's so exciting to have a smidgen of shade. :) We put in some tiny trees this year. It will be neat to look out there one day and have some real trees...LOL Praying all the other storms out there spare ya'll.

Colleen..awesome staying OP!

Bob..hey!!!!

Well, I gotta run. I'll try to sneak back soon.

Love,
Crystle

kengjw 08-31-2004 04:18 PM

A question for all :

What's your fav crockpot recipe? I have tried Ranch chicken, some asian ribs and pork chop and andouille sausage recipe I came up with. I need some ideas. Thanks.

COUNTRY : Glad your mom is recovering well. Have a good day :)

Julia

Whew! I'm wiped out today. My boss's wife is in the hospital so he asked me and another co-worker to come out and be a witness to their new will, etc. The walk in the hospital just to get to the elevator about killed me. Should have gotten a wheelchair. Don't know if I will make it to the grocery or not or for my walk. Will try to rest up when I get home.

Bf today was oatmeal and prunes
Lunch same as yesterday ww tortilla, beans, cheese, jalepenos.
Dinner is meatloaf, butter beans and broccoli.
Still short on water. Having trouble getting liquids down. Can do fine while eating, but between meals is hard b/c of the nasty taste in my mouth.

Gator, thanks for the link. The pics are really beautiful. I really don't think those MCD's pedometers are very good at all.

Toni, Get some sleep tonight.

Monet, WTG getting that workout in. WW pizza, yum! was just thinking about making one.

Ken, WTG passing the written test. Good luck on the rest.

Country, so glad your mom is doing well.

Have a great evening.

Ellen 08-31-2004 05:31 PM

Hey everyone! Yes I did get up by 3:15..in fact, I never got the chance to lay down at all! I got the cake done. Its cute...I bet it tastes wonderful with the banana filling...I did get my fingers in the icing. As I was licking away, I thought, "didn't you write a challenge on this, you nit wit?"

The dough for the pizza is mixing in the bread machine, and I cleaned up the kitchen a tiny bit. Time to snuggle my hubby for a few, then back to work!

Ellen 08-31-2004 05:50 PM

Monet is feeling rather p*ssy right now... the clip broke off of my pedometer! I would like to blame it on my husband, who had his arm around me on the bed and may have pulled on it as he rolled over to get off the bed. I was up to 6185 steps when it broke, so I was not doing too bad. Now I have to find another one. grrrr....

Do they make them with metal cases? Seems that would be more durable...

Solly 09-01-2004 10:08 AM

Where is everyone today??

Monet, what a bummer about your pedometer. You had better watch that hanky panky.

A little better todaym legs and arms still feel so heavy, like they weight 300 lbs.

Speaking of 300 lbs. I did WIW today. Go fgiure I have been OP all week, not eating much at meals. Never between meals, no bread (other than cereal) and I have gained 2 lbs. Don't know what to make of it.

Hope the scale is good to everyone else!

Have a great day.

fruitloupe 09-01-2004 10:32 AM

Hey y'all

I'm home from school today. I think I have a cyst on my ovary the size of my HEAD or better yet - my BUTT! I am in so much pain. I feel better if I'm sitting or lying down. So, my boss sent me home because she saw how much it hurt to stand up. It's hard to teach 1st grade from a lying down position! HA! I called the doc and they said to lay down, drink fluids and take some pain pills. Oh and they put me back on BC pills again for a couple of months to prevent the cysts.

JACK-K: Girl....don't work yourself too hard! Keep that body of yours healthy!

FLORIDA GALS: I hope y'all are boarding up because it looks like Frances may be coming your way. I don't know how much more your state can take this season!! Take care!

Well, I'm off to lay down.

Morning everyone. I am steaming mad at my dh today. We had been planning to take Bill up to Kellogg Idaho to look at some Dodge Pick-Up trucks. Ted had to work yesterday so we didn't get to go. This morning I got up and asked if we were going to take Bill today? Ted didn't know, so I let it go. I fixed breakfast for him and Bill. I don't eat until after I am done walking or doing my TBT. He made all of his call backs from his job yesterday, to the guy he works for and then the guy he did the job for. While they were eating I went back to the bedroom and started on my TBT. Ted finished eating and came back and asked if there was anything I needed from town! I said, "I thought I was going to go with you too?" His reply was "If you are going with me, I am leaving in 3 minutes......" So I said there was no way I could finish exercising and shower in 3 minutes. He said it looks like you will be staying home then. I still had 1 1/2 circuits to do plus shower and eat.......I am so mad at him!! He can get all his stuff done while I fix his breakfast and then he gets to eat.......I think he will fix his own dinner tonight!! (Not really.) I can't believe he did this......

WIW was down another pound, but I am still over my low. Being OP again, I hope it will go away quickly. Anyway, I got my exercise in for the day and here is my breakfast and what I am planning for the rest of the day.

B--1 Lender's WW bagel with 2 T peanut butter and .7 oz SF Aricot Jam, Blue Bunny Lite 85 yogurt.

Snack-- Cherries

Lunch-- leftover Pork loin chop, coleslaw (with a vinegar dressing), fresh sliced cucumber, fresh sliced tomato. 1 SF caramel Nips.

Snack-- apple

Dinner-- Chicken strips with sweet potato chips. (I am doing some deepfried gizzards for the guys.) So this will be legal stuff. I made a SF huckleberry cheesecake yesterday.....may have a slice for dessert, or I may stick with my SF pudding.

On to some replies;

Jackie-- I am sorry you are having such a hard time. The heaviness in your arms and legs, is it just a side affect from the last Chemo treatment? I know you get discouraged with the scale, but it will only get better from here on out. Each day you will get back a little more strength, and will start feeling human again. Once that happens, it is just a short way from seeing that darned old scale start it's downward swing. Hang in there, and try to make the best of it for now. ((((HUGS))))

Fruit-- The size of your head or butt?? I seriously hope you are joking!! Hope you will be feeling better soon. It can't be much fun to teach when you aren't feeling too good. Get some rest.....and take those pain pills if you need them. ((((HUGS))))

Monet-- Sorry about your pedometer. Mine is just a plastic clip and it has come apart a few times. But it just snaps back together.

Keng-- Sounds like you have been getting in quite a bit of walking, good for you!! Is this a new drivers license you are applying for? I don't envy you. I hate the thought of any kind of test. I remember when I took mine......I passed the written test to get my permit, and then took drivers ed at school. Then as soon as I was 16, my Mom took me in to take the driving test. I passed, but I was soooo nervous!! Glad I don't have to do any of that again!! Good luck to you.

Country-- Glad to hear your Mom is recovering nicely. Hope it is all good news when she goes in for her check up.

If I have missed anyone.....I apologize.

And all of you Floridian's(???) stay safe!!

kengjw 09-01-2004 03:13 PM

Good afternoon!!

Wow, it is sure quiet here. I am definitely very hormonal right now, I can feel the difference in how I feel. There isn't anything big or problematic in my life at this moment but I still feel heavy inside. Like something is pressing down on me. I got to take my focus away from that so I can enjoy my day better. I believe that TOM should be here soon.

I didn't so much today but I did go outside to take a walk...up and down my driveway again. I like this better as dd can ride her bike safely in the driveway and I don't have to give excuses about not liking to walk on the dirt road. I will walk again this evening. Jess likes our exercise routine...lol. Here's what my menu looks like today :

Breakfast : Jimmy Dean eggs and sausage breakfast casserole (yep, recipe from JD website) which is yummy! Besides eggs and sausage, there are tomatoes, green onions, mushrooms, cheese and bread cubes. I made a smaller casserole, instead of 10 eggs, I only used 5 eggs and that casserole will feed about 5 to 6 people. I will have it throughout the week but not everyday. It actually taste better the next day :)

No snack

Lunch : Leftover meatloaf, sweet potatoes souffle and microwave broccoli....lol. Today, I sure did not have mood to cook so I microwave the broccoli...lol and added leftovers to it...lol. Jess actually loves the broccoli this way.

Snack : Mixed fruits with yogurt.

Dinner : Not sure yet.

MONET : There is no better way to broke your pedometer than in the arms of the man you love...LOL. Now, you can get a better one :)

JACK-K : Sorry for the weight gain. Our body has its own mind and sometimes it is hard to figure out what is going on. Not eating enough could be an issue too. Once you feel better, I am sure you will be able to eat better and that would help :)

FRUIT : Will you be seeing your dr to verify if it is indeed a cyst? Gosh, it sounds horrible. Hope the pain is more manageable now.

Will check in later.

Julia

Ellen 09-01-2004 03:22 PM

Good Afternoon everyone! I did not get the chance to get on earlier. I slept like a log until 9. I was surprised when I woke up to see how late it was! I got up, showered, and made coffee. I had a friend coming over I thought at 10. she did not show up until 10:40... I stepped out to check on the tomatoes, and while I was out, the doctor called. I called back. My biopsy was benign, and I had polyps in my uterus, which is another reason to do the surgery. They contacted the general surgeons office, and they called me later to tell me the surgery is set for October 14 at 7:30am. I will have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am. Fun! That is only about six weeks away...so I have six weeks to get in better shape to recuperate better.

I have a massage appointment in a few minutes, so I am going to get off here and get ready. I will check in later!

kengjw 09-01-2004 03:30 PM

Teensy, you must have posted around the same time since I didn't see your post earlier. I understand your frustrated with your dh. I would be too. He better pick up something nice for you while he is in town :) Yes, that would be a new license. There was no need to drive when I was back home and it was sure cheaper to use the public transport which can get you almost anywhere. However, with that said, I did try to get a driving license when I was in Malaysia but had a really bad experience with the driving instructor. That experience really affected me but I am now ready to face my challenge...especially where I am now. You can't go anywhere without a car. Plus driving an automatic car is so much easier than a manual :) Now...I need to tackle that darn parallel parking...LOL.
