It's still cold here with snow on the ground To all the lovely ladies that can't help but mention their local spring-like temps, can I just say 'beeyatches' just kidding. The calendar says spring is just over three weeks away. YEA! The sun is out today and I heard some birds chirping and saw three robins in a tree and three little green birds in another tree and some big birdprints in the snow, so that must mean spring is around the corner.
Yesterday as I was doing my pilates exercise I was laying on the ground looking at the ceiling and suddenly I was looking at a snout and two eyeballs!! My dog had come over to see what was going on and decided it was playtime. He brought me a ball and I got really tickled and started laughing and then he tried to start licking me and I kept laughing and finally had to shoo him away. I missed a minute of the workout but thats OK. It was really funny. He's tired of winter, too!
Well, better run. Have a good day, all.

Cute dog story, A Broad. My Lucy leaps and bounds around when I do the WATP tape as she thinks it's playtime. Our pets are wonderful in that they give us "permission" to play.
Well, today has to be better than yesterday which won't be hard! I'm over my snit - I think - and am planning to do my Fair document deliveries to the schools when Jane gets here. I may have lunch in a vegetarian restaurant in one of the towns. I seem to be developing a crush on beans! Could be dangerous!
Right now I need to wake those lazy Girls for potty and breakfast and get my coffee! Jeff comes to pick up the recycle stuff so I'm going to lug it to the road and then have a lovely long bath.
I'm thinkin SPRING! lol Quick drive by. I have to get ready for my doc appt. this morning. I just hope it does not hurt tooooo bad! When it comes to injectin the joint I get a lil nervous! DH is off today so it will be busy.
Abroad... Cute story about your dog. Enjoy your day!
Ruth...Glad to hear your snit is behind you! lol Becareful outside! I hope you enjoy your day as well!
To the rest of you chickies yet to peck in...Hello! Have a great day!
"a snout and two eyeballs..." Too cute, A broad.
Yes, spring must be coming, because I just found an icky house fly in the attic. blah!
Ruth, enjoy your bath... and take care of that knee, sweetie.
Bamie, I hope your doc appointment goes well. I'm sorry it hurts, hon.
Kissy, I meant to tell you, I love your kitchen cabinet choice! They're beautiful!!
I'm a little disappointed... I'd found a red melamine paint which seemed to match almost exactly to our new cabinets. I'm using it to paint a set of big old wooden cabinets over the sink. They're open (I took the doors off years ago... I like the "open look"), and it's really a nice, sturdy old piece. Anyhow, now that I've started painting with the red, it doesn't match the new cabinets perfectly! crap. I just hope that once I get stuff back on the shelves, it'll detract from the fact that it's not a perfect match. crap.
I'm having breakfast with a friend today. It's that darned TOM. I could have sworn I just had it last week. My entire life revolves around it.
Ellis ~ TOM huh? I don't have that problem anymore. However I would not recommend my way to avoid it. I had a hysterectomy in Nov. 2001. Feel much better - but at 34 - hot flashing like I'm standing at the gates of ****
Ruth ~ Be careful in all that snow hon. Maybe spring will be there soon.
Broad ~ Sorry you don't take to kindly to our early springlike temps and flowers. Maybe you should consider a geographic change rather than showering us Southerners with profanity Whatcha think Bamie & Chipper?? Need some southern back up here.
Well, better jet - we are bidding (5) jobs toady here at the office and the fax machine has gotten good and cranked up. Another day runnin' my hiney parts off.
Hope you all have a great day - oh and BTW Broad - it is very cold and rainey here today - if that makes you feel any better.
Rainy and cooler here today too. Should get up to 49 later. The good news is that the rain should be gone by the weekend. The Cub Scouts are doing a tree plant this weekend and that just won't be a lot of fun if it rains.
I am so furious this morning. We are getting ready to move our office at work. We don't move until April 2nd but we have a lot accumlated over 20 years so we are starting already. Yesterday we spent a LOT of time sorting papers into the recycling bins since we know the huge bins they gave us will just be thrown in the trash. I come in this morning to find that the cleaning people have emptied them into the trash bins instead of taking them for recycling! We are talking a LOT of paper. Why should it be thrown away? We are saving out empty binders and giving them to a local school district at least. I hate to see waste!
Had a slow day yesterday but busy busy at the restaurant last night so was thankful for that. I will be there again tonight so hoping we're busy again. I know the youngin's there are hoping we are not. My agenda for today..NOT MUCH! I am dying to go for a walk outside, but, alas, our cold temps have returned...SIGH! Is it Spring yet?? I signed up to do the Walk Across America (I think that's what it's called). So I will HAVE to walk when that starts. At this point, anything to get me motivated to exercise. I did order some Pilates DVD's and I am on the waiting list for the Carmen Electra Striptease workout videos. Wont' that be fun?? HAHA
A-broad: Love the dog story. Can't they be great & pains at the same time??
Ruth: Hope today is MUCH better than yesterday!
Bamie: I hope the injection doesn't hurt too bad. I hope it helps you to feel better!
Ellis: I sympathize with you and TOM. I am expecting TOM anyday now. SIGH.
Raynesmom: Busy morning for you already, GL with the bids!!
We got that WONDERFUL snow that sticks to everything....it's just beautiful!: I let Dixiedawg out, and she did her usual "snow"...she just loves it!! (THANKS, Ruth I know you sent it to us!) And me, I just let the flakes stick to my eyelashes...just cause I have'm again!!!
Love doggie stories too.....those four-legged guys are so precious!!!!
Rayneysmom: If you're at just the GATES, I must be WAY DOWNUNDER! Someone told me that regular menopause is like a minor fender-bender.....chemo induced menopause is like going 70mph and hitting a brick wall!!! We must be at the same place.......and freezing our hubbys!!!
Speaking of hubby's, mine today decided to get up 1st (must be that snow ) He made the , very good.....then came breakfast....EGGS a-la-explosion in the microwave only to be served with cold bread and "roasted bananas in the skin" don't know how he did that one!!!
Oh my gosh....wonder what's in my lunch bag from him?????????
Work awaits....geting back into the swing of things after being off most of the past year....is killing me!!!!
My BEST to EVERYONE....drink your water and stay OP!!!
My back is feeling a bit better this am. Yesterday I went home and took big IBU's and did the 15 min with a cold pack and then 15 min with a hot pack and it seemed to loosen the back up pretty good. I have some tight spots but I was able to loosen the lower back by pulling my knees to my chest a couple of times and the neck loosened up after the cold/hot packs - now the middle is tight but it is a lot better than I thought it would be. I went to wally mart this am and bought a cold/hot pack for work so I could keep it up all day. No throwing sand today When we drive to Florida every year we have a contest to see who can see the first buds on trees along the highway. Ususally somewhere around Kentucky/Tennessee.
DS felt so sorry for me he turned my bed down last night and tucked me in with my hot pack and wrote me note that said he loved me with a crooked heart drawn on it. Aren't kids great. Then I'm sure he gave my DF/DM a run for the money when it came time to give him a shower and brush his braces
I've completely forgotton to weigh in this week so I'm going to have to do Friday AM. Friday night is the "Great Food and Wine Symposium to raise money for PBS. Whoo hoo! Unfortunately I know that it will be difficult to stay OP with 30 tables of Gourmet food but I'm going to give it my best shot. I'm seriously considering a full blown two week Phase I redo before I go to Florida. My discipline has been lacking lately. We'll see if I can back into the swing of things with exercise and my sugar cravings are gone now that TOM is winding down.
Well, after being on the MIA list for the past week, it was enjoyable to catch up on the posts! You all sounds like a herd of chickies!
We had a great time in SC and it was great to see our kids. Our military son seemed so grown up! He's now at Fort Lee in Virginia for about 3 months. Our grandsons are absolutely darling! We can't get enough of them.
Happy to say that I was so good on this trip. I was a little nervous that I would lose control but I didn't. I did eat the pretzels on the plane, I was starving on the way home. Weight stayed the same all week, but that's ok.
When we left there were flowers, green grass and leaves on trees......we flew home to 10 inches of snow..........blech. I'm ready for spring!!!!!
Well, I'm in the ER today, things are quiet so far.
Bami - I think I'm OK! Good thing I got a fat butt to cushion the blow. How many supermodels can say that huh? Thanks for the kind words.
Ruth - I have a broken patella that I've had for 19 years in my knee. They told me it would be better to keep my natural bone as long as I could possibly stand it because the patella replacement surgery only lasts for approx 10 years and then you need another one! What the??????? They can go in every couple of years and take out the scar tissue but I've never had that done. Good luck and I'll say a prayer for you.
Talking about winter and it snow. We're going to get hit tonight into tomorrow morning. ughhhhhhhhhh!
I hurt my back yesterday tiring to get out of the bed!!! Now I won't be able to exercise for quit some time. as I was doing so well upping my workout from 60 mins to 90 mins per day.
ABoard my kitty cat use to do that also. She was so cute. I really miss her, especially when doing floor exercisies.
Ruth Take care of your knee,You & I both are bean lovers Had a tummy ache the other day eating lentils as a veggie.
Anchor Sorry about your back.I know the feeling. I'm tied up also get get around. Doctor told me I have artiritis in my lower back.
Hello to all I havent posted to. I have to get back to my heating pad on the sofa.
I hope that everyone is doing well! I am of to classes and after sitting for five -six hours will go to water aerobics this evening!! I have been intensifying the workouts, but am still on a plateau , I know, muscle weighs more....but it would be nice to see the scale move......
For all of you (but especially Sweet Tooth) I actually just got offered a job "babysitting" a sixteen year-old! Kind of funny that this would come up after joking about it...one of my professors wants me to move in for a weekend when she will be away to "keep tabs" on her son...I'll keep you posted, but it could be kind of stressful!!!
Beachbum: I hope your back feels better! It's hard to have physically setbacks when your mind is still set on the goal! I don't know if I told you this, but I'm originally from Brockton, MA (my family is still there) and spent many summers on the Cape...the ocean is beautiful, and I really miss it (but not the snow!), I moved to Missouri and feel quite land-locked at times! It's kind of hard to explain, but there is a difference!
I hope everyone else with aches and injuries recovers quickly!!
Peace-
