Default Start over????

Is it necessary to start over if you have one slip up on Phase I and it's not producing any sugar cravings??

Hi. What was your slipup? I would say not to start over but just continue on without any more slipups.

gimme, considering your name, and the fact that slipups sometimes don't produce cravings for a day or two, yes, it's necessary to start over. I think doing Phase 1 right can really drive the rest of your time on SBD. I'd start over if I were you.

Hummm..Beachgirl is right. Phase 1 really does shape the rest of the diet for you so to do it without slipups is kinda important. The point is to NOT crave the sugar...so...I change my mind...start over

Beachgal and I agree whole heartedly. You've got to stick to it.

Keep at it, don't think of it as starting over. Think of it as starting anew. It's all about attitude with this diet.

You eat Phase One the entire time you're on this diet. After the first two weeks you don't dive into carbs, whole wheat or not, again and that was my mindset. You continue to eat the foods you ate on P1 and use the techniques you learned in P1. This diet is a process and most importantly, a true commitment.

The first time I did it I was "lazy" and looking for a way out. I thought of Phase One as a suffering time. I crossed the lines with tiny steps so many times I eventually gave up on the lines because it "wasn't working". When in reality, I was sabataging myself the whole time!

I suggest you start anew with the knowledge that by the time you get through it without cheating you'll feel great inside, have lost weight on the outside, and have something to most certainly be proud of. Not to mention we will be here for you every step of the way.

Second time around for me....Day 12 of Phase One

I fell off as well. Was in a hurry Wednesday night and the cravings came back twice as powerful. I"m starting again this weekend and dedicated to it.

The hardest adjustment is finding side dishes with dinner. I don't mind the eggs for breakfast and am getting really creative with veggies and egg white omelets. I am eating salads with lean meats for lunch, dinner is the toughest because of what the family eats. We are meat and potato types. I'm thinking of making some spagetti squash to use as "pasta" for those days. Is that allowed?

Hi Amy and welcome to The Beach. Please join us in the daily chat and also post wherever you like. This is a friendly group!

Spaghetti squash is a great idea. Lots of Chicks use cabbage as "noodles" too as pasta substitutes. Chick peas and other legunes will fill you up too and keep away that deprived feeling when the rest of the crew eat potatoes. Lentil soup is another good carb that is allowed on Phase I.
