Good Afternoon Fellow SB's! It is good to hear the ones that weren't feeling so well are getting better! And it is good to see the ones who have been missing back!
CountryMom4Him~~~I am glad you finally got that tooth out and I know you are too. How is your your Aunt doing? I thought of you today and your garden when I bought pumpkin seeds to try once again to grow Emily a pumpkin for Halloween! We have a "postage stamp" size garden which we only have tilled up half way! We have to get that done tomorrow I hope!
155~~~~It was good to hear you could let one of your jobs go. I too have worked 2 and 3 jobs and it is HARD! Hope your throat is better today as well. And congratulations on losing 4 pounds!
TechMom~~~I have trouble with breakfast meals too! I guess it is b/c I don't like breakfast much! I think I am going to make some bran muffins and try them for a while.
Gym~~~Hope things go better for you this week on the weight!
Best get gong here, I have supper to cook. Peggy

Crystal, glad the tooth came out fine. Dentists are not my favorite thing to do. How is your aunt doing?

Gym, weekends are so hard. Got to keep something in focus to help you through it, You realize this is saying do as I say not as I do talking. I'm right there with you.

155, you are doing so great and I love your attitude. You will succeed, I know it. Congrats on the wt loss. I don't see how you did 3 jobs to start with. I know that is a relief.

Tech, glad the shop is picking up. I hope Derrick gets home soon. Don't feel bad about having the shop now. I thought you adjusted your hours to be home when the kids got home?

Heartmom, Hope you have a wonderful birthday. Praying that Boogies appt turns out great.

Peggy, hope you are having a great day.

Chris,

Toni, where are you? Is Steve home yet?

Monet, are you busy throwing?

Bob, where are you?

Had a busy weekend. We shoveled mulch all day Saturday and finally finished our landscaping bricks. SUnday I cleaned house all day. I am happy to report the scale is finally moving down. Today I was under (just barely) the 180. I needed the motivation and am trying really hard to be on track. We have been walking at night so I am sure that has helped. I have not been back to the gym in awhile. It is too pretty to be stuck inside.
Got to run to a meeting. Hope to check in tomorrow. Have a great day.

Morning! I have been MIA again. I am working on a project I am really into, and not doing much else with my free time other than thinking it through.

Yesterday my potter friend came to visit and we went to lunch and the pottery supply place near here. It was good to see her and catch up. I have not gone to north Georgia to see her in over five months, and only saw her briefly in February. I am going up there Tuesday to work and visit, so I am looking forward to that.

We ate lunch at a little bistro in the old downtown area of the 'burb near the pottery supply place. I got a hamburger, and they served it on whole wheat. I liked that they did not automatically add french fries, or chips. They were extra. Too bad more restaurants don't do it that way. Maybe more people would skip them.

Today I must throw some larger bowls for the project I mentioned above. Then my calligrapher friend is coming over to work with me on the project putting some Bible verses on the bowls. This is a commission for the church....

And the big news is that Tom opened the pool! The water is REALLY cold right now, and I have not been able to get all the way in it yet, but he put some solar stuff in last night that is supposed to help warm it up. Yay! I am looking forward to being able to swim here instead of driving 20 minutes to the gym.

I also must glaze today, and fire some stuff. I will check back in later if I can!

Yea! I think I have the ticker going now! I went to the dr's office today to have a nerve conduction test on my legs...that thing was OUCHY! My nerve conduction must be fine b/c my legs were jumping all over that table! Made me think of people talking about frying frog legs in a hot skillet and how they can jump. How is that for a mental image? LOL Bad thing was my weight! I am up 4 pounds on the digital scale. Arrrrrgh! Time to get things together here! Solly~~I think I printed a recipe you posted a few yrs back yesterday and I know I printed some of Bob's...where is she anyway? Hope you all have a great day. ~Peggy

Afternoon Ladies,
Exactly how do you get the tracker and the cute little happy faces, etc.
I'm a graphic designer but I'm Mac based.
Peggy - Must be doctor week, now that I'm getting close to the big 50 my doctor has decided to send me to a doctor about having a colonscopy. Yuck!!!!
That's where I'll be in about an hour.
Hi to everyone, Heartmom (happy belated birthday), Ellen, Solly, GymRat.
Hope you all have sunshine in your worlds today.

Thanks Gym. I think I have it now...we will know when I post and it either appears or not! I am not good with things like this and what works for others seems to never work for me! But I think i have it. See if you can help 155 with it also? I don't want to confuse her since I am not sure what I am doing myself!
155~~~yep, when you hit 50 doc's want to do everything but slice and dice you! The test you mentioned is not too bad, they have improved greatly in the past 10 years when I had my first. I could not believe it was over when I did the second one last year...they have improved THAT much! Please know how important this test is...2 yrs ago my ex husband died at 55 from colon cancer. It brings you such peace of mind it is well worth the temp discomfort. I have asked Gym to give you a hand on the weight tracker thing, she knows more about it than I do. ~Peggy

Ooh Peggy, I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. He was so young. This is such a preventable cancer and I still can't believe how many people just won't get it done.. I'm going for mine May 1st. I'm only 46, but my doctor believes in early detection. I'll let you know how healthy I am on May 2nd.

Take care.

I hear you Peggy, there is a history of colon cancer in my family so I think staying on top on it is a good idea for peace of mind.
Sorry about your ex-husband. 55 is way too young. My sister-in-law who I have know since Grade 6 just passed away at the end of March from lung cancer. Lord, it's a horrible disease. She was just 50.
My test is scheduled for May 30, friday morning so I have the weekend if I do have any discomfort. Small price to pay.
Really feeling good about giving up the waitress/bartender job. Can't wait for this weekend's shifts to be over so I'll have weekends to myself again.
Night all
Talk to you in the am

Hi All...I am new to this site and to Sugar Busters! I had a few questions about some food items and am hoping you might have the answers.. I know that the sugar has to be less than 3gm per serving to be "legal." What if something has tiny amount of honey or other sweetener in the ingredients but is only 1gm of sugar per serving? Would that still be okay?
Also are the following foods "legal?" for SB?
Spelt pasta
wheat germ
Isomalt (sweetener)
Rice noodles
Soba(buckwheat) japanese noodles

I have to say that getting the sugar out of my system was really tough..took about a week, before I felt 'normal' again! But, I am surprised at how strong my willpower has been , especially since I still keep some sweets in my home for my kiddos. Thanks in advance for any help!
Ashley;-)
