If you are new the first thing you will be asked is "Have you read the book?" The book is really important. It will help you understand why Dr. A structured the plan the way he did and how it all works. You don't have to buy the newest edition, anything your library, friend or local used book store has will do. If you have an older edition of the book check out the
updated food lists.
Some stickies to help you get started:
There are several regular threads:
The Daily Thread
It usually has the day name included in the subject. The Daily is a great place to stop in before launching into your busy day. It's a casual, upbeat thread to chat about life a little, share accomplishments, and get to know other Chicks.
The On Plan Support thread
This weekly thread is all about staying on plan. Whether you want to post menus for feedback, ask questions, or just be accountable this is the place to do it. This weekly thread starts each Monday. Don't be surprised if someone reminds you to aim for 4.5 cups of veggies, remember your dairy or add some beans
Meal threads
This is a the place to share your meal plans and get ideas from others. It really helps when you're in a rut or just plain out of new ideas. There is usually a dinner thread for each season and sometimes breakfast, meals on the go and party food threads too. If you don't see what you need go ahead and start a new one.
Stickies
Bios, monthly exercise challenge and a weight loss challenge for South Beachers are all up here.
Lots of other threads get started every week. You can start a a thread to introduce yourself, get a discussion going that doesn't fit in another thread, or ask a question you can't find the answer to (make sure to check the
Frequently Asked Questions area too).
