  • Good Morning. Today is grocery shopping day. Steve and I shop for two or three weeks at a time so its allot of shopping. We go out of town about an hour away to a super Wal Mart because our little market in town is to expensive and very limited on there choices. I sure need some fruit and veggies. Eating was pretty good yesterday. I made Bob's killer black bean soup and a salad.

Peggy- Howdy hope you're doing good.

Bob- Glad its Friday for ya and now you get to rest a bit. Do you have movies to watch? Think Solly is getting all the rain now. But it is still sprinkling here after a good rain last night. Dang I've never seen it rain so much. We've had a heck of a winter. Thanks for the idea about the pita bread pizza's I happen to have some in the freezer.

155- That lunch salad looked to die for. Yum I would love that. Your eating sounds so good. Keep up the good work.

Gym- I'm so glad your kitty is okay. I had when one of my pets get sick. Good luck on eating good.......

Ellen- Oh I have a weakness for cinnamon rolls. That makes you so proud when something turns out well. Have a great day today.

Well I'm going to finish up my coffee and get ready to shop.......

In fact I am looking forward to it!We are headed to Gatlinburg TN this weekend with our GD Emily who is 3 1/2, so I may not post until next week. IT'S HAPPY HOUR!!! I'm not out drinking, but I'm sure that some where...some are!!

Busy day today, but had to leave at 3:30 to take TIPPY to the VET...She has an ear infection that started rearing itself last night. He gave her two shots, some medrol and ear drops. She's asleep right here by me in her basket that I keep by the computer.

JACKIE...It's less than a month until THE DERBY!!! I'm excited...they have never done a DERBY DRAW at work so I'm going to break them in. I assume you will be going to THE OAKS as always?

TONI...Did you make yourself a pizza? You can really doctor them up with veggies and such...they are so good. What's up for the weekend? I didn't get to watch my movies last week, so I'll be watching them before sending them back.

155....I love that saying...it fits so many people!

    BOB
  • Evening! After water aerobics, which was good, but bad...I was sore....I showered, changed and went and met Tom for lunch. We went to a Chinese place and I got shrimp and broccoli. It was really good. I had egg drop soup and only had a few bites of rice. I came home and tried to get something done in the garagio, but it was rainy and the stuff is still not dry enough to pull handles on. I covered it up and mixed a few glaze tests instead. Dinner was scatterbrained. James and his friends were making frozen lasagna, and he had ordered pizzas for lunch, so Tom and I just ate what they had out.

I am really tired, so I think I will go crawl in bed. Sweet dreams everyone!

  • Howdy
Ya'll must be busy today. ((Everybody)) Jess and I put in two more rows in the garden today. One more of the green beans and a row of scalloped squash. There are 4 more empty rows to fill in. I just was being lazy because it was so cool this morning. I did get in a wonderful walk this evening. My girl friend was on the cell phone talking to me so the time flew. Dinner was so delicious. I had some spaghetti squash with a little olive oil, onion, fresh tomato and a little Parmesan cheese. Yesterday I made a pot of 15 bean soup and ate like miss piggy. I'd get full wait until I had some room and ate some more. It was addicting. At least it was really low fat because I didn't season it with meat, just spices and salt.

I hope ya'll are having a GREAT weekend so far.

    Love and hugs,
    Crystle
  • Good morning everyone,

I had such a busy day yesterday. I started my day with an 8 am bootcamp class, then I had to work, it was a birthday party at my fitness job. The I came home to quickly shower, and get ready for my usual Sat Job at Yankee candle. I finished the book I was reading at midnight and I passed out. I have never slept so good.

Im not sure if I want to take the 9 am kick boxing class. It would be 7 days with out a gym break. I feel great, and Im afraid if I don't go to the gym the day will be a waste. I can say I made it through4 full legal days now. I am on a roll. Today I am cooking a huge meal so I will have left overs for the week. Pork chops, fresh broc and green beans, spag squash, and apple sauce. I am very excited about this meal.

Crystal-I am going to use a your idea and season the spag squash. I hadn't thought of that more than butter. (the spray kind) Thanks. That soup sounds good, and very fibrus. How did you make it. I have been eating red and white kidney beans with stuff. Id love to try a soup. Do you mind posting the recipe?

Ellen-WOw shrimp and broc at a Chinese food place. Thats so good. We order take out from chinease and I get steamed chix or shrimp with the veg. Its not half bad but I also don't have to spell the whole place. Its the smells that cause me to want to be bad. I know the "just ate what they were eating feeling" Did you enjoy it at least? How are you feeling from the water aerobics?

BOB-I hope tippy is feeling better. What is with the animals these days. They sure do like to be costly. what type of animal is tippy?

Peggy-Im not sure what the cabbage soup diet it, but from the sounds of it it must be very "cleansing" Hehe. Sugar busters is a lot of well rounded so it's healthier, I can't wait to hear what you thing of the foods. It will be yummy after cabbage for 3 days. LOL

Toni-How'd grocery shopping go? I hate to go food is so $$$ But I always do so much better when I have good foods hanging around.

Solly, chris, thin and everyone else have a great day--I decided to go to kickboxing so Im off!! tt everyone later..
  • Morning! We had to go to a party at the pastor's house last night. I tried to help prepare stuff, since the party was for potential new members and I was there with my husband who is an elder. I ended up nibbling on the stuff they put out...ginger spring rolls, potstickers, etc. I ate too much and my blood sugar was horrible last night and this morning. I slept like poop, so I am feeling pretty lousy this morning.

GYM: I really did enjoy the shrimp and broccoli. I have a definite weakness for anything Asian...I love all the cuisines but most especially Chinese. They are healthier in the long run, if you steer clear of the battered and fried stuff.

COUNTRY: We still need to plant our garden. I got the seeds from Johnny's, and I can't wait! I bought eight ball zucchini this year...I hope it is good! And this year, I got a pickling cuke. We have SO many cucumbers every year, and I am about the only one who likes them. I made pickles with some last year, and they turned out really good. I figure this year, I will make pickles with a lot of them. I make the refrigerator kind, and they are SO easy! I probably should buy a second refrigerator to keep them in.

Ok, I am off to clean some in the kitchen, then I still have handles to pull. It has been so rainy here my stuff is not drying very fast. I have been trying to pull these handles for two days now!

  • Good morning. Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood...... LOL........ Well we survived our grocery shopping trip. Spending way to much and gripeing about the price of milk, eggs and coffee. But I did get alot of good healthy food. Last night we barbecued a pork tenderloin and had that with a baked in the coals sweet potato. Should have had a salad with it. But as always the week end is a struggle. Yesterday I didn't feel well so it was a lazy day for me. I hope I do some laundry and stuff today.

Solly- I hope you have sunny skies today. We're supposed to start having rain again on Monday I think.

Bob- Hope poor Tippy is doing better today. Jackson is tucked under the blanket with Steve in the recliner. He's been up and busy most the morning.

Ellen- I hope you're feeling better. And busy pulling handles. Try to take it easy today and maybe have a little nap.

Crystal- Oh boy the garden. You can't do anything here because we're still going to have frost. Boo hoo. Your food sounds good. I need to make some beans with my ham bone soon.

Gym- Wow you're busy. Don't you take a day off? Its time to sit down and have a nice smoothie....

Have a great Sunday. Think we'll probably barbecue burgers this evening.
  • Just trying to set up my weight tracker.
  • I can't believe I actually got that to work on the first try. Nothing I do with the computer ever goes that smoothly. Sorry I have been MIA lately. I have just been running around all weekend and never find the time to post. I have to run now, but promise to post tomorrow morning.
  • Hello all,

Another great day of eating, it's amazing the wonderful meals you can have without any sugar.

    Breaki
2 soft boiled eggs,2 slice whole grain toast, 3 slice bacon

    Lunch
    Spinach salad that was killer...
spinach, fresh mushrooms, bacon pieces, slice hard boiled egg, and a great peppercorn sugarfree dressing

    Supper
Grilled porkchop & mushrooms, steamed aspargus, wild rice and some sugarfree jello.

Definitely feels more like a better lifestyle and not a diet.

Worked at my part-time job today (work full time as a graphic designer and part-time as a server in a pub) put on 5 miles according to my pedometer. $1000. in sales. I was smoking busy. Hope all this shows up on the scale tomorrow.

Had a light bulb moment at the grocery store yesterday.
Everywhere you look now the media is talking about how fat North Americans have become in the last few years. AND that's with eating all this "low-fat" food. You pick up any "low-fat" or "lite" product and the 2nd or third ingredient is sugar!!! If everyone is cutting out fat and ramping up on sugar why wouldn't we all be getting fatter? Has anyone else come to the same conclusion.

I had a heck of a time finding a salad dressing that didn't have sugar as it's second ingredient. Did manage to find so great ones by Renee that have omega 3 and no sugar, but it took a lot of looking.

Well, that's my piece for tonight. Hope everyone does great on their weight in tomorrow.

    Cheers
  • Morning! I am trying to decide on Water Aerobics. I slept very poorly and the bed looks awfully inviting!

155: I think the culprit in the obesity epidemic is high fructose corn syrup. It is in everything and is a frankenfood...so is not natural and just floods the system with hard to digest sugars. I will take good old table sugar over it any day and my blood sugars show it is worse than sugar!

  • Morning ladies,

Do we have a place we post our weight loss on Mondays?
I'm down 4.5 pounds this week! Yipeeeeeeee!

I agree Ellen all the frutose, glucose, corn syrup just to make up for the flavour lost from removing the fat is a killer.

    Have a great day everybody.
  • Happy Monday Ladies!

It was simply beautiful here yesterday. Sunny, warm. We worked in the yard all day. Trimmed bushes, weeded the roses, etc. Tehn we went and got 160 retaining wall blocks for do our flower beds. Unloading them was good exercise.

This morning I got up at 5:00 and took Rudy for a 30 minute walk. It felt good. Will probably walk again tonight since it will be nice for 2 days. Then rain.

Monet, hope your stuff is dry today so you can work on it. I wish I like more chineese food. I only like the breaded sweet stuff. Go on to aerobics, you willbe glad you did. Take a nap when you get home.

155: Awesome loss. Keep up the good work.

Toni, your pork roast sounds good. I have my meals planned this week after our shopping trip yesterday.

Bob, Hope tippy is doing better today. How do you know a dog has an ear ache? We will probably go to the Oaks and Derby again. I could stay home myself. we will see now that we have Rudy, DH doesn't like to leave him that long. This Saturday is Thunder over Lou, so all the festivities will be starting. I think they are calling for rain. Bummer.

Chris, hope you can join us more often,

Gym, glad your cat is ok. 7 days at the gym is great.

Country, yourgarden will be great. I started to get some herb plants Saturday, but it is still cool here and we will probably have another frost or 2.

Peggy, I bet you are glad your cabbage soup diet is over. I would be. Hope you had a great time in gatlinberg.

Better get busy. One girl is out this week so I have to do payroll for her. Uck!

    Have a great day.
