Exclamation Friday Chat...anyone out there

It is Friday and I am worried about the weekend. I don't have any plans except company tonight and The dinner planned is Chicken and Salad so I should do alright if I stay on track. I just have to take one day at a time.

I am really trying to lose a couple of pounds to reach my new goal but it is taking a lot longer than I thought it would. I started eatting low carb ice cream and it seemed to stall my weight loss. Anyone have the same thing happen. Now I have a freezer full of ice cream and I don't want to eat it or throw it away. Maybe my daughter will eat it.

I also saw a commerical for Bacardi Rum and it said it had no carbs and only 66 calories. Is this legal? I'm ready to go buy some but I don't want to be in the ice cream situation again.

Have a great day!!!

Good morning and welcome to the Beach.

Low carb products are pretty sneaky and sure do cause stalls in weightloss so your DD will have to eat the ice cream. Alcohol is not allowed on the South Beach diet except for red wine on Phase II.

Hey where are the rest of the sleepy Beach Beauties? I've been cruising the Boards and it looks as if the whole coop is asleep.

I'm off to get some coffee and check out the Doggage. I'll be back later unless Heddy shows early.

I have recently restarted the SBD I maintained my 11 pound wieght loss. I have a glass of Shiraz with my dinner and so far it has not hurt. I have not had too much low Carb products besidesa low carb whole wheat bread and Atkins cereal ( good, but a little too sweet for my liking). I find that phase two works for me if I have one small serving of a rice, pasta or bread daily. the days I have more than that I do not feels as energized. I get that 3 oclock slump.

Morning chickies I really wasn't a sleepy head this morning just trying to get caught up on some household chores. I done nothing all week. So Ellis your kick in the butt worked. I am back on track this morning and other than this cold I am feeling more like myself. I of course have a to do list a mile long. Which I really need to get completed today. Things that I have put off to long. Well I must go put the tea pot on. Check in later.

Thanks for letting me know about the wine. I guess I forget the alcohol rule. Red wine will be fine. It is funny how you want things you never really wanted before just because you want to avoid them now. Well I weighed and I am stalled again. This is the pits. Somehow I am holding out till tomorrow. I've got to get over this hump. It is so discouraging. I know sooner or latter it will drop I just am hoping for sooner.

Mornin!

It's a cloudy day today and I thought it was suppose to be nice. I knew it was going to rain tonight, but that's tonight. Tomorrow and Sunday it should be in the 50s so hubby and I will be doing some things around the house; just to get some fresh air

I have been watching my carbs too, but like Ruth said I think a lot of those low carb ice creams and candy bars put a stall on the weight loss....prolly cause we think that just because it's low carbs means we can eat as much as we want, but we really can't.

Hope everyone has a great day and weekend!

Good morning, girls!!

Little Chick, are you in the middle of a big storm? I was reading the news last night... looks dreadful out there.

Ruth, it's BEAUTIFUL out!!!
Bamie, a faking sick kid. Mine try it almost every morning.

Hey, we've got a renter!! The single woman has taken it! She's SO nice. (knock on wood)
I told the pregnant couple that I was really worried about them using the stairs. She could fall while she's pregnant, or they could fall with the baby. The thought scares the heck out of me.

I've got about 40 loads of laundry to do... back later...

Exclamation Went for a 30 min walk

undefinedHey Out there. I decided to get off my duff and walk the dog for 1/2 hour. The weather was sunny but a little cold not to bad in comparison of the last few weeks. I learned in Prevention Magizine that moderate walking is the best excercise. My dog Benji really liked it.

I'm over the ice cream now...my dd can have it all. I tell you the fresh air really does something for in a way of an attitude adjustment. I'm setting a goal of 3 lbs down by 3/1. Yippie, I'm on my way. Have a great day!

Ellis it is beautiful and sunny here today. Although yesterday was not so nice. We did not get it near as bad as Nova Scotia they had something like 73 cent of snow. We only had 15/20 and lots of wind. It all over thank goodness. You have a laundry monster at your house as well. My laundry basket has no bottom. I would love to find the monster who keeps my basket full.

Mornin' SBD-ers! WELL! Everyone's got quite the busy day again. Don't we always?

This morning, the window people were supposed to come and put two new windows in the front of our house. Jorge took his first day off in YEARS (such a workaholic, that boy... too bad it's not infectious!) They were supposed to arrive between 9-10. Well, at 8:15 or so, they called and said the lead installer had a family emergency. Now we have to wait until March when Jorge can free up another day to take off. Mind you, I'M not allowed to, I won't make sure it's done right, etc. pa-leeez! Oh, well. The only bummer is that I couldn't bring my dog to work today because I didn't have the excuse of the window folk coming...

Last night at the Caps game, we cheated.. I got chix salad on the way home so we could be good. Jorge went "to the bathroom" and was on his way back with Peanut when I saw him wolfing down a hot dog WITH BREAD!!! For shame... But he has to clean the bathroom this weekend as a result. Back OP today, that's for sure! At least when we fall off, we hop right back on, which hasn't been the case with other plans we've followed. (Jorge has about 10 pounds to lose, I have about 100!)

Enough of my yammering on. I hope EVERYONE has a wonderful, cheery, *SHORT* Friday!! (I only mean short in the best way possible, that is, I want to leave work early today!) Tootaloo, chickies!

PS Ellis- It's up to $222 Million!!

Morning Ladies! Just a quick post and I'm off to the gym! I got weighed and measured yesterday at the gym. After 10 days I've lost 3 lbs and 10 & 1/4 inches! Hooray! I am gonna go take a stretch and tone class this morning and then hop on the treadmill! The exercise is good for me because I like to indulge in things like the blue bunny ice cream bars, etc. Mmmmm! It makes me feel like I'm not on a diet. I only do that about every 3 days though. Last night I made SF/FF Jell-o Pistachio Pudding. It was yummy!

Default Rather than lurk much, I'll just jump in!

Thank y'all for the welcome.
I've been hearing about glycemic indices for almost 2 years... and FINALLY I believe it. Guess it's time to get the book. (Have SBD, but get the ratings guide)... probably don't actually NEED it in phase I, but I love the idea of having lots of variety even if not much "white cr*p" i.e., sugar and flour!

Bird feeders are calling. I probably can't check in EVERY day, but I'll try to do so to get to know those of you I haven't met through the journals.
