Okay, just had to share this...
This morning, I got up and couldn't decide what to wear to work. It's Friday, I'm the only one in the office, and I can dress as casual as I want. So I kept an old pair of khakis folded in the top of my closet, from my daughter's high school days. They're still in good shape, and the last time I went thru old clothes for donation, I grabbed them, thinking it would be good motivation. So I thought "What the heck", and tried them on. And here I sit, wearing these pants!! I think they're size 9!! AND, when I got on the scale this morning, it said 146! ONE POUND FROM MY ORIGINAL GOAL!! AND, at my measurement Wednesday at Curves, I've lost 8 inches from last month! No fad diets, no expensive diet plans, just cutting down on my fat, my portions, and calories. Tracking my food intake, choosing wisely, incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables, exercising, and most importantly, NOT BEING RESTRICTIVE. I've been determined not to turn this into a mind game, "Oh if I eat this BAD food, it's all over with" or "I must lose 50 lbs in 2 months or I'm a failure". Of course, it's day to day, because I've never maintained a weight loss before, and I'm 40 years old. But I do truly feel that my life has reached a turning point, and everything is better than it's ever been!
