Good morning all! I've got nothing planned except finishing up laundry and cooking beans. In two days, I will meet up with an old friend.

Good morning, FO!!! Back to work today...not a whole lot else planned, although I guess I could still be getting a call to appear in court.

So my nephew got 3 days of ISS for getting caught dipping on campus. Apparently it was his first time trying it and he thought it was SO disgusting that he went to spit it out and he got caught. They couldn't get my brother or sister-in-law on the phone so they called us instead. The woman started out w/ "I regret to have to inform you..." and we thought something was SERIOUSLY wrong. When she said what it was my mom goes "that's it???" LOL!!! I'm sure it's not the reaction they were expecting. Granted, he was wrong...but we thought he had been seriously injured or something. But he saved that for yesterday...cut himself in shop class. No stitches, though, so it's all good.

I don't know why I'm rambling about my nephew...guess I have nothing else to say.

Good morning Okie and Natasha

Today is the last day of summer... it sure went by fast this year, at least for me. The weather is supposed to be beautiful here today and tomorrow though, a last blast of summer. Cyndi, you picked a great week for vacation!

My wii fit balance board seems to be working fine again now. I don't know what was wrong or if it will happen again but I enjoyed my workout so much more last night. I was getting really sick of my "personal trainer" cocking her head to the side and saying, "Hey, you won't get stronger that way!"

OK, my classroom beckons, gotta go. Have a great Wednesday friends.

Good morning on this last full day of summer. It's going out in glory with lots of sunshine and a temp of 88. And for the first day of autumn, we're supposed to get into the 90s! I'm hoping for a long Indian summer.

Okie, I hope you have another great OP day!

Natasha, I'm sorry your nephew had to learn the hard way. Have a good day at work.

Heidi, that's puzzling as to what was going on with your balance board, but I'm glad it's working fine now.

I'm having tea this morning. Yesterday, I hadn't even finished my 2nd cup of coffee when I started feeling weak and dizzy and got an awful upset stomach that stayed with me all day. I did manage to go to work, though, and I'm feeling much better this morning, although I'm leery about eating or drinking anything. I probably just had a 24-hour bug.
I'm off to Susie & Ramsay's this morning, and after I pick up the girls at school this afternoon, we're going on a trail ride. I'll follow alongside in the golf cart. I love being outside this time of year. It's hot, but the humidity is down and makes it pleasant.

Okie, beans sound good-have you started your 20 min walking

Natasha, nice new pic! You are looking great!

Heidi, glad your wii is working again!

ETA- Hi Linda! Glad to hear you are feeling better! Your trail ride sounds adventurous! Wish I was cruising with you!

Good morning It is going to be an amazing day here and we are off on a whale watch. DW just can't get enough and being out on the ocean is sure not the worst way to spend a few hours. It's just whales so shorter than our last outing. This afternoon there will be the usual biking, birding, walking and relaxing

Okie - What kind of beans did you make? Cooking is the one thing I miss about home, well that and the cats of course.

Natasha - Hope it's a quiet summons free day.

Heidi - This week makes up for the rainy May days in Maine. Glad to hear the balance board is back. I'll be firing mine up when I get home. I hope it remembers who I am!

Cottage - There has been a yucky early stomach bug going around lately. Seems way too early! hope it's gone today.

Debbie - I think of you when I'm on a long bike ride. Some day we will have to get out there together

DW took a picture of me on my bike Monday. My first thought - hey, my butt does not look huge!

Time to get ready for whales. This time I will remember to use sunscreen!
Happy humpday Chicks (maybe humpback day here!)

Lot's of EarlyChicks today. Okie, I hope you started us up on your way to bed!

Natasha, what the heck is dipping? And ISS? Have I missed something?

Heidi, the thing that would turn me off is nagging! I get turned off on exercise even when Ruthless nags me.

Lexxiss, there is always paperwork, isn't there? I am way behind on mine but it'll have to wait a bit.

Cottage, a trail ride sounds nice to finish off summer. Glad you feel a tad better today - must have been just a bug.

Not as miserably cold here today. We had a t-storm overnight and the dogs managed to open the kitchen door and join me upstairs. Disney joined me on the bed for a change - she usually gets under - so I think her t-storm terror may be lessening. It was great to sleep until nearly seven.

Today will be an odds and sods sort of day here at home. I was given three leftover cauliflowers from the Good Food Box yesterday and will blanch and freeze them this morning. I hope frozen cauliflower roasts as well as the fresh. I'll also make a comprehensive shopping list for tomorrow when I go to Kingston to get my Euros, some other travel stuff and pick up my new sewing machine. I get as excited about a new sewing machine as guys do about trucks - although I still miss my truck.

We are in for a day of rain so list making, laundry, storing the "harvest" and maybe finding those fall pants will be a good way to spend the day.

Happy last day of summer or first day of fall whichever way we figure it.

Debbie, I hope your coffee banishes the sleepyness so you can get your paperwork done! Enjoy your pool time.

Cyndi, you sure picked a great time to go on vacation, with the gorgeous weather and all. I hope you and Julie are having a good time and get to see some humpbacks this morning.

Ruth, that's a nice machine and I know you're going to really enjoy it! I can picture you in your sewing room this winter, giving it a good workout. BTW, frozen cauliflower roasts up just as nicely as fresh.

Busy morning out here

Okie - Thanks for the reminder - I need to get my beans out of the crockpot that I cooked overnight.

Natasha - What is "dipping?"

Heidi - Last day of summer! I forget that since it will still feel like summer here a bit longer.

Cottage - I hope you feel better soon!

Debbie - Enjoy the pool.

Cyndi - Sounds fabulous! I went whale watching once in Maine a few years ago and hardly saw anything. Got seasick.

Ruth - I like cauliflower but it sure does smell up the house when I cook it!

Gotta run and wake up sleeping beauty. He sleeps as late as he can, rushes to shower, and speeds out the door. Yesterday I went to the gym instead of riding. I thought it was the smart choice since I am missing workouts with my mom for three weeks while she is traveling. I need to go watch the weather forecast to see if I can get a ride in today. Later I'll start packing for my quick weekend trip. Gotta dig out the heels and hose. Ugh.

Plan B, apparently no one bothers to update their web page. No whale watch up here and the one in Cape Ann is full of middle school students today. Off on a birding adventure instead

Good Morning Chicks! I haven't been able to log on since I got to Maine but we finally decided to give in a buy some access so that we could check the weather. The wind was whipping out here last night and continues to do so this morning though there is no explanation as to where the wind is coming from or why. Perhaps a storm way off the coast?

I have to admit, it has been hard to stay on track while on the island because there are no grocery stores (well large ones anyway) where I can buy what I need to make things I should be eating. I won't taunt everyone with the lovely things I things I have been eating but they have been soooo good. I am looking forward to a date with Phase 1 upon my return to Denver.

It sounds like everyone is as happy as I am that fall is arriving. Good bye summer, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Have a lovely day ladies!

Lindsay, you probably are getting the remains of Hurricane Igor that really knocked the socks off Newfoundland. My friend who lives there tells me it was wild and scary - and Monroe is a tough Canadian soldier, not a wimp.

Good morning! I'm a little tired this morning. I will have to force myself to go for my walk. Phase one is going well so far! I am doing so much better than I thought I would. I have lost 12lbs over the summer without actually dieting, just walking. That is a big obstacle for me and my dreadful hypothyroidism that seems to be a weight loss road block. I am looking forward to seeing diet/exercise results! You ladies have posted such wonderful recipes! Those have been helpful.
