Default Beginning...

I decided a month or so ago to begin doing SB but I never did , I even signed in for the board. I have been working on my overeating through another thread but my doctor is right I need to get on SB and stay on SB. I did it once before for a very short time and I did feel better. I have fibromyalgia and it supposedly helps with the flares, I don't doubt it cuz Atkins did help but I just would not stay with it. I woke up this morning realizing that "I have" to do something about my weight and about how I feel other than be angry that I have FMS. This is an act of self-love not deprivation. I also am going to ask them to change my meds to something that does not have a weight gain side effect.

I have the book and will be rereading it and am thinking about just following their suggested eating plan for fourteen days.

Just for my curiosity, did you guys lose weight pretty good on this or is it slower? I just want to know what to expect. As you know with Atkins it is pretty rapid at first. Thanks for your time guys and I look forward to getting to post and learning more about eating healthy for me. Finished my tea and had 1/2 grapefruit so now off to have some oatmeal.

Talking Nice to meet you

Hi Bunna!

I just started yesterday. I have FMS too and it's a big reason I'm doing this. I know that getting some of this fat off of these already aching joints and muscles has got to help

I'm just plain old scared to be carrying this excess weight anymore. You're right...it is an act of "self-love" to do this for ourselves. I'd be happy to encourage you here.

I almost couldn't stand the thought of doing another diet...but I've never tried anything but cutting fats and calories. Apparently, that doesn't work for me. It's time to try something different. After reading the SB book, I thought this sounds like something I could live with.

Looking forward to getting to know you better

Thanks Coolflowers, so where does that name come from. You love flowers or only cool flowers or is that a nickname? Bunna has to do with one of my favorite dogs who passed away a few years ago. She was my baby so it felt natural to go with Bunnababy. Are you going to join in the weekly thread, they get quite chatty over there.

Wink :)

I love flowers and around my house we are constantly laughing at the kids saying "cool" all the time, so hence the name

Yes, I'll probably join the chat after I feel my way around here a bit! I'm still reading a lot everytime I come in here. I can't stay on the computer too long at a time cause I broke my tailbone a couple months ago and it's still painful to sit to long LOL. That kind of curtails my chatting right now

Hey, this is my 3rd day and I'm down from 202.5 to 198!!! The last diet I did...it took me 2 weeks to do that! I've not been hungry once and aside from feeling a bit grumpy and out of sorts with the carb withdrawal, I'm doing ok. I think maybe I can stick to this!

Oh, I'm a dog lover too. What kind of dog was Bunna and how old was she when she died?

Congratulations on losing some already.

I actually got shaky yesterday and I never did that on Atkins, wonder what the different was. At any rate still feeling headachy this a.m. but I know this will pass. Hope your tailbone feels better real soon that is so painful and such a nuisance besides.

Bunna was a bull terrier. I always called her my soulmate cuz she so totally understood me. She brought much joy to my life for many years.
