Question Question about vacation splurging

I'm brand-new, and I'm just wondering about something... I'm taking a trip to Vegas in June and I know that I'll be having a splurge or two (or three) while I'm there. Is it okay to go back to Phase 1 once I return home to make up for the damage I caused?

TIA!!

I am going home for memorial day. So, I know I HAVE to have my friend's potato salad with my burger [no bun!] and real ketchup.

I stayed on Phase one for an extra week or so [until I go home Wed]. I haven't really cheated [consiously] yet so I guess I am saving my splurge for then. But I still want to make smart choices and eat well when I can. I don't want to use my vacation as an excuse to eat the way I used to!

Have fun in Vegas! Win me some money so I can pay my grocery bill!

Absolutely, Barbie! Try not to "lose it" too badly with the food, but enjoy yourself and start afresh when you get back!

In the book, Dr. A mentions that you can go back to Phase 1 whenever you feel you need. Enjoy Vegas!

Thanks so much! I already plan to not completely overdo it, but I have to say that buffet desserts are already calling my name! I don't want to completely sabotage all the progress I've already made though, so I will only be a little bad!

Well, I'll be in New Orleans for a whole week next month. THAT should be a real challenge. I booked a place that has a full kitchen so I can have some good breakfast and snacks. I am determined to stay on the program. I will have to make my own desserts. That way I can avoid temptation!

Your question is a good one! I will also be going away and right now the wt. for me is at a low pt. I haven't reached in years. I'm going to try to eat healthy and make good choices in the next few days to prepare for my upcoming vacation weekend in Maine. I am told the reception will have grilled foods, and seafood of course that will help. I may also have to go back to phase 1 for a week or two when I return. Your not alone!
Good luck to you!
