Default Weekend Warblings

Good morning, Beachers! It's still pitch black out there and cold but we have been promised a glorious fall weekend for our Thanksgiving.

The cookies are all ready to go - I packaged them and put them in the car last night for an early delivery to the Church today. I took the cakes and pies to the Mill late yesterday to get that off my list. I sometimes think I should just donate $$$ instead of cooking but people do expect and enjoy real home baking. The kitchen is nearly back to normal but I still have turkey stuffing and our pumpkin chiffon pies to make this afternoon.

The Pypers are dropping off Bailey this morning and then leaving for their day trip. I'm not sure what time they'll be back tonight so won't do a roast for dinner. It'll be lasagna from the freezer and Caesar salad, I guess. That's not exactly SBD friendly but you do what you have to do and it IS our Thanksgiving so slippage is allowed.

I hope your weekend is shaping up as nicely as ours is.

Default Weekend Happenings at The Beach

Happy weekend, and HAPPY THANKSGIVINGto our Canadian chicks!

First thing this morning, Jake is following me to the car shop so I can drop my car off for a tune-up, then we're heading up into the Amish country for breakfast and a bit of grocery shopping. It's supposed to be a perfect Autumn weekend, weather-wise, so I'm going to sit back and admire the foliage. I'll be spending some time this afternoon with Mom & Dad. He's made a remarkable turnaround since getting the pacemaker.

What's everyone doing on this fine Fall day?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good morning, RUTH! Can I come spend the day? Your kitchen is going to be smelling wonderful! I hope the baking sales are successful, I know I'd snatch up your cookies if I could!

Morning Ladies!!

It's kind of muggy here at 5:30, but should be a beautiful day! I decided to get up and post grades for the week so they are not hanging over my head.

Ruth, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I also wish I was there to have a good smell of those yummies! Thanksgiving and Christmas are my two "off" days when I indulge in everything I want to.

Cottage, so happy your Dad is doing well. I know you must be so relieved. Have a great afternoon with your family!

Me, well, nothing much happening that I know of. Will post grades, then have to do a little work for a client who won't let me go. Going to skip the gym this morning I guess unless my husband wants to to and then I'll go with him. I was there at 5 a.m. every day this week and must admit it really starts my day off great. The guy in the classroom next to mine decided to join and will also be going at 5. Great. That means a co-worker will see me looking like I do when I roll out of bed in the morning. I guess if it doesn't scare him, there is nothing I can do about that.

This week I smashed the side of my finger in a filing cabinet (adjusting those things inside that slide and made a huge blood blister on the side of my pointer finger) Then the next morning I smashed the fingernail of that same finger in my bedroom door as I was leaving for the gym. The next morning I was bent over putting puppies out the back door and opened the door right into my forehead. I think I'm dangerous to myself!

I have decided to play hooky on Tuesday and it will probably take me a couple of hours to do detailed sub plans, but I really need a day to myself and have plans with a friend for the day.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning,it is supposed to be a lovely day in the low 80's. Waiting for the sun to wake up and then perhaps get a morning walk in.

Ruth Have a lovely Holiday weekend!

Cottage your day sounds great, I love the amish country! Glad to hear your dad is doing much better.

Cat good grief lady be careful out there! Glad you are enjoying the gym.

Me I have informed the family that I am going to pick apples today, they do not have to join me if they don't wish but don't you dare make any plans that will get in my way. Is that wrong???? To bad if it is!

Well I think I will go catch up on some tv until the sun decides to light my day and get me going. Have a great weekend ladies.

OH and Zeff good luck moving, hope all goes smooth!

Ladies, did anyone tell you how early it is on a Saturday???!!! I was sleeping soooo nicely til my DS woke me up at 6:15, and of course, I can't fall back to sleep. Sigh.

Ruth...freshed baked goodies sound so yummy! So does that lasagna!!

Cottage...I'm not toooo far from you....wish I could meet you! It is getting beautiful here right now, isn't it?? And the weather...actually, a bit warm for October, but I won't complain.

Cat - You're too ambitious! WOW. Hope you enjoy your Tuesday! (and no more injuries!)

Pacer - I hope to be apple picking soon too!

Me - on call this weekend, hopefully it will be boring! DS has a birthday party, so we're hoping to have some fun time with DD while he's gone (he's ALWAYS showing off for her).

Got to use my Garmin yesterday...it's awesome!! It let me know exactly how far I went (5.04 mi), how long (52 min...I kinda slow ), average heartrate (160 or so), etc. etc. Really cool device!!

Have a quiet, restful weekend, ladies!!

Ruth - I thought you started sleeping past 6! Your house must smell amazing. If only we lived closer...I would love a baking buddy.

Cottage - I'm so glad to hear that your Dad has made a turn for the better! What great news. Enjoy your lovely sounding day.

Cat - be careful!! I'll tell you, one of my biggest fears was having a man see what I looked like straight out of bed....thankfully my husband likes my rumpled bed head.

Twynn - Tell me more about this little device...it sounds great.

-

Well, today is the big day. I'm freaked out. I bought a pumpkin swirl bread for breakfast - hopefully I can remember where I packed the coffee. We were up late late late finishing the kitchen and organizing stuff. I put a last load of laundry and dishes through the machines.

I found a HH Restore while I was driving around last night - I wonder why it wasn't listed on the HH website. They are only open on Fridays and Saturdays for sales, so I think DH and I are going to head out there for a little bit to see what they have.

We can pick up the truck at noon and our friends/family will be here to help around 1.

Wish us luck

Zeff - Good luck with the move today. Try not to stress about the details. Let the day goes as it will and it will all work out in the end!!

Nice weekend planned here for us. DS has a soccer game today, we are going out to dinner WITHOUT THE KIDS with my sister-in-law and her hubby tonight. Tomorrow we are taking the kids to a pumpkin patch with my brother and his family. LOVE weekends like this! :-) The kids are off Monday, so we can all move a little slower Monday morning.

Enjoy your weekend!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING CANADIANS

RUTH, with all that baking, I'm glad I'm not your neighbor!

Cottage, the fingerlakes is probably the most beautiful places to view foilage! Come on over!

Femme, OUCH, be more careful hun! And Tuesday sounds fun! I love playing hookie!

Pacer have fun picking apples.

Twynn, um, 5 mi in an hour? LOL< i do three.. of course I walk it! Enjoy time with dd!

Zeff, I so glad I not you today, growing up we moved so much I despise it! lol. But if i were moving to a new house I'd be enjoying it! have fun.

Me: I think I'm going to stick around the house and get things done here. I need to mow the lawn, clean out the shed, and clean the cupboards in the kitchen!

Yesterday I wanted so bad to do something with someone, but resolved to go to the lake with Jade and walk. A dog is awesome for striking up conversation with folks! She met a nice handsome fella named Jackson. Jackson is 4 and upon our approaching him he went into submission, layed right down for Jade, which she loves because she's ALPHA 100%!!

My son loved the ice cream cake I picked up for his party today. Yesterday he turned 19.... I can't believe how quickly time flies!! He was born 10/10/89, his cousin a month earlier.. yup... 9/11/89.

For those of you with little ones, enjoy each and every moment. One day you'll be saying "It was just y esterday...."

I just smashed my toe in a dutch door. I quit. I thought when I lost weight I'd become more agile (one of our vobulary words this week) I guess clumsy has nothing to do with weight.

Zeff, good luck with the move...you are so organized that it should go smoothly for you!

Good morning Chickies!!! Happy Thanksgiving to the Canada Chickies

Sounds like a fun day for all.

Cat I don't think clutzy has anything to do with weight, I have been clutzy my whole life, seems like I am always stubbing my little pinkie toes LOL

Good morning ladies

Ruth, you sound like quite the baker! I bet those cookies, pies, etc. that you made are delicious and that your kitchen smells heavenly! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving : ).

Cottage, I'm glad to hear that your dad is doing well, thats great news : ) Have a nice time with them today.

Femme, ouch! Becareful. That's great that you got to the gym every morning last week at 5. Taking time off for yourself tuesday sounds nice, enjoy the day : ).

Pacergal, have fun picking apples today.

Tywnn, that garmin device sounds neat! Where did you get it? I would like one for myself too but that would be great for my dad...I'm going to look into that.

Zeff, good luck with the move today. : ) That's good that your friends and family are coming to help, every bit of help helps. When my sis in law had a condo in Boston and was moving, she had a moving party. We all gathered to help and boy did we all get good exercise that day! SHe was up 3 stories, or maybe it was 4. I can't imagine them having to do that on their own.

Jens, sounds like really nice weekend plans there, enjoy it : )

Lorianne, belated happy birthday to your son. That cake sounded yummy!

Hi hmac, have a great day as well

As for me, I am going to hang out a bit today and do my manicure and hair and wrap mom and dads presents. Dh and I plan to go for a walk later on, it's a lovely fall day. We are meeting my parents at the restaurant tonight (taking them out for anniv.), I'm excited to see them. They are not swinging by the house so I did not get the typical anniv. cakes that I usually do but I found these really cute little mini cakes, a his and hers! lol dad hates choc. so I got him a vanilla one and mom a choc. one.
As for tonights menu, I am definitely getting the br. haddock...those other sinful thought I was having are out of my head, good!

Have a great weekend everyone
