I just bought the SBD book and was thinking of giving this a try. The only other weight loss program I've ever really tried was Weight Watchers with some limited success. When at my doctor last time, I questioned him about the Atikins diet which he said people found difficult to stick with for any length of time. The next one he mentioned was the SBD which he said was somewhat better than Atikins. Just wondering if anyone is finding it difficult to stick to this program?
I am not the best one to answer as I had fallen off the wagon.... But I did do Atkins for a bit and could not stick to it. I do like SBD much better, and it is much easier to follow. Good luck and welcome to the Beach.
I am having absolutely no problem at all sticking to sbd its soo easy and a total no brainer!! I love it, my only problem is I have a really hard time getting above 1000 calories for a day. Good luck to you.

Jeannie, this is the most sensible, intuitive lifestyle program I've ever experienced. My whole family is South Beach -- every night is South Beach Gourmet Night! No one's hungry, we're all getting slim and healthy. Welcome to the healthiest place on earth!
It is very flexible and because you eat snacks and so many vegies you don't feel hungry. Eating out can be a little tricky but there more and more restaurants are offering healthy choices. The best part is that you stop craving sweet food so break your old 'bad' eating habits.
I think I have tried every "diet" plan out there and I have always lost weight, only to "go off" the plan and gain every stinking pound back, plus some.
SB is the only plan I have been on that has been easy. I don't have cravings, I can pass up sweets and bad carbs without a problem. And after four months on the plan I can actually see myself eating this way forever. It is actually an eating plan for life.....a first for me. Give it a try, you'll love it.
I too have tried every diet out there and even some of them twice. This has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm down 45 pounds! After the first week was over it has been easy. I was a sugar addict and this has been so do-able.
