I'm back from vacation and only gained 1 pound....yay! BUT, must get back to the exercise. I will start the post vacation exercise with 35 minute power walk each day...from today on. Good luck to everyone on completing their own goals for this month.

August 3 - 35 minute power walk
August 4 - 35 minute power walk
August 5 - Counting the number of stairs today (13 flights) and 35 minute power walk
August 6 - 9 flights of stairs - both up and down (20 minutes)
August 9 - 35 minute power walk
August 10 - 35 minute power walk
August 11 - 35 minute power walk
August 12 - 35 minute power walk (even got a co-worker to come - does that count for anything?)
August 13 - 40 minute power walk
August 15 - 2 hour walk with the dog pulling me along
August 16 - 35 minute power walk
August 17 - 45 minute power walk (gonna kick it up to 60 minutes tomorrow)
August 18 - 80 minute power walk (kicked it up, but made a mistake with the tape and did an extra 10 minutes over what I intended)
1.5 hours of gardening
August 19 - 71 minute power walk
August 20 - 70 minute power walk
August 23 - 74 minute power walk
August 24 - 75 minute power walk
August 25 - 70 minute power walk
August 26 - alas but nothing
August 27 - 76 minute power walk
August 28 - 40 minute dog walk
August 30 - nada (forgot workout clothes at home)
August 31 - 72 minute power walk
__________________________
Total to Date: 1223 minutes

Summary: This is the most consistent that I have ever been with cardiovascular exercise as an adult. I have done strength and flexability exercise on a regular basis before, but have never focused on cardiovascular. I agreed to power walk for 30 minutes each day that I worked in the month of August. I missed two of those days, but did double my time com.itment halfway through the month and also threw a couple of walks in on weekends. All in all, I am amazed that I met as much of my commitment as I did.

Aug 6 - Took a tiny walk today - just 10-15 minutes. I am still hurting too badly to last much longer than that. I'll try it again tomorrow.
Aug 7 - no official walk but spent mpst of the day on my feet cooking. The knee is improving too darn slowly.
Aug 8 - did some gardening - weed pulling
Aug 9 - did some walking with Lucy practicing show handling. I also will walk the Village doing weeding withmy knee thingie on

Ok, I'll join too! I do my dangedest to get to the gym every day even if I only stay for 15-20 minutes at least I go, right? So I officially start August 9th which leaves 22 days left -- I think, oh Lord I hope my math skills aren't fading! So if I commit to 22 days of 20 minutes, that's 440 minutes so I'll round it up to a committment of 450 minutes for the rest of the month.

Kristin

August 9 -- 25 minutes Cardio
August 10-16 -- lazy bum
August 17 -- 45 weight training, 45 minutes Cardio

_________
115 total

Take a look at some of the posts with dates listed. I log in every time I exercise and edit my post. I add a line with the total exercise time for the day. I also like to keep a running total for the month but that is optional. Good luck with your exercise.

Jump right in, Islander!
Just use one post for your exercise, and edit it as you use it.

Barbara and Ellis, thank you. I'll start doing that, I need to do something that will help keep me motivated to do my exercise. I think this will.

Have a great day!
