a non-scale victory
Hi everyone,
I had a nice experience this weekend that I wanted to share.
I went up to Vermont for a camp reunion. I was a camper and then a counselor there with the same group of people for nearly a decade, and about 10 of us decided to meet up there for the weekend. We've all been friends since we were about 8 years old, and we're all in our 30s now.
Anyway, I have one friend who I hadn't seen in about 4 years. When I arrived, she was the first person I saw. She looked at me and did (literally) one of those Three Stooges double-takes, and said "Oh my God! You look EXACTLY how you did when we were at camp! For a second there, I thought it was 1989 again!"
Now that was very cool. But what I think is ESPECIALLY cool about this is that she then started asking me "what I was doing" to look so good. I said I'd been eating better and exercising. She looked at me again and said, "Oh my God! THAT'S what it is! You've lost so much weight! But it's not JUST that -- you look so HEALTHY and YOUNG!"
...which made me feel pretty darn good considering I'm turning 33 in a few hours!
And it made me wonder about your experiences. Has anyone ever said you looked really good/better now in ways OTHER than your weight loss? Meaning, has anyone noticed other "side effects?"
