HI! I'm Nancy (Nancemeister),
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you. You all sound like you've been good friends since High School. I'm jealous, because I'm a "Newbie" as my friend Lara told me. Everyone sounds very supportive and on track.
Applause to you all, you are my mentors!

This Tuesday I will have been on SB for 2 weeks. I feel
so good, and it hasn't been difficult at all. I am so looking forward to in the near future not having to shop in the "Large Marge" department anymore. I am planning that by my wedding anniversary (in October) I will be able to proudly walk into Victorias Secret and purchase merchandise! My husband Dan is such a sweetheart he is reading the SB book, just to support me! Thank you for posting all the great recipes.

This support group is like a God send to me. Probably because I said prayers to ask God to help me lose weight. I felt hopeless. Now I know I am on my way to becoming a Goddess!

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance for any and all support. Please feel free to write me "[email protected]" :) Happy Weekend!

Nancy

Deb, glad your AC is fixed and have fun painting houses! Ha! I’ll check for the Carbolite...where do you get it in your area?

Marie, thanks for the comment on Frangi’s situation. I have to look up the pulse information (does anybody else know?) I have tried to take my pulse while running with little success. My friend has a heart rate monitor but it’s quite expensive. I usually go by my breathing...if I can do little else but concentrate on my next breath, but yet don’t feel like I’m absolutely going to die, then I’m doing well. You don’t want to push yourself too far, but you should be breathing heavily. Will get back to you with more info.

Ashley, Pete is just a DREAM. I’m so jealous! ;)

Anna, thanks to you also for your insights on Frangi. And for looking up the healthy weight range. I’m glad your daughter is HEALTHY and not just thin. If she is a size 0 –1 and weighs 110 at 5’3”, 105 at 5’7” is just plain frightening!!! That would be a natural, healthy weight for a very small percentage of women. Obviously, this subject really struck a nerve with me, maybe because I haven’t managed to completely shake the paranoia that “all men feel that way.” It makes me angry that I “have” to conform to their standards in order to be considered worthwhile, which sometimes makes me want to go in the opposite direction. I’ve really had to sit down and think sometimes: who am I doing this for? Them? or ME? And as long as I’m changing my life for ME, I’m going to be successful.

What you said about celebrities. That reminds me. I love the way the magazines praise porky rebels like Jennifer Lopez, but you will rarely see a grossly obese woman on TV. However, for men it’s okay. Like that black guy on the Today show who talks to all those people outside, I don’t know his name. But he’s at least as wide as he is tall! We have a local anchor, Robert Kekaula, who is even huger.

Well, there is Roseanne. ;) I picked up her autobiography at the used book sale because I thought she might have something worthwhile to say, but it was pure trash on the first few pages and I threw it down in disgust.

But I digress.

Nancy, welcome, friend of Lara! Well I have only been here for a month or so and I spend more time with this group of chicks than with my female friends “IRL.” (In real life, meant ironically.) We look forward to seeing you progress along with the rest of us!

:)

Okay, this has been a really tough week. After flying off my bike I didn't "feel like" working out for three days. Pissed because I always push the envelope no matter what the circumstances....no excuses and all that. I've been eating more than usual but all foods that are on my plan. I was majorly looking forward to relaxing this weekend but no such luck!

In addition, I had a business trip planned that I was REALLY looking forward to. It was a conference in Williamsburg, VA at a resort/spa, then a week in DC with my ah, boyfriend or whatever. Everything was totally planned already. He had put in for vacation and the plane tickets were booked (the host company was paying for them). I had even arranged to visit his sister in LA. Well, at the last minute, the cheesy weiners who were throwing this shindig informs us BY FAX that they are canceling the whole thing due to "compliance issues!!!!" This is major! But amazingly, I took it quite well. Of course, I'm pissed, but before, if something like this happened, I would be in tears and totally unable to cope. Now I'm like, whatever.

The boyfriend was gratifyingly bummed out when he called me and I told him the news, then he offered to pay for half of my plane ticket if I would come anyway!!! Now that, is MAJOR. I really never thought he would go that far. After all the ticket will be well over $800. So I may go in July to attend our mutual good friend's graduation.

So we are almost through the storm I think.

Tonight's dinner was pretty good. I finally made hummus! Gee that took me long enough. I found the recipe on the “food” board by doing a search. The final missing ingredient was the chopped garlic, which I had to go to Costco for a big jar of. I had a hard time doing it in the blender--had to coax it with a plastic spoon for five or ten minutes--and the canned chickpeas had a slightly...canned (surprise!) flavor, maybe because they've been sitting on my shelf for so long. Might be worth it to soak some dried chickpeas. But overall it was VERY good. Had a bit on Triscuits with sun-dried tomatoes for an "appetizer" and a Boca burger on ww bread with cheese and picante sauce (which I've started to use instead of ketchup on burgers and eggs) very filling and yummy. Really wanted something sweet so I made up some weak lemonade with Splenda.

Then this morning, trying to figure out how to have my cream of wheat I accidentally bought at the health food store, I thought of mixing in a spoonful of almond butter and a handful of wheat bran. I don’t know how “kosher” that was but it tasted AWESOME with a small spoonful of “spreadable fruit.”

Gotta go to work. Really dragging my feet because I was looking forward to vegging this weekend. Well, I’m not complaining about the extra $250 a month I’m making for doing bookkeeping so better truck it on over there.

Love,

Chris

I LOVE THE WEEKENDS!!!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Had to get up early this morning and head out to Tutor Training. What a great class and a great group of people. I feel so lucky to get to meet with people like them. They were all so excited and ready to get out there and start tutoring. The potential is mind-boggling!!! BTW . . . the treats I buy for the class are now a non-issue with me. I am amazed that I don’t even want to consider eating any of it. When I’m successful with something like that kind of temptation, I get so pumped up.

ROSALIE---Thanks for the info about the scales. I will definitely NOT get a digital one. Although it’s hard to see those little marks on the dial. This morning I weighed in at 171, so obviously if it’s off it isn’t off by much. Yes, I am continuing with the yoga. I find the am tape much easier than the pm. She goes into more difficult poses and in the am Rodney is just helping us get our bodies warmed up. I sure do hope you can get them at your library and try them. I'm anxious to hear what you think of them. I borrowed a couple of yoga books from the library. Just trying to get some extra help. The classes are GREAT!!! He is really helping me understand a lot more than with the tapes. He also gives really great practical advice on making things easier. So I am really glad that I signed up for the classes. Last week was intense, but still felt great. I think there are two more sessions in this round of classes and then we start all over again. I am ready to catch up on the stuff I missed since I started midway through the course. RE: the movie last nightI had rented Secrets and Lies from the library. Then got it home and realized that I already saw it. But it’s so good, I watched it again. The performances are wonderful. Hey I just read about your upcoming trip. That is SOOOOO wonderful. Wish I was going with you. I LOVE it over there. Only been once but still would go back in a heartbeat. I think my favorite place was Bath as far as pure beauty goes. But then really enjoyed a wonderful little place called Thirsk. It’s up near York and it’s the town where the real-life James Herriott lived. I was lucky enough to get there on a day when he was meeting visitors and met him and got some great pictures. I’ve always been a great fan of his writings and those wonderful stories. Where will you be during your trip back?

DEB---Thanks to you too for the info on scales. I’m glad to get some brand names. And since you and Marie voted thumbs down for digital, I shall definitely resist the urge to buy one. I’m going to give the one I have a couple more days of chances and see what happens. Hey, did you send those pictures yet??? Just keep watching for them in the mail. Way to go on the community service outing today. How cool that the whole fam got into it together. That is awesome!!! Hope you don’t get “painter’s shoulder” tomorrow. It sucks!

OVERCOME---Sounds like a wonderful party you are having. The menu is great. Wow, you two have really been working your tails off getting ready for this one. Hope it goes off without a hitch. Right now I am ready the newest Ursula Hegi book. I can’t remember the title. But I LOVE her writing. She also wrote Stones from the River which is like in my top 5 best bookreads of all times!!!! It’s not “pick me up” everybody’s happy stuff, but so very interesting. She’s the kind of writer who draws you in on page one and keeps a tight hold of you until way AFTER you have finished the book. I was so excited when this one came through our office (we get free books from one of the local newspapers) that I almost started hyperventilating!!! Anyways, haven’t read any of Jan Karon’s stuff. But I will definitely put her on my list for the next trip to the library. Thanks for the new author name. I’m always looking for new people to get hooked on.

NANCE---Welcome to the board. Glad to know we have gained another “sister” and that you are eager to keep up this woe. Glad to hear that you are feeling good. This really is a great eating plan and easy to follow. Make sure you post a lot with all your questions, comments, and whatever. We are here to help you succeed. Did you post a bio??? One more questions . . . are you exercising? If so, what????

Well, I just remembered I am still in need of the purple ribbon for the bubble bottles. So I’d better head on out. Paul is sitting in front of his computer sound asleep. Wish I had a camera . . . it’s so cute. Have a great day. I’ll check in later.
Take care.

Debelli 04-28-2001 07:10 PM

Evening All:wave:

Just woke up from a in and out nap that instead of waking me up refreshed, woke up wanting more sleep. :dz:

NO KIDS TONIGHT! Michael is doing another community service stint at the Fountainbleu Hotel for the Epilepsy Foundation, I think (can't remember for sure). Supposedly a $200 & $300 plate dinner with auction and he's going to help in the auction area I believe-he won't be home til about 1am-hey, I'm glad I got that nap in now when I think about it! Lauren went to sleep at my Mom's house. Eli is in the backyard watering the plants a bit. I don't think we are going to do much else except make dinner-a quite night at home:)

NANCE, WELCOME TO THE BOARD! and thanks for the nice e-mail:) We're glad Lara gave us a nice word and were even more glad you decided to join her and us on the board. Thanks for posting your BIO on the BIO BOARD so the gals can learn more about you. Trust me, a few days on the board and you'll feel like you've been on here forever-everyone on the board is supportive and friendly, whether you are a newbie or an oldie. That's wonderful that you are feeling good and liking your new WOE, it just gets easier as time goes on! Dan sounds like a wonderful guy and very supportive of you-I guess he can't wait to take you shopping in Victoria's Secrets in October!!!! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions. We're more than happy to help in any way. You are so lucky to have Lara as a support locally, just think of us as your world wide support on top of that! Again, WELCOME!!

SPARKLE, mostly it seems the only ones who carry the Carbolite are places that deal with Atkins products, or diet stores-it really is delicious! Too delicious. My favorite flavour is probably coconut, or maybe vanilla, oh darn, I think I like just about all of them, except Creamsicle, which I haven't even given the chance and tried, I may like that one as well:rolleyes: Get that food processor, the hummus is easy to make in there. I use Hanover brand chickpeas from the can, I never have a tinny taste:confused: Making the beans from scratch isn't hard, but it's easier for me to open a can and have it ready in 3 minutes.

QUILTER, you SHOULD be pumped up about not being tempted by those treats for the class-that's a major hurdle won! I truly believe when you detox the sugars totally out of your body this is what makes you not crave the goodies. I haven't sent the pictures yet, I'm such a procrastinator! I PROMISE to get them out this week!!!! Won't be getting painter's shoulder, I painted the short peoples area:)

I hear Eli tinkering in the kitchen, better go see what he's up to. I'll check in with you either later tonight or tomorrow after my morning walk.

Have a great evening!

Hello Everyone

I am exhausted and getting ready for bed. It is 9.00 oclock in the evening on a Saturday night. I am such a Party Girl.

We moved some of my moms things to her trailer. The lot needs some love and attention.

I finally got mad at the grubs who are destroying the lawn. I made my family go to my favorite landscape place so I could hunt around for the perfect slate rock stones for my new pathway I figured I needed. I found them then came home and dug the path. It is in a high traffic area that the grubs seem to like. I still need a few more. It looks really good. I am a little sore though. Oh well it is good exercise and it looks great.

Nancy welcome to the board. I have only been here 10 days. Everyone is really supportive.

Quilter I hope that you are really enjoying your Yoga.

Deb thanks for your support. I will get that recipe and put it one the board.

EVeryone else have a great day. You all seem to be doing well and keeping with the program

Have a great evening

Melf 04-28-2001 09:17 PM

Good Evening ya'll

Hope all of you are enjoying the week-end. It's my week-end to work, but I got a break today as I only had to do 8 hrs, but it's back to a 12 tomorrow. Don't get another day off till Friday. OMG!

KAREN, Thanks for sharing your" worst dieting experience" with me. Very interesting that it takes 2-3 days for it to show up on the scale. I'm really not sure what caused the gain except that it seemed to have been water gain since it came right back off. I'm just hoping it doesn't happen again. LOL

Debbie, Thanks for your suggestion about the email I sent ya...I think that's what I'll do. Hope you'll got alot done at your Christmas in April painting session. That sounds like a really worthy cause. They do that in the larger cities here in LA too. Hope you & Eli enjoy your quiet evening alone. It's always good to spend some quiet together time without the kids  DH & I don't have any kids at home, so it's always quiet together time here

ROSALIE, Sounds like you will be leaving for your trip while DH & I are on vacation in FLA. We leave here the May 31st & return June 8th. I can't wait. That means 5 weeks from today we will be arriving in New Smyrna Beach for some R&R. I am sooooo ready. Don't work too hard. Hope you get your batminton game in on Monday.

BEACHFAN, My motivation was initially to be lighter on my feet, as I am a nurse & do alot of standing, walking, etc. I started this WOE when I got out of the hospital with my second battle with leg pain from thrombophelbitis. Now, it's overall health concern as I have a history of tachycardia, hypertension, high cholesterol, and strong family history of diabetes & cancer. I am now the age that my father died. I want to be healthy enough to retire from work one day & enjoy my grandchildren. I know this is alot, but I don't plan to just loss weight, I plan to STAY healthy with this WOE.

Nancemeister, Welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you too. Wish you lots of happy posting & enjoyable reading, but most of all, lots of success with this WOE. You have made a wise choice. Stick with us & Happy Losing!! :)

OVERCOME, Your menu sounds wonderful for the party. Hope all went well. Your DH sure put alot of work into it! You are really blest with such a good cook as a hubby.

SPARKLESCAMP, Bummer about your trip being canceled, but glad to hear that you're taking it ok. Hope that wasn't a picture of you licking that cake at the end of your post... :nono:

QUILTER/Kim,Sounds like you do alot of reading. I wish I had more free time to do some of the things I enjoy, like reading, crocheting/knitting. But work comes first around here, then I find myself spending most of my free time right here...LOL I'm not complaining, mind you, cause I do love reading all about each & everyone on this board.

Ok, I'm gone rest for tomorrow. See ya'll

beachfan37 04-28-2001 09:32 PM

Big Orange: I didn't read your post where you said you were bummed over gaining some weight while quitting smoking. Don't be bummed and here's the KICK IN THE PANTS YOU ASKED FOR! GIRL YOU ARE GREAT AND QUITTING SMOKING WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU COULD DO. My parents both smoked and are dead from cancer. My secretary is battling colon cancer that has spread to her liver. There is nothing worse than cigarettes. We also just lost our accounting clerk to emphysema. Her lungs just quit after years of smoking.
You will quickly lose the weight. After I have gained some I always lose that amount and more very quickly when I get back on track.

Sparkle: You said you worried that all men think that women should be extremely thin. Well I can tell you that from my experience they really like a little meat on the bones. My hubby has complained about my bones sticking out. I've also heard other men say the same thing about some of my friends who have lost weight. I think the extremely thin image is other women and the show biz people. Most men are not like your friends boyfriend.

Nancy: Welcome. We all become friends very quickly. This WOE is great and you will lose weight.

Debbie: I think that I started this WOE because I saw it as something I could do too. I've honestly never been hungry eating on this WOE. I also saw a steady loss until I hit goal and now it is a struggle to get lower. I think that the struggle may mean I am right around the point of weight I should be. You also may find that you are right around the point you should be. You will get to goal but I think the fluctuation will occur and we shouldn't get upset about it.

Well guys my son's baseball team won again. They are undefeated right now. I'm a little worried that they are in for a big let down.

Well I'm gonna run. See ya'll tomorrow.

Melf and Gardengirl: We were all posting at the same time!

Melf: Your motivation is great. I also want to be healthy and not thin:) (Of course I do like the way my clothes fit now:) )

Gardengirl: Tomorrow is my day in the yard. I need pinestraw, a pathway like you and just some nice annuals.

Rosalie 04-28-2001 10:37 PM

Good evening all :)

It's been a beautiful sunny day here. Feels like summer is on its way. I was out most of the afternnon around shopping malls. Did quite a bit of walking while there. I wonder if that can count as my exercise for the day. I was thinking of going out for a walk after supper but I sat down here to read some e-mails and now it's getting dark and I don't like to be out walking after dark. That's my excuse for to-day. If I don't get anything else done this evening I will DEFINITELY do one of my exercise videos first thing in the morning. That's a promise to myself.

Debbie - Hope you don't get sore in the morning from all that painting. At least it is a different kind of exercise!

Overcome - I am sure your party will be a success. Sounds like you have lots of yummy food. Pete must be a wonderful cook, you are so lucky.

Beachfan - It sounds like you live in a beautiful area. My motivation to be on this woe: I started this woe at the suggestion of my son who told me about some people he worked with who had lost a lot of weight following Montignac's diet. I decided to give it a try and was pleased with the results after I lost 10 pounds in the first 4-6 weeks. I stalled after that for several months before I started losing again but I continued with the woe as I felt so much better eating this way and was determined not to regain what I had lost.

Frog - I've read a couple of Bill Bryson's books and really enjoyed them. The first one I read was "Notes from a Small Island" about his travels around Britain. That was quite funny as was the one about his hike in the Appalachians. I have the one about Australia called "In a Sunburned Country" but I haven't finished it yet. I was off reading for a while and am just getting into it again.

Nancy - Hi and welcome. I'm glad you have decided to join us and look forward to getting to know you.

Chris - I too have tried to take my pulse while exercising but it is impossible. I have to stand still to take it. Anyway when I am doing the 2 mile walk video I'm usually breathing heavily during parts of it. So regardless of the pulse I probably wouldn't be doing any more. As you say there's no point in pushing too far. That's a real bummer that your trip was cancelled when you were so looking forward to it. I tried putting chickpeas in the blender once to make falafels. What a mess. I think it ended up in the garbage.

Quilter - When I go on my trip I will be staying part of the time with my brother who lives in Slough, Berkshire which is just outside London and is about 20 minutes drive from Heathrow airport. My other brother's family (he died a couple of years ago) live in south London and I will be spending part of the time there. I too like Bath. I visited there the last time I was in UK a few years ago. I was with a girl friend who was also there visiting her family and we took a bus trip to Bath and stayed overnight. While there we went on a bus tour around the Cotswolds which is very beautiful country. I may take a bus tour again but visit the north country this time. Lucky you to meet James Herriott. I loved his books, I think I have read all of them. I also used to like the TV show based on his books. Have you seen them? They were on years ago but they still show them periodically. I've read a couple of Ursula Hegi's books - "Stones from the River" and "Vision of Emma Blau". I enjoyed them both. What's the name of the new one? Have you read any of P.D.James? I've just bought the new P.D. James "Death in Holy Orders" which I haven't started yet as I am still reading "Potato Factory" by Bryce Courtney. I have enough to keep me busy for a while.

Well I have a pile of dishes in the sink so I think I had better go and do them so I can get on with some reading.

Bye

Marie.

Rosalie 04-28-2001 11:06 PM

Hi again

Almost every time I post a few more posts appear after my post shows up even though I often click on refresh before posting. Does anyone else have this problem?

Melf - It sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you. Only five weeks to your holiday which means 6 weeks before I leave. I'm sure that time will fly by. I'm trying to resist buying any new clothes before I go away because 1 - I MIGHT go down a size during the next 6 weeks and 2 - I want to do some shopping while I am away. But it is hard to resist when I see all the nice things in the stores. I expect to get to badminton on Monday. I am planning on saying NO if I get a call asking me to work that day. (The trouble is though if they call and wake me up about 5.30 a.m. I might say yes before I realise what day it is.)

Nite.

Marie

Debelli 04-29-2001 12:36 AM

It's late, but I have to stay up so I can go get Michael from school, and they're running a bit late, and won't be there probably until after 1am:eek: Bad for me to be up like this, so late, I'm hungry and want to eat SOMETHING, whereas I should be sleeping! Oh well!

GARDEN, it seems you got quite a bit accomplished today and worked on some of those calories while you were at it. Hope you got a good nights rest:)

MELF, yes, it was a nice quite evening at home. Eli made dinner, which was incredibly yummy. Usually in the summer we don't have any kids home for 8 weeks, not this year though-Michael is going to summer school and Lauren has no idea what she wants to do-there goes our 8 weeks of a clean and quite house this year. Hope you don't have to work too hard this weekend. Do you get in your walking even when you work these 12 hour shifts??

BEACH, thanks again for those words, but boy, I sure do hope my body isn't happy at this weight-I'm not, so this would surely be a struggle of mind vs body. I'm hopeful though, that the scale will go down, but I may have to be more patient than I anticipated! Glad to hear your son won his game!!!

ROSALIE, any walking you do, no matter where, is counted as exercise! Shopping is an important exercise in itself!

Well, I guess I will sign off for now-

Nite Nite!

Debbie

Saturday Night

Boy, seems like everyone's life is so busy! Although last night a binged on pizza topping (I scraped it off 3 slices of pizza and shoved it in a pita), sf ice cream and pb... today brought sanity. A great deal of which I can thank Nancy for as she's been so supportive. Today was much better, although I'm not totally back on schedule, and found snacking a necessity as my hunger could not subside, it was a much healthier day. The scale went back up to 160lbs. which is what I was before the surgery and such, I honestly didn't expect the 4lbs I lost to stay off. Now back on track, it's time to head for home plate - 10lbs and counting....I want to buy a bathing suit and summer clothes, it's been such a long time since I bought a bathing suit that I didn't feel like I looked horrible in. My wonderful husband even went to Costco today to make sure I have plenty of salads and other healthy food

I tried to take a few notes as I caught up on each and every one of your lives. I truly enjoy the friendship each and everyone of you share.

BOB: Congratulations on almost 1 month smoke free! This is a major accomplishment and as for the weight gain, it will come off. We will be here to help you get back on track...as I too have found, this group really steers you back on the right road. (Thanks gang!)

happywisdom and Nancemeister: Welcome to the board!

Solshine: I can't get your motivators out of my mind! In fact, I've been trying to develop my own. Thanks.

Fillise: I'm so thrilled for you, I've already shared your news to inspire another!

RodeoMom: 10lbs in 4 weeks, you go girl! Congratulations at your 1 month mark.

StarChaser: Missed you, welcome back.

Sparklescamp: Sounds like you had a really rough week, hope your weekend is bringing you some well deserved relaxation and healing.

beachfan37: 86lbs lost and maintaining, how you inspire me!

I'm recalling party planning, a birthday for loved one, and baseball games, just remember it's not about going without, it's about planning ahead, making sure you are not starving when you enter a party or event, and making the best choices out of what's available.

Good night to all.

Hello Dear Friends,

I've missed you guys. Always fun to get away, but it's twice as good to be home.

I had a wonderful visit in Birmingham. I really like that town for some reason. Of course it's not home, but if I had to live there I wouldn't mind it. I love the shopping there. Baton Rouge is rather limited when it comes to retail! So I burn a whole in my plastic and went wild.

Then it was on to Jackson, MS for three days. This was the whole purpose of the trip. I had a ministry conference there and I talked my boss into 3 extra days to "swing by Birmingham". He's agreeable! Met up with some friends "in the business" there and we had a blast! Very productive conference, but also very relaxing. I came away refreshed and with a new sense of purpose for the work I do in the ministry. I never want it to be about me! It's all for the glory of God!

I did find out it can be difficult to eat right when traveling. I left unprepared and that was mistake No. 1. But all in all, if I had to give myself a grade I would say I made a B- (with a curve). I'm disappointed in a few things I did or didn't do (not drinking my water daily) But it's a new week dawning and I'll be back in the saddle again!

I missed you guys and I hope everyone missed me!!! Okay, okay, I'm a needy person, I'll admit it. Blame it on my parents, I'm an only child!!!

Seriously, I do better when I have daily contact with this board. Everyone is such an inspiration and a joy to be around. And I did take my card with each of your names on it to start my daily devotion in prayer for each one of you.

Soooooo, on to a new week.

Blessings,
StarChaser

The Quilter 04-29-2001 09:37 AM

Morning everyone!!! It’s a beautiful day here in Cincinnati. This has been a great weekend.

Quick update: Remember the woman I told you that I met who had lost over a hundred pounds. Well, I saw her again yesterday and had another great conversation with her. She is so wonderful. She gave me a couple of tips that really helped her withthe exercise thing and getting into a groove on it. She said that she would buy herself something really cute to wear for exercising and that wanting to wear it would make her get out there and exercise. Also she said that I should be absolutely okay with three times a week right now. She said that once I find the exercise that’s right for me, and keep doing it, I won’t be satisfied with just three days a week and will want to do it more. Anyways, as a crowining glory to her and her efforts, she told me that next weekend she is running in Indy in the half marathon there. WOW!!! She said this is her NINTH half marathon!!!! DOUBLE TRIPLE WOW!!!! Anyways, she totally agrees with the idea of doing this exercise as a health maintenance issue. She says you really have to love yourself from the inside out. I wish you all could see the smile on her face. She is so happy. She has so much energy. I told her abou sharing her story with all of you. She said, “keep it up!!!” to all of you. The weird thing is she was supposed to take this class in May and if that would have happened, I wouldn’t have met her because I’m not teaching the May class. SEems to me there was some “higher power” work going on with this one!!! Anyways, sorry to go on so long, but just had to share!!!

Here’s a quickie to ROSALIE (Sorry everyone else, but this great weather is pulling me outside!)---The Hegi book I am reading is Visions of Emma Blau. I thought it was new since we usually get brand new books in our office. Sorry to get your hopes up that there was going to be something new from her. Glad to know you like her as well. Don’t you think her books are so powerful. I like PD James also. Haven’t read any of hers for a while. Yes, I loved the old All Creatures tv series. Have seen each episode probably 3 times. They were so good. I still have the Christmas special movie they did on video. I just can’t think of getting rid of it . . . such a classic.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Take care!

THANKS!!!

Hi To All,
I am sorry that after all the nice words of encouragement I haven't posted before now. The end of the year is very busy, and unfortunately I have over-extended myself with outside projects-so I am swamped with work!!! I do feel better about things, and hope to be able to report some good news very soon!
Congrats on all of your accomplishments this week, whether it be personal, or by your children, or other family members. You are all such an inspiration to the rest of us.
I am going to try to plan a menu for this week. That way I will know ahead of time what I am eating, and will have control of the food that I eat. I am also going to try to visit this forum every day. That way I will be able to stay motivated, and hopefully, be able to contribute something...even if it's just a recipe.
I hope all of you enjoy your Sunday...In New Orleans the weather is so beautiful...sunny, with tropical breezes...I hope to spend some time outside today.
