Good Afternoon, All,

I'm sitting down for the first time today! We had a great Jazzercise class. I rushed home, got DS dressed, and he and I got haircuts. WooHoo!

Today was my weekly weigh-in. I maintained this week. Bummer! It's better than gaining, but Sheesh! DH says I'm impatient. Probably.

I hope you all have a great day and weekend!

Welcome Back! Natalie'sMom! I remember you, and I'm glad you decided to rejoin us again.

I stopped in to visit Mom & Dad today, and I felt so bad. Their driveway hadn't been plowed since our snow/ice storm on Wednesday, and they never told any of us kids. My son is supposed to plow it since Dad allows him to store his snowplow there. I couldn't even get in their drive, and I called Jake right away to come help me shovel them out. My DS had better have a darned good excuse! Grrrr!

Lori- Just read your post from last night- so sorry to hear that you lost your job last night- I will be praying for you that something better will come along your way.

Zeff- Sorry to hear about your Dad and cousins as well.

This economy stinks.

Hi chicks! I am having a lovely weekend so far. I started out by watching Dear Frankie on Reelz last night, it's a really good movie and nobody can ever spend too much time gazing at Gerard Butler, I aways say. Then the kids spent the night at grandma's and I had some wine and with an empty house and the hormonal planets aligned, DH and I got in several games of "mousetrap", that's a family euphimism and that's all I'll say about that. Slept in until 10, and then we went grocery shopping and to the creamery together before getting the kids and it was nice to have some company along for a change.

Oh, I had to stop at Toys R' Us for a gift card as DD had a birthday party to attend this afternoon, and they had a sign posted that WiiFit was in stock so I grabbed one. Haven't tried it out yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Now I'm lazing about for a bit with a cup of tea and the laptop before I start supper. Burn After Reading is on PPV and I may try to talk people into ordering it tonight. Tomorrow I will pay for all this play!

To Loriann and zeff's Dad I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I hear about this happening more and more each day and I really worry about all those folks who live close to the edge. We are all in for some tough times, I guess.
Nat'smom, glad to see you back!
And Jenny! I think it's been a while since I read you around here!.
Twynn, enjoy your date! Do you know what he's planned or is it a surprise? My friend's DH surprised her last weekend for her birthday with dinner at an Indian restaurant and then an evening of contra dancing. I mentioned it to DH but he said not to get my hopes up about the dancing.
Cyndi, hope you are having a really fun weekend! I love the beach any time of year.

Ahhh, starting a post while hearing Little Guy's Krusty-the-Klown laugh coming from the other room..... "ah-hyahl-hyahl-hyuhl!!!" Apparently Tom is torturing him by putting lotion on his dry skin.

Been super duper busy, but wanted to pop in and say hi while I actually have the computer for a moment and am **not** working. Getting ready to do a MK show here in awhile, but for right now, I'm hanging out at home.

Just wanted to check in with everyone. Glad to hear things are going well for most and prayers going out to those that are going through troublesome times.

Oh, and HAPPY SUPERBOWL (early)!!!!! I'm going to say something you very seldom hear a Chicago sports fan say: GO CARDINALS!!!!

Have a great weekend all!

Lori- gl with the water heater- hope its not a big deal to fix...

Ruth- Enjoy your weekend! I LOVE arborio rice!!! I make mine with crimini mushrooms and asparagus!... yummmmm... but only on the holidays! ;(

Cyndi- I just re-read a PM you sent me a while back and I am re-adjusting my eating(calorie, protien wise)... thanks again for the info! and I am not so sure about your breakfast combo! you make be breaking some warm wind to counter act those chilly coastal winds!~ lol ok, sorry if that was too much!

Twynn- Hope your date was wonderful!

Cottage- ooh, free laptop work, you got a steal!! Enjoy your weekend!

*Ruth and Cottage- Just a little note, not sure what kind of arborio you have ruth- but arborio rice is actually a short grain rice from italy They are definitely more starchy than other rice varieties though!

Pearl- enjoy your alone time! Lucky DH for going to the superbowl!

Kim- good for you for throwing half out and getting right back on track... and can someone tell me what a niggle is already?!!!

Jenny- Nice to meet you, when I read you were from scottland, your post immediately had an accent in my mind... lmao. Now, I am from tennessee so you are free to imagine my big southern accent, if you please!

Celtic- enjoy the game!

Heather- Hope your dinner was lovely!

Zeff- I really wanted to see Benjamin Button but could not stand even the thought of being at the movies for that long! I refuse to go if anything is over 2 hours... and preferably no more than 1 and a half!

Lauren- Nice to meet ya!

Chelby- I love getting haircuts! but not as much as I like giving them! lol enjoy your weekend!

schmoodle- Hoping mousetrap was fun! LMAO

weezle- hope the mk party goes well!

Me- I did pretty good today diet wise... just found out I am losing my benefits at work along with most people who work in our department. Sucks because they knew we were close to losing them in November but told us we were all fine and they would let us know if we came close to losing them... then they tell us we are losing them and in 2 weeks. now, how do I make up some of those hours to get my average back up? BET I coulda done it in the 4months that have passed since they found out!!!! GRRRR... sorry just needed to vent! Resisting opening the bottle of wine in the fridge! Going to enter all my stuff in calorie king for the day and then probably make a fake blizzard DH is still at work so leftover chili for me for dinner. quiet evening around here... we were supposed to go out for the superbowl with some friends but now not sure if they are coming up... I did tell work I would pick up some hours in the morning and I should be off at 1 in time for the superbowl so that should work out good! I am just rambling now so Im gonna shush now...

Hope everyone has a good night!

*edited- I just saw you were talking about orzo ruth

i'm feeling guilty about being pissed at dh. i told him it wasn't a big deal if he went to watch the fights tonight, he said he would come home if i needed him. Well the kids were acting up and i was really upset, i called and yelled at him. now i'm feeling bad because i know he would have come home had i just said the word.

Morning ladies! Still no signs of snow yet, and omg, I see patches of blue sky (a rarity in bonnie scotland!).

Thanks for the welcome backs, ladies. It sure is good to be back on the beach.

It's mass for me this morning, followed by laundry and housework. DH will no doubt spend another relaxing day in his chair as this is his first actual weekend off in a wee while.

Went to the grocery last night, spent ages looking for zuchinni, asked the boy stocking the veg if they had it. He looked at me funny and then smiled and said, the courgette, is on the other side! I dunno why they call it courgette over here...zuchinni is much more fun to say

Measured myself this morning and I seem to have lost an inch off of my waist but the weigh in after mass should be the real indicator of my first week in phase 1/bootcamp.

Well ladies, I've got to get going. Have fun watching the football, Go Cardinals!

Too funny about the zucchini, Jenny. I always think "courgette" sounds like a sports car. And then there's eggplant=aubergine. And then there's fennel=anise=finnochio or however you spell it!

Today is supposed to "warm up" to freezing before we get hit by another big snowstorm. I need to chip out the steps from the deck to the yard because it is more of a slide than stairs at the moment. I'll also get more firewood into the house and fill the birdfeeders for the coming week. It's a week when I have to drive somewhere every day so I need to get prepared. Tomorrow is Groundhog Day but I suspect he/she will just give up in disgust and cozy back into the burrow.

See y'all after Church.

ETA: The forecast has been revised. I don't see any snowstorm coming. What the heck is going on!

Good morning from the coast Today we head home the long way to search for a very rare gull. No one saw it yesterday so I'm afraid me might have missed it.

Jenny - welcome! My bestest friend is from Scotland and goes home at least once a year to visit. She keeps inviting me and one of these days I'm going to make the trip with her.

Ruth - I always think that if the groundhog comes out at all it's good for us because just 6 more weeks would be an early spring!

Rikki - I've been a vegetarian about 3/4 of my life and am Italian too so my body is very well adjusted to beans. I can eat them every meal with no obvious side effects

Weezle - It's good to see you again

Schmoodle - The beach says hello Here's a sunrise for you.

Okay, time to get things organized and get on the road. Have a good day everyone

Good morning Chickies,

Jenny I laughed over your story- forgot how many different things are called something different over there.

Ruth- your high is zero today, yikes. It is supposed to get to 45 today for us whewhoo.

Rikki- sorry you'll are losing your benefits at work. Glad to hear you are doing good on SB though.

Zeff- it happens to the best of us, we are human after all. Hopefully you'll made up when he got home

Weezle- glad to hear that you are doing well.

Cyndi- gorgeous Sunrise picture, hope you'll get to see the rare gull.

As for me- got up way too early so have been on computer for a couple of hours already- about to get ready for Church the teenagers want to start going to HS Sunday school so have to get ready early. Don't really know what I am doing for SuperBowl. If the kids don't have a party with youth group I told them they could invite some friends over, so we shall see what comes to pass. Truck sold on ebay now have to wait and see if buyer actually buys, doesn't always happen. LOL.

Have a great day Ladies and go Cardinals!!!!

Thanks so much to everyone for the warm welcome back! I really appreciate it. I hate so much to think I am starting over, but that's what it is so I need to just move forward. I went through the fridge and freezer to get rid of the off-plan foods (except what is for the kids) and getting prepared.

I made a batch of cauliflower mashers, and a dozen hard boiled eggs so that we'd be able to be ready to go. I think I might make some tuna salad as well...DH doesn't eat tuna though. I am trying to think of what else I can prepare ahead.

Otherwise, we have a superbowl party later today, so that should be fun!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Yesterday was busy but I got a lot accomplished. Brian came along for a 4 hour Wood Badge meeting in the morning but we did finally get his candle holders for his science project.

Today is Sunday school followed by mass. Brian will be with his patrol for 4 1/2 hours for a Super Bowl watching party. I'm not sure yet what I'll do while he's gone but still need to grocery shop so that might be it.

I'm late today. Our tax guy is here to do our taxes this morning, so I ran to the store early to pick up bagels, then came home and tidied up the house, and am just now sitting down for some computer time.
All the kids will be here for dinner today, and I'm making lasagna for them while I enjoy my Deep-Dish Spaghetti Squash Italian Pie. We're finally going to have the ice cream cake that I had bought for Carly's birthday back in December, too, and I DO plan to have a piece of that. I've already planned it into my calories for the day.
I'm so glad it's February, we're slowly getting closer to Spring! We're watching a system that could bring us a snowstorm on Tuesday, so winter wants to remind us that it's not over yet.
