Whoopie a new clean start. Love it when Monet puts the new one up. Thanks for the good advice. Tried the Kashi pizza last night. It was the chicken one. And I thought it was alright. I put more chicken on it though. Ate the leftovers for breakfast/lunch. I'm finally on the new laptop. Thank goodness for my DH getting it right. He's feeling better. He just can't have allot of salads it kills his reflux disease.
Bob-You make it feel like fall is in the air. I'm not into football but love to hear you gals and your teams. Monet-Did you get my pm. Is that alright? Heres hopeing we all have a good Sept. and our missing ones start coming back and our newbies stay. |
TONI: I replied to your PM. Didn't you get the reply? Yes, it is all right. No problem! As I said in the PM, it will only be a couple dollars total, so you are prepared, and don't have to worry about how much! :)

Hey everyone!
I'm still alive - sleep deprived - but alive! :tired: Blake :bb: is doing great - he's growing so much! He eats all the time...I guess he gets that from me! He sleeps a lot during the day - 3-4 hours at a time. At night he sleeps for about 3-4 hours during the first part of the night and after the first feeding, he's up every 2 - 2 1/2 hours. So, I'm not sleeping much between those hours! By the time I get back to sleep he's waking up again!! But, I know that this will only last for a short period of time - and I've been waiting for this for so long - so I am not complaining!! Lexie seems to be coming around and liking Blake a little more than before :cheer2: so I'm really happy about that!! Other than that - not much else happening here! I'll be celebrating my 37th birthday Tuesday:woo:. I can't believe that I am turning 37 with 2 young kids. I remember when my sister was pregnant with her first and she was 27 - I thought that was so old to be having a baby! I was 16 at the time...so anything over 20 was old to me! HA! Well...look who's laughing now....I'm the old one! FILLISE: Isn't it your birthday this week too? I think it's you! Well, I'm off for now! Talk to you all again soon - hopefully! Much love Missy |
AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!
I'm dragging my big ole arse in after staying up late to watch that football game.....GAME????? I think Aliens took over my team....that's it...http://bestsmileys.com/aliens/1.gif took over my team!!! Had I been a drinking gal, I would have been sloppy drunk by the end of the 1st quarter! At least it wasn't a conference game.....ON TO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS!!! Needless to say, I didn't get ONE THING DONE YESTERDAY because of watching all the football games! SO.........today, I'll finish my laundry, change the beds, and I think I'll fix steamed cabbage for supper...sounds good! What's on everyone's plate for the day? Oh, DANG MISSY....YOU'RE GONNA BE OLD!!!!! I'll check in later.... BOB |
Hey everyone! I am still entertaining my mother in law, so I have not been on much lately.
We had a big crew for dinner last night, which turned out ok. I have tried to get into the garagio to work some today, but it just did not happen the way I had hoped. :( I better get my online 'chores' done and get back to entertaining... Later! |
Yea! a new board! Rachel's birthday is Tuesday and she'll be 13!! Both of my babies are teenagers, but they are so much fun! I just love going to see the band concerts, marching band and football games and dance events. Its so neat to see them developing into young adults and be so talented. We had a little party yesterday with three of her friends. Craig grilled hamburgers for us and they all put on mud masks last night. Then they spent the night and went home this morning. We had birthday at grandma's today and we'll go shopping tomorrow since we're off from school. She ended up with a gift certificate to a dance store, itunes cards and a starbucks card as well as some cold hard cash!!
Hope everyone has a great week and a great month! I'm hoping to get more serious about my effort and get into walking again since the weather is cooling off some. We are leaving for a few days on the beach on the 15th and I would love to have a couple more pounds off by then! we'll see! |
Hi All,
Have been gimping around, back is killing me, as is arthritis. So far though, I have managed to get done what has to be done. Went to NH and did the entertaining thing as well. Cleaned and did more wash. Today? Buptkus!! The scale is on the way down again. So we will see how that goes. MONET: I will look again to see if I can find you. SOLLY: Have not heard from Ashley in ages. I tried after Katrina and could not get through. There has been no answer since, yet phone company doesn't say line discontinued. SAROSE: To me you're not tall. Used to my GD who is just shy of being a full 6'. You mentioned pickles and that reminded me.........one of the benefits of vinegar is it supposed to help with weight loss. Whenever I make a three/four bean salad or colesaw w/ vinegar dressing I do much better in weight loss. So it may have some merit, or it's all in my head!!! TONI: I'm not a football fan either. What I know about the game I learned from my crossword puzzles. Although living with my family the last eight and a half years I have learned a few other things about it. They are real fanatics! BOB: Is LSU in your conference? That's who we root for around here. GD went there for her first year, got rid of the nitty gritty have to have courses so she could concentrate on film at UNO. I'm always behind the times. Just watched Queen and really liked it. MISSY: Ah yes, I remember those baby years well!! You're so old! lol I remember when DS was in Army he had to take a tug driving test. He kept telling us this old guy who took the test at the same time. Finally asked him how old "old" guy was. "Gee, he was at least 33 or 35!" DS was all of 19! So everything is relative. Besides the closer you get to an age, the younger it looks!! I had a very touching moment at the NH Thursday. As I was leaving a young woman came up to me, reached over and started patting and stroking my shoulder. I must say as I was taken aback, but then she started talking and with tears in her eyes asked, "I wonder if you know how much the things you do here are appreciated? Mrs. O'Grady died last night and she enjoyed your groups so much. Everyone I talk to here say you are a blessing." I must say it choked me up. She went on to say other complimentary things and ended by thanking me again. Wasn't that nice? A real surprise. I have been thanked before but she was so bereft and heartfelt. I'll never forget. Hope y'all have a nice weekend. May good things happen, Shirley |
Howdy gals. House cleaning today. We're kind of staying in this week end. Guess I'm boring. Went on ebay and bid on an old time wooden butter churn. Hope I get it. I made a meatloaf for dinner with some fresh broccoli and sauteed mushrooms. Yum. Got to run we're watching a movie but wanted to check in.
|
SHIRLEY
Yes, LSU is in my conference....they are on the West side and we're on the East side. The winners of both meet up in Atlanta in December to see who wins the Conference. BOB |
MORNING EVERY BUDDY!!!

As soon as KATE gets up, I'm going to get er done... No plans for today. Lots to do around the house Hope everyone has a relaxing day! BOB |
:bday2you: :bday2:Happy Birthday, Fillise! :woo: :bday2you: |
Howdy and happy Monday to ya all. Happy Birthday Fillise:carrot: Our little town is hopping with tourists. We can hear them on the river in canoes. Laughing and screaming and just having a really good time. The campsites are full on the last big camping holiday of the year. The week end weather has been just beautiful. Think we'll probably barbeque something tonight. Hope everyone is having a good week end.
|
Happy Birthday FILLISE!! :celebrate::bday2you: I knew it was close to mine!

Oh wow I love your graphics Bob. Just went over to that hungry-girl.com site. I really like reading about the new products etc. over there. I forgot to mention I tried those new steam bags for vegetables last night and of course lazy me loves them. It great to just pop your veggies in with no water or anything and throw in the microwave. My broccoli was done perfect. DH thinks I'm crazy for buying them. LOL
|
Hi All,
Lazy weekend, which is good, DS BBQed yesterday and he's making tacos tonight. DIL down with a migraine. I have been editing a genealogy file my niece sent me on husband's side. It is really very interesting. Arthur still acting up so don't do any activity too long. BOB: Checked with DS, and he told me the names of teams. Never asked before. I'll have to pay more attention so I'll know what you're talking about. Hate to admit it but kids enthusiasm is rubbing off on me for football.! I hate it when your body clock is not on same line as mental clock, It is so hard to sleep in if you're well. FILLISE: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! TONI: We had the same thing in Milford. It is right on the banks of the Delaware and there are a lot of campgrounds. It is good to see people having fun. Unfortunately there were some accidents but few and far between. I was wondering about those cooking bags. Birdseye has veggies in bags that you just put in microwave as is and they work wonderfully well. Have to move so will check in again. May good things happen, Shirley |

Good morning ladies,
Hope everyone had a good and restful weekend. Ours was busy but fun. Yesterday we bought soem mums and azaeleas to plant. One of the nursery's was having a 50% off sale. The mums were huge and so nice. Now we have to get them in the ground. Missy, Happy Birthday: :balloons: :hat: :bday2you: :woo: :celebrate: Hope you get a minute to relax and enjoy it today. Susan, Happy Birthday: :balloons: :hat: :bday2you: :woo: :celebrate: Hope your day was special too. Toni, I was wondering about the steam bags. I thought it was silly to buy them too, but hey if they work, why not? I buy the Bird's eye veggies that come in the steam bag and they are good too. Yum, meatloaf sounds good, may have to make one this week. BOB, sorry about your Vols. I was pulling for them. How has your eating been going? Monet, Company gone? Hope you found some time to get to the garage. Thin, happy belated birthday to Rachael. 13 can be a scarry age. Glad you are having so much fun with them. Sef, what a nice thing for that lady to say to you. I am sure they all appreciate what you do for them. It is so nice of you to take time out of your life to do that. I had Ashley's cell phone at one time and talked to her after Katrina, but that was it. Wish she would pop in. We will be without computers Wednesday and Thursday all day. So I won't be back on until Friday (hopefully if all goes well). Thursday I have to bowl in a bowl-a-thon UPS is putting on to raise money for the United way. Hope my back holds out. They are putting on a tailgating party and tickets to the U of L game too. So it should be a fun time. Have a great day and if I don't get back later today, talk to you on Friday. |
Oops! forgot someone.
3blessing :welcome: this is a great place. Glad you can join us. Ask any questions you may have, someone will have an answer. Looking forward to getting to know you. |
Oh Boy did someone mention College Football!!!???
Well I didn't fair to well on labor day, I was running around all morning and didn't eat anything until 1:30 so by then I was really hungry. Too much BBQ, beans, rice and potato salad. No exercise last night either :( But today is a new day and there are no serious eating holidays until the "mega-holiday" season gets here. Rosemary Hook em Horns! 1982 alumni! I bleed Burnt Orange! Need I say more...lol. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...mann/tu-sm.gif |
Hi All!
The pits..........DIL was able to take GD's rental car to work and was going to take mine after lunch. I was headed out to the NH, got in car, turned car.....nothing! Tried again...a little grind and a click, click, click and.......nothing! Had to call NH and cancel at last minute, then called DIL and told her. GD has to go into city for film work so she will take her Mom into work when she leaves, which will make for a short lunch time. DIL has two hour lunch and is able to come home, office is only 10 min. away. Hope it is just the battery. Don't need anything big time. I am going through old pictures and newspapers for my niece for genealogy book she is doing. Not a quick job, really takes time. 3Blessings: WELCOME You will find a lot of support here. Everyone is very nice and usually someone can answer a question. I find it a learning experience as they are so many helpful hints. Tell us a little about yourself. MISSY: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Hope you have time to enjoy it. SOLLY: Used to bowl a lot when I was younger. Then a few years ago I tried again, wound up with a sprained thumb and sore back! Hope you do well. Just taking a break from picture sorting. Some I wonder why we even kept! May good things happen, Shirley PS - Scale down another 1#!!! |
Gained a 1/2 lb. this week. I drank some wine over the week end and think that did it. Hopefully will do better this week. Every thing is my world is going okay. But for some reason I've got a heck of an ear ache.
Welcome 3 blessings. Hope you'll enjoy this way of eating as much as I do. Ask lots of questions. They're a great bunch of gals here. Tell us about you. Happy Birthday Missy may you have a wonderful day. Sef-Congrads on losing the a lb. Whoopie..... Solly I love the bags. Its so easy and no clean up. Rosemary- You're in the right place for sports here....LOL Howdy Bob and Monet..... Have to hurry.. Time to fix DH's lunch. |

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!
I'm headed off to bed. I'm torn on my TV for the evening...BIG BROTHER is coming to an end soon and BIGGEST LOSER starts tonight at the same airing time! I'm watching TASTE OF AMERICA and they are visiting the so called place the banana split was invented...sure looks good, but I just don't like those kinds of things...give me good old fashioned frozen custard any day. I'm still not feeling well from the virus I had last week. So to answer your question JACKIE...last week, I lost 11lbs but that was mostly fluid and yes, it's back...today I've just not been hungry and the tummy just doesn't seem to want real food. I did eat breakfast, but when lunch came, I almost lost it. Everything feels like a cannon ball hitting bottom. It won't kill me to not eat, that's for sure. I'm drinking my water like a fish...it's the only thing that really tastes good to me. WELCOME 3 BLESSINGS....we're always glad to have one more...anxious to hear more about you, so sit on down and open on up! SARA....at least your color is right for me...I enjoy watching TEXAS play ball, but i'm a died in the wool SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE GAL!!! You'll have to keep us updated on who y'all play everyweek...the majority of us pull for teams in the same conference. SLEEP TIGHT EVERY BUDDY...I'm crawling up in the four poster...TIPPY is already up there and snoring quite loudly. I'll talk to ya'll on the morrow BOB |
Thanks for all the birthday wishes! The day was pretty uneventful - just did mommy duties! Will celebrate this weekend though - my sister is coming to babysit!

I am sorry I have been MIA today. We had a weird power problem, where we had a tripped breaker that would not turn back on. We tried replacing it, nothing worked. When Tom got home, he tested his theories he formed thinking on the way home. I am married to a genius. He found a short/loose wire and now there is power in the lower level and garage again. The electrician will come next week and figure out how to solve the problems, but it is ok until then. In the meantime, I have electricity in the garagio again. I about went nuts with no power to work with. In addition, our internet would not work because the router is on that breaker.
Today was our 31st wedding anniversary. Where has the time gone? I will check in tomorrow! I have chores to do, and we just got in from having dinner out. (Italian...cheese ravioli in cream pesto sauce...delicious, but probably not too legal.) |
:balloons: Happy Birthday, Fruitloupe! :balloons: |
Just a sec before they turn off the computers.
Bob, hope you start feeling better soon. Lets hope for a better weekend of football all around. Monet, happy anniversary. 31 years is a big accompishment today. May you have at least 31 more together. Sararose, put the day behind you and start anew. That is a secret. I don't seem to grasp well. I think it is a license to eat whatever until Monday. Sef, sorry about the car. I hate car trouble. Hope it is just the battery. Congrats on the l lb gone. Toni, I agree with you. Anything to make cleanup easy is my way. I will have to get some of those bags. Missy, enjoy your weekend out. Is this the first time out w/o with both kiddies? Well I didn't take notes and switched pages so being old, I can't remember who else posted. Hope I didn't miss anyone. Talk to you Friday. |
Hello all & thanks for the birthday wishes. I was in NC for a long labor day weekend with my parents. just got back last night. I had a good day--quiet, but good.
I'm happy to report that mom is doing well. All her tests show that the tumors are "asleep" and she she gets a few more months of no chemo. She loves that! We went to the NC State game on Saturday and she did great. She was pretty wiped out on Sunday, but then we all were. Missy--Happy belated birthday to you! You can't be old when you are chasing two little ones. They will keep you young! LSU looked good on Thursday. BOB--Uh-oh. I was pulling for UT--honest, I was! Monet--Sounds like the mom-in-law is keeping you busy! Solly--Thanks for the birthday wishes! It's a "9" brithday, so it is the LAST one I will be acknowleding.:o SEF--Sounds like you are busy as usual. Toni--Hey! Hello to everyone. Susan |
Kids back at school today... ...I hate when they're gone.
I took Kyle to his classroom and lo and behold...they didn't have a hook for his backpack with his name on it. Everyone else did but Kyle. I said, here we go again. Derek wanted me to go back and raise the roof but I just don't want the trouble we had last year. And, worse yet, the boy that sits right next to Kyle was supposed to repeat kindergarten last year, but his parents put him through to first, anyway. Then you have Kyle who wrote out his entire list of 'what I did this summer' by himself without even asking how to spell the words (this is one of the items on the list the way he spelled it...I lerned the state capitales...pretty good for a first grader, I think!!) and this boy is very behind...and liked to pick on Kyle last year terribly..I think because since Kyle is so smart, this boy has to make himself feel better after Kyle makes him feel not so smart just from seeing Kyle read the way he does. So, there Kyle sits...poised to get in trouble next to this trouble maker. Here we go again. Okay...off to clean the house...now that the kids are gone... |
Well It's official <sigh>, I'm sick, I finally caught the crud, sore throat, fever, chills totally feel like a train ran over me. Felt it coming on the last couple of days and yesterday it finally really hit me. I left work early, dragged in today but feel like a chewed up rug. I soothed my ills last night with Fried Chicken of all things, needless to say no exercise last night and there probably wont be any til I get to feeling better. Gotta attend a boring mandatory meeting in a couple of minutes. OH JOY...NOT!!!
Rosemary |
Aw, sounds like Rosemary and Tech are not having great days. :grouphug:
Mine is ok so far. My daughter's father in law has written a book about his son, and Amazon has it listed. Complete with a picture of the cover, with my son in law and grandson's picture on it! I am going to go get in the pool. I am hot and sticky and feeling like someone rolled over me with a Mack truck. :( |
Dang it I lost my whole post. This laptop is crazy. I just got done having breakfast of a half ww bagel with whipped cream cheese on it. Now I'm enjoying some coffee. My morning is running late. As usual.
Monet - Happy anniversery to you! Wow 31 years is great. Glad you got some power back on. Tech- Sorry about Kyle having such a bad first day. Rosemary-Hope you feel better and get back on track with your eating soon. Solly- Hurry back..... Fillise- Howdy gal. Got to run... Have a happy day. Wish I was swimming Monet. |
HELLO...EVERY BUDDY!!
I had a late day today and then had to stop at the grocery. After being sick all weekend, I didn't get out to shop so we needed everything. I was completely out of things to fix for lunch. I'm feeling back to normal today. I think the antibiotics finally started working. SARA...I sure hope you're not getting what I had...it's a rough one. It's now going around my office...keep all fingers crossed that I don't get it again!! I'm off to fix some supper...what??? I just don't know My TEAM plays AIR FORCE this weekend at home. I don't know anything about that team so everything will be a surprise as it happens. Then the week after is THE FLORIDA GAME!!! One of the DOCS has already started on me so I've decided that I'm going to sing ROCKY TOP to him every chance I get next week! I'll check in a little later... HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY MONET!!! BOB |
I hope you guys keep your sickies down there! Just in time for school to start, out comes the illnesses!!
Well, Kyle had a good time at school today. I coached him to totally ignore the little boy next to him (unless he's being nice) and to not let him get him into trouble. He's the type of kid that pokes Kyle till he gets mad and then guess who's got their name on the board...Kyle. And there is a new boy in Kyle's class with the last name of MCCONAUGHEY!!! I told Kyle to tell the boy to bring his uncle Matthew to school for show and tell. ;) Actually, it's spelled differently, so I'm sure there's no uncle Matt to talk about...I just like saying things like, "that McConaughey boy"...its cool. Shelley went to school today with her new red streaks I put in her hair this weekend. They look totally awesome. It looks like Little Mermaid hair. And it totally fits her personality. So, the day was off to a sketchy start, but finished off just fine. I even went to the mall to exchange some jeans of Shelley's and to check out the new store Hollister's. I hate it. First off, it's so DARK I can't even see the clothes OR the price tags. I went in with Shelley earlier in the week and it was so crowded I had to check it out with hardly anyone in the store...VERY over priced and the clothes seem very chincy and only meant for the very, very skinny. I left with nothing and went to Sears. Much more up my alley. Okay...have dishes to wash. Will be back soon!! |
Also, I'm happy there is a new boy in Kyle's class because he really needs a good friend and who better than a new kid that really needs a good friend, too. Shelley, also, has a new girl in her class and the poor girl vomited during an assembly today in front of her whole class. Poor thing. I would have wanted to die. So, Shelley wholeheartedly agrees that this girl could be her new best friend, as she'll also be looking for a good friend and Shelley really has been desperate for a 'best' friend. She has many friends, but none that are close enough to even have called her to come visit over the summer. She invited a few to the beach with us and for an over night or two, but nobody called her once to come to their house. And one girl in her class lives right next door! Shelley walks outside and the girl totally ignores her. So, I'm optimistic for both kids with new friends.
Okay...washing dishes... |
