Talking Exercise NSV

Wow - I got the okay from my physiotherapist to start running again this weekend (I've been off exercise for three weeks - boo!) so I went to the gym this morning.... I don't know what happened over the last little while, but a month ago I could do intervals of powerwalking at 3.5 mph for 3 minutes, jogging at 4.5 mph for 2 minutes, and that literally left me gasping after 25 minutes. Today I was running 8 minute stretches at 5 mph and kicking it up to 6 mph every couple minutes, and I only needed a minute of powerwalking in between to recuperate!!! It has seriously been my dream for years to not only be good at running but to enjoy it, and I had SUCH a good workout today - and that was after 30 minutes on the stairmaster. I can't wait to go for another run tomorrow!

Awsome..right now I have only been doing powerwalking at 3.7 for 3 mins then jogging at 4.9 for 3 mins but only for 20 mins. I think I need to step it up a bit but Im gasping for air when Im done. Maybe I need to take a break and see if it works for me. : )

Sounds like your break from running did your body a great deal of good. Glad you've crossed that plateau and glad you're healed enough to get back at it.
