PROBLEM IN WEIGHT LOSS: Always had no control with sugar, I remember binging after mom would get the weekly groceries, but was ablt to maintain a semi-normal weight until a few courses of prednisone which made me put on 50lbs.

PROBLEM IN WEIGHT LOSS: I am diabetic and most diets have not worked because of the small amounts of food you can eat at each meal. I am also a night shift worker at a hospital so my eating schedule is really different each week due to working 3 12-hour shifts a week.

PROBLEM IN WEIGHT LOSS: Right now my biggest issue with losing is an underactive thyroid. I'm on medication which is helping the other symptoms but my attempts at weight loss for the last few years have been really, really difficult.
WHAT IS DIFFERENT THIS TIME THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL: The difference is I am not going on a mad crash diet to lose for a special occassion. Well, not really anyways, I'll be 40 in March and it really is my incentive, but I have 9 months to lose 50 pounds and am going to do it by making small changes in my life that will last forever. I always "fell off the wagon" with the crash diets then gave up in the past but I'm not really on a diet this time, I've entered a new stage and that is what will make me successful.

Why did you choose South Beach? Last Thursday I was told my triglycerides are VERY high, as is my A1c (I am Type 2 Diabetic) and cholesterol. I was told I am a heart attack waiting to happen. This scared my man and he started researching what we could do and South Beach was suggested. We immediately went out and bought the book and I started the next day. He doesn’t want me to die. PROBLEM IN WEIGHT LOSS: I was successful on Weight Watchers when I was sixteen and lost 30 pounds. I gained back some of the weight and maintained about 130 pounds for two years. I was happy at that weight, but then I went to live on campus. I gained weight very quickly.
