BOB,
grilled chicken on the barbie, sounds wonderful.

I have to do my grilling on a george foreman, scared to light a BBQ.
Long time ago when I worked as a well tester (oil rigs) I was burnt by a flame from the flare pit that shot back down the line. That was 30 years ago and I still can't stand that little "poof" sound that happens when the fire ignites.

Crazy the things that change you. :-)

Welcome TNT,
I just recently joined this group and they have been wonderful. You'll like it here. Once you get what you need in your pantry, it's so nice to just go in grab some items and make a meal without counting calories, or points, or carbs, etc.
It's very freeing.

Default Howdy

Sorry I've been MIA the last couple of days. My goofy tooth is rotten down to the nerve so I've been a little down with the pain. I did get in a walk yesterday though. Oh and that great weight loss I thought I had last week...NOT..the scales were messed up..LOL I'm right about 172. Oh well, when I thought it was lower I was walking a little prouder for a couple of days. Isn't that silly, but it made me feel smaller.

Congratulations to this week's loser's!! And congratulations to those who keep on trying...((hugzz))

Welcome TNT!!!!! I use splenda. The packets are not the same as the one that measures like sugar. I prefer the packets.

((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Hey Everyone,

Long busy couple of days.

I had a greek salad for dinner, the best 7 bucks I have spent all week. HAHA I also made my own cheese cake and chocolate puddings and added raspberries and made little single serving cups. Would be great cept I ate 2 after I made them.. LOL Oh well could always be worse. I need to brush, shower and hop into bed. I have 20 pages left to finish the book I am reading.

I'll have more time tomorrow to do replys..But crystal..when i had been 173 for the 2 days I walked very porud as well..no worries the weight will go away.

And I am another avid splends used here as well, although when I have it I do try to use stevia.

Have a great night everyone!

Good morning my SB buddies!!
I have been so busy these past couple of days I haven't had time to post. Congratulations to all who lost-way to go To all those who didn't see that scale go down, just hang in there, it will!

I'm so happy Spring is right around the corner weather wise. It's supposed to hit 60 today. I plan to have Parker outside for most of the day "helping" me in the garden. He loves rakes, wheelbarrows, and picking up rocks. He should be in his glory today. I tried to post some pictures of him, but for some reason my camera wasn't cooperating. I'll have to try again. I also wanted to put up a picture of me and my girls, from Krista's 20th BD dinner but no luck.

gym-congratulations with getting on track again. And btw, you can cook for me anytime!

countrymom-sorry to hear that tooth is still bothering you. Ignore the scale, it's evil!

155at50- I eat cottage cheese and strawberries all the time.

tnt- I use Equal.

toni-enjoy this nice weather while it lasts, God knows you deserve it! I'm going to make some bran muffins today too. It's a good switch from the same old same old.

peggy-congrats on the weight loss, and being finished with the cabbage soup! I couldn't wait to get all my posts in to get a tracker too.

ellen-sorry your throwing didn't go too well. I actually like pieces that are a little off. They have character.

solly-enjoy your day of sunshine. My older dog loves to go for rides in the car too. He hops right into the passengers seat and feels like a king!

dtrmnd-glad to see you got right back on track. How were the comics?

bob-glad to hear Tippy is getting better. I have a 2 dogs with floppy ears. They do have more ear problems than dogs whose ears stand up. Enjoy the haircut.

To anyone else I missed, have a happy Hump Day

Happy hump Day!!

I have loads to do today, and I have to grocery shop as well. Yippee.

Crystal-ouch I hope your planning to have that tooth removed. Teeth drive me nuts, I owe my dentist more than id care to admit because of all the fillings I keep needing to have. Good luck.

155-As far as cottage cheese and strawberries. Get plain cottage cheese and mix in the strawberries. I am almost sure the pre packaged kind has sugar. What I do is buy frozen berries and let them defrost in either yogurt or cottage cheese so its sweeter.

TNT-Welcome. You will love it here, always some one to chat with and lots of advice and support. Don't get discouraged the first week feels very over whelming sometimes. I love my sugar busters shopping guide as a quick reference and to bring to the grocery store. You may want to pick it up. Good luck!!

Peggy-Everyone and then I notice that I "post" but it doesn't show up. Usually refreshing the page quickly helps that. I had one big post disappear, so I have been pretty good about copying the post before I actually post so It doesn't get lost just in case. Sorry that happened.

Toni-Nice, always fun when friend treats. Hope you enjoyed it! bran muffins sound good, howd ya make them? I never have "trouble" eating an any point. LOL I wish I did.

Monet-nice job with the plates. I agree being organized is the key to everything successful.

Solly-I hate sleepless nights. I have to say I have been lucky lately, but that could change at any moment. Hope last night's rest was better! It ended up being 2 days off from the gym. Although she wasn't feeling horrible The gym daycare doesn't allow sick kids, plus she needed another day of rest. I did a few crunches and a 2 min sprint. HAHA *RUBBING GOOD EATING THOUGHTS OFF ON YOU* HAha Good luck!

Michele-I hear ya about eating way of plan while being out. I almost wish I never had to eat out because then life with food would be easy. Just get right back today.

BOB_wow tippy sounds like a great dog to have. I have to admit those small dogs are cute but the barking drives me crazy. My friend had one. Tigger is doing better. The vet called to follow up which I thought was nice.

Ok Off to do a quick load of laundry and head off to teach 2 classes. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone. Can't believe its already Wednesday. The week is flying. Not much to report here. My lunch with a friend went well. I ate off the food buffet and had salad, pork chop, green beans and I know some corn. Wasn't great but could have been worse. We had chicken enchiladas last night. Its supposed to rain today I think so its cloudy and gray outside.

155- Strawberries are just fine. Its just pineapple, watermellon and banana unless they are green tipped. I've got some strawberries in the fridge and think I'll cut them up tonight with some cool whip.

Crystal- Ouch nothing worse than a toothache. I'm hurting for you.

Gym- I'll post my recipe for the bran muffins in a bit. I would love to try a greek salad. I've never had one. Hope you have a good day.

Chris- Glad you're doing well, working outside sounds so nice. I'm ready for nice weather after a long winter. Sorry I can't help you with the tracker. I'm not good with that thing.

Have a happy day....

Happy Wednesday,
Had a meeting last night and managed to drink only a glass of water and steer away from the platter of sandwiches and all the sugar laden drinks. Went home and had chicken, asparagus and some wild rice. It sure makes a difference when you only have good food in the house. Use to come home starving and fill my face with a bunch of junk WHILE I WAS MAKING SUPPER! :-)
Have a great day everyone and thanks for being there. Nice to ask a question and get an answer. I'm so glad cottage cheese and strawberries are okay. Great combo for a change.
At work so better get back at it. Check in later.

Default Hello!

Just popping in and saying HELLO to everyone!

I've been super busy, but I've been doing pretty well with my eating... I'm down 4 more pounds!

So now I only have 2 pounds to go to get UNDER the 200 mark!!!

Hope everyone is doing well... I'll try and get on later to post more, but good gravy it's been horribly busy around here and the internet has been on the fritz so it's hit and miss!

I miss you guys... I really need some MOTIVATION!

Happy Wednesday! It is nice to see this board is growing! This is exactly what I was hoping to find when I started searching SB support! You will love it here TNT. You mentioned Splenda, that is what I use in my morning coffee. I only use 1/2 packet in each cup b/c I read how the sweetners are so much sweeter than sugar and you know I like it a LOT better! This dummy had to have that pointed out to her! Sheesh!
Chris~~~Not sure how long you have been on the boards ( I am new) but when I tried to do the weight loss ticker it told me I had to post 25 times before I could use it. I think this is about my 10th post.
Crystal~~Hope your toothache eases up for you. When it is really bad try this...hold an ice cube in each hand until you just can't hold it anymore...you will find the toothache has eased off considerably! A member of the Indian Clan that "adopted" and gave me my Indian name taught me this! Should bring you almost instant relief for a spell.
Gym~~Thanks for the hint on posting!
155~~My BBQ grill has an automatic ignitor and you light it with the lid down, maybe that would help you? There is still a poof but not nearly as loud or strong. My nephew is a fireman and I have seen training video's of grills exploding and it is scary and I have never had the experience you had.
I am so glad everyone's pets are doing better! Big dog and cat lover here!
It is beautiful here today, going to 80! I have all the windows open and I love that cool breeze coming through. I can also hear the crows, the geese as they fly over and see my azealeas in full bloom! Oh YES!!!! And the hummingbirds at the feeders! First one arrived yesterday and I flew in the house and filled the feeders! Can't remember when I moved that fast! He It must have been a returnee from last year b/c it flew right to where the feeder hung last year!
One last thing before I post~~~Well TWO actually! I ate FISH last night and it was very good! I pan seared the Mai Mai filets, put them in a glass pan, sprinkled some orange peel, sea salt, light black pepper and garlic powder, sliced a lime and covered the fish with them, baked it at 350 for 20 mins and on man,,,they were good! LOL, don't remind me I hate fish! Now...for the best thing of all in this post....I weighed this morning and I put the scale on the bathroom floor instead of the carpeted floor where it stays...I have lost 9 1/2 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!! since April first! I even went upstairs and weighed on the scale there to make sure the downstair scale was right and I really did it! Makes me think the Cabbage soup was the kick off diet I needed! I hope all of you are having a great day! ~Peggy

Default Good afternoon

I'm taking a break from chores and tought I'd pop in and saw howdy. Thanks for the nice notes about my goofy tooth. It woke me in the middle of the night but is doing much better righ now. It comes out on the 21st. I wish I could say it's the frist tooth I've lost but it isn't.

Peggy...awesome on the weight loss!! Isn't it great when we find something we think we hate to not be that bad? For me it was green peas....the ones in the can gag me I've always tried to like them and it wasn't happening. Last year I tried the frozen kind that are barely defrosted and they are SO much better.

Beth...hey you..woo hoo you'll be under 200 before you know it.

155...have you ever tried cottage cheese and tomato? I just LOVE it. GREAT job staying away from the sandwiches and drinks. You are so right about having the right foods in the house. The first four years when I was the only one eating this way in the house all their goodies were major temptations. Now that the whole family is basically eating this way it is so much easier to grab the right thing.

Gym...how many kiddos do you have? We raised five but only two are still here at the house. I have one grand baby who will be 3 in Oct. she is a hoot. I forgot to tell you about the bean soup the other day. I just used the seasoning that came in the bag of beans and added some onion, garlic, salt and pepper.

Chris....there were two codes when I made my ticker. I don't remember which code to use but if the one didn't work for you then try the other. Just paste it right in the signature box. Other than that I'm not sure. Sorry I'm not more help.

Toni...((hugzz)) You barely got sunshine before the clouds came back..that isn't fair. Is that typical for this time of year? We are suppose to get rain tomorrow. I sure hope so.

Bob...Monet...Solly...Tech...I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody...((Everybody)) I hope you are having a SUPER day.

God bless,
Crystle

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA today... I went to water aerobics, and was running late. When I got home I changed, and rushed out to take my VERY pregnant friend to lunch. We went to the incredible farmer's market near her house then I came home. The internet was down most of the day and my son finally figured out how to get it to work just before dinner. We ate too late, and had Tonkatsu, salad with ginger dressing and rice. I skipped the rice since the Tonkatsu is breaded ( I used whole wheat panku bread crumbs...).

I am really tired tonight, so I am going to go crawl in bed.

Night!
