Back from the gym! I went to Water Aerobics this morning, then out to breakfast with my neighbor. I got the two egg breakfast, and harvest grain pancakes. I did not do too badly!
I have a few errands to run, but I am really tired, so I may take a bit of a nap. |
Well, on the downside, eating has been HORRIBLE. Although the eggsalad on rye yesterday wasn't too bad, everything else has been downright junkfood. I have a full-size kitchen at the shop with a full-size fridge, so once I get started and in a groove, I can stock the fridge with good stuff to eat while I'm at work, but for now, it's total mayhem.
On the upside, the little old men have been circling the future barber shop like vultures!! One man came in yesterday while I was picking up the kids from school and asked my dad, "When's she opening? Is she good?" "Oh, yeah, she's been cutting hair for 25 years!" "Oh, good! What time will she open on Monday?" I'm so excited!! I'm hoping my dad gets my barber pole up today. I think he's kind of dreading it. Derek is still in Pennsylvania. We're meeting him in Rochester on Saturday morning to go to Buffalo together for the Sabres game this weekend :woohoo: !!!! It's a preseason game, but affordable so the whole family can go without taking out a loan! They're playing the Pittsburge Penguins. Shelley's just about foaming at the mouth. She loves Sydney Crosby. Anyhow... Toni: 2 pounds is great! I have a 2 pound change, as well, but I didn't put it on my ticker because it's going the wrong way! Solly: the only show I watch at the moment is Sabres hockey (starting next week!) and Ghost Hunters on SciFi. New show last night. I love ghost stuff...as long as it's not MY house :fr: Monet: I love that poo story. I would have done the same thing. The kids don't know how good they have it, living with Gramma. |
Morning! I head up to North Georgia to work today. I am really excited! I sold a piece yesterday and one overnight! Two in two days has me hopping in excitement. And they were both more pricey ones! :woohoo:
Not much else to report...I am terribly sore from water aerobics yesterday, but it is a good sore. TECH: Have FUN at the game! I can't wait to hear how the opening goes! I think you should have a pot of coffee and some donuts (NO! NOT for you! ) for the old guys to munch on. They are going to LOVE you! By the way, WE do..so don't disappear. Do you hear me? And do you need me to make you some mugs, shaving mugs, or something? :) |
Hello Everybody,
I am stressing big time. Big concert next week with the San Antonio Symphony and we are practicing nightly, no time to make dinner, lots of take out and no time to fit in exercise (unless I get up at 5am or do it at 10pm neither of those things is gonna happen). Concert is next Thursday....just crossing my fingers that this stress doesn't lead to a few extra lbs on the scale <sigh>. Way too many food celebrations at work these days too, food is everywhere! If I can hold on for one week, things should calm down. Rosemary |
Hello all. Not much going on here. Went yesterday to the post office to pick up my package from Monet and they had the whole parking lot toren up so that you couldn't get in. Only in a small town can they do such a thing. I'll go back today or maybe call first. Did some laundry. Other than that the day is slow. Eating has been good. Made a great dinner of poached chicken, brussel sprouts, salad and a slice of cantaloupe. Need to grocery shop tomorrow we're out of anything good. Need fresh vegetables.
Rosemary- I hope your concert goes well. Maybe next time you can figure out something different. Like pack a lunch. Maybe have some frozen diet dinners ready for you. I can't even imagine how hectic things must be. Just do your best and thats all you can do. Try to relax and enjoy. Monet-Have a happy day up north. Thats wonderful you sold a piece. Your things are beautiful. Tech- Everything sounds wonderful and exciting. You're like Rosemary busy as can be.... I'm so excited about your shop. The barber pole sounds great. Please don't stop coming. Will be back later. |
The barber pole went up today! WOOHOO :woohoo: Tomorrow my dad is hooking it up with electricity so it lights up and spins! I went to see my sign today at the sign shop and started crying. I can't believe it...finally my own shop...Broadway Barber and Salon. Broadway because that's the name of the street. And my theme is a lighthouse painted like a barber pole because our town is sort of famous for our lighthouse. So, I have the barber pole lighthouse on the sign. I'll post a picture soon. The only one I have is on my phone.
Anyhow...tomorrow's the last day to prepare before opening. Don't worry, I'll still be on here posting. I could never go without YOU guys. Besides, I'll need the support once I get in a groove and stop eating Chef Boyardee for dinner. :o |
I am back from north Georgia. I actually got back about two hours ago but Tom had grilled some salmon for dinner so we sat and ate and talked. We had a productive day. I made some square accessories to go with my square plates I am making, so I will have probably a set of service for at least four when it is all done.
Not much else going on...I need to go down and work some tonight, so I will get off here and get going! I have some orders to fill! :) |

Good morning. Sure glad it is Friday.
We have a wedding tomorrow and Sunday I was supposed to help work at a house tour with my DD, but they have too many volunteers so we don't have to work but can still tour the houses if we want. Thy are some big, rich, outlandish houses in the city. We will probably hit a couple, but I don't want to run all over town. Monet, wow sounds like you are going great selling your wares. How wonderful. I think oif you everytime I come into my kitchen and see my jar. Tech, I am so excited foryou. Sounds like you are ready to go. I know you will have great success. I agree with Monet, you need some cookies or something for your grand opening. Rosemary, Hoping the concert goes well. Things will settle down and you can get back on track. Toni, :woohoo: Another 2 pounds is awesome. That recipe sounds delish. Bob, are you getting ready for some football? Have a great weekend everyone! |
Good morning
Just a quick howdy to let you know I have not ran away again. This is just been a very busy week. Eating is just fine but the scales aren't moving.
((Everybody)) Hope ya'll have a SUPER weekend. Love and hugs, Crystle |
Okay, the cupboards are up and filled with shampoo and towels, the shelf with hooks is up and sporting my clippers and blowdryer, my drawer is filled with clips, clipper attachments and fun stuff like a new pair of scissors, the barber pole is live and spinning and lites up. Sign is up over the door. Hours are posted in the window. All that is left is the panic attack I had earlier, wondering if Viggo Mortensen is going to come in for a haircut because his father lives around the corner from us and his mother lives in the town over and he spends a lot of time here in Cape Vincent. I'll seriously crap my pants if he came in my door looking for a haircut. I might be able to speak legible words, but I would never be able to keep my hands from shaking long enough for a haircut. Oh my gawd, I would just pass out. He's in the grocery store all the time. And the post office and different places.
On the other hand, my parents had two guys come in today lookign for a haircut. I was in Watertown getting my last minute supplies. I am SO going to do well in this location. I'm so excited. I just really hope Viggo doesn't come in...I dont' think I"d survive it. Okay, I'm off for the weekend. Did I mention the Sabres game? (yes, probably a FEW times!!) So, I'll be back on Monday after my first day at the shop!! :woohoo: |
 Hi Crystle!!

I have a lazy day planned...just a trip to the ceramic supply store for a few things, some throwing, and firing the kiln. I may get a haircut and while I am there, wish that I lived in Cape Vincent so Kris could cut it for me! I better go see who Georgia is playing today so BOB won't disown me... |

Howdy all. Did our grocery shopping today and got lots of fresh veggies and fruits. I'm all set for the coming week. Along with the chicken and fish I got it should be easy going, LOL. We just had beans I'd cooked over an open fire for dinner. I had froze them and thawed them today. They were sure good.

Evening! I had a busy day! I ran to the ceramic supply store and bought a bunch of stuff. I cleaned in the garagio, and then threw plates. I had 8, but messed up 2 of them trying to 'fix' them, so I only have six now. :(
THIN: Thanks for posting the pics! How is school going for you? TONI: Yes! I got your PM. I am glad you got the package. Try those bread crumbs on pork tenderloin that has been cut across the grain and beaten flat, then dipped in flour, egg, then the crumbs and sauteed until done in olive oil Oh my is it good! :) Off to get ready for bed! Night all! |
AUBURN TIGERS 20
FLA GATORS 17 NUFF SAID!!!! BOB |
Hey, BOB! The DAWGS won too! :)
|
Morning. Sitting here enjoying coffee. DH is still asleep and Jackson is curled in a blanket on my lap. Its a bit cool this morning but will warm up this afternoon. Been over to Sparks.com to the community board getting some good tips on losing weight. Today I hope to clean in the kitchen and do a little wash. We're barbecuing later. We've got a marinated pork tenderloin and I've got some butternut squash so sounds good to me. But my DH is fighting eating right so I'll have to make him a baked potato or something equal fat. Wish the tenderloin wasn't marinated I would try that yummy sounding recipe you posted Monet.
Bob- Sounds like you had a great day watching football... Monet-Are you getting the garagio about how you want it? Guess I'll head off and decide what I want for breakfast, a grilled cheese or a veggie omelet. Bye for now. |
MONET,
I know, but this was the SWEETEST ending any ballgame could have!!! CONGRATS TO THE DAWGS!!! You're coming the NEYLAND....can't wait for that game!!! BOB |
