Default It's Working!!

This is the end of my first week and I'm soooo happy! Down 5 pounds and feeling energized and very much in control. I am amazed how the cravings are disappearing and I don't find myself mindlessly staring into the fridge 100 times a day like I used to!! Initially I was concerned about the limited food choice during Phase 1 of South Beach, but I am becoming more creative and it seems there is more variety than I thought. Just got home from the grocery store and bought, spagetti squash, Canadian bacon, soy nuts, Splenda, fish filets and no sugar added Shimmering Jello.. (just add club soda and it makes it something special). These are all things I wouldn't normally eat and I am excited about trying them!
Thanks and good luck all! Thin tastes better!

Read the board for recipes. I've found some wonderful ideas from there too. These boards are so great. As soon as I get home I jump on to see what is new. It helps losing weight with others :~)

Congrats on your loss!! Are you saying to add club soda to the jello instead of regular water when you are making it? Sounds interesting.

It is special Jello called "Shimmering" and you are supposed to use club soda instead of water. Not sure why but when I made it, it didn't seem any different than regular....oh well.

Congratulations!
Isn't this diet great! I am 2 1/2 weeks into and I think I have lost 15 pounds already! I find I am cooking more creatively and trying new things than I ever did before. I am also learning to make foods more tasty with seasonings. The cravings are so minimal now too.
Good luck to you!

ps I just bought spagetti squash tonight for the first time too!

15 pounds!!!! I wish! How was your spaghetti squash? I just fried mine up like hash browns and it was great...closed my eyes and fooled myself into thinking I was indulging myself!

You are an inspiration! Isn't this diet the best? Congratulations!
I love spag squash too. Its great with a little icbinb and salt/pepper. I also stir fry some ground turkey and mix with lo sugar sauce and throw that on top and serve with cottage cheese. Yum! I like the hash brown idea. Thanks!

Thanks for being inspiring! I am on about my third week, and I have also noticed how the cravings have disappeared, the 'staring in to the fridge' thing. I am not sure how much I have lost as I have not been weighing myself (personal thing about scales tyranny), but my clothes are getting looser, and I am feeling less hungry the whole time.
I am going to grow spagetti squash this year instead of potatos. Does anyone know how long they keep for after harvesting? Do they store like butternut or do you need to eat them up quickly after cutting?
