Here's another thread where postings seem to go along with the question you are asking.

Motivating Others & Loving SBD

Have you read the book? The book describes the philosophy behind SBD and outlines the plan in great detail. My suggestion would be for you to consider this to be a way of eating you would be interested in pursuing long term. If so, there's alot of support here. If you're looking for a quick fix (as I was for years) maybe there would be another plan which would work better.

When I started SBD I was ready to start eating healthy, whole foods. I was ready to address my medical problems which I had acquired as a result of my poor eating habits. In my yoga class I used to focus my intention toward finding health, now I find my focus on keeping my health. For me the change that SBD has brought is well worth hanging onto.

Dingo, this plan works very well if you commit yourself to it and follow the plan. We have many success stories and maintainers here on the forum. Starting off with a 100% clean Phase 1 is an important step to clearing out all the toxins and cravings from your body. You are somewhat restricted as to what you can eat, but there are plenty of delicious foods to choose from and keep you satisfied and happy. The transition to Phase 2 should go slowly, introducing whole grains and fruits into your daily menu a little at a time to see how your body reacts to them. After about 2 weeks of that, you can eat normally, as long as you stay away from processed foods, sugar and white flour, white pasta, white rice, etc. It doesn't really feel like a diet, just a healthier way of eating that you should follow the rest of your life.

I saw this after I read your other threads. All I can say I can say is yes, it does work, if you work it. Some people love WW, Atkins, or other diets - the Zone, or whatever. You have to find what will work for you in your life. If you are looking for a quick fix, this or any other diet quite frankly is not for you. You might as well go on the cookie diet if you want to lose weight and don't care if you gain it back after the big event.
