So...my company holiday party was last Friday, and I wore a slinky new cocktail dress (fun!). There were some old friends there who I hadn't seen in a long time and really wanted to catch up with. I was trying to make my way through the crowd to get to them when I saw the husband look at me and do a confused double take. I stopped to chat with one more person along the way and then heard him say, REALLY loudly, "Oh my God! That IS Paula" He didn't recognize me.
He and his wife were very sweet, telling me how great I looked.
But...
The best part was the day after. One of my current co-workers called their house and the husband said "who knew our little Paula was such a hot babe!" (note: he's a super nice guy - it was a compliment, not anything sleazy
)
Let's be clear here - I haven't, to my knowledge, EVER been called a "babe" before. EVER...
I'm floored. Can someone check and see if the earth is still spinning on its axis?
