Sounds like everyone is glad Easter is over. Having all those sweets around is tough when trying to stay OP. I'll be in the same boat next month when I have Easter. I bought all my Easter stuff 50% off at Wal Mart yesterday. I hid all the candy away so I don't have to look at it.
I have Parker and Grace here this morning as well as my daughter,Gable who has a respiratory infection. Just wanted to check in and say hi.
Good news, I weighed in at 179 this morning! I can't believe I'm out of the 180's.

Hope the remainder of your week is good.

Morning everyone. Just having my coffee and playing on the computer. All is fine here. Got the floors done in the house yesterday. And no I didn't get on the treadmill as planned. We're still eating on our ham. I think tonight I'll make a ham and cheese quiche for dinner. I do a crustless one so its healthy. It will make a nice light dinner. I'm so lucky theres no Easter candy in the house. Now if the Grandkids were here that would be a different story. Lots to do in the house today. I planted lettuce and its up. Can't wait till its big enough to eat.

Solly- I kind of felt that way yesterday. Couldn't seem to wake up. In fact I fell back asleep in my recliner yesterday morning.

Gym- I hope you keep feeling better and take it easy till you get strong again.

Chris- Congrads on getting to 179. My gosh what a dream that is.

Well off to get some more coffee. Have a good day.

Default Howdy

Are the wayward still welcome? *smile* It is me again. I got off plan for a bit and gained and gained. Then in Dec. my hubby and I both went on plan together. That is working very well and we both have dropped about 20 pounds. A few weeks ago I got the wonderful news that my cholesterol was too high so now I'm even more faithful with what I eat. I will do what it takes to not have to take medicine. I'm slowly getting back to exercising. The one thing missing was you guys, so here I am. ((Everybody))

Love,
Crystle

Question mari

Thanks everyone for the good feedback! Being a newbie, I'm not sure what all is included in starchy carbs. Can anyone give me a definition ??

A typical menu is:
Breakfast-1 cup oatmeal with a few walnuts and a few dried cranberries
OR I might have a slice of chunky whole wheat bread and
1 homemade skinny latte - SF syrup and skim milk
Snack - handful of peanuts Diet Coke
Lunch - salad with a drizzel of Lite dressing and chicken or a few veggies
OR whole wheat bun at Subway with turkey or ham and veggies
Snack - 2-3 cups of popcorn at work, Diet Coke or pop
Supper - meat on the grill, veggie of some sort, made curried brown rice
tonight (had about 1cup serving), water or diet pop
Snack - SF fudge bar, maybe a few peanuts, (I have been having 2 or 3 of
the little Dove dark chocolate pieces

Am I totally not legal with the plan. Thanks for any help!

Hey All my sugar buster buds..

I have 2 gym days under me, and Im going this am. I was nervous about ever getting back there. Phew. First I must drink the coffee and relax. HA

Eating is back to on plan, but not quite back to the smaller portions as the few weeks Where I was sick and loosing. Now I also have this awful sweet tooth at night. I can't even say I don't fight it. Both nights I have allowed it, one nite was sugar free Easter candy, last night was 85% choc lindt. I have to say that has an awful after taste. I wouldn't have eaten the 4 squares if I had slowed down to notice. How bad is that. LOL

marbrandt-A starchy carb are things like bread, oatmeal, sweet potato's, pasta, rice, whole wheat products. Basically bread products and starches. Since sugar busters does not allow corn or white potato's I didn't list them. I would highly suggest buying The Sugar busters Shoppers guide. That has a lot of quick information and I still refer to it if I am unsure. As far as your menu, Popcorn isn't legal, it's a high GI food and isn't allowed. Anything puffed is never good. Make sure the oatmeal is the natural, slow cooking type. Quick cooking oats and rice are high GI food that spike the blood sugar. Diet soda should be clear, but as long as they don't have added sugar they are ok, although consumed in moderation. 6-8 glasses of water is recommended every day so I find it tough to even drink soda with all the water. Hehe. Not all dark chocolate is "legal" it must be either 70% or 85% coco. I know this seems like a lot to follow. And It is up to you what you choose to abide by. I just know that when I am all "legal" I lose and when I cheat or have treats I do not. For me it is a struggle and a balance. If your wanting to lose weight then I suggest adding more protein, vegi, fruit and water throughout your day. Although peanuts are legal, they add fat so just be cautious of serving size. Most of all though remember your not going this alone, and non of us are perfect. It helps to at least know the "rules" persay so you know when your cheating. There is nothing worse then thinking your doing good and then finding out your not. I learned the hard way thanks to this lovely bored and books. Enjoy your day, and good luck.

Crystal-Welcome back. I didn't know you from before..But I hope to get to know you this time around. COngrats on the 20 pounds lost.. that rocks.

Toni-Thank you and am just about 95% better. You are so lucky to not have Easter candy around. It is killing me. That and the crap my sister has around here. Once I start it's a drug. I can't wait to have a sugar free house. Can't eat what isn't there. Enjoy your day.

Chris-Awesome getting everything on sale--My suggestion for the candy. Throw it out..Haha don't even try it. Haha If only it were that easy. WHOO Congrats on getting out of the 80's. Thats amazing. Im working on the 70's right now. I feel stuck. We are just about the same weight. Maybe you can beet me out of the 70's...

Solly-Hope everything is going well with you this am. Are you getting used to the colors yet? Hope the walks are going well. It has actually been nice walking weather here--I should get my butt outside again. Enjoy your day!!

Everyone else..Hope you have a great day.

Chr grl-Where did you go, I miss reading your menus and your great successes. Hope all is well!!

Just got in from my morning meetings. We did manage to get a 2 mile walk in before it rained last night. It is pouring again today.

Crystal, I am so glad to see you back. 20 lbs is awesome girl. Give me some of that motivation. Stay with us you hear.

Toni, I'm surprised your lettuce hasn't foated away with all this rain and snow. Some days are just good for falling back to sleep in the recliner. Today is one for sure.

Gym., glad you are back in the swing of things. Fresh air seems to do lots of good things. Brightens your spirits too.

Chris, congrats on getting into the 170's. I'm jealous. Keep on going down.

Mari, the wheat bread at Subway is not legal. It is made with enriched flour which is a no-no. But probably not too bad in a pinch. Popcorn is ok occaisionly.

I have an upset stomach today. Didn't sleep much last night. I think I woke up at 2:30 and could not go back to sleep. Our painter is finished. So now comes the job of getting the room back in order. Don't think I am much up for it tonight. Maybe Saturday. Have a great day.

Good afternoon everyone. Just a fly by. Made a good crustless quiche last night for dinner. It was ham, cheese and green onion. Should have put some broccoli in it but forgot. Even Steve liked it. Think I'll have the leftovers for lunch.

Solly- I was shocked the lettuce hadn't washed away. Put must have been the old time tub I had it in. Need to go check on it today. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I'm glad your painting is over. Bet your dog is too.

Gym- Good for you two days back at the gym. I'm the same way about sugar. And if its the house I'll eat it.

marbrandt- Can't help but have one of those subways once in awhile. Keep up the good work. You'll get the hang of it soon.

Well off to have one more cup of coffee.

Hello everyone! I have been a busy busy bee lately! I have a kiln load of glazed pieces firing right now, and another load ready to glaze and fire. I got a few special orders that were hanging over me done and I generally feel much more optimistic then I did three or four weeks ago. AND, I have lost about four pounds this month without thinking about it...just eating when I was too hungry to work anymore.

I should be back totally in another few days. Can't wait to catch up with everyone!

Happy Friday,

Layed on the couch most of the night. I did muster enough energy to swiffer and mop my family room floor. Didn't get anything put back yet though.

Feeling better today. It comes and goes.

Monet, glad to hear from you. can't wait until you are back on a normal basis.

Toni, that quiche sounds good. I was going to make one for easter and decided against it. Now I want one.

Bob, I sure was hoping the Vols could pull it out last night. I only watch the first half.

If any one has a few prayers to spare, please say them for a dear friend of our who went through a bone marror transplant yesterday at Vandy. He has some rare disease and after months and months of waiting for a donor, they found a 23 year old that was a match. What a wonderful human being that person is. It will take 2 weeks for him to build up his own marrow. They need many prayers that all goes as well as the transplant went.

Have a great day and weekend.

Good Happy friday!!

Well I gained 4 pounds this week. It actually makes me laugh. At least If I know I did bad for 2 days and took off 5 days from the gym I will gain. I have 4 gym days under me so far this week, and 3 1/2 sugar free days. I wish I could say they were treat free days as well, alas I have "had" to use sugar free candy as my cruch to rid the body of all that sugar. It's just about gone so I will be fine next week. I have to say the 4 pound gain sucks but I enjoyed ever bite of it.

Solly-Good luck with getting the room bak together, although in my book you already the hard part. Cleaning sux but arainging is kinda fun. Hope you get better soon, and we have rain here too it stinks big time. I will keep your friend in my thoughts.

Money-its great to see you..And Hope all is going well. Glad the time off is doing you some good.. Have a nice weekend.

Toni-I agree the quich sounds yummy. I really need to cook more. Have a great friday!!

Ok everyone Have an awesome Friday--And a even better weekend!!

Happy Friday everyone. I stayed up late with DH and so I slept in this morning. So I'm just having my morning coffee. Its windy and cold here this morning. Gone is our nice warm days. Made stir fry last night. But really its pretty boring around here.

Solly- Without a crust the quiche is so easy to make and so easy to heat back up if theres leftovers. I hope you feel better today. Its so lousy feeling bad.

Gym- You're a brave soul for getting on that scale. I've not stepped on mine in awhile. I've got to get more veggies in my eating.

Well guess I'll run....

Hi everyone! Thanks for the great feedback and setting me straight on what's legal.

Got one more question -- what's the deal about eating fruit 30 min before meal or 2 hrs after meal. Does it affect your weight loss?

The quiche you were talking about sounds great. Can you post the recipe?

Have a great weekend everyone. Hope you all are having better weather than we are in South Dakota. Brrrr - spring just doesn't want to come.

Mar- I think it just helps to eat fruit like that to keep from getting an upset stomach. If you don't have trouble with that which I don't eat it whenever. This is how I made my quiche. 6 eggs, 3/4 cup of fat free half and half (I'm sure milk would probably work.) then I just add what I want like this time I put in about a cup of cheese, a cup of ham, and some green onions chopped and salt and pepper. You can really put in it what you want. Last time I put some baby spinach and cheese in it. I put it in a large sprayed with pam pie pan and bake at 350 for 20 to 25 min. Its so easy and good.
