Default A High-Steppin' NSV!

I'm so psyched because this is the first true NSV I've had since March 9th! Between then and now, nothing really note-worthy has happened to me, so I haven't posted any NSVs. But I think this is pretty notable, so here we go!

For the first time, since I started using my pedometer, I logged at least 10,000 steps a day, Monday through Friday!

That was/is my goal. 10K a Day, Monday through Friday (weekends are wildcards). For the last couple of weeks, I was able to get 4 out of 5, but not all 5. This week, I did it!

I'm most pleased because it's not something that "happened to" me; it is something I "caused" to happen!

I'm planning to make it to happen again next week!

Thanks, all! I'm really psyched about this! So psyched, I *may* even try to make it 6 out of 6 by breaking out of my comfort zone and deliberately walking on a (gasp) Saturday!!!

Today is the start of the Coast-to-Coast challenge. A group of us are cyber-walking along Route I-90, which, at 3,000+ miles, is the longest continuous highway in the US. We start today (Saturday, March 25), leaving this morning from Hopedale, Massachusetts, a picturesque little town west of Boston.

I'd love to have everyone join us! (Yes, this is a shameless plug! ) For more info, check out the Coast-to-Coast thread in Exercise!

But it's a GOOD shameless plug! I would just like to second Lena's invitation... 14 of us left Hopedale just this morning and you can still catch up to us anywhere along the path!!! It's a long walk and we need all the help we can get, even with Lena walking on Saturdays!!! So grab that cup of coffee and head on out!!!

Well, Teahoney, now is your opportunity! By the way the challenge is not just for the "high stepper walkers" but for everyone... beginners or those who hit the road often... it is not a contest but a team effort!!!

Lena, Chris said it was 11 miles to I90 and we have 12 logged so I guess we are now headed down the freeway LOL... will see tonight how much gets logged in! This is tooooooo fun!!! I am planning to redecorate my ticker at Springfield MA, LOL

Whoops! Best laid plans and all that!

Combine a dreary day with a soft, comfy bed and what do you get? A nap! I was true to my standard Saturday self, I must say! Given what time it is now, I don't think I'll even make it to 2,000 much less 10,000 today!

Ah well, it's all good! I'll just give it a go tomorrow. Supposed to dry up and get a touch warmer, so I hope I can get outside for a nice walk!

In any event, the folks did great today! And, like Misti said, it's a collaborative effort, so the more, the merrier! Every step counts! I hope you'll join in the fun, Teahoney! It's like a party that moves!

For sure, Lena! I have been amazed at how people are getting into it and all the humor and pretend, etc. What fun! FAR moreso than sitting around thinking about how hard it is to exercise and lose weight, etc.

Someone posted a quote on here recently that if you love the results, learn to love the process. 3FC.. and the challenge especially... is helping me love the process!!!
