Good Mornin chickies! It's 61 and climbin up to 75 today.

Yea Ruth!

Congrats dyna on the good news!

Gavinsmom that's pretty cool. It will take laser surgery for me to not wear my specs. Which hopefully doc will approve this year. Now if I can get dh on board. A guy he works with had it and has had to go back several times and so he does not want me to have it now. UGH!

Clovey.. Weird? hum I didn't want to say anything but now that the cat is outta the bag! hahahahaha

Ellis I come in here when I get up most of the time cause if I start watchin tv I'll go right back to sleep. Especially after the kids leave. If I know I want to go back to sleep I'll usually just watch tv on the couch.

Sil more gardenin today?

Ok ladies (and gents) another OP day for us all!

Clovey, just use round band-aids. Corn plasters work well but be sure to get the non-medicated ones or your nipples will fall off! on the other hand, that would solve the problem somewhat!

The only plasters I have in the house are Harry Potter motif-ed. But maybe if I could find a Snape/Alan Rickman one it would be ok..........

Must be a full moon today! You people are just too funny!

Day two of Phase I. Trying to stay OP but family is not co-operating--they want carbs! I tried to pick out the rice from my chicken and rice meal, but I am afraid a few little grains were consumed along with my skinless chicken.

Now they want spaghetti! Oh no, what to do??

My goodness, page two so early today!!!

Hey everyone!!!! Thanks for the congrats AND congrats to all of you for a good week so far! Way to go with the old clothes, Ruth! I know what you mean...it's nice when things fit. I went yesterday (the day before?) to try on pants and I can actually fit into a size 10, which hasn't happened since jr high, I think.

Clovey: You are definitely not weird! You are just beating your own drum, and good for you... The quinoa was fine in terms of cravings for me. I found this blurb about it:

QUINOA

Quinoa is a member of the goosefoot family, and yields a supergrain. It is native to the Andes, and was a staple of the Incas (who called it the ‘mother grain’). One cup has more calcium and protein than a quart of milk. Ounce for ounce it has as much protein as meat, contains all of the essential amino acids, and has high amounts of iron and calcium. All in all, it comes closer than any other food in supplying all of the nutrients needed for life.

***

I have found that I actually am less hungry and do better when I can incorporate some carbs, but that when I eat things like potatoes (which I did this weekend past at a family function) I can't stop. But if I eat the whole grains, I am able to be more satisfied and have less of an urge to overeat them. Except for pasta. I could eat my weight in the whole wheat pasta (so thank goodness my weight is shrinking!)

Otherwise, busy day ahead, no rest for the weary lawyer.

Check in later...

Thanks again really for all your support. Now if I can just get through the mammogram unscathed, well, I'll be unscathed. Go being a woman!

Lou lou - make them spagetti and you just have the sauce.

Spagetti is horrid anyway, all that wheat puffing you up like a sugar puff, and all that slurpy mess. Nah, you can do without it.

Make them spagetti, and have the sauce for you. You will be fine.

You can do this.

Loulou - spaghetti squash! Or zucchini cut into strips with a peeler and steamed.
And yes there will be a full moon this weekend so us nutcases are coming out of the woodwork!

What a nice way to wake up! I was all crabby getting out of bed but now Im crying from laughing!

Ruth- pedometers are the best. Most of my recent jobs have been waitressing and bartending and since I live downtown, I walk everywhere. It was always rewarding to notice that on a day I didn't hit the gym, I could still walk 6 miles. Thats the one fitness gadget that I can plug until I'm blue in the face.

I bought a new pilates DVD yesterday and have to try it out today. I ordered some ballet ones from Amazon so they won't be here till monday or so. I go through such phases with working out. A month straight I won't do anything but videos then all of a sudden I'm sick of them and I just go to the gym. Now if I could only do both videos and the gym everyday I'd be just fine!

Have a great day everyone, its coffee time.

welcome c-handla! You guys are so funny I really missed out in the bantering by not showing up until now! I keep hearing people talk about spagetti squash what the heck is it and how do you prepare it?
Ruth congrats on the sqeezing into a 14. Now that you can fit into a 16 you don't have to only shop at fat people stores! Hooray! I'll be happy when I don't have to only shop at fat people stores, I am feeling thinner the last couple of days and I get weighed and measured on Mon so we'll see if I've gotten any closer!
Clovey, I don't think you're wierd I think you're cool! Get a nude colored tank to go under it, hahaha that would be funny.People would sure do a double take!
Thanks for the info on Quinoa Dynnagrl, I think I'll have to try some.
LouLou I would make them their spagetti and make yourself a nice big chix breast and you can put spaghetti sauce and mozzarella on it. Mmmmm. Or you can do the zuchini strips(ooohh maybe even with it) or that spagetti squash thing(even though I am not sure what that is!)
Traci, congrats on the eyesight improving and getting your sugar under better control. I have a friend who is a type 1 she has a lot of problems with ketones(sp?) and says she can't do a lower carb diet. I don't understand it.

Dr. Agaston says tassels will solve your problem, clovey. It's on page 85 of the book.
