Morning everyone!

Looks like its going to be a bit of a gloomy/rainy day here today also, but thats ok, we were fortunate and had a nice spurt of REALLY nice weather for a few days. Even got outside and cleaned up the yard a bit yesterday. The phase one detox weakness is slowly subsiding and I am totally on board...not craving stuff like I was the first 3 or so days. Except, I will say, when I purchased some glazed round donuts for son/hub...I opened the box up for son and man, it HIT me, ...but I just hurried up and put them down in 'thee' cupboard, the one I try to never look in now! but otherwise doing really well! I'm a bit bugged by some people that seem to want to rag on the SBD, I've been getting a lot of "oh thats not good for you!" "you're just going to gain it ALL back..." blah blah blah...well it certainly can't be worse than eating all the junk I had been eating and possibly GAINING!

Anyways, you guys have a great day!!

One more thing...I have recooperated (I think) from the SF reese cup fiasco from yesterday...I definitely won't be eating any of those on Saturday!!!! I am still drinking lots of water...NO SODA!!! I even had milk with dinner last night instead of soda! I did splurge this morning and had a bowl of oatmeal. I figure if that is my splurge for today, then I will still be doing well. No more carbs for today, though. I want a big salad for lunch with maybe some chicken on it. I am making fish and radish "homefries" for dinner.

Thanks again for everything!

Sunny and Mrs C., thanks for the explanation. Sounds good to me!

Ellis, pommelo is like a grapefruit but bigger and sweeter. It's the ancestor of the grapefruit. I like them better than grapefruit because they are easier to peel and taste sweeter.

Soon2B, I hope that damned thing clears up fast so you can enjoy your weekend.

Still have not cleaned out the fridge so am outta here.

Oh, so THAT'S what they're called! I bought one a month or so ago. I was intrigued by the size of the thing. They're enormous! I don't like grapefruit, but the pommelo had a nice flavour.

Sarah, you bright and early girl! Wow! I barely drag myself out of bed by 7:30 for work at 8:00, so I'm jealous! Our Lady has a snake like that...it hasn't been destroyed yet. Yesterday was gorgeous, wasn't it? So glad you got out for a walk! We took Lady for a walk and saw two adorable dogs, both out without leashes. One of them ran into the street and almost got hit by two cars...then a third clipped it. It was horrible! Thankfully, I think the little guy was okay, but he was favoring his leg while we were trying to find his owner. The owner was completely nonplussed about the whole thing. I hate it when people don't watch their dogs, especially small ones like this one was.

Welcome, Jamie! I hope you can guzzle some tea and lots of water to help your throat! I just got over a nasty cold, and I loved Ricola's Green Tea and Echinacea Sugar Free cough drops. They helped a lot!

Sil, so sorry about the allergies. Are you on meds? I'm with you on Phase 1...I already feel better with all that frankenfood on it's way out of my system! And after three days of weighing around 211.5, I'm going to change my sig! Like you, though, I haven't been planning out my snacks as well. I need to get a couple things cut up and ready in the fridge to make my life easier.

Sunny, I think it's great that you are such a good, supportive friend! : What's the new umbrella look like? Your job sounds incredible...what fun!

Rayneysmom, good to see you! Do you have any allergy meds? They really help most of the people I know to stop some of those awful symptoms. I love peonies too! They are such gorgeous flowers!

LC, you realize we are expecting pictures of those windows, right? Add that to the to-do list, please. Seriously, I'm thrilled for you and would love to see those beauties!

Soon, did the dentist work on you? I'm so glad you are feeling better! : You know, I wasn't flossing for a long time, but Suzanne (one of our 3FC founders) had a horrible procedure done on her gums a while back and it really convinced me to start flossing again.

Ruth, I'm so glad you were there for your neighbor. One of the things that really gets my goat is the lack of respect for grieving over animals. I hate it when people say, "It's just a _____" I know I love my pets as much as if not more than any kids I would have, especially because they are so helpless and so reliant on me for their health and wellbeing. Pets are so special, and we need to honor the grieving of those who have lost their treasured companions. Okay, off the :soapbox: . Have a great time in the produce department...maybe there will be some yummy spring veggies and fruits!

Jen, good luck this weekend! I hope that you'll be able to work in the community on bully prevention regardless of the outcome this weekend. It's a great cause!

Ellis, yard work sounds wonderful! What do you have planned? It is odd when the Canadian geese are not in Canada. I'll shoo ours your way. LOL about your contacts and the spit clean, Ellis...I do the same thing. I have hard contacts (not gas perm...HARD), and they do that sometimes--just pop out of your eye. Nothing like good ole spit! Thanks for asking about the pommello, I was thinking the same thing and wondering why it would be one of the last things in your house...

Me:
Well, my depression/anxiety med was cut off by the FDA because the pills were crumbling, so I went to the non time release version. Unfortunately, it's causing headaches and nausea (not enough to keep me from eating, of course... ) and not managing my issues. I guess it's back to the drawing boards, which sucks because the other one worked GREAT!!!

The weather has been beautiful. As Adia said, it was 80 degrees here, which is a ginormous heat wave! We are allowed to attend sports events at the college, so a bunch of coworkers and I went to the Lacrosse game in the afternoon. It was SO nice to be outside!

Gotta run...need to do a resume review for a student. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Ok, here is the sad thing about my umbrella. I bought it a Big Lots and it is purple and it cost me $2.99.

It is not even fancy, I just like new things...It doesn't take much to amuse me. I guess that is good. Really good for my DH.

Default New to the beach!

Hey guys! I am new to the beach! I had my 2nd child last may and did adk for a couple of months. That helped bring me down from 145 to 138. Then I stalled (darn pizza and chips ). I went carb crazy for a while and got back up to 141. Now I'm doing SB (still in phase 1) and am trying to get back into my summer cothes. My highest weight was 163 with DD2, 145 post preggers. My lowest weight was 105 (post high school) and 115 post college. My goal is 125 (allowing 10 lbs just for aging and being a mom). I may lower that if it seems obtainable, but right now I'm trying to keep from having to buy new clothes 2 sizes bigger than last years! Can I be a FC on the beach?

Adaja, welcome to the Beach! You're smart to raise your goal weight to allow for aging and being a mom.

Sunny~~What a great friend you are

Ellis~~Do I take drugs? (what a silly question) Yes,better living through chemicals (that's the nurse in me talking )

Soon~~ Happy to hear that your teeth are doing better

Ruth~~Come on down!!!!!! (and bring Ellis)

TwiceBlessed~~ Good for you on putting those pesky donuts away

Laurie~~I hope you can find a med that works well for you. Depression sucks, doesn't it!!!!!

Adaja~~Yes, of course you can join us on our beach. Pull up a towel and Ellis will send the cabanna-boy right over (just as soon as she'd done with him)

Ooh, Ruth, you make them sound delicious! Do I surmise that you peel and eat them like an orange? I've never tried it...grapefruits make my lips pucker!

Wow! I just can't get in early enough to have time to post to everyone.

Adaja - Welcome to the Beach! You probably will lost slower than many people in the beginning because you have so little to lose.

beachgal - Sorry about your meds. It seems like a lot of people have had to adjust to life without meds that were working for them.

Me - My allergies haven't been too bad. I'm out of my Allegra though and need to go back for my physical to get a refill. Everything is blooming here but my allergies are mostly mold and cats (don't tell my little kitties).

I made it to Bally's yesterday for Pain in the Butt class. He's come up with some variations that make it tougher. That's what I get for missing two classes. We did lunges yesterday with the back leg on top of a Bowflex that was on top of a bench. Next week he will have us on two Bowflex at different heights. It really works on toning the legs but it is tough!

Sil, you kills me about better living through chemistry.

Adaja, welcome!!! You'll love it here, I bet. I agree, you are super-smart to account for aging and children when calculating your goal. Mine is based on the last time I stalled. We'll see if I can make it down that far, as it's been 10 years!

Sunny, that's not sad! I love new things, even if they are just new to me! Purple is such a cheery color! I'd love one of those umbrellas they sell at the Museum store. They are all black and look like an Englishman's umbrella, but on the inside, they are a blue sky with white puffy clouds. Fun to look up and see that!

OK, the chores are done!! I even fixed dinner for tonight - souffle stuffed chicken from the cookbook - smells good! I work late tonight...so I figured I would go ahead & make dinner -easier to stay on track!!
Laurie - My teeth hurt because I had a filling come out, so I had to have that fixed. I HATE going to the dentist, so I have not been in about 2.5 years. That in combination of not flossing = red puffy gums. When they cleaned my teeth it hurt so bad!! So now I'm flossing like a good chick. (It also scores you higher on the "real age" quiz!!)
SunnyBunny - You are such a good friend!! A lot of women I know are too catty & jealous to support others. Maybe it's because they are immature...not sure
MrsCharleston: Good luck!! I'm sure you will do fine!!
Others: I must go & get ready for work, I hope everyone has a great OP day!!
