Thanks Zeff for the compliment on my new avitar. It is by far my fav picture of my kids! It gets easier taking pictures. This year's Christmas pictures were a breeze!! And Santa, one shot is all it took, I took an extra to be on the safe side. I say look at me, say cheese, and they listen!!
This morning was so much better! DS woke up in a good mood. We walked on egg shells, testing it out. Once we realized he was OK, the morning moved along as normal. I still made an apt with his doctor ( I choose to wait until after the holidays!), stuff still bothers me, so I want to get his opinion on how to handle these "meltdowns". They aren't normal ones for a 6yr old. DD however was a beast! If it isn't one, it is the other! Luckily DH was home, so he gave her his "I'm not joking voice" and she directed her anger at him! But she got dressed and we made it to school only 5 minutes late!
I was helper at DD's school today. I spent 2 hours cutting out snowmen, hats, gloves, etc. They are too little to cut all these things on their own, so once a month I go in and help out. Other moms help too, so it helps the teachers a lot! My hand is killing me!
DD is at the neighbor's house, I have 3 hours left of my work week and when DH gets home I am off to the grocery store. I have a lot to do, I am non-stop today, but I am not as stressed. The advice here is good.... something I am trying to take seriously! Thanks girls!!
Off to work...

Oh yeah... got the CUTEST craft idea today at school!! I am going to try to do it with my kids next weekend when we are doing nothing! Cut up white tissue into little squares, cut a piece of contact paper into the shape of a snowman. Let your little ones stick the tissue to the contact paper. Cut out a nose, eyes, scarf, etc out of construction paper, apply to snowman. Cut another snowman body out of the contact paper and line them up so the tissue and papers are on the inside. You can hang them in your windows like stained glass snowmen!! Get as creative as you want! Isn't that so cute? I "borrowed" the idea from school today.

Jen - that is a great idea! I've been looking for something to do with DS this Christmas season. I have everything for it here as well - bonus!

Unbeknownst to us, the highschool that DH moonlights for closed because of the snow this morning....it wasn't on the morning news or the radio. He got home at around 9:30 instead of noon. I ended up making french toast for breakfast - I added some gingerbread spices into the batter and also a little instant coffee. It was like gingerbread pancakes without all the work! Perfect with a little honey.

I couldn't believe the way that people freaked out about the snow. Our neighbors both called into work saying that they wouldn't be able to drive - THERE ISN'T ANY SNOW ON THE ROADS and it has already melted everywhere else. 1/4" inch of snow and people just flip out. There was 9 bus accidents reported on the way to school this morning and a million more car accidents. It boggles my mind. It wasn't slippery out really, just snowy/rainy.

That is so funny how people by you react to 1/4" snow!! Here there has to be 14ft for life to stop! (OK, not that much, but you get the idea!)

Zeff - I was thinking about it, how cute would it be to use green tissue and make Christmas trees too? And really, to make life easier, I would use squares of contact paper and cut the shapes AFTER you seal the two sides together. Can you imagine lining up two rounded snowmen bodies?!?

I can't wait to decorate my kitchen windows!

Ruth have you seen Christmas peeps? I hate them but the wife loves them

And no I am not a mirage! Happy holidays all. I am back on SBD come the 14th...no waiting until new year's either. We have a treadmill, I am starting to commute to work on Jan 2nd (15 minute walk, train, 15 minute walk) and I feel like crap.

So the prodical daughter returns Happy Thursday!

Jenn! I'll greet you twice cuz I'm avoiding work Good to see you back.

Yes, it's freezing raining and generally yucky out there. Glad I was a wimp and stayed home today. I went to get my snow tires on and discovered I needed new ones. Good thing shopping wasn't too successful yesterday I should have kept the old ones to wrap for under the tree.

Sophie _ glad to hear DH is doing well.

Beachgal - Good luck with the snow vs. the party

Jen- I'll add to everyone else - that is a gorgeous picture

Kim - Good to see you

Twynn - Hope you and the child survived the day

Okay, gotta get something useful done here.
