Hey, everyone! I'm here! I woke up late, got to work late and am posting late. It's nice to see that everyone's doing fairly well this morning, if not a bit cold. Ya'll could come see me! It's a sunny 45* outside and should get into the 60's this afternoon. It's really quite pleasant. (Although, no beach to speak of!)

Good morning ladies.

I am packed and ready for the road trip to Sanibel.

I made the chicken avocado swiss melt yesterday and highly recommend it. I also finally found Jicama in the grocery store and did a stir fry and it was delicious too.

Chelby, I bought a rutabaga and have no idea what to do with it. Any suggestions.

It's cold here too but waming into the low 60s for almost a week. I am so ready for Spring.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Rutabaga -- Pealing it is the hard part. But, peal it, cut it into large cubes, boil it with salt. When it's tender, drain it and add cracked black pepper. Yum! After being 'sugar free', it tastes like candy to me! mmmmm

wow, lots of personals today. Its nice to get all the weather reports, some of them I am so jealous off.

Its sunny but very cold here today.

Yesterday I went to the casino and big loser here, well not really if you count $40. So it pays to be a pack rat sometimes. My sweet grandson (17 months old) loves the jungle book, DD tells me that he walks around carrying the DVD. I went into the storage area of the basement and found two boxes full of books. One of them is a Disney Book printed in 1974 (first edition) of the Jungle Story taken from the movie. The other is of Pedro the penguin who says - Its Silly to be Chilly" anyone remember that one? So its off to the post office for me.
Have a good day chickies this winter will pass but remember every day is a gift.

Hi there!! I have been running around all morning, trying to squeeze in errands while DD and DS were at school. Day 2 of house cleaning. The house is a mess... how is that happening? I have more free time than ever! I got hooked on this coupon site. This Coupon-Queen of IL has some great ideas! Today I got Suave shampoo for .38/bottle! I got juice for .87 a bottle (big bottles), and frozen rising crust pizza for 2.99 with a free 2L of pop!! I put them in the deep freezer. The pizza will be a treat for a weekend night when we would have normally ordered out! Can't beat $3 for dinner! My neighbor and I signed up for her class on coupon cutting. It is a free class at the library. This lady somehow buys groceries for a family of 5 for less than $65 a week. I'll take some of those tips!
No working out for me today. I woke up very sore and very tired. I have been hitting the gym harder than ever and my appetite shows it! I am so hungry all the time now.
Happy Thursday!

mmk, how the heck is it warmer here than in Florida?! It's in the 50's...supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow.

Barb, I hope it becomes more than that as well. Both you and Brian deserve it.

Jen, a family of 5 for $65 a week? Nice. Tough in these times, though. Also, take some time to rest. Over training those muscles is going to lead to an injury. Anything beyond slight soreness is your body telling you to take it easy. Give yourself a day or two.

chelby-no, I haven't read them but have read romance novels with a kilt theme. Scottish people seem highly amused by kilt rippers, which is a term I've seen used for a display in our local Borders!!! I'll post up my wedding photo in my profile so you can see my kilted hero!!! It's funny though. Now that I live in Scotland (and have been here over 7 years! ) some of the romance in the scottish novels seems a bit hokey...especially when they write the accents out phonetically. I dunno, I've picked up the lilt and sound more Irish than American now...it's REALLY hard not to do pick it up. (BTW, why isn't there a kilt smiley?!)

Anyhow, I'm rambling!

Beef fajitas for dinner were meh...I didn't want to upset my stomach so late in the day with peppers. This will be my second week on phase 1 but I'm going to do a third as I seem to have a few cravings lurking!

So, every once in awhile one of our neighbors dogs will come and totally destroy our garbage (most days, I put a full bag outside the back door for DH to take out when he gets home). Today, I saw a dog running across the deck and just knew he was heading towards the garbage bag. I ran from the kitchen and flung open the back door and caught the dog in mid tear. Apparently, I startled the dog because he lunged at me, hit me in the chest with his front paws and knocked me over. I cracked my head really hard on the hardwood floor and broke my glasses...

what to do? I called DH but he's at the gym and his phone is probably in the car. The neighbor isn't home (they always just leave their dogs to roam during the day ).

The dog really hasn't demonstrated any behavior like this in the past but we are highly suspect that it is an abused dog. Now, I'm rather worried about him doing it to my son.

Zeff, In my neighborhood, you get a gun and shoot the dog. But, I live in the woods. Maybe you should call animal control. I'd be concerned about my son, too.

Jenny, I always cringe at movies set in Louisiana. Actors can slaughter the Cajun and New Orleans accent. Although, I do love the Adam Sandler movie Waterboy. The old Cajun coach in the overalls is EXACTLY my Uncle Tommy.

Zeff- I agree with Chelby. I would call Animal Control or the police. That way there's documentation of what happened today and the neighbors would have more of an incentive to keep their dog under control. Even if there are no leash laws there, I'm sure there are laws regarding him causing you injury while he's on your property. I hope you're not hurt and that this was a one-time occurrence if the neighbors don't shape up and keep their dog tied.
