Oooh, pistachios sound sooo good! Can I have salted ones?

I play a lot of sports and when I was younger, I broke plenty of bones that way. Most of my injuries were sports-related. hehe.

Good afternoon dear friends...
Sorry I haven't had the chance to post on the daily thread lately, but.here I am...and all is going well in the Sammi camp..actually, she is right here laying on my lap right now...

Good news, my ds graduated 3s...he was in his preschool and they have 3s, 4s and 5s (for those who are too young yet for kindergarten, but go to a last year of preschool) well..my little Adam is now a 3s graduate...!!! He did that the day after Sammi's surgery...what a week!

I am back to work (unfortunately) on Monday...I have liked having the time off..even though it is with sick girl...the kids both love me being home...I wish we could be independentally wealthy..lol!!!

So, still hoping for my May goal, even though I have fallen off the wagon a couple of times this month due to emotional reasons. Yes, I will admit...I am an emotional eater...first step is admitting you have a problem, right??

Well, next Wednesday, I have to go to this "Elite Event" (yes, actually the title) for my DHs work..there are only about 5 couples invited and it is with their General Manager...it promises to be a good time..but, it is formal and I have to look like a nice trophy wife...lol!! I am going to start going tanning soon (even though I can do that outside) I can get an even tan in the beds (yes, cancer beds..but, makes the skin look good) -- Just need to get about 5 more pounds off by next Wednesday...I can do it...just stay away from beer..that is my downfall..haha!!

So, thanks again for the well wishes and prayers for my DD...will talk soon..and do replies to others..sorry about that everyone!

-Sarah-

Well I have gotten DS off to school! Poor thing tryin to keep his backpack on with just one arm. If you missed my post lastnight DS was horse playin in the hallway with another boy and he wound up being tripped and fell and it seems it has broken his erm/elbow. In the past 3 months everyone in this house has been to the ER! We are gonna be on the watch list! lol I had to wash his hair in the sink this morning for him. I told him he could take a bath and I'll wash his hair in the sink. He's to old now for Momma to be washin his hair in the shower! He broke his right arm in kindergarten at their end of the year picnic, chipped the bone in his right elbow in 6th grade, and now has broken his left arm in 9th grade. Atleast they can't blame on me it's all happened at school! lol

Laurie...No rush for June that means school will be out! lol And as far as DH helpin ...Oh Paleeeeze! His thinkin is it'll do ya good to get up and move around and all. I tried to get him to take DS to school this morning but he didn't have time...ugh yeah ok whatever! No I'm not bitter! lol Really I'm not I know how he is. lol

Ruth...What did the doc say? I have the feeling you will be about as hard to keep still as I am if you have that surgery. Take it from me...stay off of it and let it heal!

Ok I'm off to have a snack or something. I did fight off the urge to eat junk yesterday! It was gettin late when we left the ER so I stopped at Mickey D's due to DS beggin and wanted so bad to have a greasy burger but opted for a grilled chicken salad instead! WooHoo I felt like I was victorious! Then I made me come chocolate milk with cocoa. I don't know if I will do that anymore cause that cocoa is so hard to get to dissolve and those lil lumps sure are bitter! lol Oh no more storms are brewin out there. We've already had a band of them this morning and now it's startin again!

Amy, I'm sorry for your teacher. Maybe you can write her a note and explain? It can be really hard when everyone's working toward a deadline. I hope things work out. You can use chocolate chips as long as they are semi-sweet. I use dark chocolate, melt it the micro by breaking it into small chunks. I put them in a Pyrex custard cup, zap it for 30 secs on high, stir, zap again for 30, stir, etc. until melted. It hardens after it cools (though I can never wait and just put it in the fridge. ). Hope that helps!

Sassy, it's good to see you! I hope your back feels better soon...what do they think is wrong? Your Princess is growing leaps and bounds! You'll have to tell us what her weigh in is. Ours was 18 last time we were at the vet, and I think she might be 20 now! Have fun at the concert!

Sarah, your poor car! I'm so glad your sister is okay, but what a mess on top of everything else you are dealing with! I hope that it works out. Congrats on staying OP in spite of all this...I think you are amazing! Did you post that brownie recipe on the forums? I'd love to check it out. I'm so fond of beans!

Sure, Gryff, you can have salted pistachios. The fun thing about them is you can have 30! And since they are often in shells, they take longer to eat. They are the best nut snack as far as quantity and time spent eating. Just be aware of how the salt affects you and drink more water if you have to.

In case someone missed the nut section, here's what you can have (ONE of the things from the list below each day!):
  • 30 pistachios
  • 20 peanuts (actual nuts, not shells)
  • 15 almonds
  • 15 cashews
  • 15 fillberts (hazelnuts)
  • 2 Tbsp of NATURAL (just peanuts and salt for ingredients) Peanut Butter

Sarah, glad to have you back. Glad you have enjoyed time with your kiddos. Congrats to DS! Oooh, those tanning beds are horrible, girl. They did an article a while back where they had a team of skin specialist and cancer doctors evaluate four women's risk of skin cancer. The woman who had burned terribly (we're talking blisters) several times as a child had less risk than a woman who had used a tanning bed twice. That keeps me away from them...as nice as they make you look , the cancer risk is just not worth it for me. I bet you look fantastic right now, and the look of love in your DH's eyes will tell them all how special you are to him.

Hi, Go Fishin! Nice to have you with us!

Laurie,

I'm glad the homework isn't as much as you thought it might be! I'm posting the recipe in Phase 1 dessert section. My older bro can't get enough of them.

Afternoon all!

I made up with the teacher but she has some problems that can only be worked out on her own or through therapy. I apologized to her but when the bear is on a deadline don't poke the bear but at least her and I are ok.

Then I get a call that DS has hit someone in the classroom. There must be a very aggressive full moon coming or something is wacked. He and this girl have been at it for a couple of weeks. She screamed in his ear and he backhanded her. They are both being punished but because he hit - he is getting a more severe punishment. He's been taught to never hit especially since he is a black belt so I'm curious to see what he says. We are coming up on the 1 year anniversery (last day of school) when he found out that his mom and dad were getting divorced, he was moving and changing schools. He's been very emotional lately and I scheduled an appointment with my therapist for him - before he hit someone - so my timing is right on. We are going at 3pm today. Hope it helps him cope.

Why why why did I say no drinkies this weekend? I could use a doozy right now.

Amy...Be strong! No drinkies! I'm sure it was just a natural reaction for DS! Imagine if someone screams in your ear. lol Don't be toooo hard on him. I know it'll be hard especially since it was a girl but it was his ear. Hopefully the session will help. I know it has to be tough for him. It took Zack a looooong time to realize that his dad and I were not getting back together. He had this idea we were both goin to divorce our new spouse and remarry! NOT!!!!!!! Glad you and the teacher got it all worked out...maybe you should make her an appt as well! lol

Just checkin' in. Fairly good day--most of my kids are kicked out or stopped coming, so I can criuse without most major behavior problems these last couple of days. Three days left!

I must hide the scale. I must hide the scale. I must hide the scale. Scales lie! It's goes up and down and up and down and uppp...I think I'm becoming obsessive compulsive. What do I do so differently day to day? I don't think it's hormones....who knows? I'll give DH a job when he gets home tonight.

I have not cheated--even once--all week. That is an absolute first for me. And I have been tempted.....

Glad to hear that Sammi is okay, and Adia, your sister, too. That's so scary! And Bamie's DS--cast over the summer-- Marine Mom--saw the pics. Is your son at LeJune? My brother is at Bragg; we make frequent visits to Fayetteville. Weren't those storms something? Hope my DH "remembered" to take out the trash this am! Sounds like everyone is having a busy day....have fun with your assignments this weekend, Laurie.

Now the question to ponder while I'm at Curves: do I dare make those beany chocolate brownies? The lemon yogurt pie has lasted all week, so I have shown self control. But chocolate..........I could be a

Have a wonderful friday, my dears, and let's all stay OP this weekend! No drinkies, no pancakes---unless it's "Krystal" Light and Mock Pancakes!

What a crazy busy day I've had!!!!!
It has been incredible tho! I started off by getting up and heading down to the school for my weigh in! I stepped up on the scale and my DH was looking at the computer and when it beeped, he smiled..that's always a good sign! I had lost another 4 lbs...putting me past my goal of 15 lbs for the month! WOOOO HOOO!
I then had to run home and shower, and get ready to head back to the school for Senior Awards Day. My DD, Megan, didn't think she was going to end up with any scholarships of any sort, & she actually got 3!!! We're very proud of her! By the time this program was over, it was 11:30 and I still hadn't had anything to eat at all or drink...I was dying! I rushed back home, fixed my lunch and quickly ate it and then made my DH a sandwich and rushed back to the school for Jr. High Awards followed by the Talent Show! WHEW! Now I'm sitting here waiting for my DH to get home from the school so we can go back down there and work out!!!
I'll be glad when this day is over.
Well, I'm gonna go breathe for a little while...I'll talk to y'all chicks later!

I'm having an okay afternoon..the morning was kinda rough cuz i just could not wake up but i'm good now.... getting ready to head on home in about 5 mins... hate rush hour... especially this week... i live by lowe's motor speedway, and it's coming up on race week... ARGH... traffic will be unbelievable....sigh..

talk to you all later!
