Default Weekend Chat - May 15 and 16

It's dull and rainy and still very warm in here this morning. I intend to have coffee out on the deck if the mosquitos aren't too bad.

Mamacita, I'm really glad you had a good sleep. I can't imagine anything worse than a tired and crabby vampire sucking my blood!

Ellis, try to remember what you wanted to say, Was it a brain fart?

RNMOM, a 14 hour shift? I don't know how you do it. Did you kill anyone? Good control on the pizza picking!

Nascargirl, welcome back. Yes, that operation does hurt. Take your pain pills and get as much rest as possible. My doc pal says we heal best when asleep.

Jenne - too funny! You just got an extra year. I hope your semi-date was fun. I have not gone dancing in years!

I'm off to the Greenhouse this morning but need to wash something to wear before then. I like to start out looking clean! I expect we will be very busy this weekend again. Lorraine tells me that last weekend was the best they've had since the business opened! It was very cold too but today feels like summer so the plantaholics will be out in full force. Later today I may put in some veggie seeds as that part of the garden is all tilled and smooth now. I'm actually ahead, thanks to Sarah, who now had two other people who want her for yard work!

Coffee coming up. What are your plans for the weekend?

Ruth, next time you get a cold, get Buckley's capsules. It's a flat, 24 pack, with 18 day time capsules and 6 night time. They're amazing. They completely mask your cold systems. You forget you have one until it's time for another capsule. And the night time ones knock you right out. (I can't even imagine what would happen if you took the wrong one at the wrong time...)
That wasn't what I was going to say.
You should have seen the smog here yesterday. Woof! I just took my clothes off the line. It doesn't feel good out there. We're in for a very bad summer. I'm seriously thinking of picking up an A/C for the attic. I'm damned if I'm going to spend the summer sleeping in the basement. (no win situation. The A/C contributes to the pollution, and the pollution is making us hot... I'll use it responsibly)
I'm going to the gym. First time this week. Feeling a bit icky... must be time for another Buckley's.

RNMom, 14 hours is CRAZY! How do you do it!?!?

Mamacita, how are you feeling this morning? Did you get another good nights sleep?

Welcome back, Nascargirl!

Jenne, did you have fun last night?

Okay. I'm going. To the gym. Don't try and stop me.
I can't wait to get home and have coffee. Hey, I'm on day four of South Beach! Screwed up a little yesterday. Didn't have lunch, but made up for it with about seven sugar-free popsicles. (I know, I know, Ruth. Frankenfoods.)

Have a wonderful day, everyone! Try not to drive, because the air quality is REALLY smutty, and we're all having a hard time breathing.

Hey everybody!! Just got back from Lowes, Walmart, and Wegmans. Had to go super early since there's a bike race today that follows about 20 miles of my route home. Wanted every plant I examined, but limited myself to pansies and portulaca for the new beds.

It sounds as though a lot of you are suffering from one malady or another. I hope you all feel better soon.

I've got to go and try to get the plants in before the rain starts.................Jo

Default Hi everyone

Sounds like your weekends are shaping up to be really boring....NOT!

14 hours....lets see, no I didn't kill anyone-but there were a few I wanted to hurt...oh, I forget, I stuck needles in them, so I did get to hurt them.

I rode my bike downtown with my dd to see a little parade our town was having for the servicemen in our community, finished my housework, now I'm going for my walk/run.

I hpe everyone gets a little bit of sunshine and just the right amount of rain. Remember, you don't learn anything on the easy days. (philisophical thought)

(another philisophical thought: if you want to get something done, you ask a busy person to do it) OK, no brain cells left, used them up on those two thought.

Have a great OP weekend!

morning everyone (ok, it's 11 am here in CA. that's still morning on a saturday!)

so, i decided i wanted to start eating on the beach TODAY. not this afternoon or tomorrow or whatever. only problem is, i hadn't been grocery shopping and the past 2 days had been on a fast. SO, most of the things in my house were non-perishables like cereal/pasta/etc. i forraged for breakfast and here's what i came up with:

1 cup steamed broccoli
2 slices bacon.

heh. it works, but it sure was an odd breakfast. so right now i am checking out some of the recipes and compliling the shopping list, and i will be heading to the store shortly.

i think today i might play some DDR with my sweetie. i also am going to go to the YMCA - i have to do physical therapy for my knee 3x a week. it's pre-op therapy right now, i have to get it really strong before i have my ACL tear repaired in august. then i will have plenty of post-op therapy to do as well!

have a great saturday everyone! looking forward to getting to know you guys!

Afternoon chickies taught my last dance class today....it was a wee bit sad. It amazes me how the children have progressed over the year and that is do to me and my teachers in training. The show is next Friday night and Saturday night. That will be nerve racking. Then it will be over til next year. I will be teaching again. I really like teaching. I have been pretty much OP since I started back on program except I did have a wee piece of cake again today as we had a cake for my 5 year olds. The sun is trying very hard to come out but it is very chilly. I think I will head off to the garden center and get some plants to plant tomorrow as it is going to hot and sunny. I also want to go to the hardware store and get some paint samples for my bedroom. I really can't decided which color I want.Well I must go everyone have a good day I will check in again later.

Oops welcome back to Nascar and welcome to all the newbies.

Whew! What a day! We've already had a thunderstorm, but now the sun is shining again and it's hot and steamy. DH and I spent all morning (and up til about an hour ago) planting impatiens and mulching. We finally got rid of that huge pile that's been sitting on our driveway for 2 weeks. I made up some pretty arrangements in some of my pots, too. A lot of work, but everything looks so nice! Relaxing now, but son and family justed pulled in, so I'll probably end up feeding them supper!
Tomorrow is my granddaughter in NJ confirmation, so a whole caravan is following us over for the service, and then dinner afterwards. I plan to stay OP, hope my willpower is strong!
Well, they're calling me so I'd better go for now!

Hi hi Hi!

I am alive. And doing really well! The date....hmmm. Well she called at around 10 saying she was just getting in from interviewing a potential roommate. We decided to forgo the dancing [Ruth -- I haven't been in years either! My ex NEVER danced] and she came over to watch a movie.

It was a late night [early morning?] as she was here until 2:30A. I realized I didn't like her as much as I thought -- she younger [and I have a bad track record with that] plus she's a bit less femmy than I like. Anyway, we'll make for great friends I think.

I got up at 10A, made breakfast [scrabled eggs with spinach, red peppers and asparagus -- I forgot I had mushrooms!] and then went back to bed. But I needed it. I got up at 4!!!, went to the gym and made the yummiest dinner ever! I am going to post the recipe before I forget it.

Tonight it's off to a party. With the same people I used to drink into oblivian with before SB. I am going to try not drinking, and stopping at 7-11 on the way and pick up 2 bottles of diet coke. I am hoping to have the will power I've had all week to not mess this us [I got on the scale today and am down to 201].

Will let you know tomorrow!

Have a great weekend all!

just checking in, as i've completed day 1. it went well, i ended up not eatin glunch but still having the 2 snacks because of my late start on the day. i was only really hungry before snack #2. we made a chicken ceasar salad for dinner - the dressing from scratch! it was quite yummy.

i did get a little indegestion/runs at the end of the day. did anyone else get this? i'm guessing because i ate more fat (albeit good fats) today than i usually do when i calorie count. any other guesses?

hello!
My weekend's pretty dull. I am pretty jittery or dizzy I guess I could say. But it's not really dizziness, maybe numbness? I dunno, I guess my body's finally realizing I don't have all these bad foods in me , hehe. All it is doing is raining over here lately!

Hey girls!

Holly and Daisy, I'd say your body is just reacting to the changes. Hang in there.

Jenne, you're so close!!

Cottage, have a wonderful time at your granddaughter's confirmation.

Little Chick, I'll bet you're a wonderful teacher.
Please pick me up some hot pink trailing petunias. And a little of that ivy stuff.

Must get coffee... love to all of you...

Got a late start yesterday. Slept till 11AM. (I needed it!) Spent most of the day running errands and taking care of furry siblings. My husband and I are going to try to get a boxer from a rescue in our area. Keep your fingers crossed for us. (We already have a zoo!).

Today is the first day of Phase II for me. I've lost 6 pounds so far. I plan on having a bowl of Uncle Sams with Equal for breakfast. I hope it tastes good. I wish I'd discovered this WOE a long time ago. I'm not nearly as hungry as I used to be.

Anyway, my day today consists of going to church this morning, coming home and taking a nap (A Sunday tradition) and then doing it again this afternoon. High aspirations, huh?

Good day to all and good luck to the new people that have started SBD. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
