  • So, I know Ruth is right about the GF,GC book saying to avoid all crackers except 100% stone ground wheat ones (which are limited). This even includes crispbread, rye. I am really confused by this!!! I have Wasa crackers at home, and their ingredients are simply "Rye flour (wholemeal), rye flour (sifted), water, yeast, and salt". I have another variety as well, but can't find that on their website and didn't write the ingredients down at home. I believe it has whole wheat and rye flour. Considering that there are absolutely no sources of any transfats, I am totally bewildered as to why we should avoid these. Can anyone shed some light on this?
  • Is it possible that Dr Agatson is wrong? Maybe he didn't check out all the crackers? I think Wasa should be allowed. Shhhh!
  • Ruth, You are so right! I agree...they ought to be part of SBD!
  • Oh, yeah... those Wasa things are FINE!
  • Ellis, you always make me laugh. Thanks!

Honestly, I rather like them, but I cannot see myself going on a Wasa binge like I might with Triscuits (which are fab!). So I just don't see what makes them a bad choice. Wonder how much fiber they have...2 grams, it appears. Not bad...especially for one cracker (which is the serving size). Here's the US website in case you want to check out the products.

I have the Hearty Rye and the Multi Grain. The Hearty Rye is really good!
