New here!

  • Just wanted to say Hi!

I've lost 36 pounds since last August through just sensible eating, aerobic exercise and weight training. I lost the first 20 pounds last year....got off of my weight loss kick for a few months...and just recently started again in the past month.

I will say that I think weight training is the best. After months of indulging and going back to my old ways...I had just started to gain the weight back.

Unfortunately, I pulled a muscle in my back on Sunday and can't lift weights for 3 weeks. Ughh!

Just wanted to throw my little success story in and hopefully inspire others.

You CAN do it, you just have to want it bad enough!
  • Congratulations Michelle!!
Good job, I love reading about the success stories...they really help to focus me on my own goals, so thanks for sharing your news! I have just started the Atkins diet today...and am a confessed carbo-holic. I am hoping to lose 25 lbs before my wedding in July...so the determination is there!! I have never tried Atkins before and am finding it very strange and stressful as I was a borderline veggie prior to this...I am in protein overload I think!! If it will help me kick my intense sugar cravings...it will all be worth it! I will keep you posted..!

  • Way to go Michelle95. I am new, too and I lost 20 lbs through running and cutting back on sweets since last May. I hit a plateau and have had anxiety about trying to consciously lose weight. I love to run and I run 30-40 minutes 3-4 days per week, but when I think about consciously watching what I eat, it gives me flashback diet nightmare chills! I started out at 242, got down to 215, then back up to 220-222 and holding steady. Any tips on how to get over this diet anxiety that is holding me back?
  • I'm not sure I understand what you are asking me about anxiety.
