Default Mini Goal!

After working all week to lose the 7 pounds I gained obviously from too much indulgence last week, this morning when I woke up I was actually doing better than I had hoped and....I am down a pant size!!! I went from a size 14 and am now back into my size 12 pants. Now all I have to do is get back into my size 10's. What a great way to start a weekend! I hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful weekend ahead. I am hoping for a move away from the rain and into a sunny weekend.

Two nights in a row I've dreamed that I pigged out on either candy or white bread. I get really upset in the dreams. And I don't usually eat candy or white bread, so I can't be missing them. Weird.

jih88, I gave up on the ricotta cheese the first time I had one of those desserts. Decided I'd rather wait until I can have fruit again.

I had to try several brands of ricotta before I found one with the texture I liked. Walmart's brand is rather grainy. Sargento was a little creamier. Maybe try a different kind.

Nobody says you HAVE to eat dessert. I never could stand the ricotta dessert. Just think - soon you can have fruit for dessert!

good morning the weekend is here! I made it through 1 week clean and ready to start week 2. I am looking forward to adding the fruit but until then I made Jello in individual cups so the taste is still there. Not been on the scale and really am not to excited since I have not seen much difference in the clothes. We have been very busy with swimming, basketball, sleepovers, all the summer things.

This weekend is house cleaning you would think with being home I would be able to do this during the week. The girls room needs to be tackled again. I guess if I don't get started everything will just pile higher so better go for now. Will try to check in later.

Hope everyone has a good day and a safe one.

I am on Day 6 of Phase I..So far so good. My friend (and mentor) told me that I can't weigh myself for 2 weeks. Anyone ever heard of that?

I'm not weighing myself until I'm done with Phase 1. I'm sure my weight will fluctuate throughout this phase and if I see that I've gained, I might give up. Sooo I kind of agree with your friend.

For now, go on how you feel instead of the number on the scale.

Ladies,
I think I am officially moving on to Phase II so I'll go find that board to "hang out" on. After 2 weeks of phase I, a week of 1.25 and a week of 1.50, I think it's time. My total loss is 11.6 for 4 weeks which is discouraging for me, but I'm wondering if the benefits of the fiber and nutrients in whole grains will actually help me out. I had a peice of toast this morning which was REALLY good. I'm going to have one WG per day for several weeks to see if that helps/hurts or what. (in other words, I may be back if it goes south!!)

So, thanks to all for your support and I'm sure we'll run into each other on the other SB threads!

Blessings to all!!
Mindy

Why would you be discouraged with an 11 pound loss? I think that is wonderful! Good luck in Phase II.

Mindy, I think a loss of 11.6 pounds is just great for 4 weeks time! Congratulations! Remember, slow and easy is what it takes to win this weightloss game. Studies have proven that people who lose weight quickly are more likely to gain it back when they go back to eating a wider variety of foods. On Phase 2, you will most likely lose about 1/2 pound a week, but you'll probably find that your clothes are much looser. Good luck, and we look forward to you joining us on our regular daily chat thread.

Mindy-way to go with the loss. 11 lbs less to carry around!

Why are the weekends so blasted hard to stay OP. Last night at a bbq I had 12 corn chips but loaded it with only my salsa so I know no sugar was added!

To night is another bbq this time for brothers bday. Phase 1 will go out the door. There will be steak, corn on the cob, salad with extra veges on the side, whole wheat pasta salad(I made),garlic bread but will be hard to pass up especially if on ww bread, apple crisp(has brown sugar but everything else is phase 2 friendly!),vanilla ice cream(1 carton of SF 1 carton of regular). How is a person able to do this!?! I am not that strong sooo pick the best of the worst have a little little and be done with it. Tomorrow is Monday I will up the water, up the walking, and get back to eating what needs to be eaten.

Made a batch of bean brownies for the week, and am working on roasting chickpeas for snacks at the pool.

Hope your weekends are going good and safe. will try to get on before swim tomorrow but who knows.

Thanks, all, for the + feedback. Yeah, 11+ is great....but lost 9 of it in the first 9 days OP and the remaining 2 1/2 has been in the last 21!! My husband says that if they ever send people to Mars, they will use my body as a test case on how to live on no food!

So, the discouragement comes from not feeling like I'm getting anywhere when my diet is SO different from what it used to be...and so much less.

I'm going to keep going because I know that if I go back to that way of eating, I WILL gain and I'd rather not lose than gain!! And my metabolism is slow, the days of big losses are gone. I just need to be more patient, I guess.

Thanks for the kudos and see ya 'round the boards.

good morning all, hope your time on phase one is going good. Yesterday was a good day for me. Today I am hoping for the same. breakfast will be 2 egg whites and an egg made into egg salad and pickles and a 4 oz v-8. Morning snack will be a yogurt with 8 chopped almonds added in. Lunch is roast beef rolls with green beans. Afternoon snack is pepperoni chips and a cheese stick. Dinner is salad with mixed veges and egg. Evening snack is a SF fudge bar. I have today figured out now to start on tomorrow.

Have a great day and a safe one

Hi All,
Thought i would introduce myself here. I am Jessie. This is my second day on phase 1 and so far it is really going great! I prepared ahead of time, made some south beach muffins and stuck them in the fridge for a breakfast on the go. Also make lemon pie that i found on here and Chocolate black bean brownies, and so far I am very satisfied. Hope this feeling will last!! i have about 100 lbs to lose, and finally decided it was time because I have having some really strong desires to have another baby. I have PCOS and it is pretty bad right now, though my doc thinks that if I lose weight it will get better and my chances will go up. I have 1 son already, so it is possible!
Sorry I am just rambling now...hope to see you all around the board!!

i've been thinking for a while to get back on the south beach diet. i think i may join again. at least until i can kick my junk food habit. my body probably needs to go through phase one to rid my body of all those bad carbs i've been eating.
